Thor sketch on a blank cover. Tombow brush pen & Presto pen white out. 6.9 x 10.4. 2024. I'm drawing a few more commissions - head sketches and remarques. I decided to do one full figure and drew a variation of a Thor I drew on a charity piece for Hero Initiative for Baltimore.

The Question. Blank cover sketch. Tombow brush pens. 6.8 x 10.4. 2024. Opted for the shorter brimmed hat of Ditko rather than the Denys Cowan wider brim. Don't know why exactly except I was going back to the beginning of the character a bit. Plus it's faster to draw this way.

Dragon Con. 1994 or 95. Syd Mead was at the con with a booth and a new book. I bought a copy. He signed it for me, but his pen was running out of ink and I didn't have a pen. Killed me but I had him sign it anyway. I still have the book. And it turns out, this photo!!

So today, this was waiting on the front stoop when we got home from grabbing some lunch. It's a copy of the Miller/Mazzucchelli Batman: Year One Artist's Edition. I'll bet it looks great but I haven't yet figured out how to circumvent the written instructions on the box's cover!
