Abstract
A method for scoring a cricket dart game includes a dart board having a dart area disposed in an upper portion and having a display device disposed in a lower portion. A number of dart segments are slidably engaged in the dart area. The display device includes at least one display unit having a plurality of strokes divided into a plurality of groups each including at least one stroke for indicating a shot of a dart.
Description
~0187 ~ET~OD FOR SCORING A CRIC~ET DART GAME
The invention is to provide a nethod for scoring a cricket dart game, the method provides a display device for scoring the cricket dart game without installing 05 further light bulbs and for reducing the producing cost of the dart game.
Typical dart games comprise a target area to be shot by a dart, and a displayer for displaying the scores.
The displayer includes a video display screen, liquid crystal display, electronic display or the like. Typical dart games co~prise a number of different rules including ~count up or count do~n, 301-901~, "round the clock~ and ~cricket. For cricket or the so-called "~ickey mouse, the users have to shoot three tines for each of the target plates scoring from 15 to 20 and the bull. In order for scoring purposes, seven grouPs of light bulbs are provided for scoring the shooting of the target plates scoring from 15 to 20 and the bull. In the begining, all of the seven groups of light bulbs are turned on. When the users shoot a target plate scoring 15~, one of the group of the light bulbs scoring "15 will be turned off. The winner should first shoot and turn off all of the light bulbs. The displayer is provided for sho~ing the scoring ranging froo 15 to 20 only. However-, The light bulbs are required for scoring the "CRICKET" dart game. This not only nay increase the size of the dart board but also oay increase the manufacturing cost of the dart board.
~170187 FIG. 1 is a plane view of a cricket dart gaoe;
FIGS. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are plane views showing the display device; and FIGS. 10 and 11 are plane views showing two other 05 types of the display device.
Referring to FIG. 1, a cricket dart game conprises a dart board 20 having a dart area 21 provided in the upper portion and having a display device 22 provided in the lower portion for scoring purposes. A nunber of dart segments 24 are slidably engaged in the dart area 21.
The invention is to provide a uethod for displaying the score of a dart game. As shown in PIG. 2, the display device 22 may include a video display screen, liquid crystal display, electronic display or the like, and include three ~8"-shaped display units 23 each having seven strokes arranged in 8" shape. The three displaY
units 23 includes twenty one strokes altogether which is good enough for scoring the twenty one shots of the cricket dart gane. As shown in FIGS. 3 to 9, a number groups of three strokes of the "8n-shaped display units 23 oay be provided for indicating the three shots of scores froo "15 to 20n and the bull.
Typically, the three displaY units 23 are provided for indicating numerals from 0 to 9 only. The numerals each includes at least two strokes, such as "ln.
In operation and in the beginning, all of the twenty one strokes of the three display units 23 are turned on.
For example, when the dart plate scoring "19~ is shot, ~7U187 one stroke of the three lower strokes of the left display unit 23 is turned off (FIG. 7). When three "19"
shots are completed and when a further "19" scoring is shot, no further strokes will be turned off. When the 05 first person shoots and turns off all of the strokes, he is the winner.
Alternatively, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the display device 22 may include one or more display units 23 of different shape and having different numbers of strokes. The strokes are arranged in a shape different from n8n. The strokes of the display units may be separated into a number of groups of strokes for scoring the shots of the darts. It is to be noted that, for e~ample, a single display unit may be provided and nay include twenty one or more strokes therein for indicating the shots of different scorings.
