背景技术
电话已经成为通信的主要工具。根据对电话系列(family)的多种分类方式,存在许多类型的电话。电话可以使用陆地线路,可以是作为普通电话业务(POTS)线路,或者是例如综合业务数字网络(ISDN)线路的数字业务线路,也可以使用连到T1或PRI线路的到PBX的数字接口。电话可以使用无线通信连接到电话网络,并由此连接到另一个电话。公知的是,如果使用蜂窝网络连接到电话网络,则为蜂窝电话;如果通过卫星连接到电话网络,则为卫星电话。电话可以使用无线电波来连接到基站,基站利用陆地线路依次连接到电话网络。这就是典型的无绳电话。

现有解决该问题的一些尝试。一些卖主出售用于某些蜂窝电话的附件,以便将扬声器电话功能添加到这些特定蜂窝电话中。例如,CCMClip n Go附件可以向Motorola Vxx系列或Nokia 33xx系列的蜂窝电话添加扬声器电话功能。Dock‘N’Talk扬声器电话系统可以向Motorola StarTalk系列蜂窝电话添加扬声器电话功能。所有这些附件均为具有非常有限功能的低质量附件(add-ons)。其也许能够支持免提交谈,但通过蜂窝电话线路只能勉强地在电话会议中使用。因此,仍然需要制造可用于蜂窝电话用户的全功能的、能够进行会议的扬声器电话。

发明内容
根据本发明的实施例使用了普通插座和电缆,将无线联接(linkage)添加到全功能扬声器电话中。还将使全功能扬声器电话能到任何能用无线电话手持机的地方使用。根据本发明的一个实施例,将插孔添加到扬声器电话。具有两个连接器的电缆用于连接一端处的扬声器电话和另一端处的无线电话。将电缆的一个连接器插入新的头戴式送受话机插孔中。将电缆的另一个连接器插入无线电话的头戴式送受话机连接器中。对于无线电话手持机,扬声器电话只是具有麦克风和受话器的一般头戴式送受话机。对于扬声器电话,无线电话手持机是用于已处理麦克风信号的出口和用于馈入扬声器的入口(inline)。
在一个实施例中,扬声器电话上的插孔是常用的三线头戴式送受话机插孔,一个电线触点对应三个信号中的一个信号::麦克风信号、扬声器信号和地信号。
在另一个实施例中,扬声器电话上的插孔是标准插孔,例如USB插孔。
在另一个实施例中,扬声器电话是电池供电的扬声器电话。

具体实施方式
根据本发明,将无线电话连接添加到基于陆地线路的扬声器电话。这一新的连接使现有扬声器电话更适用于难以发现陆地线路或陆地线路不能支持扬声器电话的区域。
参考图1,扬声器电话100通过电话绳150与陆地线路160相连。扬声器电话100可以具有多个麦克风(102,104,106)和扬声器(112,114)。尽管在图1所示的实施例中安装了两个扬声器(112,114)和三个麦克风(102,104,106),但是只有一个扬声器和一个麦克风是必需的,安装任意数目的扬声器或麦克风都可以。扬声器电话100还具有与不同组件相连的电子模块120。该全功能扬声器电话100具有许多功能和能力。例如,可以具有常规电话小键盘、挂机/摘机、会议、静音、音量上/下键、菜单和导航键。还可以具有三个根据使用环境可调整的(context sensitive)自定义功能键,包括重拨、保持和可编程会议键。扬声器具有较大的频率响应范围,可以从300-4000Hz,或200-12,000Hz。控制台(console)麦克风可以具有类似的响应范围。扬声器电话可以有全双工的声响清晰度,使麦克风的拾取范围最高达9英尺的自动增益控制,具有智能麦克风混合功能和动态噪声减小功能的选通(gated)麦克风。具有这些大致性能的扬声器电话的实例是来自本申请的受让人Polycom Corp.的VTX 1000。

尽管该新插孔在机械上可能非常类似于在某些现有技术扬声器电话中出现的通用头戴式送受话机插孔,但是该新插孔对扬声器电话的其它部分而言,它的电连接和功能性方面有很大区别。对于典型的现有技术扬声器电话头戴式送受话机插孔,当将头戴式送受话机插入到插孔中时,插孔断开了扬声器电话中的麦克风和扬声器并使其不可用。扬声器电话充当基座,而头戴式送受话机充当头戴式送受话机。从扬声器电话提供扬声器信号,并且向扬声器电话提供麦克风信号。
相反,当将类似插头插入该新插孔中时,扬声器电话中的麦克风和扬声器并没有不可用。扬声器电话充当用于相连无线电话的头戴式送受话机,而相连的无线电话充当基座。利用该新插孔,将扬声器信号提供给扬声器电话,并从扬声器电话提供麦克风信号。
当将头戴式送受话机插入到头戴式送受话机连接器中时,蜂窝电话手持机通常使手持机上的麦克风和扬声器不可用。蜂窝电话手持机能够机械地或电子地自动感知头戴式送受话机的插入。类似地,当将插头插入扬声器电话的插孔中时,扬声器电话会自动地检测到来自蜂窝电话手持机的信号的存在,并断开与陆地线路的连接。按照这种方式,通过陆地线路到电话网络的连接和通过蜂窝电话到电话网络的连接不会彼此冲突。与蜂窝电话手持机相似,利用机械微型开关(micro-switch)或电子逻辑,可以自动进行陆地线路链接或蜂窝电话链接之间的切换。机械微型开关可以嵌入到插孔中。
现在参考图2,其示出了本发明的另一个实施例200。该实施例200实质上与图1所示的实施例100相同,除了扬声器电话200没有通过电缆250直接与陆地线路260相连以外。相反,扬声器电话200通过扬声器电话200上的天线252和基站256上的天线254之间的无线电链接与陆地线路电话网络260相连。基站256利用电缆250直接与陆地线路电话网络260相连。扬声器电话100和基站256之间的连接是多种射频技术之一。射频技术可以是具有语音加密的2.4GHzWDTC技术,或900MHz射频连接。扬声器电话200的其它所有功能与图1所示的相同。例如,扬声器电话200具有相同的麦克风202、204和206,相同的扬声器212和214、电子模块220以及能够通过电缆236和插头232和234与蜂窝电话手持机240相连的插孔230。
仍然参考图2所示的实施例,由电池(未示出)对扬声器电话200供电,因此在扬声器电话200和电话网络之间没有电线。可以将该扬声器电话200设置在会议室的任意位置,无需缠绕电线。该扬声器电话200具有附加插孔230,用于通过蜂窝电话手持机240进行无线连接。在这种场合中,扬声器电话200不与基站256进行通信。因此,利用蜂窝电话手持机和电池供电的扬声器电话能够在蜂窝电话能够连接到系统的任意位置进行高质量的会议电话。此外,如果无线手持机240是卫星电话,则能够在看得到天空的任意地方举行全功能电话会议。

图3示出了本发明的另一个实施例。除了具有附加到扬声器电话300本身的电缆336以外,其与图1和图2中的实施例类似。在电缆336的另一端,有能够插入蜂窝电话手持机340的插头334。优选的插头是标准的2.5mm蜂窝电话头戴式送受话机连接器。在本实施例中,不需要有另外的带两个连接器电缆,这样在使用时,就不会丢失用于连接扬声器电话-蜂窝电话的电缆。
图4示出了标准2.5mm蜂窝电话头戴式送受话机连接器和电缆450、扬声器电话上的插孔430(扬声器电话未示出)和无线电话手持机440。有三条电线或三个触点来进行三种连接。一种连接针对一个信号,包括用于麦克风(431,441和451)的信号、用于扬声器(433,443,453)的信号和用于公共地(435,445,455)的信号。当将插头插入扬声器电话上的插孔430中时,用于麦克风和扬声器的触点431和433分别微微移动并机械地断开电话电缆(例如350)和扬声器电话(300)中的电子模块(例如320)之间的连接。
除了标准2.5mm蜂窝电话头戴式送受话机连接以外,根据本发明的另一个实施例,还可以使用另一个插孔/连接器。参考图5,该连接器可以是四线连接器510。四个线或触点是:一个511用于电源,一个514用于地,中间两个512和513用于数据信号。这种连接器的实例是标准USB连接器。现在,许多蜂窝电话不仅能够发送模拟语音信号,还能够利用数字信号,通过USB连接器与例如笔记本电脑或PDA的其它电子设备进行通信。
USB连接器的添加可以更容易地将蜂窝电话与扬声器电话相连,提供附加数字数据,其数字数据可用于传播其它信息,例如控制信息、帐单信息和与在会议电话期间讨论的文件相关的其它数据。
本发明不仅可以应用于窄带蜂窝电话,还能够应用于宽带蜂窝电话。
在本发明中,插座或插孔是电子电路中用于插头与其它电路进行连接的阴接头。插头是用于进行连接的对应阳接头。电缆可以具有两个或更多插头以及多条电线,从而对于多个电子路径进行连接。插头可以与图4所示的相同,其中两个插头均是标准2.5mm立体声插头。插头可以具有不同的尺寸,甚至不同类型,从而适合连接扬声器电话和无线电话手持机。
