Abstract

制造液体包装容器用的包装层压材料,它有一个内纤维材料层(5),其外有液密材料层(6)和(7),并有一个为在成品容器上作装饰或类似标志的彩色层(8)。彩色层用电子照射硬化,为保护内纤维层(5)避免辐射影响,层压材料还有一位子内纤维层和彩色承印塑料层之间的材料层(14)。其所用材料可在电子照射时吸收电子。

Description

本发明涉及用于制造液密包装容器的包装层压材料,这种层压材料中至少有一层纸,或相等的纤维材料,例如是纸板等,还有外塑料层,在其中一个外塑料层有可用电子照射固化的彩色层。本发明还涉及利用这种包装层压材料制造液体包装容器(例如容放牛奶的容器)的使用,并涉及用这种包装压层材料制造的包装容器。
在包装技术中,用包装层压材料制造不回收包装,已有很长的历史,层压材料有一个或多个纸质或硬纸板的载体层,该载体层有内外的热塑性塑料的包覆层,上述热塑性塑料如聚乙烯。这种所谓不回收包装的包装层压材料,常常还设有上述以外的其他材料的压层,诸如铝箔或塑料层等。
包装层压材料组成的设计,是产生对包装物品尽可能最好的保护,当然同时要求使用者携带简便。一方面具有机械强度,防止包装物品受机械性损坏,另一方面使包装形状相当稳定,携带无困难,而可用手提拿,这类包装常设有纸质或纸板的载体层,给予包装固定的形状和机械强度。但是这种载体层没有气密性或液密性,遇水汽或液体时将其吸入材料内,材料便失去适当的刚性。为了给材料提供良好的液密性,常和塑料材料层压,例如是热塑性塑料(如聚乙烯),还可以利用热和压力将塑料层互相密封(即所谓热密封),这样,包装容器可以密封,使即定的形状长期不变。因为叠层材料片有热塑性塑料包覆,互相用热封接,成 为严密的、机械强度高的封口。
上述类型的包装容器常常用预先冲剪的料坯制造,或用卷筒纸幅制造,该纸幅上有适当的广告图案和/或说明,并有折叠线形状,以便折叠成形。包装容器用这种卷筒纸制作时,将重叠的纸幅纵边互相连接,形成管状,然后装入包装物品,再分割成各个包装,封闭容器时将重叠的和纸管纵轴线垂直的横向密封线封闭。管状材料中的包装材料,经过适当的折叠成形后,变为要求的几何形状,通常,在管状包装容器上作纵向折叠线,并且在包装容器的角上,形成双层的三角形折耳,制成平行六面体。已知的平行六面体包装容器中,可以一提的有特特拉布里克(Tetra    Brik)的包装容器,包装诸如牛奶之类,主要用作液体或半液体的奶产品的包装,但也可以包装其他类饮料,如果汁等。
由于不回收包装容器的市场发展非常迅速,便产生一个不可避免的要求(来自用户的要求也不少),要求在包装容器上设置某种类型的视觉标志,形式例如彩色图案,并带有文字和/数字,表示某一容器和其他“十分相似”的容器的区别,并清楚指出包装物品的质量,包装日期,储藏方法等等。这种广告性和/或说明性的标志,主要在制造包装层压材料时制作,作为举例而言,将两面有塑料包层、并压有折印线的连续包装容器料坯,引入一对互相邻近的旋转辊的缝隙中通过,一对转辊之一作为蘸墨辊,将油墨按要求的标志的相应图形,印在纸幅的一侧上,而一对转辊中之另一个起支承辊作用,按传统的印刷技术支承从辊上通过的纸幅的另一侧,这时将印刷完的纸幅卷成完成纸卷,或分割成各个的包装容器料坯,以备向包装机输送,进行包装容器的成形、灌装和封闭。由于在印刷车间中印刷装饰或图形时,生产量非常高,因此一个重要的要求常常是:使用的油墨的成分,必须是适于在纸幅上快干或快硬化的类型,在将纸幅卷卷起或分割成各个的容器料坯以前干燥或硬化。这要求可用已知的电子束(EB)硬化型油墨成分实现,油墨成分中含有 可用电子照射硬化的单体和/或低聚物,在这种情况下,用有足够强度的电子束照射纸幅的印刷侧,便可作基本为瞬时的“干燥”(硬化)。在本方法的各种优点中,还可举出其硬化彩印层的出众的耐磨性,耐磨性的取得是通过电子对印刷的油墨成分照射,激发硬化反应的结果。但是,目前形式的电子照射印刷术,并不是完美的,实际上也有缺点,至少有部分缺点,据信是由不利的辐射效果引起的,进一步还可能损害这种印有图饰的包装压层材料制造的包装容器的严密性。在不牵涉任何一种特定科学理论时,合理地假设是必须给予照射电子一定能量才能激发硬化作用,于是有足够大的能量穿透被照射的外塑料层,进入下面的纤维层,结果纤维层中发生某些分子裂解,和/或结构变化。因此,发现已知包装层压材料中的纸质层,经这样照射后,防潮性受严重损坏,结果层压材料的湿度敏感性增高,而制造储藏液体的包装容器的可用性降低。
本发明的包装层压材料可以克服上述缺点,该层压材料除有纤维材料层和上述彩印塑料层外,并在这两层之间有一涂层,它有吸收电子的性能。比较试验表明,用这种包装层压材料制造的盛放液体的包装容器,和已知技术中的包装层压材料制造的同类包装容器比较,其将液体吸入包装材料的倾向较小。这样,以上面的假设作背景,必须解释为本发明的包装层压材料的额外涂层可以保护下面的纤维层,在彩印时,防止在包装层压材料上照射的电子渗透,影响纤维层结构。
下文将参照附图,对发明作详细说明。

图1显示用于制造灌注后封闭的包装容器的连续容器料坯L的纸幅1的一个部分,容器属于用包装机制造的类型,通过将纸幅的纵边折叠封接形成管状,注入包装物品,然后通过横向密封,在密封区域中横切,分成各个的封闭包装容器。这种已知的包装容器如图3所示,用号2总的表示,一般称为特特拉布里克(Tetra    Brik)包装。
为了便于将包装层压材料1制成平行六面体形的包装容器2的,包装材料1上设有若干纵向伸展的折叠线3(或所谓的压印),及相应数目的横向折叠线4,4′,以便形成容器的相应底盖和上盖。
包装材料1可用若干层次叠压在一起,层次的数目和组合,可决定于包装物品的不同类型。举例中用包装材料1制造的包装容器,例如用于盛放牛奶,因此,包装材料和已知的这类材料相似,有一个刚性纤维材料的内基础层5,如纸或纸板等制造,有外层6和7,为液密材料,例如聚乙烯等塑料(见图2)。如前面所述,包装材料1还有一个外彩印层,其类型为按预定的图形印就,然后通过电子照射硬化或干燥,目的在于完成的容器上制造永久性标志或装饰。
EB(电子束)硬化油墨成分,对精于本技艺领域者属于已知,因此不需详述,但可用的油墨成分,典型为含单体和/或低聚物类型,在足够强度(例如10毫拉德以下)的电子照射下,基本瞬时“干燥”(硬化)。典型实用辐射剂量可为3毫拉德。
根据传统技术,彩印层通常用所谓胶版印刷印在包装材料上,使用的设备如图4所简示。将进行彩印的包装材料1,从一个卷筒9中放出,从互相紧靠的两个旋转辊10及11之间的缝隙中通过,一个辊10用其表面将油墨从墨槽(未示),转移到包装材料1的一侧,而另一辊作为支承辊用。由于辊10的表面各部分,按需要的图形,安排为有交替的着墨性和拒墨性,因此可能将在辊10表面上着墨的图形,向经过的包装材料1上复印。然后将包装材料1引导,进一步通过发射电子束的辐射源12, 电子束在包装材料1的彩印包覆层侧的方向上,要求的电子束强度举例为3毫拉德,结果,包装材料上的印墨成分,基本为瞬息时间内硬化,形成永久性彩色图案。最后,将包装材料1卷成卷筒13,以备运输,或供给包装机,制造包装容器2。
前文已有提及,所述的印刷方法,当应用于传统类型的包装材料时,有某些缺点,设想是由于经过照射的材料有结构变化,尤其是内纤维基础层,主要由于渗透的电子的作用,导致包装材料的质量受损。具体在于发现包装材料增高了对潮湿的敏感,表明包装材料经过这种照射处理,比处理前有较高的吸湿性,较大地损害包装材料制造液体包装容器的可用性。
但是,根据本发明,发现这种已知技术的缺点借助于设置涂层14(图2)很易消除,涂层14放在内纤维5和上面有彩印层8的外液密层7之间。为此,制造涂层14的材料,可吸收用于将加在彩印塑料层7上的彩色成分硬化的电子,根据本发明所提出,这种材料层可含粘合剂和颜料的混合物。粘合剂可作举例提出的有:苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物,聚丙烯酸乙烯,聚醋酸乙烯酯和淀粉,各单独应用或互相组合,而颜料中可含有高岭土(瓷土),碳酸钙,和二氧化钛,各单独使用或作适当的组合使用。这类适当的混合物,举例而言可以是用水分散的含粘合剂12%和颜料76%;粘合剂中含苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物,聚醋酸乙烯酯和淀粉,颜料中含高岭土,二氧化钛,和碳酸钙。层14应有足够的厚度,可吸收强度可能达到10毫拉德的电子束,一般用这样强度电子束来硬化EB(电子束)硬化油墨成分,根据本发明发现,涂层的厚度超过5克/米2便可满足要求,最好在10到30克/米2之间。
本发明的图2所示类型的包装材料1,作为举例可按下述制造,一个诸如纸质的纤维材料纸幅,上有折叠线3,4,4′,有上述类型的水分散的粘合剂和颜料位于纸幅的一侧,其数量相于干重5克/米2以上,例 如10-30克/米2,然后在两侧包覆挤压成型塑料薄膜,形成液密层6及7。加彩印装饰的过程,按上文参照图4所述的方法进行。
在实验时,用本发明的包装层压材料,和相应的已知的包装层压材料比较,求知按上述电子照射进行硬化对材料性质的影响。选定了各种层压材料在作该类照射前后,所谓的边缘吸液量(克/米·小时),作为对比性能。
标准溶液包括23℃的含1%乳酸的液体,将相当于边缘长度1公尺的压层材料切成薄片,在其中浸没,测定增加的重量(液体吸入量),用以和未照射的层压材料的同量切片的相应增重比较。在这试验中,每一次的包装压层材料都含有杜普勒克斯(Duplex)品种的纸板,在第一例中层压材料没有保护层,第二例中含有颜料,第三例设有本发明15克/米的保护层。试验结果列于下表:

从表中明显可见,两种已知的包装材料在电子照射后,吸液量增加很大,而本发明包装材料的吸液量完全没有变化。

3、如权利要求2中之包装层压材料,其特征为粘合剂选自苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物,聚丙烯酸乙烯酯,聚醋酸乙烯酯和淀粉或其混合物,而颜料选自高岭土(瓷土),碳酸钙和二氧化钛,或其混合物。
4、如前述权利要求中任何一权利要求之包装压层材料,其特征为所用涂层材料(14)的量,为至少5克/米,最好在10至30克/米之间。
5、如权利要求4中之包装压层材料,其特征为加在纤维层上的涂层(14),其形式为水分散体,其中有重量为12%的粘合剂,和重量为76%的颜料。
6、使用由包括至少有一个纤维层,它带有两外塑料层(6和7);在一外塑料层上有可用电子照射硬化的彩色层(8),一个涂层(14)位置在彩色承印塑料层(7)和纤维层(5)之间,可吸收向彩色塑料层发射而使彩色层硬化的电子的包装层压材料制造盛放液体的包装容器。
7、一种盛放液体的包装容器,其特征为用包装层压材料制造,层压材料中至少有一个带有两外塑料层(6及7)的纤维材料层(5),在一个外塑料层上有一个彩色承印层,用电子在该塑料层上照射可使彩色承印层硬化,一个位于纤维层(5)和彩色层(7)之间的涂层,制造涂层所用的材料,可吸收向彩色承印塑料层发射而将彩色层硬化的电子。
