背景技术
本发明涉及便携式移动通信设备和系统,更具体地涉及可控制接收自移动广播服务的分发广播信号的的便携式移动通信设备、系统和方法。 
便携式移动通信设备(例如移动电话)正变得愈加复杂,并包括很多新的特征和性能。其中一个特征就是能接收移动广播信号、移动电视之类的服务。这样的服务包括数字视频手持广播(DVB-H)、数字媒体广播(DMB)、地面综合业务数字广播(ISDB-T)、移动广播多播服务(MBMS),或其他类似的技术。当其集成到移动电话中时,所有上述技术除了MBMS之外都利用独立的移动广播调谐器,MBMS可利用便携式移动通信设备现有的移动无线接收器和发射器进行接收。 
移动广播服务提供商带宽受限于有限数量的、可在任意给定时刻进行广播的信道。但是,可能存在移动用户仅对广播业务(offerings)的特定子集感兴趣的情况。在这些情况下,用户希望请求移动广播服务提供商在有限的带宽频谱上将要广播的信道。 
目前,没有方法处理用户的上述困境。所需要的是允许用户从移动广播服务提供商处请求特定信道的机制。 
发明内容
根据本发明的实施例,公开了一种从移动广播服务提供商处请求内容的方法,其中移动广播服务提供商保持多种可广播到便携式移动通信设备的内容业务。该方法包括在便携式移动通信设备上产生订阅简档,其包括来自由移动广播服务提供商提供的内容的被请求内容。订阅简档被发送到移动广播服务提供商,从而移动广播服务提供商可集合该被请求内容到多个时间复用信道。接着,该多个时间复用信道被广播到便携式移动通信设备。然后,便携式移动通信设备解复用该请求内容的时间复用信道以显示该被请求内容。

从移动广播服务提供商的角度看,可以有多种方法用于接收和处理来自便携式移动通信设备的用户的信道内容请求。

另一种方法可基于来自便携式移动通信设备110的投票计算。在该方法中,每个便携式移动通信设备给其所希望接收的内容投票。移动广播服务器120接收投票并周期性地计算投票和根据所接收的票数而给其提供的内容分等级。其后,移动广播服务提供商120在每个信道上集合最受欢迎的内容,直到移动广播服务提供商120可用的带宽耗尽。内容集合的信道然后被以时间复用的方式广播到便携式移动通信设备110。然后,每个便携式移动通信设备110可观看内容。

任何合适的计算机可读介质都可以利用。计算机可用或计算机可读介质可以是但不局限于例如电子的、磁的、光学的、电磁的、红外的或半导体系统、装置、设备或传播介质。计算机可读介质的更具体的例子(非穷举列表)包括如下:具有一条或多条导线的电连接,便携式计算机盘片,硬盘,随机访问存储器(RAM),只读存储器(ROM),可擦可编程只读存储器(EPROM或闪存),光纤,便携式光盘只读存储器(CD-ROM),光存储设备,传输介质(如支持互联网或内联网的传输介质),或磁存储设备。应当注意,当程序可以通过例如光扫描纸张或其他介质被电子获得,接着进行编译、翻译或如果需要的话用其他合适的方式进行处理,然后存储到计算机存储器中,那么计算机可用或计算机可读介质甚至可以是其上打印程序的纸张或其他合适的介质。在本文的上下文中,计算机可用或计算机可读介质可以是能够包含、存储、通信、传播或传输用于或连接到指令执行系统、设备或装置的任何介质。 
用于执行本发明的操作的计算机程序代码可以例如Java、smalltalk、C++等面向对象的编程语言编写。但是,用于执行本发明操作的计算机程序代码也可用传统过程语言(如“C”编程语言或其他类似的编程语言)来编写。程序代码可整体地在用户的计算机上、部分地在用户的计算机上、作为独立的软件包、部分地在用户的计算机上并且部分地在远程计算机上或者整体地在远程计算机或服务器上执行。在后面的方案中,远程计算机可通过局域网(LAN)或广域网(WAN)连接到用户的计算机,或者可以建立到外部计算机的连接(如使用互联网服务提供商  通过互联网)。 
本发明可以参照根据本发明实施例的方法、装置(系统)和计算机程序产品的流程图说明和/或框图来描述。可以理解的是,流程图说明和/或框图的每个功能块以及流程图说明和/或框图中功能块的组合可由计算机程序指令来实现。这些计算机程序指令可提供给通用计算机的、专用计算机或其他制造机器的可编程数据处理装置的处理器,使得通过计算机或其他可编程数据处理装置的处理器执行的这些指令产生用于实现流程图和/或框图功能块中指定的功能/动作的方法。 
这些计算机程序指令也可存储在计算机可读存储器中,其可指示计算机或其他可编程数据处理装置以特定方式发挥作用,使得存储在计算机可读存储器中的这些指令产生包括指令装置的制品,所述指令装置实现流程图和/或框图功能块中指定的功能/动作。 
计算机程序指令也可装载到计算机或其他可编程数据处理装置以引发一系列在计算机或其他可编程装置上执行的操作步骤,产生计算机实现的过程,使得执行在计算机或其他可编程装置上的这些指令提供用于实现流程图和/或框图功能块中指定的功能/动作的步骤。

Claims (3)

1.一种从移动广播服务提供商处请求内容的方法,其中移动广播服务提供商广播内容到便携式移动通信设备,该方法包括:
由便携式移动通信设备发送订阅简档到移动广播服务提供商,该订阅简档包括来自提供给移动广播服务提供商广播的内容的、便携式移动通信设备偏好的内容,移动广播服务提供商为许多便携式移动通信设备接收并保持订阅简档;
确定所述许多便携式移动通信设备中的哪些当前被连接到移动广播服务提供商,所述确定基于以下子步骤:
(a)便携式移动通信设备打开其关联的移动广播接收器;
(b)便携式移动通信设备信号处理器产生指示移动广播接收器已激活的消息;以及
(c)便携式移动通信设备将该消息发送到移动广播服务提供商可获取该消息的位置;
仅集合来自当前连接到移动广播服务提供商的便携式移动通信设备的偏好的内容到多个时间复用的信道;
当前连接到移动广播服务提供商的便携式移动通信设备从移动广播服务提供商处接收广播,所述广播包括偏好内容的时间复用的信道;和
当前连接到移动广播服务提供商的便携式移动通信设备解复用偏好内容的时间复用的信道,使得每个便携式移动通信设备可显示关联的偏好内容。
2.一种提供从移动广播服务提供商到便携式移动通信设备的所请求内容的方法,其中移动广播服务提供商广播内容到便携式移动通信设备,该方法包括:
接收来自至少一个便携式移动通信设备的内容请求,该内容请求是针对移动广播服务提供商广播的;
探测便携式移动通信设备当前是否正在接收来自移动广播服务提供商的广播,所述探测基于以下子步骤:
(a)便携式移动通信设备打开其关联的移动广播接收器;
(b)便携式移动通信设备信号处理器产生指示移动广播接收器已激活的消息;以及
(c)便携式移动通信设备将该消息发送到移动广播服务提供商可获取该消息的位置;
根据当前正在接收来自移动广播服务提供商的广播的便携式移动通信设备的内容请求,集合所请求内容到多个时间复用的信道;和
广播集合的所请求内容的所述多个时间复用的信道。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述内容请求是订阅简档的一部分,该订阅简档还包括便携式移动通信设备的标识信息。
