技术领域
本发明涉及由发光二极管(LED)灯泡替代用于照明的灯泡,而且尤其涉及有效去除LED生成的热量以使替代灯泡可与被替代灯泡的光输出相当。
背景技术
由半导体结构成的LED,由电流流过该结引起发光。乍一看,好像LED应当能够对传统的钨丝白炽灯做极好的替代。在等量功率上,它们给出比白炽灯多得多的光输出,同样地,它们使用少得多的功率发出等量的光;而且它们的使用寿命是更大数量级的,即1-10万小时vs.1-2千小时。
然而,LED有若干缺点导致它们至今还未被广泛采用作为白炽灯的替代。其中主要的是,虽然对于某一给定的光输出来说LED比白炽灯需要少得多的功率,但它还是使用很多瓦数才能生成足够照明用的光。而白炽灯泡中的钨丝在大概3000°(度)K的温度上工作,由于LED是半导体,不能忍受比约120℃更热的温度。因而LED具有一个重要的热量问题:如果像白炽灯那样工作在真空中,或者即使在空气中,它就会迅速变得过热并停止工作。这已将可用的LED灯泡限制到了非常低的功率(即还不到大概3W),导致不足以替代白炽灯的照明。
对于这个问题一种可能的解决办法是使用大型的金属散热片,附着到LED上。这个散热片从灯泡向外延伸,去除LED发出的热量。这种解决办法不受欢迎,而且事实上未经尝试,因为一般的用户不会使用形状根本不同于白炽灯泡传统形状的灯泡;而且散热片使灯泡不可能适合现有的固定件。
这个发明的目的是开发利用发光二极管(LED)的发光设备,以便有效地解决上述主要问题。目标在于提供一种具有多个LED的白炽灯照明的替代灯泡,该替代灯泡光输出强度与白炽灯泡相等,而且其耗散的功率从LED中有效去除以便不超出它们最大的额定温度。该设备包括灯泡形状的外壳,优选由塑料比如聚碳酸酯形成。该外壳可能是透明的,或者可能包含分散在其中以分散光线的材料,使它看起来没有点光源,而且还可能包含分散在其中的材料将LED光微带蓝的颜色变成带较多黄的颜色,酷似正常的白炽灯泡发出的光。
发明内容
根据一个实施例,LED灯泡包括:灯泡形状的外壳、以及基座,其中基座被形成为插入到电插口内所需的尺寸。
根据另一个实施例,一种制造LED灯泡的方法包括:建造灯泡形状的塑料外壳;用一种塑料填充该外壳,其中该塑料是导热材料;在固化该塑料之前安装至少一个LED在该塑料中;并且固化该塑料。

现在将详细参考本发明的优选实施例,其示例在所附图形中图示说明。在任何可能的地方,在图形和说明书中使用的相同的附图标记是指相同或类似的部件。
图1是LED替代灯泡10的横截面视图,示出按照一个实施例安置在一种塑料中的LED的发光部分。如图1所示,LED替代灯泡10包括拧入式基座20、塑料外壳30、包含透明或半透明导热材料的内部40,可能是任何合适的塑料60、以及至少一个LED50。可理解的是外壳30(或外罩)可能是任何形状,或者其他任何用于灯泡的常规或装饰形状,包括但不限于球形、圆柱、以及“火焰”形状的外壳30。作为另一选择,外壳30可以是管状构件,如荧光灯或其他设计中所用的。
拧入式基座20包括一系列螺纹22和基座插销24。将该拧入式基座20构造成适合放在标准电插口内并且与其进行电接触。该电插口优选的是形成接收现有技术所知的白炽或其他标准灯泡所需的尺寸。然而,可理解的是可以将拧入式基座20改成适合放在任一被构造成接收白炽灯泡的电插口内的基座,比如卡口型基座。拧入式基座20通过它的螺纹22和它的基座插销24与插口中的AC电源进行电接触。在拧入式基座20里边有电源器件(未示出)将AC电源转换成适合驱动至少一个LED50的形式。

优选的是该灯泡形状的外壳30由一种塑料形成,液体塑料或类似塑料的材料,比如聚碳酸酯。然而,可理解的是外壳30可以由任何合适的塑料来构造。另外,优选的是外壳30是透明的,然而,可理解的是该外壳还可以包含遍布外壳30的分散材料32。优选的是将分散材料32构造成分散从LED50的发光部分52发出的光。对来自发光部分52的光源进行分散使灯泡10看起来没有点光源或与多个LED50一起的多个点光源。可理解的是外壳30还可以包含分散材料32来辅助将典型LED管芯微带蓝的颜色变成带较多黄的颜色,酷似普通白炽灯泡发出的光。

如图1所示,外壳30填充有导热塑料60,比如液体塑料或其他合适的材料。在一个优选实施例中,塑料60在比可导致LED50损坏的温度低的温度上固化。塑料60还可能与该外壳的材料相同。塑料60还可能是一种胶体。在使用期间,塑料60作为将至少一个LED50生成的热能向外壳30转移的措施,在外壳处可以通过辐射和对流去除它,如普通白炽灯泡中那样。塑料60可以是透明的,或者可能包含一种分散材料62以辅助分散LED50的发光部分52发出的光。分散材料使灯泡10看起来没有点光源或与多个LED50在一起的多个点光源。另外,分散在塑料60中的分散材料62可能被用来将LED50的发光部分52略带蓝的颜色变成带较多黄的颜色,酷似普通白炽灯泡发出的光。优选的是塑料60电绝缘。
优选的是在固化塑料之前或在添加塑料之前将至少一个LED50安装在该塑料中。一旦将至少一个LED50安装到塑料60中,不过仍然是在固化之前,就将用来给LED50供电的电触点引出。该引线被连接到LED50的电源,典型的是该电源包括在灯泡10的其余部分里边。优选的是将该电源设计成与现有设计兼容,以便灯泡10直接替代传统灯泡而无需对现有固定件进行任何更改。灯泡10具有安置于其上的金属触点,这些金属触点将向至少一个LED50的电源提供电力。

Claims (130)

1.一种LED灯泡,包括:
灯泡形状的外壳;
该灯泡形状的外壳内的导热塑料;
该灯泡形状的外壳内的至少一个LED;以及
拧入式基座,该基座包括一系列螺纹以及基座插销,其中将这些螺纹和该基座插销形成插入到标准电插口内所需的尺寸。
2.如权利要求1中所述的LED灯泡,其中该外壳是塑料的。
3.如权利要求1中所述的LED灯泡,其中将该至少一个LED的至少一部分安置在该塑料内。
4.如权利要求1中所述的LED灯泡,其中该至少一个LED通过薄外壳壁热连接到该塑料上。
