发明背景
水力压裂通常需要使用能够从低渗透性的地层中提高流体和天然气的产量的钻井处理材料。在典型的水力压力处理中,将含有固体支撑剂的压裂处理液在足够高的压力下注入到地层中,从而在储层中造成裂缝或者裂缝的扩大。裂缝从井眼向外辐射,通常从数米至数百米,并且扩大了油或气排入到井的表面积。支撑剂沉积在裂缝中,在处理结束后留在那里。沉积之后,支撑剂用于防止裂缝闭合以及形成从井眼到待被处理的地层延伸的传导性通道。这样,支撑剂提高了流体或天然气通过裂缝从地层到井眼迁移的能力。

通常期望压裂流体在进入裂缝时粘度达到最大。大多数压裂流体的粘度可归因于流体中例如粘弹性表面活性剂或增粘性聚合物的增粘剂的存在。常规的增粘性聚合物包括如半乳糖甘露聚糖和纤维素衍生物这样的水溶性多糖。在压裂流体中交联剂,例如一种含有硼酸盐(或者产生硼酸盐),钛酸盐,或锆离子的交联剂的存在,可以进一步增加粘度。凝胶状压裂流体增加的粘度同时影响裂缝的长度和宽度,并且使得支撑剂置于产生的裂缝中。
近来,在低渗透性地层的增产中,人们开始使用不含有粘弹性表面活性剂或增粘性聚合物的低粘度流体(例如水,盐水和减阻水)。这类地层也已知为致密地层(包括呈现出复杂天然裂缝网络的气密性页岩储层)。为了有效接近致密地层,钻井通常是水平钻入,并且随后使其经历一次或更多次压裂处理以增加产量。使用低粘度流体延伸形成的裂缝比经历较高粘度流体的裂缝呈现出较小的裂缝宽度,这导致形成从中烃可流入高传导性裂缝通路的较大裂缝面积。在低渗透性储层中,通常认为裂缝面积与裂缝增产的有效性成比例。因此,通常优选低粘度流体用于气密性页岩储层的增产。
减阻水流体主要为淡水或盐水,其具有足够减阻剂以减小管束摩擦压力。通常,这类流体的粘度仅仅比未掺杂的淡水或盐水略高;典型地,减阻水中存在的减阻剂使压裂流体粘度的增加不超过1至2CP。这类流体比含有增粘剂的常规压裂流体便宜许多。另外,它们的低粘度特性促进了增产过程中储层内降低的裂缝高度增长。此外,鉴于流体中不存在增粘性聚合物和/或粘弹性表面活性剂,这类流体对地层造成的破坏较小。
尽管在低渗透性地层增产中需要使用低粘度流体,但是由于支撑剂在流体到达井口之前始终沉降在歧管(manifold)管线内,因此,已经证明泵送含有支撑剂的减阻水流体成本高昂。当压裂流体中含有较高浓度的支撑剂和/或使用的支撑剂具有超过2.45的ASG时,这种情形特别明显。这类材料在流体到达井口前非常可能沉降在歧管内。由于支撑剂沉降受到处理液粘度的影响,需要高的泵送速度以阻止沉降。然而,在某些条件下,由于沉降也取决于支撑剂的尺寸和比重,仅依靠速度不足以阻止沉降。另外,由于管线具有不同的尺寸,仅修正一个区域的流体泵送速度可能并不能解决另一区域的问题。
除了支撑剂在歧管管线中的沉降,还存在支撑剂沉降在泵的流体端内的实际危险。在泵内,活塞在正弦波模式下运动。这样,活塞运动慢,然后较快,然后慢,且然后瞬间停止。所述过程对每个活塞重复。支撑剂在泵的壳体内的沉降,可能在活塞试图运动时损害活塞,或者挤碎支撑剂。当支撑剂由高抗压强度的材料例如陶瓷组成时,这尤其是个问题。
在井眼水平部分内来自低粘度处理流体的支撑剂沉降也是关注的。由于淤浆流速不足和/或粘度不够,无法悬浮支撑剂,可发生这样的沉降。在水平井眼内过量的支撑剂沉降可能需要在达到设置的所需体积之前中止压裂处理。为了缓解沉降问题,通常采用高泵送速度以使在水平井眼部分内传输的支撑剂有效悬浮。然而,高泵送速率可能导致比所需处理压力较高的压力和过度的裂缝高度增加。
因此,需要寻找替代的含有支撑剂的压裂流体,其可以提供减阻水在气密性储层的优势,但不会对泵送装置造成损害,或者不允许支撑剂在水平井眼内沉降。
发明概述
一种在气密性储层具有特殊应用的压裂方法,所述方法包括:将水和增粘聚合物,交联剂以及支撑剂在混合器中混合;且将粘性流体注入井口。在从约80℉至约125℉的温度范围内,典型地,在混合期间压裂流体的粘度介于约10至约120cP。在将悬浮的支撑剂泵送至井口时,地面增加的粘度(在混合期间)保护了地面的装置。另外,压裂流体的粘性性能使得流体能够将支撑剂运送至井眼中的穿孔点,并且将沉降降至最小。
压裂流体中的可水合聚合物的负载量从约6至约18pptg,优选从约6至约12pptg。压裂流体中低的增粘聚合物的负载量造成流体粘度一进入穿孔点入口后迅速降低。
即使设有破碎剂,流体是热敏性的并且快速分解,因此从穿孔点起100英尺内流体粘度不高于约5cP,通常不高于约3cP。
优选增粘性聚合物是可水合聚合物,其包括半乳糖甘露聚糖胶,瓜尔胶,衍生的瓜尔胶,纤维素和纤维素衍生物,淀粉,淀粉衍生物,黄原胶,黄原胶衍生物以及它们的混合物。特别优选的增粘性聚合物是特性粘度大于约14dL/g,更典型大于16dL/g的衍生和未衍生的瓜尔胶。

优选实施方案详述
本发明定义的压裂方法,使用将水性流体,可水合聚合物,交联剂以及支撑剂(和缓冲剂,如果需要)在混合器中一起混合制备的压裂流体。混合通常在不工作时(on-the-fly)发生。当流体从混合器中泵送至井口时,形成足够大的粘度而使得支撑剂不趋向于从流体中沉降。这样,支撑剂在歧管管线和泵壳体内的沉降减少至最小(至任意沉降发生到的程度)。因此,与减阻水流体不同,此处所述的压裂流体使得泵送失败最小或对活塞和/或泵的歧管造成的损害最小。

特别优选的是2005年12月8日公开的U.S.专利公开No.20050272612所提出的那些衍生和非衍生的瓜尔胶,在此通过引用并入本发明。这类衍生和非衍生的瓜尔胶的特征在于特性粘度大于约14dL/g,更典型地大于16dL/g。这种粘度表明比通常观察到的衍生和非衍生的瓜尔胶的分子量高。通过改进用于将瓜耳豆片(种子胚乳)转换为精细粉末的处理条件而得到所述瓜尔胶。

在优选的实施方案中,交联剂是硼酸盐离子源,例如供硼酸盐离子的材料。硼酸盐基交联剂的实例包括,但不限于,有机硼酸盐,单硼酸盐,多硼酸盐,无机硼酸盐,等等。
为了获得期望的pH值,优选地将聚合物加入到水性流体之后,再向水性流体中加入pH调节材料。用于调节pH的典型材料是通常使用的酸,酸缓冲液以及酸和碱的混合物。通常,期望的pH介于约9.5至约11.5之间。因此,典型地,期望可使用为流体有效提供pH的缓冲剂。合适的缓冲剂材料包括碳酸钾或碳酸钾和氢氧化钾的混合物。

实施例1

如前所述,可以看出,在不偏离本发明的新型的思想的真实精神和范围下,可实施许多变化和修正。
Claims (27)
1.一种压裂被井眼穿入的地下地层的方法,所述方法包括下列步骤:
通过在混合器中一起混合水性流体,可水合聚合物,交联剂以及支撑剂配制粘性压裂流体,其中压裂流体中可水合聚合物的负载量为6至18磅每千加仑(pptg);
将粘性压裂流体从混合器泵送至井眼并且经过井眼中的入口处泵注入储层;和
在粘性压裂流体的表观粘度由入口处向远侧降低的同时在储层内延伸裂缝;
其中在延伸裂缝期间使得至少一种下列条件在现场条件下是普遍的:
(a)距入口处100英尺的压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的10%;
(b)在注入入口处后15分钟压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的15%;或
(c)在通过入口处被注入后15分钟内压裂流体的表观粘度小于10cP。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中在距入口处100英尺的压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的10%。
3.权利要求2的方法,其中在距入口处100英尺的压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的粘度的5%。
4.权利要求1的方法,其中在距入口处200英尺的流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的粘度的1%。
5.权利要求1的方法,其中地下地层为页岩。
6.权利要求1的方法,其中地下地层为气密性地层。
7.权利要求1的方法,其中水性流体中可水合聚合物的特性粘度大于14g/dL。
8.权利要求7的方法,其中水性流体中可水合聚合物的特性粘度大于16g/dL。
9.权利要求8的方法,其中压裂流体中可水合聚合物的负载量从8至12pptg。
10.权利要求8的方法,其中压裂流体中可水合聚合物的负载量从6至10pptg。
11.权利要求1的方法,其中可水合聚合物是瓜尔胶,衍生的瓜尔胶或衍生的纤维素。
12.权利要求1的方法,其中交联剂是硼酸盐离子源。
13.权利要求1的方法,其中流体进一步包含为流体有效提供从9.5至11.5范围的pH的缓冲剂。
14.权利要求1的方法,其中将水性流体泵送入井口时,其粘度从10至120cP。
15.权利要求14的方法,其中将水性流体泵送入井口时,其粘度从10至50cP。
16.权利要求11的方法,其中可水合聚合物是未衍生的瓜尔胶。
17.权利要求8的方法,其中可水合聚合物是未衍生的瓜尔胶。
18.权利要求13的方法,其中水性流体还包含至少一种破碎剂。
19.一种压裂被井眼穿入的地下地层的方法,所述方法包括:
a)将含水性流体,可水合聚合物,交联剂以及支撑剂的粘性压裂流体从混合器泵送至井眼的井口并且从井眼中的入口处泵送入储层,其中压裂流体中可水合聚合物的负载量为6至18磅每千加仑(pptg);
b)在储层内延伸裂缝;和
c)在延伸裂缝期间流体的表观粘度由入口处向远侧降低,使得在距入口处100英尺的压裂流体的粘度小于在入口处压裂流体粘度的10%。
20.权利要求19的方法,其中将水性流体泵送入井口时,其粘度为从10至120cP。
21.权利要求19的方法,其中地下地层是页岩。
22.权利要求1的方法,其中在注入入口处后15分钟压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的15%。
23.权利要求22的方法,其中在注入入口处后15分钟压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的10%。
24.权利要求23的方法,其中在注入入口处后30分钟压裂流体的表观粘度小于在入口处压裂流体的表观粘度的5%。
25.权利要求1的方法,其中在通过入口处被注入后15分钟内压裂流体的表观粘度小于10cP。
26.权利要求25的方法,其中在通过入口处被注入后15分钟内压裂流体的表观粘度小于5cP。
27.权利要求26的方法,其中在通过入口处被注入后30分钟内压裂流体的表观粘度小于3cP。
