Abstract

Description
本发明涉及冷镜,特别是当透射红外波长区域的大部分光时能反射可见区域的光的全聚合冷镜,并且它也能设计成能反射透射光谱中紫外区域的光,或者吸收光谱紫外区域的光的冷镜。
在医疗处理、厨窗显示、舞台照明和其它应用的照明体系的生产中存在的问题是红外或紫外光对照明物体的有害作用。发射红外辐射的光源可使被照明物体发热,这经常是不希望有的并且是有害的。例如象红宝石和珍珠之类的珠宝都含有一定量的水分,如果照射珠宝的光的红外热使湿气损失,珠宝就会失去它们的光泽。
发射紫外辐射的光源也要损害照明物体。例如已经发现,紫外辐射是博物馆和画廊中油画和挂毯褪色的主要因素。一般零售的商品陈列也能受到紫外辐射的损害。再者,光源中紫外和红外辐射的结合甚致可使照明物体能更迅速地降解。
为解决这一问题,开拓了冷镜(亦称冷光镜),它能反射可见波长的光,但能透射较长波长的红外线和较短波的长的紫外线的辐射。冷镜是使光源的可见光反射到被照明的物体上,同时使红外辐射经镜透射,远离物体。这就最大程度地降低对照明物体被加热和潜在的损失。冷镜现广泛用于投影机灯、摄影或戏院照明、美术展品和橱窗照明,以及用在保安及医疗上等。
一般,冷镜包括有高和低折射的奇数无吸收介电材料层,交替涂敷在玻璃基体上。硫化锌和氟化镁是两种常用的介电材料。氧化钛和二氧化硅也可作为介电材料。生产这种冷镜的典型方法是高真空沉积法。
例如英国专利No.1,262,163公开了一种用于电影院投影灯的冷镜,其形成是在玻璃基体上真空沉积了许多干涉层。基体对热辐射是可渗透的,它包括不同的硅、氧化硅的交替层,以及氟化镁和氧化钛的交替层。
用以代替玻璃的是使用金属基体,如美国专利No.3,944,320(McLintic)所述,该专利公开的冷镜包括涂覆了第一和第二有颜料的玻璃涂层和一介电干涉层的金属基体。但因金属要反射红外辐射,该镜要求要加能够吸收红外辐射的黑色玻璃搪瓷。
美国专利No.3,645,601也叙述了一种反射器,它包括一种铝基体,这种铝基体包括反射可见光波长并吸收或扩散红外波长的介电干涉层。
然而,现存技术的主要缺点是它们要求多个分离的加工步骤以沉积介电材料,使用相对昂贵和耗时的真空沉积技术。再者,为了保证在每一基体的整个表面上有均匀的膜厚,需要特别小心操作。一经沉积,涂层和被涂层粘附的基体就不能进一步成型或形成。另外,涂层可被凿、刮和/或腐蚀,应加以保护。所有这些因素都加之于生产的耗费。在玻璃基体上沉积沉积层的需要增加了终产品的厚度和重量。因为必须使用真空沉积技术,构成覆盖大的表面积的沉积层是困难和昂贵的。因此由于困难和昂贵,许多冷镜是相对小的。最后,真空沉积不能用于某些几何形状的零件,例如标准真空沉积技术不能涂覆管子的内部和深的模槽。
另一类冷镜使用二色(多层干涉膜)涂层,典型的是用在钨灯或卤灯的反射器上。这种二色冷镜包括涂有反射可见光的金属膜的玻璃表面,它同时也透射红外光和吸收紫外光。例如美国专利No.4,604,680(Leuin等)叙述了一种为安全用途的红外泛光灯,它使用钨卤光源和包括有多层二氧化钛和二氧化硅用涂覆其上的玻璃基体的二色冷热镜,将红外辐射引向装置的透镜。这种二色反射器已经广泛用于博物馆展品的卤灯中,以防止艺术品长期暴露在紫外辐射下的降解作用。
美国专利No.4,380,794(Lawson)叙述了外种手术用冷镜,它包括将抗高温的聚醚酰亚胺有真空沉积的二色涂层。使用抗高温聚合物以使其能耐受二色涂层在真空涂覆时所遇到的温度。
其它的卤灯以内灯丝管的可见光透射和红外反射涂层而产生较冷的光,内灯丝管将红外辐射反射向灯丝。红外辐射用来维持灯丝温度和产生更多的可见光。但这种灯的生产费用昂贵。
多层聚合物反射膜是已知的,美国专利No.3,711,176(Alfrey,Jr.等)叙述了薄膜技术构造成的多层的高反射热塑体,即由两种或多种不同的热塑性材料制成的反射薄膜层(按Afrey,Jr.)的相长干涉产生电磁谱的反射的可见、紫外或红外光部分。这种反射的薄膜因为膜的彩红色反射质量而被发现可用于装饰。
现存技术中由至少两种不同的聚合材料制成的其它聚合多层反射体也曾有叙述,例如叙述于共同转让的美国专利No.5,122,905(Wheatley等),美国专利No.5,122,906(Wheatley)和美国专利No.5,126,880(Wheatly等)中。但是这些反射体的设计是基本上在整个可见范围的均匀反射和红外范围内的反射。
因此,本领域中仍然存在价廉和容易生产、在反射可见波长光的同时透射红外波长光的冷镜的需要;也需要这样的冷镜,它能形成或弯曲成复杂的形状;它能自支承而不需要玻璃或金属基体来支承以及能叠层在许多其它基体上的冷镜。也存在着被设计来反射或吸收紫外波长的冷镜的需要。
本发明提供的全聚合冷镜满足了这些需要,它的生产成本比以往用的冷镜低,它能形成自支承的板片或者制成叠加在聚合基体或非聚合基体上的薄膜,而且能做成、成型或弯曲成各种复杂的形状。“聚合冷镜”意即包括能反射投在镜面上的大部分可见光,同时又能透射大部分红外光的多层不同聚合物体。
术语“反射的”、“反射比”和“反射”和“反射度”是指有金属外观的聚合体的足够的镜面性质的总反射度(即反射波能量/入射波能量之比率)。使用这些术语欲包括半镜面或者漫射反射。例如冷镜的一面或两面可以压花或做成纹理以漫射由镜面反射或透射的光。一般,反射度测量涉及光线形成集中在镜面角上顶角为15°的出射光锥的反射度。“不同的”(diuerse)一词意即聚合材料除折光指数外不需要有其它方面的不同。因此,相邻的层在化学上可以不同。如这些材料有相同的折光指数,就本发明而言,它们就不是“不同的”。
反射或透射特性强度,(如果使用)指基本上无吸收的波长。例如在本发明的一个具体实施方案中,冷镜的设计是反射波长为280-680nm范围的可见光,而其它波长范围的光(如红外范围)透过冷镜(即被冷镜透射),即反射强度涉及可见光波长。
本发明的一个方面是提供至少有第一和第二不同聚合材料的全聚合冷镜,该冷镜包括足够数目的第一和第二聚合材料的交替层,使入射到冷镜上的波长在380-680nm的反射可见光的峰的至少50%被反射和波长在680-2000nm的红外光的至少50%被透射或吸收。反射可见光的峰意即在可见光范围有最大反射度的波长。
在本发明的一具体实施方案中,至少50%的入射到冷镜上的波长在300-380nm的紫外光的也被反射。在本发明的另一具体实施方案中,至少50%的射到冷镜上的波长在300-380nm的紫外光被吸收。吸收紫外辐射可以使用各种方法,许多市售的聚合物已含有吸收紫上光的添加剂。在后一具体实施方案中,可在冷镜的外层或一个或多个内层中提供紫外吸收染料或颜料。这种染料或颜料可以赋于冷镜金属外观,如青铜、铜、金或其它颜色外观。另外,由冷镜反射的紫外波长可用层厚和折光指数的结合来抑制,这种结合选择性地抑制那些波长的反射。
层厚和折光指数的其他结合也可用于抑制某些可见光波长的反射,以设计更多色彩的冷镜,给予反射和/或透射光某种光谱特性。本发明的一独特优点是多层冷镜可以做成能改正光源中的波长缺陷的结构,因此冷镜和光源的结合可以互相配合以产生所希望的反射特性,例如珠宝商希望展现兰光的珠宝以增加它们的光彩。再者,给予颜色可用来提高或给予物体在白昼的真实,如牙医给病人加上牙冠或外科医生在手术时观察器官的颜色以决定器官是否健康。
冷镜的大多数的层的光学厚度是在这样的范围,此范围的重复单元(如二组分冷镜中的AB)光学厚度的和在190nm-340nm的范围。在本发明的一最佳具体实施方案中,有重复单元AB的两组分冷镜,其第一和第二聚合材料在380-680nm的波长范围内的折光指数相互差至少为0.03。两个聚合组分的光学厚度的比“f-比率”为1/2以抑制从冷镜的二级反射。
在本发明的另一具体实施方案中,至少80%的入射到冷镜上的波长在680-2000nm间的红外光被透射。
许多基本上透明的聚合物在本发明中是适用的。在本发明的一最佳具体实施方案中,第一聚合材料包括聚苯乙烯;第二聚合材料包括聚乙烯。一般说来,冷镜选用的聚合物必须是对红外谱的波长(680-2000nm)基本上是透明的。在至少要用两种光学上不同的聚合物的同时,使用三种或多种不同聚合物的多组分结构也在本发明的范围之内。
在本发明的某些具体实施方案中,希望生产包括至少200或更多层的聚合冷镜。现已发现,聚合冷镜中层数的增加可以增加它的反射性(即冷镜反射的入射光百分数)。因而控制层数就可以控制冷镜的反射度。要更进一步增加冷镜的反射性,可将层数增加至超过一千层或更多。波长在380-680nm的光谱可见部分的大于80%的反射度值是完全在本发明的范围内的。但应注意,冷镜总厚度不能太大,因为较厚的冷镜可吸收更多的光。总厚度在0.025-6.35mm(1.0-250密耳)的冷镜是在本发明的范围之内,优选0.635-3.18mm(25-125密耳)的范围。
要使聚合冷镜形成所要求的形状,最好是与一透明基体叠层或共挤塑。另外,聚合冷镜可作为薄膜生产、形成要求的形状,然后叠层以预制成同样形状的基体。另外,聚合冷镜可以生产成一薄膜,形成要求的形状,然后再叠加在有相同形状的预先形成的基体上。制造冷镜的其它技术包括嵌件注塑,是将一聚合冷镜的薄膜嵌入模中,然后将聚合基体材料注入,使其靠在薄膜上做为结构支持体。适合的透明基体包括用于本发明中的聚合物的单个片材和玻璃。优先选择的是可热成形的材料或是能挤压成所需要的反射镜构型的材料。也可将不透明的基体用于要求在光谱的红外部分产生漫反射之用。再者,本发明的聚合冷镜可以后形成凹镜、凸镜和抛面等形状。这些形状的冷镜比起在玻璃基体上形成的冷镜更能抵抗破损。
将聚合冷镜制成自支承的片材或薄膜也是可能的。再者,冷镜片或膜可以切割成小块(小片)并与液体赋形剂混合形成可涂覆的分散系。因此,只须将分散系涂覆在基体上,冷镜就可以在任何基体上形成。另外,冷镜可由大量小镜片形成,这些小镜片是被压花在基体的表面上的。例如当聚合基体被加热软化时通过压花机压制。
冷镜也可以由大量冷镜小片在粘结的基体表面展开并牢固地附着其上而形成。冷镜也可以由在基体上展开的大量小镜片然后在小镜片上叠加一层透明层形成的。
在本发明的一个最佳具体实施方案中,聚合冷镜包括按重复单元AB交替的第一和第二聚合材料层,聚合冷镜也可包括在其至少一个主要表面上的保护表层。表层可以是可更换的或是永久性的,并可作为抗刮擦的或气候保护层。再者,这种表层可以在共挤塑后贴附到冷镜上,例如,表层可以作为喷涂在其上的涂层,它可起作平整镜面的作用以改进光学性质和产生抗刮擦性、抗化学性和/或耐气候性。表层也可以叠层在多层聚合冷镜上。叠层用在不易挤塑的聚合物是较理想的。
因此,本发明的一个目的是提供一种全聚合冷镜,它能在透射红外波长的同时反射可见波长的光,比过去用的冷镜价廉,可以叠层在各种基体上使用。本发明的各个目的将通过下面详细的说明。附图和权利要求而变得非常明显。
图1是本发明二组分聚合冷镜的横截面示意图,其膜包括它的两个外表面上的保护表层。

本发明提供了比现存技术冷镜有更多优点的全聚冷镜,包括生产成本低,生产中和生产后的可成型性以及可以叠层在各种不同的基体上。
具有不同折光指数的各层的多次反射的光学理论证明了其效果依附于材料的层厚和折光指数,如Radford等人的“Reflectiuity of Iri descent Coextruded Multilayered Plastic Films“,Polymer Engineering and Science,13,3,p.216(1973)所示。对于二组分全聚合冷镜的法线入射线初级或一级反射波长由下式决定:

式中λI是以纳米(nm)计的一级反射波长,覆盖380-680nm的一部分或全部,n1和n2是两种聚合物的折光指数,d1和d2是两种聚合物的层厚(nm)。如d1=d2,则重复单元中光学厚度的总和在190-340nm范围内变化。
可以看出,一级反射波长与两种聚合物的光学厚度的和成正比(光学厚度n1d1是层厚与折射指数之积)。除一级反射外,较高级的反射出现在一级的整分数部位。这些较高级反射的相对强度取决于聚合物组分的光学厚度的比率可选择光学厚度的特定比率f-比率抑制选择的较高级反射,其光学厚度的比率fi定义为:
m是光学重复单元的层数,ni为聚合物i的折光指数,di为聚合物i的层厚。
为了生产能反射380-680nm范围中的较宽谱带波长的冷镜,可将层厚梯度引入冷镜的整个厚度。因此,在一具体实施方案中,在冷镜的整个厚度中,层厚将不变地保持地增加,所谓不变地保护增加意即在整个冷镜的厚度中,层厚以预定率增加,如在美国专利No.3,687,589(Schrenk)中所示。从上述方程式可知,各层层厚d的变化对冷镜的光学性质有直接的效果。
上述在380-680nm范围反射所需的各光学层厚均已在冷镜的法线入射(即0℃)光反射度中叙述。反射波波长随光的入射角而变化。入射角从0℃(法线入射)至45°,移动大约为55nm。因此,本发明的冷镜可以设计一个特别的入射角,使反射的波长移至所需要的范围,如可见的范围。
要容纳波长的移动以及不是所有光线在冷镜上都是法线入射的可能性,光学层厚可设计能容纳380-782nm的较大一些的范围。此设计的最大光学层厚将增加15%,以便使重复单元中的光学厚度的和在190-391nm的范围。这样的设计保证了射到冷镜上的所有可见光基本上得到反射,即使光线以不同于法线的角度入射到冷镜上。
图1示意地说明了本发明的具有重复单元AB的二组分全聚合冷镜10,包括折光指数为n1的第一聚合物(A)12和折光指数为n2的第二聚合物(B)14的交替层。图1展示的是本发明的优选形式,其中基本上冷镜的所有各层具有光学厚度,其重复单元光学厚度的和在190-340nm间变化。图10也描绘了一聚合物(C)18的表层,位于冷镜的两个主要外表面上,以保护冷镜不受刮擦和气候的影响,并给其它的层提供支承或作为叠层在支承基体上的粘结层。各面上的表层聚合物可以相同或不相同,表层聚合物的折光指数n3可以和内层A和B的折光指数相同或不同。
选择的聚合物其折光指数在波长380-680nm范围最好有至少0.03的差别。优选的聚合冷镜包括以聚苯乙烯作为第一聚合材料和以聚乙烯作为第二聚合材料。一般说来,各聚合物对波长在近红外光谱的波长(680-2000nm)范围必须基本透明。
当不希望有紫外波长反射的时候,最好在一个或两个外表层中或在一个或多个内层中加入吸收紫外线的染料。紫外吸收染料也可加入其后涂复的涂层上。许多热塑性聚合物都掺有紫外吸收化合物以改进其稳定性。
另外,出现在紫外波长的反射可用层厚和折光指数的结合来抑制,这种结合可以选择性地抑制那些波长的反射。在需要透射紫外波长时,最好使用固有抗紫外降解性质的聚合物。这样的聚合物有聚偏二氟乙烯和聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯,它们是抗紫外光降解的,也是紫外光的非吸收剂。

选用的聚合物最好有相容的共挤塑变流性质,即形成聚合物冷镜的优选方法是用共挤塑技术,使聚合物的熔体粘度必须很好地适合以防止层的不稳定性和非均匀性,所用的聚合物也应有足够的介面粘合性,以使膜不致于脱层。另外,可以使用永久性的或暂时性的表层。
在本发明的另一具体实施方案中,可用弹性体作为交替聚合材料,使用弹性体可以给予冷镜许多理想的性质。例如弹性体冷镜可以变形做成变焦冷镜,再者,来回拉伸和/或松弛弹性体冷镜可移动镜的最大反射特性,可以用拉伸或松弛的办法“调节”冷镜使其反射所需要的波长。本发明用作交替聚合物的适合的弹性体叙述于美国专利No.4,937,134(Schrenk等)中,此专利述及有基本透明度、弹性、折光指数有差别和有加工性能等各种性质的弹性聚合物以提供改进的光干涉膜。适合的聚氨酯弹性体包括聚1,4-丁二醇醚热塑性聚氨酯和聚己二酸酯热塑性聚氨酯,它们都有商品供应,已发现的两个聚合物Pellethane(The Dow Chemical Co商标)2103-70A和Pellethane 2363-65D是有效的,二者均为聚1,4-丁二醇醚热塑性聚氨酯,前者的折光指数为1.51,后者为1.57。二者用于本发明中在一般膜厚时都有好的透明度。组合物的折光指数可随硬(异氰酸酯)/软(聚醇)链段的比例变化而改变。其它弹性体可以与任一上述的聚氨酯结合使用。例如,Atochem.Inc.的商品聚醚嵌段酰胺(商标为Pebax)和Eastman Chem.Porducts,Inc.提供的柔性共聚物(商标为Ecdel)都具有能在本发明中产生效果所需的透明度、折光指数、变流性和弹性。Pebax弹性聚醚嵌段酰胺由硬聚酰胺线形链段和以下式代表的柔性聚醚链段组成。
适合的Pebax聚醚嵌段酰胺等级包括4033,3533和2533系列,这些化合物系列的折光指数各为1.49,1.48和1.49;Ecdel PCCE共聚聚酯的折光折数为1.52。这些弹性体的许多不同的组合都适合于用在本发明中。例如,Pebax 2533(折光指数1.49)和Pellethane 2355-95AEF(折光指数为1.55的聚己二酸酯热塑性聚酰氨)的多层膜就是优选的组合。这种膜的折光指数相差0.06,并在拉伸后能迅速恢复,其它适合的组合包括Pellethane 2109-70A和Pellethane 2363-75D(折光指数差为0.07),Ecdel PCCE共聚物和Pellethane 2363-65D(折光指数差0.05),Ecdel PCCE和Pellethane 2363-75(折光指数差0.06)以及Pebax 2533和Pellethane 2363-75D(折光指数差0.09)。
本发明的冷镜比现存技术冷镜有许多主要优点,现存技术冷镜用昂贵的和消耗时间的多层介电或二色涂层,把它们用化学蒸气沉积技术沉积在玻璃或聚合物其体上。本发明的聚合冷镜透射红外波长光、反射可见波长光,并且可以构造成反射或吸收紫外波长的。再者,冷镜容易共挤塑,能比现存技术冷镜有更大的表面积,不管在挤塑时或在后成形操作(如热成型)中可做成简单或复杂的形状。它们还可以叠层到聚合物或非聚合物基体上供各种应用。
本发明的聚合冷镜采用美国专利Nos 3,633,882和3,884,606所叙方法和多层共挤塑设备来制备是最为有利的。美国专利No.3,773,882的方法是制备交错对插的不同合成树脂状材料的复合流。该方法的步骤是提供热塑化的可挤塑热塑性材料的至少一个第一和第二物流;将各流分别分成许多第一亚流和许多第二亚流;将亚流汇合形成有第一亚流和第二亚流交错对插的复合流,其进一步的限制是亚流汇合的位置通常是布置在圆圈的弧上;使复合物流成型,方法是使其亚流流向(一般是径向向内)出料位置(一般布置在圆的中心);出料位置一般是从相邻的第一和第二亚流汇合位置等距离的;从出料位置排放复合流;使汇合物流形成通常的片状结构,其中各流间的界面通常平行于片状结构的主要表面。美国专利No.3,884,606所述设备是多层膜或片的制备,该设备包括一个主体,该主体限定至少一个第一聚合物进口通道;一个与第一聚合物通道相通的第一增压室;一个分流装置,将第一通道流来的物料分成许多第一亚流;一个第二聚合物接受装置,与第二增压室运转相通,第二增压室出料到分流装置,将第二流分成许多亚流,将许多第二亚流及第一亚流交错对插,分流装置与第三或复合流接受增压室运转联通,复合流包括组合的第一和第二亚流;一个第三增压出料通道与第三增压室运转联通,接受从第三增压室来的复合流;与有一般狭缝状挤出口的挤塑模组合的出料装置;有第一或接受端和第二或出料端的出料通道,其改进包括将分流装置的出料部分安置在一弓形内以形成圆圈的弧,其中出料部分一般从第三增压出料通道的出料端是等距的。这样的装置提供了制备多层的同时又是挤塑的热塑性物料的方法,基本上色层都有均匀的层厚。优选的一系列制备多层的方法叙述于美国专利No.3,759,647中。该专利叙述了制备复合的合成树脂状的片状制品的设备,它组合了一提供至少两个热可塑化的热塑性树脂状物料的装置,一机械安排二物流成为有许多平行层的复合流的装置,其中一种物流的一部分包裹着复合流,一以机械方法控制复合流以在控制的物流中提供增加的层数的装置,以及一将控制的物流形成所需的有许多平行于所需结构的主要表面的结构的装置。
共挤塑设备的供料头接受一从热可塑挤压机源而来的不同的热塑性聚合物材料。树脂状物料流通入供料头的机械控制部位,该部位将原物流重新安排成在最终冷镜中要求的层数的多层物流,其最佳选择是,多层物流可再通过一系列的增层装置以便在最终的冷镜中进一步增加层数。
然后多层物流进入一挤塑模,其构造和安排使在其中保持流线形流动。这种挤塑设备叙述于美国专利No.3,557,265中,它涉及这样的热塑性树脂状材料薄片的制备方法,即在挤塑机中挤压提供处于热可塑化条件的不同的热塑性材料的紧密相邻的许多流动物流,它们相互间有相邻的关系,每一物流具有一般的平面表面,互相间是平行的;在垂直于各物流界面的方向减少尺寸改变这些流动的物流的横截面的结构和横切于流动方向并平行于物流的界面增加尺寸以形成有多层的片状结构,各层界面通常互相平行并平行于片状结构的主要表面、挤塑可得到的产品以形成聚合物冷镜,其中各层通常平行于相邻层的主要表面。
挤塑模的结构可以改变,并改变成能减少每层的厚度和尺寸的结构。层厚缩小的精密程度来自机械取向部位、模结构和挤塑后冷镜的机械加工量,它们都是影响最终冷镜中各个层厚的因素。
控制通过挤塑设备进料口的热塑化聚合物的体积将层厚梯度引入多层体是有利的,如美国专利No.3,687,589(Schrenk)所述,该专利叙述了将至少两种不同的合成树脂状材料同时挤塑成一有层的复合体的设备,该设备有输送第一热塑化的物流的第一热塑化合成树脂状材料的供应装置,一输送第二热塑化的物流的第二热塑化合成树脂材料的供应装置,一分流第一物流的装置和一分流第二物流成许多亚流的装置,该每一装置都有进口和出口,按所要求的关系重新将各亚流组合成复合层流的装置,将有复合层的物流变成所要求的结构的装置,选择性地施加剪力的物流剪切装置,它是用所说物流剪切装置与物流接触而其表面连续机械的运动实现的,物流剪切装置至少有一个运动体置于相邻于(并有间隙)分流装置的入口。另外,用可调阀控制各供料槽至ISG的热塑化聚合物的量,可将层厚梯度引入界表面生成元的上游。在又一引入层厚梯度至多层聚合物体的方法中,可将温度梯度加于共挤塑设备的供料头。
本发明的全聚合冷镜有许多用途。例如用在医疗和牙科的照明上,那里需要照明而不加热周围环境和/或那里需要给予照明装置投射的颜色和白天一样。戏院的照明使用冷镜可以消除演员的不舒适条件,冷镜也可用于异色掩遮效应。
除此以外,吸收紫外光的冷镜可以用于美术展览,需要防止美术作品因紫外光而降解老化,也可防止红外光产生的温度升高。投影机和光学复印机也可利用冷镜让强的可见光通过,而红外光经透射离开设备,聚合冷镜也可在保安上使用作为排除可见光的透镜并让红外光通过,因而可用非可见光照明区域,用对红外敏感的照相机来观察。
反射紫外光的冷镜可用于农业作为靠可见光和紫外光生长的植物的照明。太阳的红外光可用冷镜分离出来用于其它的目的,如水的加热。
冷镜也可用来将太阳的可见光能通过光电池转变成电能,同时除去不需要的红外光用于其它的目以生产太阳能。已经知道,有红外光的存在可降低光电池的效率,除去红外光将改进电池的效率。
汽车照明也可得益于冷镜的使用,其中可见光用于道路的照明,红外光通过反射器传至汽车发动机罩内的开阔地区而消散。甚至一般的照明也可得益于本发明的冷镜的使用,因为冷镜的热消散能力,可以利用更紧凑和更经济的照明装置。
为使本发明能更为人们了解,提出了下面的实例,以便说明本发明而不是限制其范围。
用美国专利Nos.3,773,882和3,884,606所述的微层共挤塑设备生产了聚合物冷镜,它包括400个聚苯乙烯(Styron 685D,折光指数=1.57)和聚乙烯(Dow 12065,折光指数=1.5)的交替层,冷镜是约等体积的聚苯烯和聚乙烯组成,在其两个主面上有可以除掉的聚丙烯(Shell 5524)表层,挤塑温度约为500°F,挤塑泵率如下:1)聚乙烯:20lb/hr;27聚苯乙烯:20lb/hr;3)聚丙烯:15lb/hr.。将成层的熔体物流展开在16英寸宽的衣架形的模中,在缠绕在膜卷筒上之前在冷的辊膜装置上冷却。最终膜厚为0.002英寸(芯层厚)以便一级反射峰在可见光范围。在反射时观察,此膜有金色外观。
用岛津(Shimadzu)光谱仪做了实例1所得的样品的透射光谱(入射角为0°)。图2是实验结果,显示了高宽的可见光反射带(380-680nm)和红外区(680-2500nm)的高透射率。
进行实验,将膜置于一红外加热灯(125W,General Electric IR泛光灯)和一J型热电偶(涂黑以便吸收)之间,置光源距膜6英寸远,置热电偶于膜的另一边并相距1.5英寸,这样使光源与热电偶相距7.5英寸。在光源和热电偶之间无样品时,此装置指示131°F;在其间放置膜时,只比原测定温度降低2°F,说明有高的红外透射和仅有冷的可见光反射。
在红外热灯和热电偶之间置一按美国专利No.5,122,905(Wheatley等)所述方法制成的聚合物反射材料(反射可见和红外区域的光),温度降低30°F,说明样品是不良的红外光透射物。实验用铝泊做样品时,温度降至接近环境温度(70℃),说明几乎无能量透射。
用美国专利Nos.3,773,882和3,884,606所述微层共挤塑设备生产的聚合冷镜包括2625个聚碳酸酯(CALIBRE 302-10,Dow Chemical Co.商标,10熔体流,折光指数=1.586)和聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(Cyro Acrylite H 15-003,Cyro Industries商标,折光指数=1.49)的交替层。冷镜也用了一聚碳酸酯(CALIBRE 302-22,Dow Chemical Co.的商标,22熔体流)的边缘保护层和在聚碳酸酯的两个主要面上的两个外表层(CALIBRE 302-22,22熔体流和80熔体流聚碳酸酯的70/30体积混合物,Jaijin chemicals商品供应)。
微芯层聚碳酸酯挤塑率为44lb/hr,微芯层聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯为42lb/hr,边缘保护层聚碳酸酯为10lb/hr,总顶、底外表层聚碳酸酯为15lb/hr。使用上述专利所述的半圆半月形供料头生产了165层熔体流。将供料头分成三个不同的区域并保持这些区域的温度分别为490,500和470℃,在各层中产生了层厚梯度,其它挤塑设备温度保持在500°F。
使用了四个界面表面生成元(每个均为层数的2倍)将出于供料头的165层加倍成2625层的结构。将2625层熔体流展开于衣架式模中并在冷辊膜装置中冷却。辊膜装置包括在“开”位置中运转的三个辊子,其意即熔体流仅与底辊和中辊接触,并未被夹紧。底辊的温度为265°F,中辊温度为210°F,辊子速度足以得到厚度约为14.5mil(0.37mm)的最终膜。
这些加工条件可在整个微芯层得到接近2∶1的层厚梯度,这使反射峰加宽,覆盖可见光范围,得到基本上无色的银色光泽的外观。这种无色的银色光泽外观不是本发明所要求的,但为许多冷镜的应用所需要,微芯层的平均层厚大约110nm,其重复单元(AB)的光学厚度为340nm。
将所得的2625层的样品做透射光谱。因为380-2000nm范围的聚碳酸酯和聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯的吸收可以忽略不计,样品的反射可用关系式1-透射率来测定。如图3中光谱所示,样品在可见光范围(380-680nm)的平均反射度为94%,近红外(680-2000nm)的平均透射率为80-90%。
为了说明本发明,已经列举了有代表性的具体实施方案和详细情况,但很显,对于本领域的技术人员来说,在此公开的方法和设备可能做出的任何改变都不离开本发明的范围,此范围即在权利要求中所限定的。
Claims (26)
1、一种至少是第一和第二不同的聚合物材料的全聚合冷镜,该聚合冷镜包括足够数目的所说第一和第二聚合材料的交替层,以使入射到所说聚合冷镜上的波长为380-680nm的反射可见光的峰的至少50%被反射,至少50%的680-2000nm的红外光被透射或吸收。
2、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中至少50%的入射到所说聚合冷镜上的300-380nm的紫外光被反射。
3、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中至少50%的入射到所述聚合冷镜上的300-380nm的紫外光被吸收。
4、权利要求3的聚合冷镜,其中所说聚合层中的一层含有紫外光吸收染料或颜料。
5、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中基本上所说冷镜的大多数层的光学厚度在所说聚合材料重复单元的光学厚度190-340nm的范围,其中所说的聚合材料在380-680nm波长范围的折光指数相互间差至少为0.03。
6、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的第一聚合材料为聚苯乙烯,第二聚合材料为聚乙烯。
7、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的第一聚合材料为聚碳酸酯,第二聚合材料为聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯。
8、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的聚合冷镜包括至少200层。
9、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中至少80%的入射到聚合冷镜上的波长为380-680nm的反射可见光峰被反射。
10、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中至少80%的入射到聚合冷镜上的波长为680-2000nm的红外光被透射。
11、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜被叠层到基体材料上或与基体材料共挤塑。
12、权利要求11的聚合冷镜,其中所说的基体材料选自玻璃、金属、聚碳酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯、聚醚酰亚胺以及戊二酰亚胺/甲基丙烯酸甲酯共聚物。
13、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜包括在其至少一个主要面上的一层保护表层。
14、权利要求13的聚合冷镜,其中所说的保护表层是可除去的。
15、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是作为轮廓挤塑的。
16、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是后形成的轮廓。
17、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中有着色剂掺入所说冷镜的至少一个层中。
18、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的着色剂选自染料和颜料。
19、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的着色剂是掺入所说冷镜的至少一个表面层中。
20、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的着色剂是掺入所说冷镜的至少一个内层中。
21、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是作为可涂布的组合物由大量的冷镜小片的液体分散系形成的。
22、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是由大量压花在基体表面上的冷镜小片形成的。
23、权利要求1的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是由大量在粘合剂基体表面上展开的冷镜小片形成的。
24、权利要求23的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜是由大量在基体表面上展开的冷镜小片形成的,所说冷镜小片上叠层了一透明薄片。
25、权利要求23的聚合冷镜,其中所说的聚合材料是弹性体。
26、权利要求23的聚合冷镜,其中所说的冷镜的至少一个表面是压花或做成纹理的以漫射从冷镜来的反射光或透射光。
