发明背景
交叉连接布线系统是众所周知的,它们具有接于电缆端头上的配电盘或布线板,并具有一个适于与接插线连接器互连的端部。这些交叉连接系统通常用于进线和出线布线系统之间的连接,诸如在布线箱中所使用的。110系统接插线连接器通常接于包有多条导线的电缆的端头,并连接到布线板或配电盘上的一110型连接器。随着近年来网络用户量的增长,以及所使用的数据速度的提高,已经有必要将电气连接器设计成可与交叉连接系统一起使用,这将减少串音效应,从而实现5类性能。一个例子可以见授予Baker,III等人并转让给AT&TBell Laboratories的美国专利5,226,835的已有技术接插线连接器。AT&T的专利采用相邻接触的交迭来帮助降低相邻的一对电缆的交绕。为实现合适的交迭所需要的弯曲可导致导线的制造过程更为困难和装配工作更为复杂。另外,导线的具体布置和弯曲程度也可造成对在接插线连接器的连接和断接过程中的曲度的敏感性升高。
因此,仍需要对接插线连接器的交叉连接系统设计技术进行改进。
发明概要
因此,本发明的一个目的是提供一种改进的交叉连接系统接插线连接器。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种可实现5类性能的改进的接插线连接器。
本发明的还有一个目的是提供一种更容易在工厂和野外端接的接插线连接器。
本发明的电气连接器一般包括一不导电罩壳和多个位于罩壳内的导体,这些导体具有一设置在罩壳的输出端处的、平的翼片部分、一中间部分和一接纳单根导线的绝缘变位接触(IDC)部分,其中,相邻导体的中间部分交替地基本位于一下平面和一上平面内,并交替地具有一较短长度和一较长长度。

较佳实施例的描述
实施本发明之原理的一接插线连接器在附图中总地由标号10表示。如图1和3所示,接插线连接器10由一对可相配合的罩壳部分构成,包括一底部导体罩壳部分12和一顶部导线罩壳部分14,它们例如是由阻燃聚碳酸酯树脂制成的。接插线连接器10在罩壳的输入端30处接于电缆70的端头,并具有导体16,其端部设置在罩壳的输出端32处,它们与一布线板配电盘(未示出)上的绝缘变位接触件互相连接。
从图3中可清楚地看出,导体的罩壳部分14包括多个导体16,这些导体具有一设置在罩壳的输出端32处的、大致为平的翼片部分18、一中间部分20和一接纳电缆70的多根单导线的绝缘变位接触部分22。导体16在制造时就被插入和牢固地嵌入它们各自的导体槽24中。导体IDC22由形成于导体罩壳部分上的前支承件26和后支承件28支承,抵抗因与一连接板IDC(未示出)相配合而产生的力。中间部分20在靠近IDC端部22处具有一小的凹凸部34,该部分对于将所有导体16装配入导体罩壳14的有间隔的限制件内是必要的。导体的翼片部分18具有一形成45°斜角的压纹区,它可使接插线导体16能更容易地插入连接板IDC的导体(未示出)。
从图3和4中可以看出,诸导体16在较长中间部分和较短中间部分之间交替,并在基本延伸于一上平面和下平面的中间部分之间交替。较长的导体在下平面内从平翼片接触件的底侧向后延伸,而较短的导体在上平面内从翼片部分18的顶侧向后延伸。较长导体的中间部分具有一锥形压痕54,它有助于将导体牢固地保持于槽24中。较短导体另外还通过形成于插头10的诸槽的前顶部上的诸夹持小块56而固定于诸导体槽24中。
从图7中可清楚地看出,先剥去电缆70端部的包套,将电缆70卡入形成于导线罩壳部分14上的诸固定肋38和诸保持夹40,即可对接插线连接器10进行工厂或现场端接。然后将各导线42送入它们各自的导线槽44中,这些槽可暂时固定导线42。如图8中所示,多余的导线然后沿导线罩壳12倾斜的前部46而被整平。该倾斜面46可确保在导线42被整平成略高于表面46时,它们不会在装配后与导体罩壳14相干涉。一旦导线42被整平,便可将导体罩壳14与导线罩壳12卡合在一起。该动作使IDC部分22刺破导线的绝缘包套,形成连续。拉力减轻部分48可夹紧电缆,消除在连接和断接过程中作用于导线42上的应力。
本发明的接插线连接器10采用一种独特的导体结构,特殊地设计成在导体对之间采用平行延伸和相对距离,以减小串音效应。通常,当导体隔较近距离相互平行延伸时,串音会增大。另外,相邻的导体部分的表面积越大,附近导体部分所受的串音也越大。
标准的接插线连接器具有多个导体,包括多对相邻的导体。通常,一对导体用作发射对,第二对导体用作接收对。发射对中的每一个导体发出噪声,而接收对中的每个导体接收到每个发射导体发出的噪声。通过增大导体之间的距离,或平衡各接收导体从发射导体接收到的噪声量,可使各对之间的串音达到最小。当你有一平衡的对时,诸接收导体从每个发射导体接收到相同的噪声量。这可以减小对与对之间的串音,因为噪声因两个接收导体同时接收到相同的量而被抵销。
图5和6示出两对没有罩壳的导体,参照它们可以看出,所提出的导体结构被特殊地设计成通过平衡发射和接收对之间的串音来减小串音效应。图中,导体的发射对由导体T-1和T-2表示,导体的接收对由导体R-3和R-4表示。从图6中可看出,为了降低直接相邻的各对之间的总的噪声,相邻导体的中间部分20基本延伸于两个不同的平面内,而较短的诸导体从平翼片部分18的顶端向后延伸,因而主要位于一上平面内,而较长的诸导体从平翼片部分18的底端向后延伸,因而主要位于一下平面内。相邻导体的这种分离方式可降低相邻导体所接收到的噪声。
因此,将导体制成长短交替,可通过平衡导体R-3和R-4从导体T-2接收到的噪声来减小串音效应。也就是说,导体R-3的平翼片部分18和IDC端附近的小中间部分到导体T-2的相邻部分的距离比到导体R-4的相同部分的距离要近。因此,在不改制接收导体R-4的情况下,R-3从T-2接收到的噪声将大大高于R-4从T-2接收到的。然而,导体T-2和R-4之间平行延伸的额外长度将T-2和R-4之间的噪声增大到接近导体R-3从导体T-2接收到的噪声。因此,通过使相邻的发射和接收导体的中间部分位于间隔开的平面内,可使直接相邻的导体T-2和R-3的串音效应达到最小。通过使T-2和R-4的中间部分20一起延伸一较长的平行线路从而实现平衡,可增大T-2和R-4之间的串音。
在较佳实施例中,图5中B所指的较短导体的长度为0.447英寸。因此,为适当平衡串音,已通过试验得出,较长导体应比较短导体长0.30英寸,如C所示,从而具有如A所示的0.747英寸的长度。
这种通过平衡接收导体所接收到的噪声来降低串音的导体配置,无论接插线中哪一对是发射对、哪一对是接收对,都是有效的。
而且,从图3中可看出,位于接插线连接器后部中的是一拉力减轻部分48和容纳导线罩壳部分14的卡闩40的凹穴60。位于诸导体之间的前卡闩62将接插线组件的前部固定于一起。应该注意的是,卡闩62是设置在导体罩壳12上,而不是象以前的接插线连接器那样设置在导线罩壳14上。这种配置可以将导线迅速地安装于导线罩壳中,不会与卡闩有任何的干涉。后卡闩64,包括它们的导向柱66,通过与导体罩壳12上相应的孔68相配合,从而将插头组件的后部固定于一起。

Claims (15)

1.一种电气连接器,包括:
一不导电的罩壳;以及
多个位于该罩壳内的导体,它们具有一设置在罩壳的输出端处的、平的翼片部分、一中间部分和一接纳单根导线的绝缘变位接触(IDC)部分,其中,相邻导体的中间部分交替地基本位于一下平面和一上平面内,其特征在于,相邻导体的中间部分交替地具有一较短长度和一较长长度。
2.如权利要求1所述的电气连接器,其特征在于,相邻导体的IDC部分垂直于下平面,但在长度方向上交错排列成两行。
3.如权利要求1所述的电气连接器,其特征在于,较长长度的导体的中间部分在下平面内从翼片部分向后延伸。
4.如权利要求1所述的电气连接器,其特征在于,较短的导体长约0.447英寸,较长的导体长约0.747英寸。
5.如权利要求1所述的电气连接器,其特征在于,罩壳是一种具有一导体罩壳部分和一相配的导线罩壳部分的两部式罩壳,该导线罩壳部分具有多个导线夹持槽和一位于导线夹持槽前端处的倾斜前表面。
