Abstract

发明背景
1.发明领域
本发明涉及一种锥形过滤器,尤其是涉及一种可串列设置在流体流中的、由带槽纹的过滤介质构成的锥形过滤器,以及一种制造该过滤器的方法。
2.已有技术的描述
流体过滤器可用于各种各样的场合。流体过滤器通常采用一位于一外壳内的过滤元件,该外壳具有一入口和一出口,使流体可通过过滤介质,因而截留住颗粒物质。空气动力锥形过滤器通常用于高速流体流动场合,诸如汽车进气口过滤器。过去很少使用锥形过滤器,这主要是因为尺寸和效率的问题。通常,这些过滤器都使用起褶过滤介质。对于起褶过滤器,直线通过的流动是不可能的。这会造成过滤器上较高的压力差以及流体流量分配方面的问题。为克服这些问题,设计者通常是增大褶子之间的间隔,从而减小过滤介质的密度。这就降低了过滤器的有效寿命,并且没有解决流量分配方面的问题。这些过滤器还有另外的问题,就是过滤介质不能自支承。通常,这些过滤器需要使用刚性的外壳。
现有的一般过滤器设计方案的另一个缺点为流量分配不均匀。流体流通常被导向过滤器的一中心部分,因而对过滤器施加不均匀的载荷。过滤器的一些部分可能经过很短的时间间隔就会处于饱和状态,因而需要更换过滤元件。然而,如果将流体流更均匀地引导在整个过滤器上,则载荷将会更均匀、更缓和,从而使过滤器的使用寿命得以延长。
于1992年4月21日授予Ford Motor公司的美国专利No.5,106,397中示出了锥形过滤器的一个例子。在该专利中,采用一起褶过滤器来过滤进入发动机的空气。为迫使空气通过介质,每个褶子的顶部被密封在一起,以使空气不会通过介质中的间隙泄漏。这就会在各个褶子之间形成了一个开口,供空气进入并流过褶子、通过介质和流出过滤器的内侧中心。为了避免对进入的空气形成约束,褶子必须隔开,这样就限制了可用于过滤的过滤介质的量。增加过滤介质会导致过滤器上压力差的增大。此外,空气为了要进入过滤介质,它必须作一个急剧的转向,以通过过滤介质,因而又增大了过滤器上的压降。
由此可见,需要一种改进的锥形过滤器,它可以增大过滤面积,而不会在过滤器上伴随产生较高的压力差。这种过滤器还可改善流量分配,并在整个过滤器上实现均匀的载荷。本发明可以解决上述这些以及与锥形过滤器有关的其它一些问题。
发明概要
本发明目的在于一种锥形过滤器,尤其是一种由带槽纹过滤介质制成的锥形过滤器。
在本发明的一较佳实施例中,过滤器中所使用的可渗透过滤介质具有过滤材料的波纹片,这些片在交替端密封于过滤介质片,形成过滤槽纹,它们可以被卷成锥形。各槽纹的交替端被封住,使流体通过槽纹的脏侧进入,并被引导至净侧,从而使颗粒物质沉积于过滤介质上。
在一锥形过滤器中,过滤介质绕一中心卷绕部分而盘绕成盘旋结构,形成一上游表面和下游表面,使得过滤槽纹基本平行于进入的流体流。这就允许脏的流体进入过滤介质而不会有突然的变向,从而可减小过滤介质上的压力差。而且,由于流体进入过滤介质而不会发生突然变向,因而就不需要象起褶过滤器那样在过滤槽纹之间设置间隔。因此,本结构对于给定容积来说可确保最大过滤面积,而不会发生已有技术的装置所普遍存在的压力差的相应升高,同时还可提高过滤元件的使用寿命。
锥形的另一个优点是颗粒在过滤器上的分布。随着进入的脏流体撞击锥形过滤器的弹头形表面,流体流被从过滤介质内侧部分推至外侧部分,使得流体流在过滤器的所有部分上相对较为均匀。这种颗粒分布还可提高过滤元件的过滤效率和有效寿命。
串列性能可减小所占空间,与目前所使用的过滤元件和外壳相比可提供更大的介质过滤面积。
本发明还包括制造这种锥形过滤器的方法。按照第一种方法,通过提供一条形成有多个槽纹分隔室的槽纹过滤介质来制造该过滤器。然后,将过滤介质盘绕于一心轴上。在将介质盘绕于心轴上的同时,将一条密封剂涂覆于相邻的卷层上,因而封闭住槽纹材料的交替部分。在密封剂变硬之前,将盘绕的过滤介质置于一锥形成形工具上。通过将盘绕的过滤介质压到该锥形成形工具上,介质的中心部分被纵向顶出,从而形成一锥形的过滤器表面。而后,使过滤器冷却到一硬化状态。按照第二种方法,过滤介质以螺旋形的方式盘绕,在盘绕过滤介质和涂覆密封条的同时形成锥形的过滤器表面。
可以理解,利用本发明,可增大过滤面积,而不伴随产生压力差的增大。因此,本过滤器能够承受更高的流体流量,并具有更长的有效寿命。

较佳实施例的详细描述
下面参见附图,尤其是参见图1,其中示出了一层可渗透的带槽纹过滤介质的一部分,它总的由标号22表示。该槽纹过滤介质22具有多个槽纹24,它们形成一种改进的波纹型材料。槽纹腔24由一个安装在表面片32之间、形成交替的波峰26和波谷28的中心槽纹片30所构成。波谷28和波峰26将槽纹分为上行和下行。在图1所示的结构中,上槽纹形成在下游端封闭的槽纹腔36,而上游端封闭的槽纹34是槽纹腔的下行。槽纹腔34由第一端密封条38封闭,该密封条填塞位于槽纹片30和第二表面片32B之间的一部分槽纹上游端。同样,第二端密封条40封住交替槽纹24的下游端36。粘结剂的黏性将槽纹24的波峰26和波谷28连接于表面片32A和32B。槽纹24和端部密封条38和40提供一在结构上可自己支承而无需外壳的过滤元件22。
在使用过程中,未过滤的流体进入上游端开口的槽纹腔36,如阴影箭头所示。在进入槽纹腔36后,未过滤的流体流被第二端密封条40截住。因此,迫使流体通过槽纹片30或表面片32。随着未过滤的流体通过槽纹片30或表面片32,流体被过滤,如无阴影箭头所示。然后,流体可自由地通过上游端封闭的槽纹腔34,从而通过下游端流出过滤介质22。利用所示的结构,未过滤流体可滤过槽纹片30、上表面片32A或下表面片32B而进入上游侧堵住的槽纹腔34。
下面参见图2A-2B,其中示出了可被卷成过滤元件的槽纹过滤介质的制造工艺,如以下所说明的。可以理解,在盘绕过滤介质而使相邻的层彼此接触时,由于表面片32既可用作一个槽纹层的顶片,又可用作另一个槽纹层的底片,因而只需要一个表面片32。因此可以理解,只需要将槽纹片30粘附于一个表面片32上。
如图2A所示,一第一过滤介质片由一组滚筒输送到一起皱辊44,该起皱辊与一第二相对辊45形成一个间隙。以同样的方式,一第二片32被输送至辊44和45。一密封剂涂覆器47在起皱辊44与相对辊45结合之前沿第二片32的上表面涂覆一密封剂46。如图2B所示,第一片30与辊44的波纹表面结合,随着它被压于相对辊45中间,形成与波纹辊44相对应的波纹或槽纹形状。波谷28在它们的顶点涂覆有密封剂,或者是被焊接于表面片32,从而形成槽纹腔34。密封剂46在槽纹片30和表面片32之间形成第一端密封条38。将表面片32的一边密封于槽纹片30所得到的结构便是可成层的过滤介质48,如图3所示。
在形成锥形过滤器时,形成一过滤介质卷,如图4所示。可以理解,图3中所示的具有单个衬片32和单个端部密封条38的过滤介质层48可以被卷绕成一盘绕式的圆柱形过滤元件,它在图4中总的由标号52表示,并更详细地示于图5中。为形成盘绕式过滤元件52,在一心轴54上沿长度方向涂覆一条密封剂。将单面槽纹过滤介质48的一端通过该密封剂条固定于心轴54。而后,将该单面槽纹过滤介质48卷到心轴54上,同时,用密封剂涂覆器47将一第二端密封条40沿过滤介质的第二边而涂覆于该单面槽纹过滤介质48的起皱面,如图4所示。随着起皱过滤介质22卷到心轴54上,第二端密封条40粘附到单面槽纹过滤介质48的第一表面片32上,如图3所示。可以理解,当过滤介质卷绕到心轴上而使相邻的层接触和密封槽纹的波峰和波谷时,由于表面片32既可用作一个槽纹层的顶层,又可用作另一个槽纹层的底层,因而只需要一个表面片。因此,随着第二端密封条40粘附到第一表面片32上,过滤介质卷52的下游端封闭的槽纹36便形成了。当将所需长度的单面槽纹过滤介质48卷到心轴54上而使得过滤介质卷52的直径符合需要时,将一外密封条涂覆于该单面槽纹过滤介质48的自由端。然后,将该起皱过滤介质的自由端固定于表面片32,使该自由端粘附于过滤介质卷52。
该过滤介质被设置成在进行过滤时,如阴影箭头所示的脏流体进入上游端开口的槽纹腔36,这些槽纹腔的上游都有开口。在进入上游端开口的槽纹腔36后,未过滤流体遇到第二端密封条40。因此,迫使流体通过槽纹片30。随着未过滤流体通过槽纹片30,流体被过滤,如无阴影箭头所示。而后,流体可自由地通过上游端封闭的下游端开口槽纹腔34,并流出过滤介质48。另外,未过滤流体还可以滤过表面片32而到达槽纹腔34。
锥形过滤器可通过几种制造工艺制成。当过滤介质卷上的密封剂仍然温热柔软的时候,该过滤器多少有点可塑性。在第一种方法中,在这个阶段,将过滤介质卷52压靠于一锥形成形工具96上,如图6所示,使过滤介质卷52形成一锥形元件62。然后,使该锥形过滤介质卷52保持在锥形成形工具上,直到它达到硬化状态而呈刚性为止。而后,将该锥形过滤元件62从锥形成形工具96上取下,便可装配密封圈59。
可以理解,锥形过滤器还可以通过图7所示的方法来制造,其中单面槽纹过滤介质48是被卷到一心轴54上。利用这第二种制造方法,心轴相对于密封涂覆器47而沿轴向移动。这使得单面过滤介质48的层卷绕成螺旋结构。第二端密封条40由密封剂涂覆器涂覆,该涂覆器在心轴54和已经卷绕的过滤介质移动的同时保持不动。按这种方式,第二端密封条40是位于向外盘旋而形成锥形表面的锥形过滤器62的前表面。第二密封条40密封相邻层的槽纹波峰和波谷,因而只需要一个表面片32,它既充当一个层的顶片,又充当相邻一层的底片。可以理解,心轴可在轴向保持静止;然而,这要求密封剂涂覆器47和单面槽纹过滤介质48的供给均相对于心轴而轴向移动,以形成锥形过滤器。
下面参见图8,其中示出了具有锥形过滤元件62的锥形过滤器60的第一实施例。该锥形过滤器60具有一用作过滤器外壳58的外层和一中心塞66。过滤器60具有单面槽纹过滤介质48,它缠绕于中心塞66上。可以理解,中心塞66可以是上面绕有过滤介质的心轴,或者,如果心轴已被取出,则中心通孔可具有一盖子或罩子。过滤元件62最好通过上述的方法制成锥形。单面槽纹过滤介质48具有交替的上游端封闭槽纹34和上游端开口的槽纹36,如前面的图1和图5所示。从下游侧看,有交替的下游端封闭的槽纹36和下游端开口的槽纹34。在一较佳实施例中,用作过滤器外壳58的外罩具有密封垫圈59,用于将过滤元件62置于一外壳54中。
图9中所示的流体清洁器外壳54是现有的用于汽车空气过滤场合的外壳。最好,该清洁器外壳54由模制塑料构成。过滤器60插入清洁器外壳54的入口端。过滤器60由一压缩环68保持定位,该环将垫圈59密封在清洁器外壳54的上游部分和下游部分之间。
随着流体流进入清洁器外壳54,过滤器60上游表面的锥形迫使流体从锥形过滤器60的内侧流向过滤器60表面的周边。这就造成过滤器上相对均匀的流量分配。这在不发生突然变向的情况下就可以实现,与已有技术相比,它还能降低过滤器上的压力差。流体流通过过滤器60后,在过滤器60的下游侧流出,并通过清洁器外壳54的下游侧。更具体地说,在流体流接近过滤器60时,它通过上游端开口槽纹36进入。在流体流通过上游端开口槽纹36时,下游端封闭槽纹36迫使其通过槽纹36的壁进入下游端开口槽纹34。已经被带入上游端开口槽纹36的颗粒物质将沉积于上游端开口槽纹36的内壁上。
图10中示出了另一较佳实施例的过滤器70。图10中所示的实施例将过滤器60设置在一独立的外壳78中。该实施例构造成能适用于其它现有的直列式过滤器场合。更具体地说,最好由模制塑料构成的独立外壳78装配有一入口颈部92和一出口颈部94,因而该独立外壳78可串列装配于一流体流中。
图11中示出了本发明的又一实施例,它总的由标号80表示。在过滤器外壳54的进入口处设置有一圆形或环形的叶片或导流片82。可以理解,叶片82可增大锥形过滤元件62的最外侧区域的流体流量,因而在整个锥形过滤元件62上提供均匀的流体流量分配。因此,该实施例可实现更均匀的颗粒分布和更均匀的颗粒载荷。因而,过滤元件可达到更长的使用寿命。

Claims (24)
1.一种使流体流通过它而从上游流到下游的过滤器,包括:
包含多个槽纹的过滤介质,其中每个槽纹限定出一沿轴向延伸的槽纹腔;
其中,过滤介质卷成盘绕结构,它具有一外表面以及一上游和一下游表面;介质卷的一部分上游表面向外侧和下游倾斜。
2.根据权利要求1所述的过滤器,其特征在于,还包括一容纳过滤器的导管,其中该外表面与该导管形成一密封。
3.根据权利要求1所述的过滤器,其特征在于,槽纹的第一端延伸到上游表面,槽纹的第二端延伸到下游表面。
4.根据权利要求3所述的过滤器,其特征在于,槽纹的交替端封闭。
5.根据权利要求1所述的过滤器,其特征在于,过滤器包括一基本呈锥台形的过滤器,它具有一位于上游侧的基本为平面状的中央部分和一朝离开该中央平面部分的方向倾斜的外围部分。
6.根据权利要求5所述的过滤器,其特征在于,外围部分离开平面部分倾斜约50度角。
7.根据权利要求5所述的过滤器,其特征在于,外围部分离开中央平面部分而朝外侧和下游倾斜。
8.根据权利要求1所述的过滤器,其特征在于,上游表面的中央部分的形状基本呈锥形。
9.一种使流体流通过它而从上游流到下游的过滤器,包括:
一圆柱形过滤器外壳,它具有一直径减小的上游端部分;
包含多个槽纹的过滤介质,每个槽纹限定出沿纵向延伸的槽纹分隔室,其中每个分隔室的一端封闭,分隔室的封闭端位于交替的相对端;
其中,过滤介质绕一中心部分而卷成盘绕结构,形成一上游表面和一下游表面,过滤介质卷具有一与外壳形成密封的外周边;介质卷的一个表面的中心部分纵向延伸成大致的锥形结构。
10.根据权利要求9所述的过滤器,其特征在于,还包括一心轴,其中过滤介质卷缠绕于该心轴上。
11.根据权利要求9所述的过滤器,其特征在于,还包括使流体流径向朝外散布到过滤器上的流动导向装置。
12.根据权利要求11所述的过滤器,其特征在于,该流动导向装置包括过滤器外壳中的一位于过滤介质上游的圆形叶片。
13.根据权利要求9所述的过滤器,其特征在于,过滤器外壳具有一基本平行于圆柱形过滤器外壳的轴线而延伸的侧壁。
14.一种制造过滤元件的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供一条带槽纹的过滤介质,它形成有多个槽纹分隔室;
将该过滤介质卷绕于一心轴上;
密封相邻的卷层;以及
顶出一中心部分而形成一锥形过滤器表面。
15.根据权利要求14所述的过滤器制造方法,其特征在于,通过将盘绕的过滤介质压于一锥形成形工具上而顶出该中心部分。
16.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,带槽纹的过滤介质包括粘于一起的一波纹型材料和一表面片以及位于一第一边缘条处的一连续的第一端密封条,从而形成一条形成有多个槽纹分隔室的槽纹过滤介质。
17.根据权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,将过滤介质的一第一片输送至一起皱辊,将一第二片输送至一相对辊,在起皱辊与其相对辊结合之前沿第二片的上表面涂覆密封剂,使第二片粘附于波纹片。
18.根据权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,在将过滤介质卷绕到心轴上的同时,将一第二端密封条涂覆于起褶过滤介质条的起褶侧的一第二边缘。
19.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,用一加热的密封剂密封一盘绕的过滤器,在密封剂固化之前将该盘绕的过滤器的中心部分顶出。
20.根据权利要求19所述的方法,其特征在于,在密封剂固化之前将该盘绕的过滤器置于一锥形成形工具上而形成该盘绕的过滤介质。
21.根据权利要求20所述的方法,其特征在于,在将过滤器置于成形工具上后,使中心部分被顶出的盘绕过滤器冷却,从而形成中心盘绕过滤器。
22.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,在卷绕的同时,心轴相对于槽纹过滤介质条而轴向移动。
23.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,在卷绕的同时,槽纹过滤介质条相对于心轴而轴向移动。
24.一种制造过滤元件的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供一条带槽纹的过滤介质,它形成有多个槽纹分隔室;
将该过滤介质卷绕于一心轴上;
密封相邻的卷层;以及
其中,心轴和槽纹过滤材料条彼此相对轴向移动,从而形成一锥形过滤表面。
