Abstract

在使用电池的终端中设置SIM卡。终端本体具有主PCB和与之相连的接口连接器,至少一对第一SIM卡连接端子和充电端子,它们和接口连接器形成整体并从本体基体上露出。电池组件可拆地装在终端本体的基体上,SIM卡读取器装在电池组件内,SIM卡接触装置固定在该读取器上,至少一对第二SIM卡连接端子和SIM卡读取器电连接并在电池组件的基体上与第一SIM卡连接端子相应的位置上露出,使得SIM卡和终端本体的主PCB电连接。

Description

安装在终端的电池组件内的SIM卡
本申请参照、引入以下申请并要求以其作为优先权:于1998年6月27日提交给韩国工业产权局且正式给定序号98-24602的题目为“安装在终端的电池组件内的SIM卡”(SIM Card incorporated inBattery Pack of Terminal)的申请。
本发明涉及一种包括便携电话的终端设备,尤其涉及用于存储所有用户相关信息的SIM(用户识别模块)卡,其可拆卸地插在或装在终端的电池组件中。
三种基本的数字蜂窝系统是:属于欧洲TDMA(时分多址)系统的GSM(全球通移动通信系统),NA-TDMA(北美TDMA)和CDMA(码分多址)。
GSM是一种国际标准,用于提供多种电信网络的可兼容性,并已在欧洲和其它洲的一些国家实行。
在GSM系统中的终端包括SIM卡。SIM卡几乎具有用于操作终端的所有信息,尤其是例如电话号码和网络号码以及诸如用户ID的用户信息的数据。
SIM卡被分为邮政戳记型(post stamp type)(见美国专利5320552)和信用卡型。邮政戳记型SIM卡在把电池组件从本体上除去之后被可拆卸地插入SIM卡接触装置中,然后,SIM卡接触装置被安装到终端本体上。
常规的SIM卡不论其类型如何都具有占据面积大的缺点,因而成为终端朝向轻重量小体积方向发展的障碍。
在邮政戳记型SIM卡的情况下,SIM卡读取器被安装在本体的PCB(印刷电路板)上,并通过单独实现的SIM卡接触装置使SIM卡和SIM卡读取器电连接。因此,SIM卡读取器和接触装置在本体上占据大的面积,这限制了本体的小型化,并降低了产品的竞争能力。
信用卡型的SIM卡要被推入在本体和电池组件之间以供使用,这降低了产品的接触可靠性,并为用户带来不便。
为了解决常规的SIM卡中存在的问题,本发明的目的在于提供一种安装在电池组件内的SIM卡(模块型或IC型),其可以使终端本体小型化。
为实现上述目的,提供一种设置在使用了电池的终端内的SIM卡。在该终端中,终端本体具有主PCB(印刷电路板),和主PCB相连的接口连接器,以及至少一对第一SIM卡连接端子和充电端子,这两种端子和接口连接器形成一个整体并从本体基体上露出。电池组件被可拆卸地安装在终端本体的基体上,SIM卡读取器被装在电池组件内,SIM卡接触装置被固定在SIM卡读取器上并具有一个盖子和与SIM卡读取器相连的多个端子,用于保持SIM卡,邮政戳记型SIM卡被可滑动地插入SIM卡接触装置的盖子的下方,并且至少一对第二SIM卡连接端子和SIM卡读取器电连接,并在电池组件的基体上与第一SIM卡连接端子相应的位置上露出,用于使电池组件中的SIM卡和终端本体的主PCB电连接。
通过结合附图详细说明本发明的优选实施例可以更加清楚地看出本发明的上述目的和优点,其中:
图1是按照本发明的优选实施例的从中除去电池组件的终端本体的外部透视图;
图2是按照本发明的优选实施例的可以从终端本体上拆下的电池组件的外部透视图;以及
图3是图2所示的电池组件的平面图。
现在参照附图详细说明本发明的优选实施例。在附图中相同的标号代表相同的元件。应当注意,如果认为本发明已知的功能和结构的详细说明影响了说明本发明的实质时,其将被省略。
参看图1,充电端子102用于接收来自电池组件的电源电压,如同本领域中所熟知的那样,该充电端子102被对称地暴露在除去电池组件之后的终端本体的基体12中。充电端子102和与本体10的主PCB电连接的接口连接器(未示出)相连。和电池元件相连的充电端子被暴露在电池组件的基体上与充电端子102相应的位置上。
第一SIM卡连接端子104位于充电端子102之间,并且和充电端子102的接口连接器形成一个整体,即,第一SIM卡连接端子104和本体10的主PCB电气耦联。
如图2和图3所示,本发明的电池组件20可以从终端本体10上拆下。电池组件20包括本领域熟知的电池元件和在电池组件20的下部位置内的SIM卡读取器40,以用于读写SIM卡。电池元件作为电源。
用于用户识别的SIM卡包括本领域熟知的电源接受器、用于读写数据的存储器、接地(ground)和空单元(dummy)。SIM卡接触装置30被固定地连接到SIM卡读取器40上,并且包括壳体301,盖302,铰链和多个端子303。SIM卡可以自由地从SIM卡接触装置30上拆下。通过把形成在SIM卡接触装置30的四个拐角上的凸起(未示出)插入SIM卡读取器40的孔中,并把端子303焊接到SIM卡读取器40上,SIM卡接触装置30被机械地固定到SIM卡读取器40上,其相对于基体22的表面不向上凸出。
相应于图1所示第一SIM卡连接端子104的第二SIM卡连接端子204从电池组件基体22露出。第二SIM卡连接端子204和SIM卡读取器40电连接。
标号202代表充电端子。第二SIM卡连接端子204可以独立于充电端子204而设置,并且可以被焊接到SIM卡读取器40上。
正如现有技术中公知的,SIM卡被插入SIM卡盖302的下方,盖302绕铰链转动而被保持在壳体301中,然后盖302作滑动运动而被锁定在壳体301中。这样,SIM卡便被固定地保持在壳体301中。
为了从壳体301中取出SIM卡,按相反的顺序进行上述的步骤。即,盖302从壳体301向上转动,SIM卡被取出,然后盖302被锁定在壳体301中。
本发明的电池组件20包括电池元件,保护电路,SIM卡,SIM卡接触装置,以及SIM卡读取器40。
如果设置保护电路以用于保护电池组件的电池元件避免过热,最好把保护电路和SIM卡读取器40集成在一起,并把SIM卡接触装置30固定到SIM卡读取器40上。
在电池组件被固定到终端本体上的情况下,本体的主PCB和与电池组件的SIM卡读取器相连的PCB电连接。即,本体的主PCB通过终端本体基体的SIM卡连接端子和电池组件的SIM卡连接端子依次连接到SIM卡读取器。从而,SIM卡和主PCB电连接。
虽然在本发明的实施例中,SIM卡是可以从电池组件中拆下的邮政戳记型的,但其可以和电池组件集成一个整体。此外,SIM卡和SIM卡读取器可以以模块型或IC型实施,以便被固定在其中。
按照上述的本发明,用于用户识别的SIM卡被可拆卸地包括在电池组件中,使得SIM卡、SIM卡接触装置和SIM卡读取器在本体上占据的面积被减少,从而可以使本体小型化。通过把SIM卡和SIM卡读取器构成被装在电池组件中的模块型的或IC型的,可以达到同样的效果。此外,本发明的SIM卡还具有使用户方便的优点。
虽然本发明参照特定实施例进行了说明,但这只是示例性的应用。因而,应当理解,本领域的技术人员在不脱离本发明的范围和构思的前提下可以作出各种改变和改型。

Claims (1)

1一种终端,包括:
终端本体,其具有主PCB(印刷电路板),和主PCB相连的接口连接器,以及至少一对第一SIM(用户识别模块)卡连接端子和充电端子,它们和接口连接器形成一个整体并从本体基体上露出;
电池组件,其被可拆卸地安装在终端本体的基体上;
SIM卡读取器,其被装在电池组件内;
SIM卡接触装置,其被固定在SIM卡读取器上,并具有一个盖子和与SIM卡读取器相连的多个端子,用于保持SIM卡;
邮政戳记型SIM卡,其被可滑动地插入SIM卡接触装置的盖子的下方,以及
至少一对第二SIM卡连接端子,其和SIM卡读取器电连接,并在电池组件的基体上与第一SIM卡连接端子相应的位置上露出,用于使电池组件中的SIM卡和终端本体的主PCB电连接。
