发明的领域
本发明涉及电信业务，并且更具体地涉及提供预付费电信业务的方法和系统。
发明的背景
预付费电话卡是众所周知的。电话卡提供商以有限量的金额批量地激活电话卡。这种电话卡可以从自动售货机、销售网点或其它分销中心以固定的增量金额购买，如$10，$20等。举例而言，一张$10电话卡为持卡人提供价值$10的电话时间进行电话呼叫。如果呼叫期间，卡中的剩余时间快要终止，可以提示用户只剩下特定的时间量。当指定的时间用完时，呼叫就自动终止。由于费用受到电话卡面值的限制，拥有电话卡的用户或其它任何人都不可能达到一个大的帐单。
这类预付费电话卡已经成功，因为预付费电话卡用户避免了收集和辅助操作员附加费，而且他们可以得到本地和长途呼叫而不需要信用，并且不必每月付帐单。另外，不需要硬币进行呼叫。另一个好处是操作员不需要从公用电话收集硬币，这也减少了被破坏和被盗。但是，这种预付费电话卡有很显著的缺点。这种电话卡的不方便之处在于用户必须由他/她个人亲身携带电话卡。如果忘记携带电话卡，用户在需要进行呼叫时就会更不方便。另外，以固定/预置金额发行的预付费电话卡并不是必然地与用户需要或结束使用时的电话时间量相一致。如果分配的金额太少，用户的呼叫就会过早终止。用户的唯一解决方案是更不方便地携带多张电话卡，这也可能被窃或丢失。此外，如果呼叫者使用的少于卡上分配的金额，剩余金额在以下情况可能无法使用，(1)少于进行特定呼叫所要求的基本金额或(2)太少以至于呼叫将只能进行非常短的时间。另一个严重问题是，获得一张新卡的程序是麻烦的并且消耗时间，因为要求用户亲自到发行电话卡或对电话卡续费的销售点或其它分销商处。与处置所有已使用过的预付费电话卡还相关的会有环保问题。
因此需要一种对预付费电信系统的改进方法，克服这些和其它问题。
本发明的一个目的是提供方便快捷地预缴费(以一次性或重复的方式)的预付费电信业务。
本发明的另一个目的是提供可以使用电信网预付费的预付费电信业务。
本发明的另一个目的是提供可以实现可变用户指定金额预付费的预付费电信业务。
本发明的另一个目的是提供预付费电信业务，其中对电信业务的预付费以及使用这种预付费电信业务并不需要电话卡。
本发明还有一个目的是使用户继续使用预付费业务时不必获得新的或更新的电话卡。
为了满足这些或其它目的，本发明对提供预付费电信业务使用了一种完全不同的方法。代替要求用户携带一张或多张功能受到固定金额限制的电话卡，本发明通过提供基于网络的解决方案来促进电信业务的预缴费和使用。在数据库中为用户分配一个记录。数据库记录包括帐号和相关的预付费金额。当用户从一部预付费电信终端(例如，公用电话)进行呼叫，请求电信业务(例如，一个长途电话呼叫)时，通信网通过分析用户的数据库记录来处理该请求。如果用户的记录中的预付费金额足够用于请求的业务，就授权该业务。用户记录中的预付费金额根据所提供的业务而被减少。因此，用户不需购买任何预付费电话卡，记住要携带预付费电话卡，或记住电话卡中存储的金额。这样，通过订购网络预付费业务就可以简单地获得预付费电话业务。
根据本发明，用户可以简单地向用户的预付费帐户中添加金额。用户简单地接入预付费网络业务(例如，通过拨叫正确适当的网络业务号码)，并且指示希望向数据库中用户的预付费帐号增加金额。一旦帐号和/或呼叫者被识别出来并且优选地是授权的，就提示用户输入希望向用户的数据库记录中的预付费金额域中增加的金额。用户可以决定要添加的金额是固定的还是可变的。固定金额可以使预付费特别容易，因为用户可以只简单呼叫该业务，而进行呼叫这一事实就将为他的预付费帐号中添加固定的金额。网络因此在与预付费帐号相关的数据库中产生新的预付费金额。立刻，用户就可以请求并且接收预付费电信业务，而不需电话卡并且不需考虑预付费电话卡上是否有足够的剩余资金支付所需的电信业务。

本发明可以用大量不同的方法实现，一个优选实施例使用智能网。连接到通信网的智能网节点提供预付费电信业务。智能网节点包括存储分配给网络预付费业务用户的数据库记录的业务控制处理器。每个数据库记录包括每个网络用户的预付费帐号和相关的预付费金额。业务交换处理器直接连接到用户或连接到用户的本地交换机，然后连接到控制处理器，业务交换处理器检测并且将指示涉及网络用户的预付费电信业务的呼叫路由到业务控制处理器。业务控制处理器进行必要的预付费判定，例如，呼叫者是否拥有预付费帐号，帐号当前是否有足够的资金，该呼叫者是否被授权改变帐号金额等。业务控制和/或交换处理器还协调对网络的命令，例如，授权预付费呼叫，更新记费记录等。
智能节点使用包括语音合成、语音识别、DTMF音等在内的多种技术通过网络与用户接口，以便允许用户向数据库中与用户相关的预付费金额中添加呼叫者输入的金额，或每次业务呼叫添加固定的金额。可以立即就使用与用户的预付费帐号相关的数据库中新产生的预付费金额来支付随后的预付费通信业务。
因此，本发明为电信用户和电信运营商都提供了大量的好处。对于电信用户，不需要在现有电话卡的呼叫值用完时购买或更新一个或多个预付费电话卡。因此，用户就不需要再到电信销售网点或其它预付费电话卡分销商处。值得注意的是，也不必再携带电话卡。当然，如果愿意，可以发行带有预付费网络业务电话号码和/或用户的预付费帐号的单卡，直到记住这些号码。同样，因为通过电话申请的预付费金额包括在用户每月的电话帐单中，用户不必使用现金购买新的预付费电话卡。
对于电信运营商，由于本发明允许用户经常接入预付费电信业务，就会更频繁地使用预付费电信业务，并因此为电信运营商带来更多的收入。由于不再需要常规的预付费电话卡，就省去了与制造、维护和分发那些卡相关的额外开销。由于新添加的预付费金额自动地记在用户的每月电话帐单中，预付费记费和管理也显著的减少。在环境上，不再有与塑料卡相关的额外的废物；如果公司对处置有关他们的废弃产品相关的废物负最终责任也不会有任何未来的问题。此外，电信运营商还有对预付费网络业务本身收费的选择权利。
下面将结合附图对本发明的这些和其它目的、优点和特点做更详细的描述。

发明的详细描述
在下面的描述中，出于说明的目的而不是限制，阐述了具体的细节，如具体部件、接口、技术等，以便提供对本发明彻底的理解。但是，对于本领域的技术人员，显然本发明可以通过其它与这些具体细节不同的实施例来实现。在其它例子中，省略了对众所周知的方法、装置和电路的详细描述，以便本发明的描述不受不必要细节的遮掩。

更具体地，业务交换点28检测触发条件，即识别与业务相关的网络信号并且处理这些信号；将呼叫传送到业务控制点；从业务控制处理器接收响应；检查业务控制处理器的请求是否出现具体条件，如果是，就向业务控制处理器发送相应的消息；命令在传输网中建立并释放条件；并且与智能外设设备交互操作。举例而言，本发明可以使用智能外设34为用户提供不同的语音合成通知，并且接收/解码来自双音多频电话的数字。另外，智能外设34还可以接收语音输入(而不仅仅是DTMF音)并使用适当的语音识别软件来解码用户响应。智能外设34可以包括在业务交换点28中，也可以作为一个业务交换点28通过它的交换功能可以访问的独立节点提供。
操作中，用户从电信装置14a-14e中的一个发起呼叫。来自一些装置的信令和信息(包括语音音调和/或数据)也可选地通过适当的本地交换机16a-16d与通信网12接口。另外，用户可以直接连接到业务交换点28。业务交换点28在网络上监视呼叫请求并且检测预付费网络业务触发器条件，例如，拨叫的特殊预付费网络业务号码，并且建立必须的信令路径以便将这种请求与有关用户和具体请求相关的其它信息一起送到业务控制点计算机22。
响应于预付费网络业务请求，业务点计算机22使用业务逻辑24处理该请求，使用业务逻辑24访问数据库26中必要的记录，检查记录是否正确，并且完全根据业务逻辑24发送包括语音提示、语音通信、鉴权、安全消息等在内的各种命令供业务交换点实施。业务交换计算机30使用适当的功能(如业务处理和呼叫控制功能36)实现业务控制点20请求的命令或者请求使用诸如智能外设34实现的功能。
一旦请求的预付费呼叫业务被授权，就提供该业务。举例而言，如果请求是使用预付费电信装置14a，14b，14c或14e连接电信装置14f通过网络12进行一般呼叫连接，交换装置点28就开始通过它的交换功能32和相应的本地交换机16e建立呼叫连接。在呼叫终止后，SCP计算机22修改数据库26，将预付费金额减少与所提供的业务相应的正确量。
另一个预付费通信业务涉及用户使用例如他的住宅电话14d或通过诸如互联网11连接到通信网的个人计算机14e，自动向他的预付费帐号中添加金额。当然，呼叫连接可以通过除通信网12(举例而言包括分组交换数据网，无线电话网等)以外的其它节点、交换机和网络建立。另外，向记费系统40提供预付费网络业务产生的记费信息，该记费系统包括它所拥有的计算机42和数据库44。记费系统数据库44包含网络用户的记录。
图2说明存储在业务控制点数据库26中用于根据本发明的示范实施例实现预付费网络业务的典型数据库记录50。数据库记录50包括用户帐号域52、预付费帐号域54、可选的个人识别号(PIN)或其它安全代码域56、当前预付费金额域58。
用户帐号相应于用于标识用户在通信网12中基本预约的号码。举例而言，用户帐号可以相应于用户的住宅电话号码或办公电话号码。这个用户唯一的号码用于协调预付费帐单和用户的普通每月电话帐单。此外，只要用户从他的住宅或办公电话进行呼叫，智能网络节点18立即得知作为发起电信业务的电话号码的呼叫者的用户帐号。如果呼叫者从另一部电信装置接入网络并且作为额外的安全/鉴权量度，则可能会提示呼叫者输入他的用户帐号，例如用户的住宅或办公电话号码。

最初，网络进行判断用户是否请求了预付费电信业务(块83)。在一种示范方法中可以通过拨打预付费网络业务电话号码来请求这种业务。另一个例子可以是呼叫者简单地通过一个可提示呼叫者输入预付费的电信装置来请求预付费业务。响应于提示，呼叫者输入正确的帐号(用户帐号或预付费帐号)，这由网络来进行检测。如果请求了预付费网络业务，网络就请求预付费呼叫帐号的输入或接收一些可标识正确的帐号并且鉴权或授权该请求的其它输入(块85)。举例而言，网络可能要求呼叫者输入安全代码或个人识别号码(PIN)，以便确定该业务请求是合法的并且是授权的。在一个具体的例子中，如果呼叫者是从用户电信装置进行呼叫(例如，住宅或办公电话)，网络就已经知道用户帐号。如果在块87中确定请求不知何故是无效的或未授权的，网络就向呼叫者发回适当的消息(块92)。
假设预付费网络业务请求是有效并且授权的，就检查用户的数据库记录以确定在用户的数据库记录中是否由足够的预付费金额来支付请求的电信业务。如果否，就向呼叫者发送适当的消息(块90)。如果在用户的数据库记录中有足够的预付费金额，网络就授权请求的电信业务，直至达到当前存储在用户数据库记录的预付费金额(块94)为止。网络适当地监视所有与业务支付费用相关的参数，如开始时间、过去的时间、发起位置、目的位置、费率信息等。优选地，这种监视业务是实时进行的，以便网络在呼叫者已经消费了或快要消费了存储在用户的数据库记录中的现有金额时立刻检测到。一旦到达那个点，网络就可以警告呼叫者金额/业务快要用尽，并且促使他立刻或稍后向用户数据库记录中添加新金额。
然后，网络通过使存储在记录中的预付费金额减去与将要提供或已经提供的电话通信业务相关的费用来更新用户的预付费呼叫业务记录。可产生如图3所示的正确记费记录，将其转发到记费计算机(步骤98)，并且与记费系统用户数据库相关产生用户的每月帐单。
返回到判决块99，如果预付费网络通信业务请求是向用户的数据库记录中的用户现有预付费金额中添加，网络就提示用户要添加的金额(块100)。这种提示可以是合成的语音提示。然后用户通过在电信装置上按下响应的键或通过语音输入并由网络中的适当语音识别软件检测并解码来输入希望的金额。随后，通过添加输入金额产生新的预付费金额来更新用户的数据库记录。网络使用诸如语音合成消息来确认该金额，并通知用户当前的预付费余额(块102)。网络产生正确的记费记录或其它类似消息，在用户的常规电话帐单上的诸如“预付费业务”一行下包括一个新增加的预付费金额(块98)。
图4(b)给出当从用户的住宅或办公电话或其它与用户的帐号相关的装置发出呼叫、向用户帐号内添加预付费金额时，一个更加流水线式的方法的流程图。最初，进行判断用户是否已经拨叫了预付费呼叫业务号码，例如，一个接入预付费呼叫业务的“800”号码(块110)。来自用户的住宅或办公电话到预付费呼叫业务号码的呼叫被解释为请求向用户的预付费帐号中添加金额。检查该请求的有效性并鉴权(块112)。如果在块87确定该请求是无效的或未授权，网络就向呼叫者发回一个适当的消息(块114)。假设预付费网络业务请求是有效并授权的，就自动地向数据库中的用户帐号中添加一定预置的金额，例如$10(块116)。通过诸如语音合成的消息向呼叫者确认向用户预付费帐户中自动添加的金额、以及用户当前的预付费帐号余额(块118)。产生图3所示的正确记费记录并且转发到记费计算机(块120)，并且与记费系统用户数据库一起产生用户的每月帐单。
现在结合图5描述用户如何使用图1中示范智能网络节点实现来增加他的预付费帐号余额。在步骤1，用户从用户终端拨叫预付费网络业务号码。本地交换机将该呼叫路由到业务交换点28，通过检测这些所拨的数字将其登记为一个智能网络呼叫。还使用触发功能31来收集必要的呼叫数据，然后如步骤2指示转发到业务控制点20。在步骤3，计算机22使用业务控制点20中的业务逻辑24分析来自业务交换点28的信息。
更具体地，业务控制处理器检测与这个用户终端相关的用户帐号，从数据库26中检索用户的数据库记录，检查数据库记录中当前预付费余额，并且优选地完成某种类型的鉴权。在这个例子中，业务控制处理器20向业务交换点28发送消息，指示它提示用户终端输入诸如PIN这样的安全代码(步骤4)。在步骤5，交换业务智能外设34通过交换功能32发送相应的合成语音提示，如“ENTER PIN”(输入PIN)。然后，用户输入他的PIN号码(步骤6)，通过交换函数32传递到智能外设34，将音调变换为数据(步骤7)。然后将这个数据转发到业务控制点20。业务控制点28检查输入的PIN号码，并且当它与存储在用户数据库记录中的PIN不匹配时，请求重输PIN或放弃该事务处理(步骤8)。
假设用户正确地输入了他的PIN代码，业务控制点20就指示业务交换点28提示用户电信装置14d要向他的预付费帐户中添加的金额。再一次，智能外设34产生“ENTER DOLLAR VALUE TO BE ADDED T0 YOURPREPAID CALLING ACCOUNT(输入要向你的预付呼叫帐号中加入的美元值)”这样的语音提示，通过交换功能32发送到用户终端。然后在步骤11，用户输入美元金额(例如，使用DTMF键盘输入号码)，通过交换功能32由智能外设34进行检测，将DTMF音转换为正确的数字格式，并将金额转发到业务控制点20。
业务控制点20更新存储在数据库26中的用户记录(步骤13)。然后业务控制点20通知记费系统更新记费系统数据库44中的用户帐号，以反映这次事务以及所有相关业务期间用户添加的金额(步骤14)。业务交换点28也被指示去确定与用户终端的事务。作为响应，智能外设34产生语音消息，通过交换功能32路由到用户终端以实现“YOUR PREPAID CALLING ACCOUNT HAS BEEN INCREASED BY(用户输入的金额)，YOUR NEW PREPAID ACCOUNT BALANCE IS(总金额)”即，“你的预付呼叫帐号已增加了(用户输入的金额)，你的新的预付帐号结算值是(总金额)”(步骤15)。
如前所述，本发明为用户提供大量好处。值得注意的是，用户不必再不断购买预付费电话卡。这件事情很消耗时间，因为用户必须到电信销售网点或其它分销商处。相反，预付费业务只需拨打一个电话呼叫。对于运营商，本发明不仅在与产生和管理这种卡的形成和分销相关的额外开销上降低了成本，还减少了与制造、安装、以及维护预付费电信装置上的卡阅读器相关的成本。另外，通过为用户提供特别方便的办法向他的预付费业务帐号中添加金额，最终导致更高的网络使用率并因此产生更多的网络运营商收入。
虽然在图1和5中以智能网络网络节点为背景描述了本发明，但是本发明可以使用任何类型的连接到网络的节点实现。这样一个节点只需要包含一台计算机、一个数据库、和一些与网络接口的机制。因此，在结合当前考虑的实际以及优选实施例描述本发明的同时，应该理解本发明并不限于所揭示的实施例，而是相反地希望覆盖所附权利要求的精神和范畴内包括的各种修改和等效方案。

Claims (32)

1.在通信网络中便利于通信业务预付费的方法，包括以下步骤：
为用户提供预付费帐号，该帐号具有与之相关的预付费金额；
在连接到通信网的通信终端使用预付费帐号支付向通信网请求的通信业务，根据通信网提供的通信业务来减少该预付费金额；
呼叫网络业务号码请求向预付费帐号添加特定的金额；
响应于该请求，向与预付费帐号相关的预付费金额中添加特定的金额；和
随后使用添加的金额支付以后的通信业务。
2.权利要求1的方法，其特征在于还包括响应于请求：
确定与请求相关的预付费帐号；并且
鉴权该预付费帐号。
3.权利要求2的方法，其特征在于鉴权步骤包括：
确认进行请求的呼叫者被授权向预付费帐号中添加金额。
4.权利要求3的方法，其特征在于确定步骤包括确定呼叫是否来自用户的家居或住宅电话。
5.权利要求3的方法，其特征在于确定步骤包括：
请求输入鉴权号码；
检查输入的鉴权号码；和
如果输入的鉴权号码是有效的，就继续添加与预付费帐号相关的特定金额。
6.权利要求1的方法，其特征在于还包括：
在用户的下一份帐单中包括与添加的金额相应的费用。
7.权利要求1的方法，其特征在于通信终端是一个被请求的通信装置，它要求在提供电信业务之前、之中或之后立即为电信业务付费。
8.权利要求7的方法，其特征在于还包括：
在通信终端输入预付费帐号，并且
确定与预付费帐号相关的金额是否足够支付电信业务。

为用户发行一张卡信息中包括预付费帐号的卡，其中卡信息在通信终端上输入，并且通信网确定与预付费帐号相关的金额是否足够支付所请求的通信业务。
10.用于运行可以事先为系统提供的通信业务付费的通信网的方法，包括：
在分配给网络用户的数据库中建立记录，该数据库记录包括一个预付费帐号和相关的预付费金额；
用户从预付费通信终端请求通信业务；
处理请求并检查用户的记录中的预付费金额是否足够授权所请求的业务，如果是，就授权所请求的业务；
根据提供的业务，在用户的记录中减少预付费金额；和
响应随后的用户请求向用户的记录中添加预付费金额。
11.权利要求10的方法，其特征在于添加步骤包括响应随后的用户请求向用户的记录中自动添加一个预置的金额。
12.权利要求10的方法，其特征在于还包括：
响应用户请求向数据库中的用户预付费帐号添加金额；
提示用户输入将要在数据库预付费金额中添加的金额；
向数据库预付费金额中添加用户输入的金额，在数据库中产生与预付费帐号相关的新预付费金额；和
在新预付费金额的基础上授权与预付费帐号相关的随后预付费通信业务。
13.权利要求12的方法，其特征在于还包括：
用户从连接到网络的电信装置发起通信业务，并且指示将要使用预付费帐号支付该通信业务；
提示输入预付费帐号；
输入预付费帐号以便网络处理；
如果存储在数据库中与输入的预付费帐号相关的预付费金额足以支付至少一部分通信业务，就授权该通信业务；和
根据所提供的通信业务减少数据库中的预付费金额。
14.权利要求12的方法，其特征在于还包括：
为用户产生记费记录，其中包括向数据库预付费金额中添加的金额。
15.权利要求12的方法，其特征在于数据库记录包括一个相关的用户号，该方法还包括：
在提示步骤前确认用户号。
16.权利要求15的方法，其特征在于用户号是用户从分配了用户号的通信装置呼叫时自动确认的。

检查所输入的安全号码；并且
如果输入的安全号码有效，就继续添加与预付费帐号相关的预付费金额。
18.通信系统，包括：
提供通信业务的通信网，包括在数据库中存储分配给网络用户的记录的计算机，每个数据库记录包括每个网络用户的预付费帐号和相关的预付费金额；
有权访问通信网的多个通信终端，至少一个通信终端是要求在提供所需通信业务之前付费的预付费终端；
其中，计算机处理通信网上的呼叫，检测何时请求通信业务的通信终端接入通信网，要求使用与标识的预付费帐号相关的预付费金额付费，如果预付费金额足够支付所请求的通信业务，计算机就授权所请求的通信业务。
19.权利要求18的通信系统，其特征在于计算机处理通信网上的呼叫，检测何时通信终端接入通信网，请求向数据库中的预付费帐号添加金额，并且作为响应，提示呼叫者输入将要向数据库中的预付费金额添加的金额量，并向数据库中的预付费金额添加呼叫者输入的金额，在数据库中产生与预付费帐号相关的新预付费金额，从而可以使用新的预付费金额请求并且提供预付费通信业务。
20.权利要求18的通信系统，其特征在于预付费终端是预付费公用电话、预付费蜂窝电话、和预付费数据通信装置中的一个。
21.权利要求19的通信系统，其特征在于添加预付费金额之前，计算机授权一个与请求相关的用户号。
22.权利要求18的通信系统，其特征在于还包括：
连接到网络计算机的记费计算机，以便在用户记费记录上包括向用户的预付费帐号中添加的预付费金额的费用。

在分配给网络用户的数据库中存储记录业务控制点，每个数据库记录包括每个网络用户的预付费帐号和相关的预付费金额；和
连接到业务控制处理器的业务交换点，检测并且将与网络用户相关的指示预付费通信业务的呼叫路由到业务控制处理器；
其中，当业务控制点检测到用户对预付费业务的智能网络呼叫并通知业务控制点时，业务控制点通过业务交换点与用户接口，允许用户向数据库中用户相关的预付费金额中添加呼叫者输入的金额，在数据库中产生与预付费帐号相关的新预付费金额，从而可以使用新的预付费金额请求并且提供预付费通信业务。
25.权利要求24的通信系统，其特征在于随后可以使用新的预付费金额请求并且提供预付费通信业务。
26.权利要求24的通信系统，其特征在于业务交换点包括一个智能外设，它产生通过通信网发送的合成电子语音消息以促进与用户的接口。
27.权利要求24的通信系统，其特征在于业务交换点包括一个智能外设，它检测用户通信装置输入的相应于有添加金额的DTMF音或语音识别响应，并且将该金额传送到业务控制点。
28.权利要求24的通信系统，其特征在于还包括：
连接到包括记费数据库的网络的记费处理器，其中智能网络节点通知向预付费金额添加的金额，记费处理器将该金额添加到发布给用户的帐单中。
29.用于运行可以事先为网络提供的通信业务付费的通信网的方法，包括以下步骤：
在分配给网络用户的数据库中建立记录，该数据库记录包括预付费帐号和相关的预付费金额；
用户使用预定的预付费通信业务电话号码接入网络；以及
自动向用户的记录中添加预付费金额。

使用用户的住宅或办公电话号码检查所请求的业务是否被授权，
其中，自动添加步骤是当数据库中检测到用户的住宅或办公电话时进行的。

在与用户的住宅或办公电话号码相关的电话帐单中收取自动添加的预付费金额。
