Abstract

技术领域

背景技术

本文中的术语“引出口(outlet)”代表一种机电部件，其能和建筑物中安装的布线连接。引出口和布线永久连接，从而允许外部单元根据需要通常借助整体的面板内置连接件和这种布线方便地连接。通常引出口机械地附着在或安装在墙中。常见引出口的非限制性例子包括：用于连接电话机的电话引出口；用于连接电视机、VCR等的CATV引出口；以及对电气设备连接电力的电气引出口。
LAN环境
图1示出一种典型的局域网10。这种通常采用10Base T或100 BaseTX以太网IEEE802.3接口和拓扑结构的网络把所有部件都和其连接的集线器11用作为集中部件。各个部件通过安装在各个网络引出口15a、15b和15c内的数据连接件14a、14b和14c，经由各条电缆13a、13b和13c连接到集线器11。数据连接件14a、14b和14c例如可以是RJ-45型；而电缆13a、13b和13c例如可以是5号缆线。网络10的数据部分10采用经各条电缆16a、16b和16c与网络连接件14a、14b和14c连接的数据单元(例如计算机)7a、7b和7c。服务器12也可和集线器11连接并且，可完成外部连接功能以及其它本技术领域中应用的服务器功能。

为了采用通过数字数据网络从视频源到视频目标的视频输送，需要把模拟转换成数字以及把数字转换成模拟的附加适配器。从示出用来传送模拟视频信号的数字数据网络20的图2，这会变得清楚。模数传换器(A/D)21用于通过电缆16a使视频源23和网络连接件14a连接，并且把模拟视频信号转换成数字数据。类似地，在接收端使用数模传换器(D/A)25，以把网络数据信号转换成模拟视频，馈送到视频目标24。这种A/D 21和D/A 25充当模数和数模转换的适配器并且是昂贵的，其需要和电力引出口(或其它电源)的连接，而且在市场上尚未普及。
尽管数字数据网络20便利使用常见、低价格的标准视频单元，但是需要适配器21和25，这使得安装和维护复杂并且需要附加的设备、连接和电缆。此外，这些适配器需要电力连接，这进一步使安装、使用和维护复杂化。

模拟电话网

家庭连网
家用电话服务通常采用二条或四条线，经电话引出口电话机和它们连接。

网络40通常配置成具有串联或“菊花链”拓扑结构，其中按直线方式从一个引出口到下一个引出口布线，但也可采用其它拓扑结构，例如星形、树形或者任何任意拓朴结构。但是，和该拓扑结构无关，住所内的电话布线系统总是使用连线媒介：一个或多个引出口连同二条或四条铜线提供和这些连线的直接接触以便和电话机连接。
常常希望为电话布线和数据布线二者同时使用已有的电话布线。在这种方式下，由于不需要安装附加的布线，会简化建立家中或其它建筑物中的新局域网。授予Crane的美国4,766,402号专利(以下称为“Crane”)讲授一种建立在标准双导线电话线之上的局域网，但它不同时支持电话通话。
频域/频分多路复用(FDM)概念在技术上是周知的，其提供把导线承载的带宽分成可用于传送模拟电话信号的低频频带和可用于传送数据通信或其它信号的高频频带的手段。例如在授予Reichert等的美国4,785,448号专利(以下称为“Reichert”)中说明这种机制。
授予Dichter的美国5,896,443号专利(以下称为“Dichter”)中开拓了这种技术。Dichter提出一种对住所电话布线应用频域/频分多路复用(FDM)技术的方法和设备，以便能同时传送电话信号和数据通信信号。布线上能使用的带宽分成可传送模拟电话信号的低频频带以及可传送数据通信信号的高频频带。在这样的机制下，电话通话不受影响，同时在家中已有的电话布线上提供数据通信能力。FDM还广泛地用在xDSL系统中，主要是非对称数字用户环路(ADSL)系统。
除说明住所电话系统之外，图4还示出Dichter网络的结构。网络40既为模拟电话服务又提供数据单元的局域网。数据终端设备(DTE)单元7a、7b和7c经各自的数据通信设备(DCE)单元39a、39b和39c与该局域网连接。数据通信设备的例子包括但不限于调制解调器、线路驱动器、线路接收器和收发器(本文中的术语“收发器”代表组合式发送器和收发器)，这使得可通过电话线5通信。DCE单元39a、39b和39c与各自的允许访问电话线5承载的高频频带的高通滤波器(HPF)38a、38b和38c连接。为了防止电话机对数据网络的干扰，增加低通滤波器(LPF)37a、37b和37c以隔离POTS承载频带，从而电话机22a、22b和22c与用来提供PSTN的电话线5连接。此外，为了过滤从PSTN布线33引入或进入布线33的噪声可对接线盒34连接一个低通滤波器(图中未示出)。
图5示出一个基于电话线的LAN 50，其中数据网络用于载送模拟音频数据和常规DTE网络数据。集线器31a、31b和31c允许通过DCE单元39a、39b和39c把各个DTE单元7a、7b、7c以及各个视频适配器21a、21b、25连接到各自的单个网络连接点上。适配器21a、21b和25分别与视频单元23a、23b和24连接。还示出通过各自的低通滤波器(LPF)37a、37b、37c，模拟电话机22a、22b、22c与电话引出口35a、35c、35d连接。这样，模拟电话机和模拟电话线5直接连接。
图5表明这种配置的复杂性。至少需要三种类型的外部部件：DCE单元39a、39b和39c；集线器31a、31b和31c；以及适配器21a、21b和25。这些部件的每一个通常需要单独的电源连接，这增添了连接的复杂性。从而，这种网络是复杂的并且难以安装、运行和维护。在本发明人的于2001年9月27日发表的题为“Telephone outlet and system for alocal area network over telephone lines”的国际专利申请WO 01/71970中以及其它专利申请中，提议把DCE、HPF和LPF器件集成到引出口35a、35b和35c中。但是，外部集线器31a、31b、31c以及适配器21a、21b、25仍对这种网络施加额外的复杂性。
广泛意识到，提供一种无需附加外部部件而允许在LAN环境中使用模拟视频单元的并且允许简便安装、运行和维护的装置会是有益处的。通过本发明满足该目标。
发明内容
本发明使得容易并且方便地在数字数据网络环境中传送模拟视频信号。本发明提供一种用于局域网(LAN)的带有集成的模拟视频适配器的引出口。该引出口还具有一个允许直接与模拟视频单元连接的、并且和数字数据网络一起使用的标准模拟视频连接件。
根据本发明的第一方面，提供一种与建筑物内的公用事业布线一起使用的设备，所述布线利用频分多路复用同时承载数字化的模拟信号和服务信号，其中所述数字化的模拟信号承载在数字化的模拟信号频带内，所述服务信号承载在与所述数字化的模拟信号频带不同的服务信号频带内，该设备用于允许一个模拟单元耦接到所述信号，该设备包括：
一个布线连接件，用于连接到所述布线；
一个模拟连接件，其能够耦接到一个模拟单元，并可通过操作将所述模拟单元耦接到所述数字化的模拟信号；
一个服务连接件，其可耦接到一个服务单元，用于将该服务单元耦接到所述服务信号；
一个耦接到所述模拟连接件的调制解调器，用于传送和接收所述数字化的模拟信号；

一个数据滤波器，用于只通过耦接在所述布线连接件和所述调制解调器之间的所述数字化的模拟信号频带。
根据本发明的第二方面，提供一种用于在建筑物内的布线系统上承载数字化的模拟信号的方法，该建筑物具有连接到多个访问点的公用事业布线，以便允许所述布线通过该数字化的模拟信号将模拟信号从耦接到所述布线的模拟源单元传送至耦接到所述布线的模拟目标单元，该方法包括：
在所述多个访问点之一中将源模块连接到布线，该源模块通过操作耦接到所述模拟源单元并将模拟信号转换成所述数字化的模拟信号；

将源模块或目标模块中至少之一的至少一部分安装到墙壁上；
沿着所述布线同时承载服务信号和所述数字化的模拟信号作为频分多路复用信号。
在第一实施例中，依据本发明的一种引出口和诸如以太网10BaseT(IEEE802.3)的普通LAN环境一起使用。该引出口允许通过该集成的模拟视频适配器把模拟视频单元连接到LAN，支持LAN媒介上的模拟视频，而且还利用集成的多端口单元(例如集线器，交换机或路由器)支持标准的网络数据连接。对于标准网络数据连接，该引出口还包括至少一个与一端口连接的数据连网插孔(例如若使用10Base T或100BaseTX时为RJ-45)。
在另一实施例中，该引出口在家庭或小办公室/家庭办公室(SoHo)环境下使LAN能基于建筑物内的电话布线。实现基于分组的LAN，并且依据本发明的引出口充当电话引出口、网络引出口和模拟视频。这允许在该数据网络上直接并且方便地连接模拟视频单元。在这种布局中，由于通过FDM技术隔离频谱的低频模拟部分，常规模拟电话业务不受影响。如上述那样，利用集成的多端口单元(例如集线器、交换机或路由器)该引出口还支持网络数据连接，并且在此情况下可以包括与一端口连接的数据网络插孔(例如，若使用10Base T或100Base TX时为RJ-45)。
可以把依据本发明的引出口安装成原始网络安装的一部分、作为已有网络的改进或者在已有电话线上建立一个网络。

网络80提供载送模拟视频的好处，但是需要家中可能不存在的LAN布线基础结构。在另一实施例中，本发明用在通过建筑物内置电话线形成的数据网络中，其中在频谱的低频部分上载送模拟电话信号，并且在高频部分上载送数据通信信号。图9示出一种依据本发明的引出口90，其能分离和组合频谱不同部分中的信号。引出口90通过最好位于引出口90的后部的连接件91与电话布线连接，在该后部上引出口90机械地安装到建筑物的内墙上。引出口90中的低通滤波器(LPF)37用于隔离频谱的模拟电话部分并且用于通过插孔92连接模拟电话。插孔92最好是标准电话插孔，例如北美的RJ-11。利用与包含着用于通过电话线媒介进行的数据通信的调制解调器的数据通信设备(DCE)单元39连接的高通滤波器(HPF)38隔离数据通信信号。集成集线器41允许在模拟视频适配器21、25和数据插孔73之间共享数据，其中数据插孔73用于通过带有标准数据连网接口(例如遵照IEEE802.3的10Base T接口)的DCE单元39把外部部件连接到该网络上。适配器21和25如前面说明那样允许模拟视频部件分别对插孔72和77的连接，从而允许由与插孔72和77连接的模拟视频单元产生的模拟视频信号以数字形式与通过数据插孔73接收的数字信号进行组合。插孔92最好是标准电话插孔，例用北美的RJ-11。插孔72和77最好是标准模拟视频插孔例如BNC。引出口90支持标准模拟电话(通过插孔92)以及模拟视频(通过插孔72和77)。
这样，引出口90支持四种类型的接口：常规模拟电话通话(通过插孔92)，数据通信(通过插孔73)，通过插孔72的模拟视频源连接以及通过插孔77的模拟视频目标连接。还可以提供这些功能的子集。例如，可以实现只支持模拟视频目标连接的引出口，从而不需要LPF 37和插孔92，并且不需要集线器41和插孔73以及A/D 21和相关的插孔72。在这种情况下，D/A 25和DCE单元39直接连接。图10图示说明引出口90。该引出口的形状和结构符合北美的常规电话引出口设置，并且电话插孔92为RJ-11型，数据连接件73为RJ-45型，而模拟视频连接件72和77采用BNC型连接件。
图11示出依据本发明的在电话线5a、5b、5c、5d和5e上运行的网络100。网络100使用引出口104a、101b、102c和103d。引出口104a和引出口90的不同在于不带有模拟视频目标连接支持，因为它没有D/A25和相关的插孔。引出口101b和引出口104a的不同在于不带有PSTN连接支持，因为它没有LPF 37和相关的插孔。类似地，引出口102c通过采用LPF 37b和一个模拟电话连接件插孔只允许用于PSTN连接。引出口103d和引出口90的不同在于不带有模拟视频源连接支持，因为它没有A/D 21和相关的插孔。引出口101b和引出口104a的不同在于不带有PSTN连接支持，因为它没有LPF 37和相关的插孔。这些引出口(104a、101b、102c和103d)的任何混合或者任何其它变型都是可能的。
网络80和100都支持视频单元以及DTE的连接性。但是，不限于只在各视频单元之间进行模拟视频信号传送。例如，视频源23产生的模拟视频信号可以路由到PC 17(如图1和2中示出那样)，其中在PC监视器上或者直接由数字监视器示出视频信号，并可在PC存储器中存储视频信号。类似地，可以向视频目标24输出PC或者任何其它数字存储设备中的数字内容。
图11的网络100通过模拟视频单元23a、23b和24c支持模拟视频信号传送。类似地，可以通过模拟电话机22a、22b和22c进入PSTN电话业务。此外，可以通过数据单元7a、7b和7c实现数据连网。
尽管上面把引出口79、90以及它们的变型各说明为最多具有一个视频源连接、一个视频目标连接和一个数据单元接口，应理解，在单个引出口内可支持多个这样的接口。例如可以通过添加一个辅助集线器端口(若需要的话)对引出口添加一个附加的视频源接口，该端口和一个与一个辅助连接件72相连的辅助A/D单元21连接。类似地，可以在一个引出口内包括多个数据网络接口，其中每一个与各个对应的集线器(例如集线器41a)的不同端口连接。
至此，尽管已相对于电话布线和电话引出口说明了本发明，但本发明可以类似地应用于建筑物内的任何类型的有线连网，例如CATV或电力布线。图12示出引出口110，它是本发明的一般的实施例。在总体布局上引出口110和引出口90(图9)类似。引出口110通过连接件111与相关布线连接并且具有一个集成式数据/业务分离器/组合器单元112，该单元112把布线上载送的数据和主业务信号相隔离。在电话的情况下，单元112包含有一个低通滤波器(例如LPF 37)和一个高通滤波器(例如HPF 38)。在电力布线的情况下，通过单元112分离AC电源并馈送到插座114，以便如常规那样供电。在这种情况下，一个作为电力线载波(PLC)调制解调器的调制解调器113使集线器41和集成式数据/业务分离器/组合器单元112接口，从而允许通过电力线进行数据通信。类似地，在CATV应用的情况下(其中CATV布线用作为网络基础设施)，一个同轴电缆调制解调器充当调制解调器113，并且单元112隔离CATV信号和数据信号。
尽管已相对于基于以太网的数据网络说明了本发明，但本发明可以类似地应用于任何类型的有线网络，包括不基于分组的网络。另外，尽管对于广域网分组网络是最重要的，但本发明不仅仅限于分组网络，而是可以应用到任何其中视频信号被数字化并按数字形式载送的数字数据网络。
尽管已相对于数字数据网络上的模拟视频传送说明了本发明，但本发明可以类似地应用于任何模拟信号，包括语音或模拟传感器。例如，可以利用这种网络把模拟音频信号从音频系统传送到远程模拟扬声器。
尽管已相对于利用A/D 21对输入的模拟视频或音频信号进行简单的数字化说明了本发明，但可以在引入口内应用其它模拟或数字处理。例如如图9中所示那样，可以设置一个允许压缩技术的处理器95以便能有效地使用数字数据网络的带宽。MPEG编码技术是技术上周知的压缩模拟和音频信号的技术。在这种场合下，处理器95和A/D 21的输出耦接，虽然也可以把A/D 21修改成包括由处理器95实现的MPEG编码器。类似地，可以作为D/A 25的一部分对信号进行相关的模拟或数字处理，例如把MPEG译码器作为该单元的一部分。
此外，尽管相对于基于连续导电媒介(电话、CATV或电力)的网络说明了本发明，并且和连网基础结构并联连接相关的调制解调器以及有关电路，但本发明可以等同地应用于其中如本发明人的WO 00/07322中公开那样的布线不连续而是分割成离散段的情况，把该文收录本说明书作为参考文献。
可以在办公室或家庭环境中新安装的数据网络里以及在改进应用(其中用依据本发明的引出口替代现有引出口(LAN、电话或其它))中等同地应用所说明的本发明。
尽管根据数量有限的实施例说明了本发明，应理解可对本发明作出许多变型、修改和其它应用。

Claims (20)

1.一种与建筑物内的公用事业布线(5)一起使用的设备，所述布线利用频分多路复用同时承载数字化的模拟信号和服务信号，其中所述数字化的模拟信号承载在数字化的模拟信号频带内，所述服务信号承载在与所述数字化的模拟信号频带不同的服务信号频带内，该设备用于允许一个模拟单元耦接到所述信号，该设备包括：
一个布线连接件(111)，用于连接到所述布线；
一个模拟连接件(72，77)，其能够耦接到一个模拟单元(23，24)，并可通过操作将所述模拟单元耦接到所述数字化的模拟信号；
一个服务连接件(114)，其可耦接到一个服务单元(22)，用于将该服务单元耦接到所述服务信号；
一个耦接到所述模拟连接件的调制解调器(113)，用于传送和接收所述数字化的模拟信号；
一个服务信号滤波器(37)，用于只通过耦接在所述布线连接件和所述服务连接件之间的所述服务信号频带；以及
一个数据滤波器(38)，用于只通过耦接在所述布线连接件和所述调制解调器之间的所述数字化的模拟信号频带。
2.如权利要求1所述的设备，其中，所述调制解调器通过操作，经由连接到所述设备的总线拓扑结构公用事业布线(5a，5b)通信。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述数据滤波器包括一个高通滤波器，所述服务信号滤波器包括一个低通滤波器。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，还包括一个耦接在所述模拟连接件和所述调制解调器之间的模拟-数字转换器(21)或数字-模拟转换器(25)，用于在所述数字化的模拟信号和所述模拟信号之间进行转换。
5.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述模拟信号为视频或音频信号。
6.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中所述设备至少部分地容纳于一个引出口内。
7.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述服务信号是电话、电力和CATV信号中的一个。
8.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述数字化的模拟信号是利用基于分组的协议承载的。
9.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，还包括一个耦接在所述模拟连接件和所述调制解调器之间的处理器，该处理器通过操作用于压缩或解压缩所述数字化的模拟信号。
10.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述公用事业布线还承载数据网络信号，以及所述设备还包括一个用于耦接到一个数据单元的数据通信连接件，并且该设备通过操作将该数据单元耦接到该数据网络信号。
11.如权利要求1或2所述的设备，其中，所述布线连接件可连接到现有的建筑物内布线。
12.一种用于在建筑物内的布线系统上承载数字化的模拟信号的方法，该建筑物具有连接到多个访问点的公用事业布线，以便允许所述布线通过该数字化的模拟信号将模拟信号从耦接到所述布线的模拟源单元(23)传送至耦接到所述布线的模拟目标单元(24)，该方法包括：
在所述多个访问点之一中将源模块连接到布线，该源模块通过操作耦接到所述模拟源单元(23)并将模拟信号转换成所述数字化的模拟信号；
在所述多个访问点之一中将目标模块连接到布线，该目标模块通过操作耦接到所述模拟目标单元并将所述数字化的模拟信号转换成模拟信号；
将源模块或目标模块中至少之一的至少一部分安装到墙壁上；
沿着所述布线同时承载服务信号和所述数字化的模拟信号作为频分多路复用信号。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法，还包括将源模块或目标模块中至少之一的至少一部分容纳到一个引出口。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法，其中，所述公用事业布线的至少一部分是在具有访问点的建筑物内已存在的布线，以及其中，所述方法包括将所述引出口连接到所述访问点中的一个。
15.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其中，所述源模块或所述目标模块包括一个耦接到所述公用事业布线的服务连接件，用于将服务单元耦接到服务信号。
16.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其中，所述模拟信号为视频或音频信号。
17.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其中，所述公用事业布线是电话布线、电力布线和CATV布线中的一个，所述服务信号是电话、电力和CATV信号中的一个。
18.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其中，所述数字化的模拟信号是利用基于分组的协议承载的。
19.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，还包括下列步骤：将一个压缩器提供给源模块，以便通过操作用于压缩所述模拟信号，以及将一个解压缩器提供给目标模块，以便通过操作用于解压缩和恢复所述模拟信号。
20.如权利要求12或13所述的方法，其中，所述公用事业布线还承载数据网络信号，以及，所述源模块和目标模块中的至少一个还包括一个用于耦接到一个数据单元的数据通信连接件，并且所述源模块和目标模块中的所述至少一个通过操作将该数据单元耦接到该数据网络信号。
