Abstract

现有的公共交换电话网络(PSTN)环境提供一整套电话服务。为了正确工作,服务依赖于作为呼叫建立过程一部分所携带的地址信息。此地址信息包括被叫方号码和对被叫方的两个限定符。这些限定符是地址特性(NOA)和编码设计指示器(NPI)。
在PSTN中使用被叫方号码和限定符来确定如何处理呼叫。地址特性可以是用户,国内的,或国际的。编码设计指示器可以是公共的(E.164)和专用的。与具有NOA和NPI值指示它是在专用编码设计中的相同号码相比,一个指示被叫方号码是国际公共号码的带有NOA和NPI值的拨叫号码地址将采用不同路由。

概述

首选实施例描述
现在参考图例,首先参考图1,电信系统通常由数字11指定。系统11包括大量通过IP网络13互联的网络,此互联网络在本首选实施例中是因特网。
除IP网络13外,系统11的网络包括,一个专用内部网络15,和因特网服务提供者网络17,一个公共交换电话网络19,和一个通常由数字21指定的专用电话网络。在系统11中的所有这些网络都适于提供IP电话服务。
在IP电话中,呼叫的至少一部分通过IP网络传输。呼叫建立和拆卸由例如会话初始协议(SIP)或H.323的IP信号协议支持。本发明的首选实施例利于SIP信号协议实现。媒介传输由例如实时传输协议(RTP)的IP协议支持。
在专用内联网15的环境中,IP电话技术允许例如支持IP的个人计算机23和IP电话25的设备,通过局域网(LAN)连接到专用内部网络15。个人计算机23和IP电话25是SIP客户或用户代理。它们拥有能使它们启动并参与IP电话会话的软件。相似地,在因特网服务提供者网络17的环境中,例如个人计算机27和IP电话29的IP电话设备,典型地通过拨号调制解调器连接,可操作的连接到因特网服务提供者网络17。此外,个人计算机27和IP电话29是允许它们启动并参与IP电话会话的SIP客户或用户代理。

参考图2,IP电话网关表示为39。网关39包括一个信号网关41和媒介网关43。通常,信号网关41在例如SS7的电话信号协议和例如SIP的IP电话信号协议之间提供双向协议变换。如图2所示,例如,信号网关41适于在ISDN用户方(ISUP)初始地址消息(IAM)和SIP邀请请求之间提供双向变换。媒介网关43适于在传统时分多路复用电话线路和实时传输分组协议之间提供双向协议变换。

Claims (24)
1.提供IP电话服务的方法,包括步骤:
将电话信号协议被叫方号码地址特性指示器映射到因特网信号协议地址特性指示器;并且
将电话信号协议被叫号码编码设计指示器映射到因特网信号协议编码设计指示器。
2.如在权利要求1中所述的方法,其中所述因特网信号协议是会话初始协议。
3.如在权利要求2中所述的方法,其中所述因特网协议地址特性指示器和所述因特网协议号码设计指示器包含在一个邀请请求中。
4.如在权利要求1中所述的方法,其中所述电话信号协议是SS7。
5.如在权利要求4中所述的方法,其中所述电话信号协议是ISUP。

15.如在权利要求11中所述的方法,其中所述第一信号协议是会话初始协议而所述第二信号协议是ISDN。

17.如在权利要求12中所述的方法,其中在所述第一协议中呼叫建立消息是一个邀请请求而在所述第二协议中所述呼叫建立消息是一个初始地址消息。
18.一个IP电话网关,包括:

用于将电话信号协议被叫方号码编码设计指示器映射到因特网信号协议编码设计指示器的设备。
