Abstract

Description
本发明总地涉及IP电话领域,以及更具体地涉及在IP电话中提供智能网控制业务。
互联网电话是通过一个使用互联网协议(IP)的网络在两方或者多方之间来实时递送话音以及其它多媒体数据。互联网电话是在二十世纪九十年代中期随着互联网电话软件的引入而发展起来的。互联网电话软件被设计成在配备有声卡、扬声器、话筒和调制解调器的个人计算机上运行。软件压缩该话音信号并将其变换成IP分组以便在互联网上传输。然而这种基本的PC-到-PC互联网电话仅在双方都使用互联网电话软件时才能工作。
互联网电话提供了设计一个全球多媒体通信系统的机会,该系统可能逐渐取代现有的电路交换电话基础设施。在一个相对较短的时期,互联网电话已经较快地发展。很多软件开发者现在都提供PC电话软件。
互联网电话是基于会话的而非基于连接的。一般,使用诸如H.323或者会话启动协议(SIP)的第一互联网协议来建立会话和协商会话的能力,并且使用诸如实时传输协议(RTP)的第二互联网协议来通过该IP网络传输实际的媒体。
尽管IP电话在费用和媒体类型多样性方面对用户和运营者双方都提供了益处,但是还是有一个由公共交换电话网络(PSTN)提供服务的传统电话的基本安装基础。而且,除了范围广的特性外,PSTN还提供丰富的智能网业务集,例如“800”号业务、虚拟专用网(VNET)业务、呼叫转移等。因此,IP电话无论如何都不可能很快地取代PSTN。然而,期望将PSTN与包括互联网和专用内联网的IP网络集成。这样,便会有这种情况,即:由PSTN上的电话始发的呼叫被要求经过一个基于IP的网络承载来最终递送到PSTN上的第二个电话。还期望向IP电话呼叫提供目前存在于PSTN中的所有智能网业务。
本发明提供在IP电话中提供智能网控制业务的方法和系统。该系统包括一个位置管理器和一个IP电话代理服务器。该位置服务器包括一个到诸如业务控制点(SCP)的传统电话业务控制实体的接口。该IP电话代理服务器可以是例如一个H.323关守或者一个会话启动协议(SIP)代理服务器,包括一个到该位置管理器的IP接口。

现在参考附图,且首先参考图1,总地用数字11来指代按照本发明的系统。系统11适合于在使用传统电话13和互联网电话15的用户间和用户中提供电话业务。用于按照本发明的呼叫的信令和媒体至少部分地通过总地以17指示的互联网传输。
传统电话13通过诸如PBX19和IP电话网关21的传统电话交换设备连接到互联网17。每个IP电话网关21都包括一个信令网关(未示出)和一个媒体网关(未示出)。信令网关提供在PSTN电话信令(例如SS7)消息和诸如H.323或者会话启动协议(SIP)的协议中的IP电话信令消息之间的双向变换。通常,媒体网关使用一种IP信令协议或者另一种,但不会使用两种。媒体网关提供在时分复用(TDM)信号和诸如实时传输协议(RTP)的协议中的IP传输分组之间的双向转换。IP电话15可通过一个局域网直接连接到互联网或者经互联网业务提供者通过调制解调器连接而连到互联网。
一般地,呼叫信令和媒体传输通过在入口IP电话网关21a和出口IP电话网关21b之间的互联网17。通常,由诸如SIP代理服务器23或者H.323关守25的代理服务器提供路由信息。在SIP协议中,一个邀请消息被从入口IP电话网关21a发送到SIP代理服务器23处的被叫方地址。对于不要求智能网业务的正常呼叫,该SIP代理服务器23知道出口IP电话网关21b处的被叫方地址。IP呼叫建立信令消息在IP电话网关21和SIP代理服务器23之间来回传输,直到呼叫被建立。在本发明中,该SIP代理服务器23和该H.323关守25被组合在呼叫控制实体27中。
代理服务器23和25不能单独处理要求智能网业务的呼叫。要求智能网业务的呼叫的示例是“800”号呼叫、虚拟专用网(VNET)呼叫、本地号码可携带呼叫、进行呼叫转移的呼叫等。在传统的PSTN电话中,交换机向被称为业务控制点(SCP)的业务控制实体咨询路由信息,例如号码变换,以便适当地路由呼叫。
系统11利用传统的PSTN系统业务控制实体,它总地以29指示,可以是一个SCP。系统11包括一个位置管理器31,它向呼叫控制实体27提供别名解析、网关选择和移动管理业务,以及代替该呼叫控制实体27去为VNET和本地号码可携带性等业务而接入业务控制实体29。
位置管理器31充当一个SIP重定向服务器。重定向服务器是一个接受SIP请求、将地址映射成零或者多个新地址并且将这些地址返回给客户机的服务器。与SIP用户代理服务器不同,重定向服务器不启动它自己的SIP请求。与SIP用户代理服务器不同,重定向服务器不接受呼叫。这样,如果一个呼叫控制实体27的服务器不能发送一个会话启动请求给该IP电话网关21,则该服务器发送一个会话启动请求给位置管理器31处的被叫方。位置管理器31咨询它自己的数据库或者接入传统业务控制实体29去获得被叫方的一个新地址。然后位置管理器31将该新地址返回给该呼叫控制实体27的合适的服务器。
在本发明的优选实施例中,该H.323关守25被修改成在SIP协议中起作用。这样,该H.323关守25以H.323协议与H.323 IP电话网关和互联网设施通信,以及以SIP协议与SIP IP电话网关、互联网设施和位置管理器31通信。
现在参考图2,PBX 19a发送一个建立消息33给IP电话网关21a。该IP电话网关21a将建立消息33映射成被定址到SIP代理服务器23的SIP邀请请求35。该SIP代理服务器23不能单独处理一个VNET呼叫的建立。因此,该SIP代理服务器23发送一个SIP邀请请求37给位置管理器31处的被拨打的号码。
在接收该邀请请求37之后,位置管理器31立即以路由请求39去询问业务控制实体29。业务控制实体29执行数据查找并且以路由响应41来响应该位置管理器31。位置管理器31将响应41映射成指定回SIP代理服务器23的SIP临时移动响应43。正如本领域的技术人员所熟知的,该SIP响应通过一个号码来识别,对于临时移动响应的情况该号码是302。响应43向SIP代理服务器23提供被叫方在出口IP电话网关21b处的IP地址。因此,SIP代理服务器23发送一个邀请请求45给出口IP电话网关21b处的被叫方。
