发明领域
本发明涉及用户可激活的物质递送系统,尤其是可通过张力激活的系统。
发明背景
包装的肥皂、香水、洗液、粘合剂等在本领域是熟知的。这类物质一般都用一次性包装递送。例如,洗手皂可用合适的包装如折叠式包装纸来包装,用户使用前需移除该包装纸。液体如洗发香波、洗液一般用可撕开包装的形式提供,而且洗发香波、洗液可直接从包装中分配使用。同样,液体如洗液、肥皂、香水等可在基质上提供,如封装在包装中的擦拭物。用户可通过如撕开、移除擦拭物和将液体转移到皮肤上等方法来打开包装。
因此,在很多已知的物质递送系统和包装中,需要从包装中取出要递送的物质,之后将包装扔掉。也就是说,包装的作用很小,其只是在消费者使用前起简单的物质保护作用。这种作法很浪费,原因在于售出之后包装仅成为一种必须要处理掉的垃圾。
因此,希望有这样一种物质递送系统,该系统可有效利用其本身包装,以使包装在物质使用之前不必被丢弃。
另外,希望有一种用户可以最小的力即可将其激活的物质递送系统。
最后,希望有一种物质递送系统,其中消费者可将包装用于其它用途。
发明概述
本发明用户可激活的物质递送系统包括第一织网和第二织网,所述第一织网和第二织网具有周边并由它们各自的周边围绕并限定空隙空间。物质设置于该空隙空间中。至少所述第一或第二织网之一具有至少一个联结点,所述联结点具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与第一方向垂直。所述(一个或多个)联结点限定一熔融弱化区域,以使所施加的力具有平行于横向轴的矢量分量,联结点破裂在各自的网上形成相应的孔。所述孔提供流体通道便于物质的暴露或递送。
在另一个实施方案中,本发明可用户激活的物质递送系统包括第一织网和第二织网,第一织网和第二织网在多个离散联结点处面对面相连接,每个联结点具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与第一方向垂直。用户激活后,需递送的物质设置于第一织网和第二织网之间的内部区域。每个联结点限定熔融弱化区域,使得在具有与横向轴平行的矢量分量的力的作用下,所述联结点破裂,并在各自的织网上形成相应的孔。所述孔在各自周边具有非粘合部分,从而提供流体通道以便于暴露和递送所述物质。

发明详述
本发明中使用的术语“用户可激活的”用于说明以某一种状态递送给用户的制品,目的是由用户改变,如通过延伸变成另一种状态,该状态适于且能够执行有用功能,如暴露或递送有益物质。
本发明中使用的术语“物质递送系统”用于描述物质组合,如液体、气体、粉末等以及包含物质的包装,该组合适于用户“激活”该系统,如本发明中所述,以便于暴露和递送所述物质。
因此,用户可激活的物质递送系统包括包装中包含的物质,直到用户激活系统(或引起所述系统激活),从而递送或暴露物质用于其意图的用途之前,应认为其共同构成系统。因此,本发明物质递送系统非限定的实施例为密封包装,或小袋,包含液体物质如香水、防菌护肤液、防晒霜或其它同类物质,液体物质包含于其中,直到用户沿指定方向施加张力激活所述系统,此时所述液体可从所述包装中释放。因此,本发明尤其有用之处在于用户使用最小的力即可激活所述物质递送系统,且如下所述,所述物质使用后容器或包装无须丢弃,仍可用作其它用途。
本发明使用的术语“薄膜”或“聚合物薄膜”用于描述本领域已知的液体防渗聚合物薄膜。该薄膜典型地为可作为织网的薄膜。该薄膜的典型材料包括但不限于聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酯、交联共聚物及其组合物。这类的薄膜可采用已知的方法例如开孔法使其可渗透液体。该薄膜可具有微孔和/或能“呼吸”,即允许气体或蒸气透过,而基本保持液体渗透性。在用户激活前,该薄膜可制成微孔,或由用户激活时成为微孔的前体(填充)薄膜。本发明使用的术语“无纺织网”采用其本领域所知的通常含义,且指具有独立纤维或非规则重复形式的层间纤维的织网。无纺织网以前可用各种方法制成,例如熔吹法、纺粘法、粘合梳理法。
本发明使用的术语“微纤维”是指小直径纤维,其平均直径不超过约100微米。
本发明使用的术语“熔吹纤维”是指将熔融热塑性材料挤入多个通常为圆形的精细模制微细管,而形成为熔融丝或纤维,通过高速气流(如空气)使熔融热塑性材料纤丝变细以减小纤维直径,可为微纤维直径。
本发明使用的术语“纺粘纤维”指由多个通常为圆形的精细喷丝头微细管挤出熔融热塑性材料为纤丝,然后用抽丝法快速缩小而形成的小直径纤维,该喷丝直径为所述挤出纤丝直径。
本发明使用的术语“整体织网”是指层压的两个或多个织网材料,包括利用如热粘合法充分联结以作为整体网处理、加工或此外进行使用的聚合物薄膜和无纺织网。
本发明使用的术语“聚合物”一般包括但不限于均聚物、共聚物(例如以嵌段、接枝、随机形式)及其它共聚物、三元共聚物等,以及其混合物或改性物。而且,除非另有具体限定,术语“聚合物”应包括所述材料的所有可能的几何构形。这些构形包括但不只限于全同立构、间同立构以及随机对称。
本发明使用的术语“弹性”指在偏置力作用下可延伸的物质,也就是说至少可伸长约60%(即延伸后偏置长度至少达到松弛无偏置长度的160%),而且在延伸力释放后可以恢复伸长长度的55%。假定实施例样本长为2.5cm(1英寸),则至少可伸长4cm(1.60英寸),而且在伸长至4cm(1.60英寸)后释放,长度恢复为不超过3.23cm(1.27英寸)。
许多弹性材料可以伸长超过60%(即,远超过松弛长度的160%),例如伸长100%或更多,而且许多材料在所施加力释放后基本恢复到初始松弛长度,如至初始松弛长度的105%以内。本发明中以下材料命名为术语“高弹性”,意指由施加的偏置力决定的可以延伸即伸长约200%(即,延伸后偏置长度为至少非偏置松弛长度的约300%),而且在延伸力释放后可延伸至初始松弛长度的105%以内。因此高弹性材料一般指具有弹性,但不是所有弹性材料都有高弹性。
本发明使用的术语“非弹性”是指不属以上定义所述弹性范围之内的任何材料。
本发明使用的术语“可延伸的”是指在偏置力作用下,任何可伸长至少25%而不会导致灾难性故障的材料。灾难性故障包括明显的撕裂、裂缝、破裂或其它的张力失效,如果用标准的张力检验器测试,所述失效会引起张力突然明显地减小。本发明使用的术语“高可延伸性”是指在偏置力作用下的任何可延伸至少约100%而不会导致灾难性故障的材料。
本发明使用的术语“流体”既指液体也指气体。液体既包括粘度相对较低的流体(即小于约5,000cps),也包括粘度相对较高的流体(即大于约5,000cps)。
本发明使用的术语“加工方向”如通常本领域所知,而且指正在处理的织网材料的纵向。同样“交叉方向”亦如本领域通常所知,而且指与加工方向所在的平面垂直的方向。在形成由这种网制成的成品中,术语加工方向和交叉方向指制成成品前的前体织网材料各自的方向。
本发明的用户可激活的物质递送系统的一个实施方案如图1和2所示。如图所示,物质递送系统1包括包含在包装中的物质3,此包装在本实施方案中描述为由第一织网和第二织网形成的小袋,第一织网称为第一外层2,第二织网称为第二外层4。外层2和4具有外周边,称之为附加边,相互连接形成外围边缘7。在一些实施方案中,外围边缘的伸长性可通过使用可伸长或弹性粘合剂或通过间断紧密间隔热粘合得到保持。可用任何合适的方法如粘合剂粘合,沿外围边缘7密封外层。例如,如果外层2和4为热塑性材料,合适的方法包括连续或间断的热密封。
如图1和2所示的所述实施方案的小袋可由两个分离的织网沿其各自整个周边粘合形成。所述小袋也可用其它已知的方法形成,如折叠单片织网本身(如,折成C形,有时指折成钱包形),密封未连接周边边缘(例如,如果所述小袋为矩形则有三条边未连接,如果为三角形则有两条边未连接,等)。如果用折叠单片织网本身形成小袋,折叠的两个“腿”,如折叠时形成的两个面板,可视为第一织网和第二织网,即上述外层2和4。
通过联结第一织网和第二织网的各自周边,所述第一层2和第二层4之间产生一空隙空间8。这一空隙空间就是设置需递送物质3的所在。
外层2或4其一或两者可以是热塑性材料,如薄膜或无纺材料,或织成织物。如果图1所示小袋形式的所述物质递送系统为密封的,则外层2和4应包含液体不能透过的薄膜层,如本领域已知的常见封装材料。合适的薄膜包括P18-2870和P18-1401,厚度一般在约0.5至10mils之间,而且可以从位于Ohio州的Cincinnati的Clopay,Inc.商购。这种薄膜层的基重范围为每平方米约10g至约250g(gsm)。
在某些实施方案中,例如递送干肥皂如肥皂粉时需由用户可激活的物质递送系统加湿,或递送高粘性材料时,外层2和4其一或两者应为相对多孔的材料如无纺材料。任何可热熔的无纺材料包括纺粘、熔吹、梳理以及纺缀材料都可用于本发明。本发明使用的术语“可热熔的”是指那些在受到足够的热和/或压力下会形成联结点的材料。一般说来,所有热塑性材料都为可热熔材料。在优选的实施方案中,无纺材料的基重在约10至100gsm之间。可因其某一性能特征如柔软性、磨损性、成本、可获得性以及其它的技术、市场或商用考虑来选择某特定类型的无纺材料。以下更完整地公开了与其它实施方案相关的某些优选无纺材料。
图1所示的所述物质递送系统1的外层2或4其一或两者,具有多个用于弱化联结点5附近的织网的联结点5。实施方案上下文中的术语“联结点”如图1所示,是指加热和加压后弱化织网的局部区域,而且可以指或不指多于一层的联结。因此,联结点5可描述为单层或多层层压材料中的熔融弱化区域。典型联结点如图3所示。如图所示,联结点5有伸长形状,其具有与联结点5长度L方向相应的纵向轴1,及与联结点5宽度W方向相应的横向轴t,横向轴t与纵向轴1垂直。为了非限定性说明的目的,可以认为所述联结点5为二维的,由所述轴1和t限定所述联结点5。
在一个实施方案中,每个联结点5规则重复排列在多个联结点5中,联结点5的所述纵向轴1定向为同一方向,如外层2和/或4的加工方向MD,如图1所示。但是每个联结点的所述纵向轴可沿交织方向定向规则重复排列,或以交织与加工方向混合定向的伪随机图案。在一个实施方案中,至少所有联结点中一部分其各自纵向轴1以相同方向定向。例如,所述联结点5可以“人字形”图案排列,其中联结点5的第一部分的纵向轴1定向于第一方向,而联结点的第二部分的纵向轴定向于第二方向,第二方向与所述第一个方向设置成一定角度。
每个联结点5在所述联结点各自的织网2和/或4上形成局部熔融弱化区域,在施加具有平行于各自横向轴t的矢量分量的力时,若该力足以导致联结点5破裂、或撕裂、或此外使张力失效,则物质递送系统1将形成孔或开口。所加力的矢量分量必须足以使联结点5的熔融弱化区域破裂,而仅在所施加力完全与横向轴t平行时,所需施加力对于给定织网和物质的组合可最小化。在一个实施方案中,这可由用户抓握本发明物质递送系统实现,沿合适的相对边缘拉伸使系统可视为二维系统,则基本所有施加力的方向均与各自联结点的横向轴t相对应。另一实施方案中,所施加的力由用户激活过程的方法产生,此过程中间接施加了足够张力。因此,与所施加力的矢量分量相关,术语“与所述横向轴平行”是指可区分,例如沿图2中标记为Z的方向施加的力。熔融联结点50纵横比较大,允许在足够张力下形成较大开孔。
参见附图1和2,如果至少一个联结点5定向为,其各纵向轴1沿加工方向MD对齐,张力沿与交叉方向CD相应的方向T施加,在联结点5的张力会引起联结点破裂、开口、展开,形成孔或开口6,如图4中剖面图所示。一般来讲,对于多个联结点5,当均匀拉伸所述物质递送系统1时,结果为多个孔径6的规则图案,与熔融联结点5图案对应。某些实施方案中,仅需由用户抓握物质递送系统1边缘,并以足够的力拉伸,可获得为使所述联结点5破裂和开口所必需施加的力。
重要的是区分联结点5和其它所知的“弱线”,例如由一系列相距较近的穿孔形成的线。联结点5没有穿孔,而且直至如上所述用户激活,才能提供空隙空间8和所述物质递送系统1之间的流体通道。
因此,在一个实施方案中,如图1所示的用户可激活的物质递送系统由提供的密封小袋(可为密封的,或较为多孔的织网,孔应具有足够密度以包含物质)来实现,小袋可由用户或消费者拉伸以形成能释放内封物质的孔。例如,外层2和4可由液体不能透过的薄膜形成密封小袋,小袋包含物质3,例如洗涤液。所述物质递送系统1保持干燥,直至用户在适当方向施加张力T,此时形成孔6,并释放所包含物质3。特定张力可根据选用合适材料和联结点大小等技术因素确定,以便用手易于施加足够张力,如抓住小袋相对的两侧向相应方向拉。
在另一个实施方案中,如图1所示的用户可激活的物质递送系统由提供密封小袋(可为密封的,或较为多孔的织网,织网边缘应充分密封以包含物质)来实现,其中用户激活使用方案,其中上述具有足够矢量分量的力间接产生。这种使用方法的一个实施例是洗涤剂释放包装,一旦用户将其置于洗衣机中,则被洗衣机机械装置激活。
如图1所示,本发明的很多变化都可以实现。例如,外层2和/或4包括无纺织网如无纺材料/层压薄膜,所述物质3可以是干肥皂粉。用户可方便地携带所述小袋,如装在他或她的口袋中。当向合适方向拉长时,外层2和/或4如上所述形成孔,而且打湿后,所述干肥皂可起皂沫。因此,软而柔顺的无纺材料和拉伸后暴露的清洁剂组成了一个毛巾。以这种方式,所述毛巾使用前可以方便地装在一个人的口袋或手袋中。如果需要,用户可以通过拉伸激活包装,此时所述包装变成毛巾的一部分。
图1所示的本实施方案的另一变化是每一外层2或4可以是层压材料,如包含薄膜/金属箔的层压织网和无纺材料。在一个实施方案中,层压材料包装成小袋,小袋有暴露在外的无纺材料外层。以这种方式,可在所述小袋中密封包装挥发性和/或化学反应物。一旦如上所述受力或开口,所装物质就会暴露。
参见附图1,所公布的实施方案中小袋所装物质3可为任何适用于用户可激活的物质递送系统的物质。例如,所述物质3可以是低粘度流体,如香水,可以通过激活暴露,然后用无纺材料外层2或4擦在身体上。其它粘度相对较低的流体包括水和粘度类似于水的合成物,如水基清洁流体。同样,物质3可以是粘度相对高的流体,如油、油脂、霜膏、凝胶或洗液,如防晒霜、驱虫剂、柔肤水或其它同类物质。物质3也可以是出牙凝胶。所述出牙凝胶可以装在一次性围嘴做成的小袋中。婴儿可系用一次性围嘴,婴儿在咬嚼出牙凝胶时会将出牙凝胶释放到婴儿的牙床中。
对于医疗用途,物质3可以是无菌物质,例如抗菌霜,可以通过上述拉伸方式暴露,而且用擦拭的方法使用。整个小袋的另一应用可以是绷带,适于用户激活暴露医药物质3,可直接用在伤口上。
在另一个实施方案中,所述物质3可以是粘合物质。粘合剂可以包括高粘度流体粘性物质。优选的粘性物质是能够长时间保持粘性的物质,如H-2120或H-2511。合适的粘合剂包括热熔融粘合剂,例如H-2031,可从位于WI州Wauwatosa的Ato-Findley处购买),使用该物质可采用喷涂、开槽涂层以及本领域已知的其它方法。小袋可配置为用作粘接部件。在本实施方案中,所述外层2或4可以是薄膜,该薄膜可通过拉伸暴露内部粘性物质3激活。例如所述薄膜然后可用作胶带。本实施方案中,提供“小袋”作为胶带或卷状构型的织网,如本领域中已知的作为胶带使用的织网可能是有益的。在本实施方案中,图1中只有纵边7是密封的。在一个优选的配置中,张力T的方向为所述胶带的纵向,以便用户拉胶带的末端就可激活。
在另一个实施方案中,粘性物质3可为采用喷涂法的3M喷涂粘合剂,采用挤出法的硅树脂粘合剂如RTV粘合剂,以及热熔融粘合剂,其在室温下不具粘性,但升温和/或升压时可重新具有粘性。
在另一个实施方案中,粘性物质3可为身体粘合剂,可能与医疗物质结合使用,以使所述物质递送系统1为自粘性绷带。这样的绷带可以紧紧地裹在身体上,裹时由用户激活以暴露所述物质。
在另一个实施方案中,外层2和/或4可以是能恢复和/或有弹性的材料,以便任何孔可重新闭合,以中断或限制所述物质3的暴露。例如,如上述粘性绷带中,去除成孔力时,孔充分闭合以防进一步暴露粘合剂直至施加后续力。以这种方式,近似于“A牌绷带”的绷带有其固用的保存法,而且可以多次使用。
另一方面,物质3在连续释放部分物质3的时间段内可用表计量。例如,如果物质3为防晒霜,首次激活时可应用防晒霜的一部分,此后添加所需附加的部分。
以与上述相同的方式可得到外层材料和物质3的其它组合。不受理论的约束,据信任何可用合适外层形成上述小袋中包含的物质均可用本发明所述系统封装。可能的组合仅限于这种物质递送系统的有效应用范围。
所述联结点5为熔融弱化区域,采用如下所述相对于本发明中所述系统附加实施方案的热点压制法形成。也就是说,如下所述参见图9的方法可用于形成外层2和/或4,包括层压材料。
所述联结点5具有相对较窄的宽度W和相对高的纵横比。例如,图3为典型单次熔融联结点5的熔融区域示意图,有窄宽度W和高的纵横比,即高度L比宽度W大得多。宽度W在约0.008cm(0.003英寸)至约0.05cm(0.020英寸)之间,但在优选实施方案中,宽度在约0.01cm(0.005英寸)至约0.03cm(0.010英寸)之间,而且可按所希望的特性进行调整。单个联结点5的大小及其与邻近联结点的关系(即粘合图案)由粘合设备的隆起物决定。虽然在图1所示某一实施方案中,所述图案包括多个联结点5,每个联结点各纵向轴1定向为同一方向。在一些实施方案中,轴1定向可变化或为随机则是可取的。任何一次事件中,当所加张力方向具有与轴t平行的矢量分量时,任何给定联结点5上形成孔6的激活机构最有效。
据信,联结点5的纵横比可以低至为约2(即L/W=2/1),而且仍允许合适方向上织网扩展张力足够低,使得联结点向孔过渡。纵横比也可以在约2和100之间,或在约3至50之间,优选在约4至30之间。在一个实施方案中,纵横比为约10,而另一实施方案中为约25。所述联结点5的纵横比仅受如下所述形成联结点5的压制辊点粘合相应的纵横比限制。
当无纺织网用作物质递送系统1的外层2或4时,重要的是将联结点5可能出现在组成层本身中的热联结点进行区分。例如,无纺织网典型地由按离散间隔的熔融粘合区域组成的规则图案进行热粘合加固,例如授于Hansen等人的美国专利3,855,046中公布的图案,以及授于Levy等人的美国专利5,620,779中公布的一般由图10和11所示的图案。出于美观考虑,其它薄膜、无纺织网等具有热压花。联结点5主要在于其相对大的纵横比以及倾向于弱化各自织网以使其在张力作用下破裂,使联结点5形成孔6。例如商用无纺织网联结点的纵横比典型地不大于1,因而不具有纵向尺寸。碱性无纺材料的联结点与联结点5共同定义了可描述或不可描述为柱状、规则或均匀的复杂联结点图案。
本发明物质递送系统另一实施方案为图5所示的物质递送系统10。图5为切去一部分的物质递送系统,物质递送系统至少一部分为粘合层压材料,其中第一外层20和第二外层30由多个联结点50以面对面关系粘接,如图5和6所示。
所述外层20和30应足够薄以能进行本发明所述加工,但是没有实际厚度(即卡尺径,即Z方向上)限制。第一外层20优选地可热熔,而且优选为热塑性薄膜或无纺织网,其包括足量热熔融材料以使联结点50热粘合。“足量”指施加热和/或压力以形成整体层压织网时,可产生足够热粘合的热熔融材料的量。优选第二外层40材料与第一外层20材料一样,但也可以是同样可热粘合的不同材料。物质30置于两个外层之间。
所述联结点50由联结方法形成,如超声波焊接或如下所述的热压制法,这样可联结外层20和40,并且在一些实施方案中,与物质30的一部分共同形成整体网的组成部分。联结时两外层间形成内部区域80。所述内部区域指包围所述联结点50的两个外层之间的空间。在一个优选实施方案中,所述物质30充分装入所述内部区域。
尽管所述物质递送系统10主要公布为无纺织网及其合成材料的情况下,但所述物质递送系统10主要由满足要求(例如熔融性、较低厚度)的无纺织网材料构成,以便用本发明所公布的方法加工。例如,所述外层20和40可以是薄膜、微孔薄膜、多孔薄膜等。当所述物质递送系统10由用户延展激活时,物质30可以是任何可用于递送的物质。
如果物质30本身就是某种类型的织网材料,或加在某种织网材料上,在被处理进入所述物质递送系统10时,物质可以成孔。因此,图5所示实施方案中,三层层压材料形成的物质递送系统10的特点为物质递送系统10(作为整体)使用前未开孔,而包含物质30的织网材料已经开孔。描述物质递送系统10的一种方法为,从距离约50cm处用肉眼垂直查看,整个层压材料上无开孔或穿孔。尽管如此,联结点50孔仍可见。
所述物质递送系统10的另一特点为所述外层20和40不用粘合剂即可粘合成一体。就是说,虽然粘合剂可用于某一实施方案中,但在某些优选实施方案中不要求使用粘合剂将所述外层20和40粘合。在组成层中输入能量进行联结,例如,所述两外层在联结点50用熔融粘合法联结在一起。在其它实施方案中,可通过超声波焊接输入能量。因此,本发明的明显益处在于可以整体网形式组成物质递送系统,而无须粘合剂形成。
如图6所示,物质30选择为,当物质递送系统10的组成织网20和40在联结点50联结时,所述联结点50处的物质30一部分分离,允许所述第一外层20与第二外层40在联结点50两种材料的接口52处直接热熔粘合。因此,如果物质30均匀分布在外层20和40之间,那么如本发明下述方法所详述物质30在外层粘合前明显移位。
物质30无需与外层20和40热兼容。物质30无需为热塑性材料,甚至无需具有熔点。仅需在如下详述的处理设备加力时进行移位。重要的是考虑到,如果把热熔做为粘合工艺,物质30应具有适用的挥发特性,以使在加工时不会燃烧。
本发明所述方法的另一优点在于,在某些实施方案中,例如,对于液体物质30或有实芯物质30材料(即物质30可作为具有明显的孔、缝隙或其它空隙的连续板递送,或可在连续板之上递送),将导致物质30与所述外层20和40完全紧密接触。“完全”和“紧密”意指物质30充满外层20和40间的非粘合区,以使外层20和40仅在所述联结点50处的相接触。当然,很多所需注意的物质具有明显的空气含量,而且充满外层20和40间的“所有”空间不意味着所有空气含量已去除,这一点已得到公认。因此希望提高所述物质30使用前的稳定性。
物质递送系统10由如下所述的热点压制加工方法形成。参见附图1-3所说明的实施方案,所述联结点50宽度W较窄,纵横比较大。例如,再次参考附图3,单联结点50的熔融区宽度W较窄,纵横比较大,即,长度L比宽度W大很多。长度L应选为,可允许足够的熔合区域而宽度W充分窄,以使用于形成联结点的隆起物(如下所述)可以切割、修剪或移位,或用如下所述方法使形成物质30所在联结点区域。宽度W可在约0.008cm(0.003英寸)至0.05cm(0.020英寸)之间,但是在优选的实施方案中,W在0.01cm(0.005英寸)至0.03cm(0.010英寸)之间,而且可依据物质30的性质调节。
据信熔融联结点50的纵横比可以低至为约2(即L/W=2/1)。所述联结点50的纵横比仅受如下详述的压制辊隆起粘合点的相应纵横比限制。
在一个实施方案中,每个联结点50设置为多个联结点50的规则重复图案,并具有定向为同一方向的每个联结点50的纵向轴1,例如以外层20或40的加工方向MD,如图5所示。在一个实施方案中,至少联结点总数中的一部分包括其各纵向轴1定向为同一方向的联结点。例如,所述联结点50可置为“人字形”图案,其中联结点50的第一部分具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴1,联结点50的第二部分具有定向于第二方向的纵向轴1,第二方向与第一方向设置为一定角度。
当使用无纺织网作为物质递送系统10的组成层时,重要的是区分联结点50与热联结点,联结点50与外层20和40利用本发明所述方法粘合,热联结点则出现于所述组成层本身中。如上所述,无纺织网典型地由按离散间隔的熔融粘合区组成的规则图案进行热粘合加固。其它的薄膜、无纺织网等,出于美观原因可具有热压花。因此,所述物质递送系统10中可有很多热联结点,其中一些为联结点50,其它为如碱性无纺材料的联结点。在图5-6中通常所示的实施方案中,联结点50突出特点为,不仅具有较大纵横比,而且它们粘合外层20和40。这种特性可从图17的照片中清楚地看出,图17显示有菱形加固联结点和大纵横比的粘合部分50的典型无纺织网。
如图6中剖面图所示,本发明最终系统物质递送系统10本身无孔,但是所述物质30有开孔,且与联结点50的区域重合。当然,如果物质30为粘性物质或液体,术语“有孔的”仅指,如果使粘性物质或液体如用冷冻的方式变成固体,所述物质30会显示出开孔。如上所述,总体来说,“无孔的”意指所述物质递送系统10可认为是无孔的。
已得到公认的是,由于材料处理变化和后层压处理,本发明中所述无孔物质递送系统10,联结点50可能具有切断或撕裂处。出于商业原因,应该消除整体织网切断情况,而出于密封实施方案的考虑,则必须消除整体织网切断情况。同样,已公认在某些实施例中,所述物质30在粘合部分50的所有位置上不能完全移位,使得物质30的局部部分不会完全移位(所述外层未粘合)。尽管如此,本发明所述的物质递送系统10为一整体,不受由于材料或处理可能的变化而导致误差或反常现象所限。
所述物质30本身无需与所述外层热兼容。所述物质30甚至不可进行熔融加工。例如,它可包括粉末、金属材料或热固塑料。所述物质30可以为薄膜或无纺织网形式,其上(或其中)包括干肥皂粉、粘合剂、香水、驱虫剂等。例如,物质30可以为预先浸湿擦拭基质,加工成网状物质加入本发明物质递送系统中。
每个粘合部分50在所述联结点区域中形成局部熔融弱化区域,以使所加的力具有矢量分量之与各自的横向轴t平行,该力足以导致所述粘合部分50破裂或撕裂或张力失效,则在物质递送系统10中形成孔或开口。所加力的矢量分量必须足以使所述粘合部分50的熔融弱化区域破裂,因此对于给定的网和物质组合,所加力必须完全与横向轴t平行,可使所要求的力最小。在一个实施方案中,这可由用户抓握物质递送系统10,并沿适当的对边拉伸而获得,则系统可认为是二维系统,基本上所有力均施加于与各自联结点横向轴t相应的方向。在另一个实施方案中,所加力可以由用户开始处理从而间接施加足够张力的加工方法产生。因此,就所加力的矢量分量而言,术语“与横向轴平行”意指可施加之力的突出特点在于,该力的方向为如以图6中“Z”所指方向。熔融联结点50较大的纵横比允许在足够拉伸下形成的孔较大。
参见附图5至8,如果至少一个粘合部分50定向为各自纵向轴1与加工方向MD对齐,而且沿与交叉方向CD对应的方向T施加张力,加在联结点50处的张力将导致联结点破裂、开口和扩展,从而形成如图7和8所示的孔和开口60。一般而言,对多个联结点50,所述物质递送系统10受到均匀的张力时,其结果为多个孔60的规则图案与联结点50的图案对应。用户仅需抓住物质递送系统1的适当边并以足够力进行拉伸,以在联结点5形成破裂和开口,即可施加所需力。
图7显示本发明物质递送系统10部分剖视图表示。如图所示,部分剖面图允许以平面图的形式检视每一层或折层。图7中显示由用户沿如上所述适当方向扩展的所述物质递送系统10,该方向相对于联结点50的所述纵向轴1,在该情况下为沿张力方向足够延伸的交织加工方向CD,以形成开孔。如图所示,使前述联结点50、开孔60制成较弱联结点之处张力失效。
当形成开孔60时,外层20和40的热粘合部分仍主要为与联结点50长度对应的孔径周长部分。因此,每个孔60不具有热粘合材料的完整周边,而仅有部分保留,如图7中的62所示。每个孔周的未联结点便于形成具有内部区域80的流体通道。一旦形成具有内部区域80的流体通道,就可以完成物质的暴露和递送。例如,可通过例如挤出的方法将液体物质30递送排出所述物质递送系统10。
在一个实施方案中,香水可作为系统中的物质30,系统包括流体防渗薄膜外层20和40。一旦由用户激活,则促进具有内部区域80的流体通道,从而可将香水释放或递送给用户。同样,如果所述物质30为干肥皂粉,例如上述流体通道便于在肥皂和水之间的接触。当与水接触时,肥皂可起皂沫,可用于例如清洁皮肤。
图8为图7所示剖面部分的示意图。如图所示,当所述系统10沿方向T延伸时形成孔60。当外层20和40包括无纺织网材料,出现如图7所示的矩形孔60时,则在孔60周围也可出现组成纤维的明显分离和延伸。不过,也可出现其它形状,这取决于所用的材料。
对于物质递送系统10,物质30可以是多种不同形式的物质。例如,根据特定选择的外层20和40(即外层是否为液体渗透性材料),物质30可以是液体,如水、水基清洁剂、酒精、抗菌液、油基洗液、香水、驱虫剂、颜料或指甲油清洁剂。同样地,物质30可包括更粘稠的物质,如霜剂、牙膏、石油、腊或粘合剂。此外,物质30可在如薄纸、热塑性薄膜、金属箔、闭合或开放单元泡沫等之上或作为其组成成分进行递送,或作为本发明方法可加工的其它材料进行递送。总之,所有基重相对较低的纸网、薄纸织网、无纺织网、薄膜(包括金属箔)及薄泡沫材料都可用本发明所述方法加工。
用附加材料层或折层可以对本发明做其它改变,以形成有多个空隙空间8或内部区域80的物质递送系统1。例如,如图13-15中的剖面视图所示,所述物质递送系统1包括多个不同的空隙空间8和/或内部区域80。因此,如图13和14所示,所述物质递送系统1便于暴露和递送两部分合成物,如染料和漂白剂(例如用于头发护理)或有A和B两部分的环氧树脂合成物。
如图13所示,本发明两个隔室的实施方案中包括上述外层2和4。但两外层间的层压材料为无孔的流体防渗层9,用于隔开所述空隙空间8A和8B。以这种方式,第一物质30可设置于空隙空间8A中,而第二种不同物质30可设置于空隙空间8B中。以这种方式,激活使联结点5破裂时,所述物质在物质递送系统的相应侧面暴露,因而可以使用。例如,第一物质可以是溶剂,所述第二物质可以是清洁玻璃窗户的清洁流体。
如图14所示,本发明两个隔室的实施方案可包括外层2A和4A,可具有也可不具有由所加张力导致破裂的联结点。(如图14所示,所述外层2A和4A没有联结点)。但是,所述两个外层之间的层压材料无孔,流体防渗层9用于分隔所述空隙空间8A和8B。层9至少有一个联结点5,使得沿方向T施加足够的张力时,如图所示,联结点破裂形成孔,并在空隙空间8A和8B之间形成流体通道。以这种方式,第一物质30可置于空隙空间8A中,第二种不同的物质30可置于空隙空间8B中,则激活使得联结点5破裂时,通过如按摩仍无孔的外层使所述第一种和第二物质混合。例如,所述第一物质可以是两部分环氧树脂的A部分,第二物质可以是其B部分。激活后充分混合时,所述物质递送系统1可用本领域已知的方法打开,以配送混合环氧树脂。
图15所示的实施方案中,物质递送系统1可包括由外层20和40限定的内部区域80,还有第三层9A,其限定空隙空间8。例如,外层20和40可为内部区域80之内热塑性薄膜包围的粘度较低流体30A。层9A可以是无纺薄膜,这样沿方向T展开时,内部区域释放物质,且至少部分流入所述空隙空间8。流体接触并使无纺层9A浸透,因此层9A可以用作软而柔顺的作用表面。可供选择地,外层20可以是无纺层,外层40可以是防渗透薄膜层,层20和40限定内部区域80封装的干吸收剂物质30A。外层9A可以为防渗薄膜,与外层40共同形成空隙空间8封装流体物质30B。通过沿方向T拉伸激活时,联结点50破裂,使内部区域80和空隙空间8之间形成流体通道。这样的制品可用作清洁布,与吸收剂物质30A共同包容清洁液,并吸收污染流体。
加工方法
参考图9,图中示出了用于成形联结点5的热点粘合辊装置108的示意图。织网102代表薄膜、无纺材料或包含具有一层或多层薄膜或一层或多层无纺材料的层压材料以及它们的混合物,用于图1所示实施方案。因此,尽管图中所示为单一织网,此种方法同样适于以层压材料处理的多层织网。如果织网102包括无纺织网,它可用已知的任何方法加工,而且基重为约10至约100gsm,也可以为约15至约30gsm。同样,如果织网102包括薄膜,如热塑性薄膜,可用已知材料和已知方法加工,基重可在约10至250gsm之间,更优选在约10至40gsm之间。织网102优选地由轧制材料递送,沿箭头所示方向加工,而且箭头穿过辊110和112并置形成的辊隙106。
参见附图9,热粘合辊装置108包括压制图案辊110和光滑砧片辊112,每个辊分别绕平行轴A1和A2旋转。压制图案辊110和光滑砧片辊112中其一或两者可以用已知的方法加热,且可调节任一个辊的温度和两辊之间的压力以提供所需的温度和压力,形成多个联结点5。在某些实施方案中,压制辊之间的压力和摩擦可以影响热粘合所需温度。不过,商用可行加工法优选采用至少一个加热辊。
相对于整个加工设备100而言,以下更完整地描述其它特定的压制图案辊110。但通常,这里一般提到的压制辊110配置为具有圆柱表面114,及多个从表面114向外延伸的隆起物或图案单元116,每个隆起物都有末端面117,末端面的纵横比与上述关于联结点5所公开的较大纵横比对应。虽然此处目的不是限制本发明的范围为该隆起仅具有该配置,目前据信联结点5的大纵横比仅在隆起物的末端面117具有同样纵横比时才能实现。
一旦所述织网102通过热粘合辊阵列108加工成联结点5,其适合进一步加工为上述物质递送系统1所用的外层2或4。可用本领域已知的任何方法加工成形这样的包装,包括小袋。例如,具有联结点5的无纺网或薄膜网材料可切成选定的大小和形状以形成层2和4,所述物质3可以置于层2和4之间,其后可密封层2和4的边缘,例如采用合适的粘合剂或热粘合密封。
本发明所述的物质递送系统1可以任意改进。例如,可能希望层2或4中仅一个可在用户激活延展时形成孔。就是说,层2或4中仅一个可具有联结点5,用户延伸时,联结点破裂展开形成孔6。在该实施方案中,优选地是另一层2或4具有足够的延展性,不应不当妨碍物质递送系统1的延伸。当然,在该实施方案中,没有联结点5的所述层,可选择为主要用于调节用户所需施加力的大小,以使充分延展形成孔6。此外,层2或4可配置为可限制用户能够合理施加的张力总量。例如,层2或4可表现为两级力延伸,如授予Chappell等人的美国专利5,518,801中所述,该专利全文引入本文以供参考。
参见附图10,在100处用图示意说明本发明物质递送系统10的制造方法。
第一织网120在供料辊104处松开缠绕,而且沿与此有关箭头所指的方向运动,供料辊104沿与此有关的箭头指示的方向旋转。同样地,第二织网140在供料辊105上松开缠绕。物质30可以是上述所公开的任何物质,置于织网140(或120)上,使得其可以任何合适的方法最终包含于织网120和140之间。例如,如果物质30为粉末状,就可以用重力给料或辅助重力给料的方法从合适的进料盒配置。如物质30为液体,可以用喷涂、擦拭、滚动或沉积的方法给织网140配置液体。例如如果物质30是粘稠体,就可应用挤出法。图10所示的非限制性实施例显示喷涂器132向织网140上喷涂液体物质30。当然,如果必须沉积大量的液体,可采用本领域已知的合适处理参数。例如,织网140的横边可引导向上使织网140形成浅槽,物质30可沉积其中。热点粘合设备108可用已知的方法粘结所述织网横边,以在内部区域80获取所述物质30。
外层织网材料120或140包括热熔融无纺材料,如热塑性无纺材料或聚合物薄膜,例如聚烯烃薄膜(如PP或PE)。如果整个外层不能均匀热熔融,至少足以使联结点50的熔化粘接必须热熔融。共轭纤维,如皮芯、并列、“海中之岛”和分节盘形等构型的双组分纤维可用作外层,便于外层的热粘接。任意外层包括成形薄膜,如具有微孔的三维成形薄膜,如以下普通转让美国专利中所述:于1986年12月16日授予Curro等人的专利4,629,643和于1986年9月2日授予Curro等人的专利4,609,518。
在一个实施方案中,两个织网120和140包括可能完全相同的无纺材料。所述无纺材料可利用已知的无纺挤出法形成,例如所知的熔吹法或所知的纺粘法,直接穿过辊隙106而不用先粘合和/或储存在供料辊上。但是,在一个优选实施方案中,所述无纺织网本身就是可从购买的供料辊上热点粘合(加固)织网得到。热点粘合典型形式为彼此间隔的联结点规则图案,在从无纺材料供应商处购买的无纺材料上即存在,在本发明的织网上与上述本发明方法形成的大纵横比联结点50具有区别。
外层120和140可以有弹性、高弹性或无弹性。所述无纺织网可以是任何热熔融的织网,包括纺粘织网、熔吹织网或粘合梳理织网。如果所述无纺织网为熔吹纤维,则可以包括熔吹微纤维。所述无纺织网可由纤维成形聚合物如聚烯烃构成。示例性的聚烯烃包括一种或多种的聚丙烯、聚乙烯、乙烯共聚物、丙烯共聚物以及丁烯共聚物。所述无纺织网的基重为约10至约100gsm,更优选为约15至约30gsm。
所述外层本身为多层材料,具有例如至少一层纺粘织网,其与至少一层熔吹织网、一层粘合梳理织网或其它适用材料联结。例如,所述无纺织网可以是多层织网,如SMS无纺材料,其具有基重为约3gsm至约8gsm的纺粘聚丙烯第一层,一基重为约3gsm至约8gsm的熔吹聚丙烯层,和一基重为约3gsm至约8gsm的纺粘聚丙烯第二层。所述无纺织网外层也可以是由两种或多种不同的材料组成的混合物或纤维和微粒组成的混合物。这样的混合物可由给气流中添加纤维和/或微粒形成,气流中携带熔吹纤维或纺粘纤维以便均匀卷入纤维或其它材料,例如木浆、人造纤维和纤维聚集前产生的微粒。
所述压制图案辊110配有圆柱表面114,及多个向外突出表面114的隆起物元素116。隆起物116置为预定图案,每个隆起物116配置成可以在熔化联结点偏移物质30,并将两外层在多个位置熔融粘合在一起。图12示意地说明了一种隆起物图案。如图所示,所述隆起物116宽度WP相对较窄,在约0.008cm(0.003英寸)至0.05cm(0.020英寸)之间,但在优选实施方案中为约0.03cm(0.010英寸)。隆起物长度LP,在约0.08cm(0.030英寸)至约0.5cm(0.200英寸),但在优选实施方案中为约0.3cm(0.100英寸)。在一个优选实施方案中,隆起纵横比(LP/WP)为10。所示图案为横排错列隆起的规则重复图案,每行图案由行间距RS隔开,间距在约0.03cm(0.010英寸)至约0.5cm(0.200英寸)之间。在一个实施方案中,横间距RS约0.15cm(0.060英寸)。一行内的隆起在可以由隆起物间距隔开,PS一般等于隆起长度LP。但间隔和图案可根据所需成品进行任一方式的变化,例如暴露和释放的覆盖面大小、释放的初始速率及美观性。
如图9所示,压制图案辊110具有重复图案排列的隆起物116,可扩展至表面114的整个周长。可供选择地,隆起物116可围绕其部分延伸,或围绕表面114周长的部分。同样地,隆起物116也可以是非重复图案或由隆起伪随机定向的重复图案。隆起物116优选地为截断锥形,可快速从表面114向外扩展,且具有矩形或类似椭圆的末端面117。尽管无意使本发明范围仅限于本配置的隆起物,目前据信如果隆起物的末端面117同样地具有窄宽度和大纵横比,联结点50的大纵横比才能实现,以上可参考附图11。所述辊110优选加工为使所有的端面117位于与辊110旋转轴同轴的虚拟正圆柱体内。
隆起物的高度应根据所需粘接材料的厚度选择。通常,压制过程中所说高度应比所需粘合的层压材料的最大厚度大,以使在联结点,而且仅在联结点发生粘合。然而,只要仍然保留联结点50,进入辊隙106的所述材料的厚度将比隆起的高度大。
砧片辊112,优选为光滑表面,正圆柱钢体。
经过辊隙106后,两外层织网120和140联结形成整体物质递送系统10。此时,加工过程中所述外层相互热粘合并无孔,如图5和6所示。物质30由辊隙106中的隆起物116充分移位。由所用的物质决定绕联结点50的周边粘合时是否完全使用所用物质。在一个优选实施方案中,所述物质递送系统10可按要求的大小和形状切割,再进行适当的边缘密封、以及包装或按照某一特定成品所要求的其它加工步骤进行处理。此外,单独加工的物质递送系统10可共同包装以批发给用户。例如,多组单独的物质递送系统10可以包装成一体,由用户单独分配。
物质递送系统10另一实施方案可通过改进过程101加工,如图11中示意图所示。过程101基本上与上述过程100相同,差别仅为物质30是作为织网130,或在织网上,或位于织网内。织网130由辊107材料提供并按一定方向送进辊隙106,按上述方法加工。例如,织网130可为预先浸湿的无纺织网,具有指定含水清洁剂物质30的水分含量。这样物质30位于织网130中,按上述方法启动物质递送系统10后通过孔60排出。
此外,在另一个实施方案中,织网130可为防渗薄膜,其中一面配有干肥皂粉物质30。本实施方案中,所述物质递送系统可认为是有“侧重的”,即其特性可以不同,由所考虑该面决定。如图11所示,例如将干肥皂粉置于与织网120相对的织网130一侧,用作物质30,则成品中所有或大多数肥皂物质30都递送在物质递送系统10与层20相连的一侧。这对于用户希望用肥皂物质30清洁,或用相对无肥皂物质30冲洗是有益的,全部递送于同一制品中。
虽然只用图示法描述了本发明的具体实施方案,很明显,在不背离本发明范围的情况下,本领域的技术人员可以对其进行各种改变和修改。例如,在不背离本发明范围的情况下,图16中的A-I表示不同联结点5、50的可能配置。这些只是代表性的和非限定性的,并且联结点图案的各种任意组合都是有用的。尤其要注意的是图16中的G-I,其中的联结点为非线性。在如本发明所述充分延展时,这样的联结点产生非常有益的物质递送系统的三维皱褶。因此有意识地在附加的权利要求书中指出在本发明范围内的所有这些变化和修改。

Claims (10)

1.用户可激活的物质递送系统,所述系统包括:
(a)第一织网和第二织网,所述第一和第二织网具有周边,并围绕它们各自周边联结并限定其中的空隙空间;
(b)设置于所述空隙空间中的物质;
(c)至少所述第一或第二织网之一具有至少一个联结点,所述联结点具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与所述第一方向垂直;和
(d)所述至少一个联结点限定纵横比为至少2的熔融弱化区域,以便在具有与所述横向轴平行的矢量分量的足够大的力的作用下,所述至少一个联结点破裂形成相应的孔以便于暴露所述物质。
2.用户可激活的物质递送系统,所述物质递送系统包括:
(a)第一织网、第二织网和第三织网,所述第一、第二和第三织网具有周边,并围绕它们各自的周边联结并限定其中的两个空隙空间;
(b)设置于每一所述空隙空间中的物质;
(c)所述第一、第二或第三织网中的至少一个具有至少一个联结点,所述联结点具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与所述第一方向垂直;和
(d)所述至少一个联结点限定纵横比为至少2的熔融弱化区域,以便在具有与所述第二方向平行的矢量分量的足够大的力的作用下,所述至少一个联结点破裂形成相应的孔以便于暴露所述物质。
3.用户可激活的物质递送系统,所述物质递送系统包括:
(a)第一织网;
(b)第二织网,所述第二织网与所述第一织网在多个离散联结点以面对面关系联结,至少所述每个联结点的第一部分具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与所述第一方向垂直;
(c)所述第一和第二织网限定内部区域和外部区域;和
(d)设置于所述第一和第二织网之间的流体或粉末状物质,在具有与所述第二方向平行的矢量分量的足够大的力的作用下,所述联结点破裂形成多个孔,所述物质可通过该些多个孔暴露于所述外部区域。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中每个所述第一和第二织网包括至少一个联结点。
5.如权利要求1、2或3所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中所述物质包括选自液体、相对粘稠的流体以及它们的组合物的流体。
6.如权利要求1、2或3所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中所述第一或第二织网包括无纺材料或聚合物膜。
7.如权利要求1、2或3所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中所述第一和第二织网完全相同。
8.如权利要求1、2或3所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中所述物质包括粉末状材料。
9.如权利要求8所述的用户可激活的物质递送系统,其中所述物质包括去污粉。
10.用户可激活的物质递送系统,所述系统包括:
(a)第一织网;
(b)第二织网,所述第二织网与所述第一织网在多个离散联结点以面对面关系联结,至少所述每个联结点的第一部分具有定向于第一方向的纵向轴和定向于第二方向的横向轴,第二方向与所述第一方向垂直;
(c)所述第一和第二织网限定内部区域和外部区域;和
(d)设置于所述第一和第二织网之间的粘合物质,在具有与所述第二方向平行的矢量分量的足够大的力的作用下,所述联结点破裂形成多个孔,所述物质可通过该些多个孔暴露于所述外部区域。
