Abstract

本发明涉及由层叠体、最优选在其密封面上具有复杂织物结构的层叠体制造的防液体(liquidproof)防护鞋袜(protective footwear)的生产,在此生产中,在两个连接的层叠体片之间形成耐久性密封防液体接缝之前,通过在接缝区域、即密封区域进行削刮去除一部分织物形成防液体接缝。
发明背景
使用涂敷的纺织复合材料或纺织品与液体防护阻挡薄膜(membrane)层的层叠体来制造防液体防护服和防护鞋袜在业内已众所周知。其最通常的应用是防水透气服装。通常的例子是W.L.Gore and Associates销售的注册商品名为GORE-TEX的层叠体(laminate),这种层叠体包括层压或粘合在一个或多个织物层上的防水透气膜。这些层叠体被制成服装和鞋袜,作为GORE-TEX服装等产品销售。涂敷的层纺织品也可用于纺织复合材料中用于相同的目的。仅仅出于叙述方便的目的,在下文中将涂层纺织品和防护阻挡膜或膜、层叠体统称为“层叠体”。
将这些层叠体的片材(piece)或嵌料(panel)接合起来形成服装和其它类似的纺织结构。对于鞋袜,通常将层压片材或嵌料连接起来形成短靴(bootie),然后将该短靴作为衬里结合入鞋袜壳之内,与鞋底结合起来。对于用来防液体和防护的服装和鞋袜,需要对层叠嵌料连接处的接缝进行密封。在连接这些层叠嵌料时,通常是首先用常规的缝纫技术将层叠体缝在一起。然后使用包含热塑性热熔胶粘剂的接缝密封带对这些缝纫接缝进行防液体密封,所述密封带密封了涂层或防护阻挡膜的表面,在缝纫孔以及各层在缝迹之间互相连接的区域上形成密封。可使用例如导出热空气流的喷嘴对接缝密封带进行加热使胶粘剂熔化。然后将密封带施用在接缝上,使它们通过一对压力辊进行挤压,将熔融的胶粘剂挤压在防护层表面上,以确保密封带良好地粘合在表面上。为了美观,通常将接缝密封带施用在服装的内侧,使其不可见。对于适用于覆盖足部的短靴,通常将接缝密封带应用于短靴的外部,所述短靴位于衬里材料和鞋袜制品的外壳之间,从而使其不可见。胶合和熔接之类的不太常用的密封技术也是本领域已知的。
在许多应用中,需要在防护膜或涂层的两面上使用织物层,这是为了增加防护层的耐久性或提高最终制得的服装和鞋袜的美观性和舒适性。对于鞋袜,当使用短靴作为衬里时,位于薄膜两个面上的纺织品能够提高耐久性。在另一种构造中,例如美国专利申请公开第2004/0139629A1号所述的构造中,由位于薄膜两个面上的纺织品和层叠体制造的短靴可作为鞋袜的外壳或鞋面以及衬里。这些层叠体被称为三层结构或三层层叠体。例如,出于舒适和美观的原因,经常为防液体的透气性层叠体提供针织衬里层(即朝向穿着者的那层),该衬里层经常是触感较为柔软的,在与穿着者接触时能够提高舒适度。在具体的实施方式中,这些三层结构包括鞋袜的鞋面,在此情况下纺织品需要足够的厚度,并且具有足够的耐久性,使得鞋袜在其使用寿命期间保持防水性和美观。
不幸的是,可用于常规防液体服装和鞋袜的衬里层非常有限,在使用具有复杂织物结构的层的时候,形成耐久性的防液体密封成为了问题。在本文中,术语“复杂织物结构”表示具有纤维或长丝,以及具有扭曲路径的结构(不论是单丝或复丝)的纺织品,胶粘剂或密封剂通过这种结构渗透至防护阻挡层并密封织物层中的长丝从而形成防液体接缝的能力有限。出于本发明的目的,认为纤维和长丝可互换使用,它们可包括例如短纤维。复杂织物结构可包括例如机织物、非织造织物、针织物和刷毛、起绒或其他拉毛制品(即任意合适的凸起表面)。这些复杂织物结构材料通常会比常规的衬里层更膨松或更厚,而且更理想,因为它们使穿着者更加舒适。
如上所述,使用三层的织物构造,在一些情况下甚至使用更多层的织物构造,增大了形成防液体接缝的难度。不仅密封需要达到防护阻挡层表面,而且还需要对织物本身的结构进行密封或包封,以防止液体沿纤维芯吸或渗流而溢出防液体接缝的边界以外。因此在现有技术中,这种三层织物(例如包括具有复杂织物结构的内衬层的织物)的接缝密封具有显著的问题。
第一个问题在于,尽管通过对接缝密封带加热和施压通常能够使熔融的胶粘剂通过衬里层而与下方的膜层良好接触(从而填充衬里材料中相邻纱线之间的空隙),但是接缝密封胶粘剂不能渗透入纱线自身的空隙。已经知道,纱线由多股单丝等构成,相邻的单丝之间具有空隙。液体可以沿这些空隙所提供的路径从接缝芯吸或渗流入服装内部。下文中将参照图1和图2更详细地描述这一情况。因此,通过相邻材料片材之间的间隙或通过数行缝合针孔进入接缝的液态水,会通过衬里材料自身纱线中的间隙横向芯吸而渗出接缝。因此,特别是在严酷的气候或恶劣条件下,接缝不是完全的防液体。
图1和图2说明了常规接缝密封步骤的问题。图1显示了使用接缝密封带形成常规接缝的一系列步骤。应当理解通常可使用常规的缝纫机形成接缝。
在步骤1)中,两个相邻的材料片1a,1b沿接缝2重叠。在第二步骤2)中,用一行缝迹3缝合接缝。在第三步骤3)中,折叠接缝,再施加一排缝迹4形成平面接缝。该接缝不是防液体的,因为液体可以通过重叠的材料片1a,1b之间的间隙进入。液体还可通过缝迹3、4形成的针孔进入。因此,通常在接缝上施用热熔接缝密封带,使其在接缝的任一横切面上密封该材料。步骤4)显示了这一操作,图中在接缝上施用了接缝密封带5。接缝密封带的通常使用步骤如下:对涂敷在接缝密封带一个面上的热熔性胶粘剂施加热空气流使胶粘剂熔融,然后使用压力辊将接缝密封带压向接缝,从而将热熔融胶粘剂压入织物的纱线中,因此将接缝密封带牢固地粘合在下面的织物上。
如上所述,该常规步骤的一个问题在于,尽管接缝密封胶粘剂能够填充相邻纱线之间的空隙,但是无法渗入纱线自身的单丝等之间的间隙。液体可以沿着这些间隙所提供的路径、以箭头A的方向芯吸通过接缝。这样,液体通过相邻材料片之间或通过缝合针孔进入接缝。然后沿箭头A的方向芯吸出来,特别是在严酷的气候条件或严重的液体包围情况下更容易发生这种情况。
图2进一步说明了该问题,图2是在接缝区域一面上接缝密封带5与材料1b相粘合的区域中,沿横过该区域的直线B-B’的截面图。材料1b包括层叠在其上的由单纱6构成的衬里材料,每根纱线由大量单丝等组成。可以看到在接缝密封带5的一个面上的热熔胶粘剂7已渗透入纱线6之间的空隙,但是尚未渗透入该纱线单丝等之间的间隙。图中还显示了可能的液体渗入路径A。
常规的接缝密封过程的第二个问题在于,目前可以被接缝密封的衬里层织物的选择极为有限。造成这种情况的一个原因是需要对复杂的织物衬里层施加大量的热和压力才能将胶粘剂置入衬里纱线之间的间隙中,并与下面的防护层牢固结合,形成可靠的密封不仅耗时,而且成本高。另外,如果在接缝密封辊之间施加过大的压力,衬里材料本身的图案会印在织物(即材料1a和1b)的正面上,造成不美观的外观。即使在这种高压之下,也不能确保形成可靠的接缝。
为克服这些问题,用于该层叠体的衬里层或密封面的纺织品都限于疏松的结构,例如较为简单的针织物,以使得密封胶粘剂能够易于渗透。单丝或低纤丝数(例如纤丝数等于或小于12-13)的针织物,具有较为疏松的结构,它们是用于防液体服装的最容易持久密封的结构,通常使用这些结构以避免密封更复杂的复丝纺织品的间隙所带来的难题。
为克服上述织物结构的密封限制,人们已进行了大量的革新来开发能够渗透和密封复杂织物结构的低粘度胶粘剂。在美国专利第6,387,994号中,Gore等人描述了使用固体溶剂降低胶粘剂的粘度,使胶粘剂能够渗透和密封刷毛针织物之类的更复杂结构的方法。在PCT公开第WO 01/26495A1号中,Dunham等人描述了使用硅氧烷之类的液体热固性胶粘剂来尝试密封更复杂的或更厚的结构。然而,所有的这些方法不仅其能够密封的织物结构的厚度和复杂性受到限制,而且在例如服装生产之类的生产方面的便捷性也有限。
在鞋袜工业中,削刮(skiving)是一种用来制造将要在接缝处连接的两块较厚较硬的皮革片材的边沿的技术。削刮减小了皮革的厚度以便将坚硬的部分容易连接,还避免产生又厚又硬的接缝,这种又厚又硬的接缝可能会与穿着者产生摩擦,使穿着者感到不舒适。这些接缝通常是不防水的。
削刮已被用来提高鞋帮区域或鞋面的边沿处的皮革的可成形性,用来减小要被制成闭合半径的皮革厚度,在将皮革鞋面与硬质的鞋内垫板连接的上鞋帮过程中会出现这种情况。在制造防水鞋的一些情况下,除了对皮革进行削刮以外还对防护衬里进行削刮,以减少沿鞋帮边缘(lasting margin)的起皱现象并使得衬里能够与防水鞋内垫板以防液体的形式连接。然而,这种构造只限于在鞋垫或鞋底上连接衬里和鞋面,并未用来在两个连接的层叠嵌料之间形成防水接缝。
迄今为止,可在市场上购得的防液体透气性三层层叠体和服装还限于具有有限的复杂性和有限的厚度的刷毛针织衬里层,以使对接缝进行足够的防液体密封;或者已经开始销售具有羊毛衬里层的服装和鞋袜,但是它们在接缝处是不防液体的,因为不可能在制品的内侧或外侧通过这些复杂织物结构来实现密封。
结合了用作化学防护甚至用来防护生化战争试剂的化学阻挡层的选择性渗透膜或不渗透膜的服装也具有和带有防液体接缝的防液体透气性服装和鞋袜一样的局限性。在这些应用中特别希望使用具有复杂织物结构的三层(或更多层)层压结构为阻挡层提供另外的防护,例如在使用中的防穿刺性或耐磨性。迄今为止,还不存在具有这些性质的防护服或鞋袜。
因此,在鞋袜工业中需要有一种可靠而有效的技术,用来连接两块或更多块复杂织物层压板,从而形成防护性鞋袜中的柔性防液体接缝。
  定义
“层叠体”是一种被涂敷或粘合在至少一层纺织品上的防护膜或涂层。
“防护层”,“阻挡层”,“功能层”或“膜”表示至少能够阻挡液态水渗透,理想的情况是能够阻挡一些液体化合物的膜或涂层。如果一种层在至少0.07巴的压力下,能够防止液态水渗透达至少3分钟,则认为这种层是防液体的。防护层材料优选保证能够耐受大于0.07巴的水渗透压。基于本文所述的防液体接缝的Suter测试所述的相同条件,在防液体嵌料上测量水渗透压。
“接缝”表示两片或更多片层叠体通过缝合、胶合或其他机械连接法永久性连接在一起的区域。
“防液体接缝”表示用试验液体施加至少0.07巴的压力时,至少能够坚持3分钟而不渗漏的接缝。所述试验液体至少是水,理想情况下可以是一些液体化学物质。
“耐久性防液体接缝”表示在依照本文中所述的用于耐久性防液体接缝的测试方法,经5次机器洗涤和干燥循环之后,用试验液体施加至少0.07巴的压力时,仍然能够坚持3分钟而不渗漏的接缝。所述试验液体至少是水,理想情况下可以是一些液体化学物质。
“削刮”表示通过切割、研磨、砂磨、磨蚀等方法从两块或更多块防护层叠嵌料之间最终将会形成密封接缝的部分层叠体上去除材料或纺织品。
“鞋袜”表示足部的包覆物,例如鞋、靴、短袜等,这些包覆物结合了一个或多个包括防护层的层叠嵌料,所述层叠嵌料通过至少一个耐久性防水接缝连接在一起。所述层叠嵌料可形成短靴而作为鞋袜内的衬里,或者连接的层叠嵌料可同时包括鞋袜的衬里和鞋面,与鞋袜的其他部分连接。
发明简述
本发明的一个目的是提供一种用于服装、鞋袜等制品的新的并改进的防液体接缝,以及一种用于可靠且耐久地密封该接缝的改进的方法,所述接缝处于两个或更多个至少在其密封面上具有复杂织物层的层叠嵌料之间,用来使所述嵌料形成防液体防护服装和类似的柔性织物结构。本发明的改进的接缝结构不像常规的具有复杂织物结构的服装和鞋袜那样具有耐久性和渗漏的局限性。因此,通过本发明可以制造现有技术不能制造的新型防护服和鞋袜。
本发明的制品是通过在用接缝将两个或更多个层叠嵌料连接之前,从层叠嵌料的密封区域削刮去至少一部分复杂织物材料而制得的。在本文中,术语“削刮”表示通过切割、研磨、砂磨、磨蚀等方法完成的织物材料的选择性去除。
可使用任何能够在层叠嵌料的一个或多个所需区域上选择性地去除复杂织物材料,从而在至少一部分密封区域减小复合织物层厚度的任何技术、设备或工具进行削刮。在一优选实施方式中,使用削刮机和材料进料设备来削刮复杂织物,所述削刮具有切削刀片,所述材料进料设备可以将复杂织物层定位到切削刀片附近以去除材料。特别适用于选择性去除织物材料的削刮设备的一个例子是购自FortunaGmbH的Fortuna ES-50削刮机,这是由于这种机器有良好的削刮深度调节范围。
在用来制造本发明服装或鞋袜制品的优选方法中,与常规的服装装配过程一样,将防护层叠体片切割成一定式样的片材。例如,确定出沿这些将要进行缝合的切割片材的边缘的密封区域,使这些边缘通过削刮机,从而以所需的宽度去除至少部分复杂织物材料。另外,可以从嵌料内侧去除织物材料选定的区域,形成用来在服装上添加口袋、喇叭口(tunnel)、兜帽等,或者用来在服装和鞋袜中添加补丁、刺绣徽标或其他这样特征部件的密封区域。复杂织物优选基本完全去除,但是不需要完全去除。仅需要去除足量的复杂织物,使得在随后的密封步骤中余下的结构易于全部密封,且可将任何剩余的单丝包封。砂磨、研磨、剪切等其他能够从选择的区域削刮织物材料的方法也包括在本发明范围内。
在两个或多个层叠嵌料之间形成缝合接缝时,通常对防护层叠嵌料之上或之内的密封区域的宽度进行选择,使其比缝合所需的接缝余量(seam allowance)宽,从而在将层叠嵌料缝合在一起之后,在接缝余量两侧形成开放区域。在用来形成耐久性防液体接缝的优选方法中,之后将接缝密封带施用于连接的层叠嵌料。对密封区域(即削刮宽度),接缝余量和密封带宽度进行选择,使得在施用密封带之前,在接缝余量各侧至少有一定宽度(例如优选等于或大于2毫米)的开放或削刮表面。在添加密封带时,整个密封区域被密封胶粘剂覆盖,最佳的是,密封带略微延伸超过密封区域,延伸到余下的未经削刮的复杂织物层的表面上。当胶粘剂抑制在织物层削刮边缘,而密封带同时结合在防护膜表面和层压织物(即未削刮的)表面时,这种结构不仅是最美观的,而且能够提高这些接缝的耐久性。在本发明特别优选的密封结构中,在接缝余量以外的密封区域的宽度约为4毫米,密封带延伸到织物上的量约为6毫米。
在削刮步骤中,优选在密封区域中尽可能多地去除织物,同时小心不要将层压片材上的防护层破坏到不能形成防液体接缝的程度。这一点可通过调节削刮设备来依照需要尽可能多地切割织物,同时避免对防护层的整体性造成不必要的破坏而完成。在最优选的实施方式中,防护层未被削刮破坏。
在本发明另一实施方式中,可以在将层叠嵌料缝合在一起之后进行削刮。具体来说,可以在两个防护层叠嵌料之间形成接缝,然后进行削刮步骤来减少密封区域中的织物材料。在实施该方法时必须加以小心以免破坏接缝(例如缝纫线,胶粘珠粒等),因为这可能给使最终的服装带来耐久性的问题。
制造在三层(或更多层)层叠体两侧都具有复杂织物结构层的防护服的能力是高度理想的构造,当服装或鞋袜具有耐久性防液体接缝时更是如此。例如,在本发明的一个方面,可制造一种完全的防液体服装,在该服装或鞋袜的外侧具有防护机织物,在该服装或鞋袜的内侧具有柔软的绝缘绒布,而且该服装具有通过在密封之前削刮去接缝区域中的绒布而形成的防液体接缝。
对于服装,通过复杂织物结构在液体阻挡层两面上对其进行防护,可以制造正反可穿的服装。在这些正反可穿的服装中,需要对服装的两面提供能够防刺、耐磨、防撕裂等的防护作用,因为在使用过程中,服装的两个面都会容易受到这些磨损破坏。这些正反可穿的服装为耐久性防液体防护服装提供了应用于迄今为止还不可用的机会。例如,军事应用需要使用两种不同的伪装图案,例如在一个面上使用沙漠色伪装图案,在另一面使用丛林伪装图案,或者,在一个面上为用于夜间行动的黑色,另一个面上是用于特种部队的伪装图案。耐久性防液体防护警服可以是例如一个面上具有橙色或其他鲜艳的或反射性颜色,在另一面上为蓝色(或其他标准警察制服颜色)。猎装可提供用于例如狩猎水禽和陆上狩猎的不同图案。如上所述,目前的在服装两面上都结合了复杂织物结构的正反可穿服装仅仅是防水的,尚无真正的防液体形式。
在本发明另一实施方式中,可以在无需通过削刮去除需要连接的层叠嵌料密封区域的织物进行缝合的情况下,在密封侧对具有复杂织物结构的两层层叠嵌料进行密封。然后可将两个防护膜直接互相胶粘形成密封,而不需渗透过织物自身形成密封。在接缝区域可包括小块未削刮的织物以提高机械强度,但是由于通过削刮暴露的膜表面上已经形成了防水密封,所以不一定要密封此未削刮的织物部分。通常可将该接缝余量折叠并胶粘以减少已经形成的防液体连接点的应力。

发明详述
本发明提供一种新的改进的用来对包括复杂织物结构的两个或更多个层叠嵌料之间的接缝进行可靠而耐久的密封,以形成柔性防液体防护服的方法。本发明的改进的接缝结构不会像由具有复杂织物结构的层叠体构成的常规接缝那样具有耐久性和泄漏的缺陷。因此,本发明提供了生产一种新型防护服的可能性,所述防护服是不可能通过现有技术生产的。
参见图3,图中显示三层织物层叠嵌料10的截面图,层叠嵌料10具有密封面18,用来将此层叠嵌料与另外的层叠嵌料(未显示)连接。层叠嵌料10包括位于密封面18上的复杂织物层12,阻挡层14和第二织物层16,其可包括或不包括复杂织物。图4显示图3的织物层叠嵌料,其中一部分复杂织物层12通过削刮去除,使密封区20裸露出来。然后,在本发明中,如图5的截面图所示,将两个或更多个织物层叠嵌料连接起来。具体来说,在所示的实施方式中,施用缝迹22和缝迹25将两个层叠嵌料10a和10b缝合在一起,其中缝迹22连接层叠嵌料,缝迹25握持(holding down)缝迹22之间的接缝余量以及层叠嵌料10a和10b的边缘或称之为″顶部缝纫″。。接缝密封带24覆盖并粘结连接的层叠嵌料边缘和密封区域20,并且延伸超过密封区域20而粘结于部分复杂织物层12上。通过该结构可形成耐久性防液体接缝,其中接缝带24被固定在密封区域20中的隔离层14上,同时还被固定在复杂织物(即未削刮的)层12上。
图6显示了另一种耐久性防液体的粘有密封带的接缝,其中未结合顶部缝纫接缝,而是结合了简单的单缝纫接缝。在对接缝粘合密封带的步骤中,超过缝迹22的接缝余量可位于任一个的层叠嵌料表面,提供足够宽度的密封区域20,使得接缝带粘合至密封区域中的阻挡层14上。
图7a和7b显示适合用来形成本发明的防液体密封的两层结构的另一实施方式。具体来说,图7a显示具有复杂织物层12和阻挡层14的双层层叠嵌料30,其中通过削刮去除一部分的复杂织物层12,露出密封区域20。图7b显示在本发明中连接在一起的两个层叠嵌料30a和30b的截面图。在此实施方式中,胶粘剂32将两个层叠嵌料的密封区域20连接起来,然后将密封区域折叠,第二胶粘剂34将折叠部分固定在连接的层叠嵌料结构的表面上。
图8显示本发明另一实施方式,其中将多层层叠嵌料(在此情况下为四层层叠体)连接起来。具体来说,将各包括复杂织物层12、阻挡层14、第二织物层16和另外的织物层42的四层层叠嵌料40a和40b,通过连接该层叠嵌料的缝迹22缝合在一起。接缝密封带24覆盖并粘结于连接的(缝合的)层叠嵌料边缘和密封区域20,密封带24还延伸并粘结于密封区域20以外的部分复杂织物层12上。通过该结构可形成耐久性防液体接缝,其中接缝带24与隔离层14在密封区域20结合,同时还与复杂织物(即未削刮的)层12结合。
图9是用作外套的前片的三层层叠嵌料50的透视图,该层叠嵌料的复杂织物面70上的边缘,或密封区域20,已经过削刮,预备用于密封。图10是图9中层叠嵌料50的透视图,该层叠嵌料50还具有通过削刮形成的基本为矩形的内部密封区域52,该内部密封区域52是用来通过防液体接缝为层叠嵌料50添加口袋的。
图11是层叠嵌料60的透视图,在此实施例中层叠嵌料60是基本为矩形的口袋的形式,该口袋具有与外套片50相同的三层结构,通过在复杂织物面72上削刮层叠嵌料60的外周而形成密封区域62。图12显示图10中外套片50带有图11的口袋嵌料60时的情况,如图所示,在将口袋以防液体的形式与外套连接的时候,图中图11的口袋片60位于内部密封区域52内,使得口袋密封区域62与外套内部密封区域52相邻。图13显示用接缝带66与外套片50连接的口袋片60,在所述片材之间形成防液体密封。图14a是图13中密封接缝沿直线G-G′的截面图,图中接缝带66将口袋片60的密封区域62与外套片50的密封区域52连接并将其密封。在此实施方式中,密封区域62在口袋片60之下延伸。图14b是图13中密封接缝沿直线G-G′的截面图的另一实施方式,其中密封区域62的端部基本与口袋片60的边缘齐平。另外,图14b显示任选的缝合线68。
图15是用于短靴的三层层叠嵌料80的透视图,其中该层叠嵌料80的复杂织物面上的边缘,即密封区域82,已经过削刮,作为连接和密封的准备。图16显示图15的两个层叠嵌料,这两个层叠嵌料如本文所述在密封区域连接,然后用接缝带85覆盖。然后将所得的短靴结合作为本发明防液体鞋袜制品的组分。
这些备选的方位和结构仅仅是示例性的,其它的备选方位和结构也在本发明所预期的范围之内。
所述层叠体的阻挡层可以是防护薄膜、防护膜或防护涂层。阻挡层可选自以下的材料:包括但不限于聚酯、聚酰胺、聚酮、聚砜、聚碳酸酯、含氟聚合物、聚丙烯酸酯、共聚醚酯、共聚醚酰胺、聚氨酯、聚氯乙烯、聚四氟乙烯或聚烯烃。对于防水透气应用,第一层优选由膨胀的聚四氟乙烯(ePTFE)制成。已知膨胀的聚四氟乙烯具有很高的防水性,而且高度透气。ePTFE可通过已知的方法以亲水聚合物涂料的形式提供。这些层叠体可优选提供大于1500克/平方米/天(特别是大于3000克/平方米/天)的水蒸气传输速率和至少在三分钟的期间内大于0.07巴的进水压力(water entry pressure)。对于化学防护应用,优选结合有不渗透层或选择性渗透层(例如购自W.L.Gore and Associates,Inc.(Elkton,MD)的GORE CHEM-PAK织物)的层叠体。
如上文所述,适用于本发明服装的一个或多个密封面的层叠体层包括具有复杂织物结构的织物。如上所述,具有复杂织物结构的纺织品具有纤维,或长丝,以及具有曲折路径的结构(不论是单丝或复丝),液体胶粘剂通过这些曲折路径渗透至防护阻挡层并包封织物层中单丝以形成防液体接缝的能力有限。复杂织物结构可包括例如机织物、非织造织物、针织物及其刷毛、起绒或其他拉绒制品(即任意合适的凸起表面)。
根据最终服装或鞋袜的需要,其它的织物层,无论是复杂织物或其他织物,也适用于本发明预期的层叠体之上或之中。
用于本发明新颖防液体接缝技术的材料的层压可通过任何合适的常规层压技术进行。例如,在一种技术中,可对一个或多个将要通过照相凹版辊连接的层施用胶粘剂点图,然后使这些材料通过压力辊并固化而进行层压。
为了制造防护服或鞋袜,采用一定的式样将一些防护层叠体片切割成嵌料,这些嵌料在接缝处连接起来形成具有一定形状的三维制品,例如外套的袖子、裤子的裤腿、鞋面等。可任选地包括另外的特征,例如兜帽和口袋,以提高服装的美观性和功能性。如果服装将要是真正的防护服,很重要的是能够以一定的形式将层叠体的这些切割嵌料连接起来,使得两个或更多层叠体片集合的接缝或接合点能够防液体。
由作为化学阻挡层的选择性渗透膜或不渗透膜制造的、用于化学防护甚至防生化武器试剂的服装和鞋袜也从施用更多复杂织物和形成防液体接缝的能力中获益。在这些应用中特别需要使用三层层叠体结构以防止阻挡层在使用中发生刺穿或磨损。
本领域技术人员将很明显地看出,任何适用来形成本发明防液体接缝的层叠体,以及其他合适材料,削刮技术和密封步骤也预期包括在本发明范围内。下面仅参照以下实施例,以举例的形式描述本发明的实施方式。
测试
防液体接缝的Suter测试
为测定防护阻挡织物或由该防护阻挡织物制造的服装的接缝是否是防水的,使用基于ISO 811-1981所述的Suter测试步骤。该步骤通过将水压向受测样品的一面,对该样品施加低的压力,观察样品的另外一面是否有水透过。
将密封的接缝测试样品夹紧并密封在固定着该样品的夹具中的橡胶衬垫之间,对该样品上直径3英寸(7.62厘米)的区域施加水。将水以1psig(0.07巴)的空气压力下施加在样品的一个面上。在测试织物层叠体时,可对样品的正面或外侧施加水。在测试密封的接缝时,对样品的正面施加水,观察其反面,即接缝底层是否发生漏水。
对样品的反面进行3分钟的肉眼观察,观察其是否在接缝边缘处出现水的迹象(芯吸或出现液滴)。如果未观察到水,则该样品通过测试,认为该样品是防液体的。
耐久性防液体接缝的测试
为测定防液体接缝的耐久性,依照ISO 6330:1984步骤第3B号所示的条件对接缝样品进行洗涤和干燥。具体来说,将样品以4磅(约2千克)的洗涤量放入顶部加入洗衣机中,洗衣机设定在中等水位(18加仑,或相当50.0681立方米),热水温(140,或相当于60℃),温水漂洗(warm rinse cycle)和重载洗涤下洗涤10分钟,洗涤时加入90克TIDE粉末状洗涤剂。然后将加入的样品在设定为“热”的旋转干燥机内干燥35-45分钟。该洗涤/干燥步骤重复5次。
然后对该接缝样品进行上述防液体接缝的Suter测试。如果在测试时未观察到水,则该样品通过该测试,该样品认为是耐久性防液体的。
防液体鞋袜测试
进行鞋袜防液体性的测试以测定鞋袜是否能够抵抗液体的进入和流出。
为测定防水性,将鞋袜置于一片吸墨纸上。在鞋袜内部填入室温水至30毫米高(从鞋袜根部的内底测量)。使水在鞋袜内保持2小时。在2小时的最后,对吸墨纸和鞋帮进行检查,测定水是否达到吸墨纸或鞋帮外层。如果没有水达到吸墨纸或鞋帮的外层,则确定该鞋袜是防液体的。
                            实施例
实施例1:
以以下方法在两个层叠嵌料之间形成防液体接缝。
形成了包括夹在两个织物层之间的复合阻挡薄膜的三层织物层叠体。该复合阻挡薄膜是涂敷有聚氨酯的微孔聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)膜的复合体,该复合体是依照美国专利第4,194,041号所述,使用涂敷在ePTFE上的非多孔性透湿聚氨酯制备的。使用大量可湿固化的聚氨酯胶粘剂的点将此薄膜的一个面与尼龙/Spandex机织物层层压,该机织物层的厚度约为0.4毫米,重量约为150克/平方米。使用大量可湿固化的聚氨酯胶粘剂的点将此薄膜的另一个面与聚酯毛绒织物层压,该毛绒织物的厚度约为0.6毫米,重量约为170克/平方米。然后从该三层织物层叠体上切割下两块尺寸约为0.15米×0.6米的层叠嵌料。
通过沿各层叠嵌料的边缘削刮去除约0.6毫米厚的起绒材料而形成约19毫米宽的密封区域。削刮通过使用装有Fortuna石质进料辊和弧形窄导轨片的Fortuna ES-50削刮机(Fortuna Gmbh,Weil der Stadt,德国)进行。
然后使用Juki缝纫机(型号DLN-415-5,Juki公司,日本东京)在5.1针/厘米的设定条件下沿距离层叠嵌料边缘13毫米的缝合线在这些层叠嵌料各自的密封区域将它们连接,然后修剪掉11毫米的接缝余量,以确保所得2毫米的接缝余量的边缘至少距离任意非密封区域中的织物边缘4毫米。
然后将包括热熔性聚氨酯胶粘剂的22毫米宽的接缝带(GORE SEAM接缝带,购自W.L.Gore and Associates,Elkton,MD)加热至足够的温度使聚氨酯胶粘剂熔融,然后将该接缝带施用于密封区域,然后使接缝带和接缝通过一对压力辊的辊隙,将熔融的胶粘剂挤压到防护层表面上,以确保接缝带与表面的良好结合。接缝带的宽度使其在各个层叠嵌料上能够覆盖整个密封区域,并且延伸超过密封区域约5毫米。使用防液体接缝的Suter测试对两个层叠嵌料之间所得的接缝进行测试,由于通过了0.07巴/3分钟试验而确定为防液体性的。然后对接缝进行耐久性防液体接缝测试,在洗涤/干燥步骤之后,该样品又一次通过了0.07/3分钟的试验。然后又对样品进行进一步的评价,在Suter测试设备中、3psi(0.22bar)/2分钟的条件下对样品进行更严格的接缝测试,未观察到水;因此,该样品在更严格的条件下仍然具有耐久的防液体性。
实施例2:
基本依照实施例1所述的方法在两个层叠嵌料之间形成了防液体接缝,但是该方法具有以下不同。
形成了包括夹在两个织物层之间的复合阻挡薄膜的三层织物层叠体。使用大量可湿固化的聚氨酯胶粘剂的点将此薄膜的一个面与聚酯针织物层层压,该织物层的厚度约为0.3毫米,重量约为85克/平方米。使用大量可湿固化的聚氨酯胶粘剂的点将此薄膜的另一个面与聚酯毛绒织物层压,该毛绒织物的厚度约为6毫米,重量约为200克/平方米。
通过削刮去除大约6毫米厚的起绒材料从而沿各层叠嵌料的边缘形成大约19毫米宽的密封区域。
然后对包括热熔性聚氨酯胶粘剂的25毫米宽的接缝带(GORE SEAM接缝带,购自W.L.Gore and Associates,Elkton,MD)加热,将该接缝带施用于密封区域,接缝带的宽度使其在各个层叠嵌料上能够覆盖整个密封区域,并且延伸超过密封区域约6毫米。使用防液体接缝的Suter测试对两个层叠嵌料之间所得的接缝进行测试,由于通过了0.07巴/3分钟试验而确定为防液体性的。
实施例3:
基本依照实施例1所述的方法在两个层叠嵌料之间形成了防液体接缝,但是该方法具有以下不同。
该层叠体与实施例1所述的相同。然而,不是对三层层叠体的毛绒面进行削刮,而是通过去除大约0.4毫米厚的尼龙/Spandex机织物材料从而沿各层叠嵌料边缘形成约19毫米宽的密封区域。
使用防液体接缝的Suter测试对两个层叠嵌料之间所得的接缝进行测试,由于通过了0.07巴/3分钟试验而确定为防液体性的。
实施例4:
通过以下方法形成了缝合在第二层叠嵌料中心的层叠嵌料附件,该附件不会影响第二层叠嵌料的防液体性质。使用两个与实施例1所述层叠嵌料组成相同的层叠嵌料,第一层叠嵌料尺寸约为0.3米×0.3米,第二层叠嵌料的尺寸约为0.1米×0.1米。
通过削刮去除约0.6毫米厚的毛绒材料而沿层叠嵌料附件的周围形成约8毫米宽的密封区域。削刮通过使用装有Fortuna石质进料辊和弧形窄导轨片的FortunaES-50削刮机(Fortuna Gmbh,Weil der Stadt,德国)进行。通过削刮去除约0.6毫米厚的毛绒材料,在位于主层叠嵌料的正方形内形成宽度约为25毫米的第二密封区域。该正方形密封区域是使用具有石质进料辊的相同Fortuna削刮机制成的,然而,在此情况下,去除了弧形窄导轨片,需要削刮的区域平坦地经过所述切削刀片上的工作台。
然后使用市售的Juki缝纫机在5.1针/厘米的条件下在层叠嵌料各自的密封区域进行缝合,将这些层叠嵌料连接起来,确保所得的接缝距离非密封区域中毛绒材料的边缘至少有4毫米。
然后对包括热熔性聚氨酯胶粘剂的25毫米宽的接缝带(GORE SEAMs接缝带,购自W.L.Gore and Associates,Elkton,MD)加热,将该接缝带施用于密封区域,然后使接缝带和接缝通过一对压力辊的辊隙,将熔融的胶粘剂挤压到防护层表面上,以确保接缝带与表面的良好结合。接缝带的宽度使其在各个层叠嵌料上能够覆盖整个密封区域,并且延伸超过密封区域约6毫米。使用防液体接缝的Suter测试对所得的具有附件的层叠嵌料进行测试,由于通过了0.07巴/3分钟试验而确定为防液体性的。

Claims (15)

1.一种接合的鞋袜制品,该制品包括:
(1)至少两个层叠嵌料,每个所述层叠嵌料包括
(a)至少一层具有一定厚度的织物材料;
(b)至少一层固定在所述织物材料上的防液体阻挡层;
(c)位于各层叠嵌料的至少一部分之上的密封区域,其中除去了织物材料的一部分厚度,使得至少一部分密封区域的厚度小于该层叠嵌料余下部分的厚度,
(2)至少一个将所述至少两个层叠嵌料的密封区域连接起来的防液体接缝,
其中所述连接的层叠嵌料位于鞋袜制品之内。
2.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一个接缝包括(a)位于所述层叠嵌料的密封区域中的缝合线迹;(b)覆盖所述缝合线迹并粘合到层叠层叠嵌料上覆盖密封区域合的接缝带。
3.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一个接缝包括焊缝。
4.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一个接缝包括胶合的接缝。
5.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一层织物材料的结构选自机织物、非织造织物和针织物。
6.如权利要求5所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一层织物还包括至少一种刷毛、起绒或拉毛的材料。
7.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述防液体阻挡层选自以下材料:聚酯、聚酰胺、聚酮、聚砜、聚碳酸酯、含氟聚合物、聚丙烯酸酯、共聚醚酯、共聚醚酰胺、聚氨酯、聚氯乙烯、聚四氟乙烯和聚烯烃。
8.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述防液体阻挡层包含膨胀的聚四氟乙烯。
9.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,为短靴的形式。
10.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,为鞋帮形式。
11.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,结合在鞋内。
12.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,结合在靴内。
13.如权利要求1所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述至少一个防液体接缝是耐久性防液体的。
14.如权利要求2所述的接合的鞋袜制品,其特征在于,所述接缝带在所述至少两个层叠嵌料密封区域以外的部分上延伸,并粘合在其上。
15.一种形成结合了层叠嵌料的防液体鞋袜的方法,该方法包括:
(1)提供至少两个层叠嵌料,每个所述层叠嵌料包括(a)至少一层具有一定厚度的纺织材料,(b)至少一个固定在所述纺织材料上的防液体阻挡层;
(2)削刮至少一部分纺织材料以除去至少一部分的厚度,从而在所述至少两个层叠嵌料上各自都形成密封区域,所述密封区域具有一定的厚度,至少一部分的厚度小于该层叠体剩余部分的厚度;
(3)通过在所述至少两个层叠嵌料的密封区域之间形成至少一个防液体接缝,将这至少两个层叠嵌料的密封区域连接起来;
(4)将所述连接的层叠嵌料结合成鞋袜制品。
