图1是根据本发明的一个实施方案,用于自动注射器1的针筒和针组件(通常示为10)的展开纵向截面图。自动注射器1的一个例子示于图7-9中。该针筒和针组件10通常为普通转让(commonly-assigned)的共同未决美国专利申请10/690,987中所示和所述的类型,虽然本发明的原理、方法、和结构更广泛地适用于其它类型的针筒和针组件。
一般地,上述针筒和针组件10可以装载在外层外壳2中,该外层外壳2包括具有贮存的能源4,如压缩的弹簧的驱动组件3,如图9所示。许多类型的自动注射器外壳是本领域公知的,任何这些类型都可以与本发明的针筒和针组件10一起使用。同样地,不应认为本发明仅限于与图7-9中所示的自动注射器一起使用。此外,预期所述针组件14可以用于传递药物的注射器中。
将针筒12的类型设计成使液体药物组分与干药物组分保持分开,直到该自动注射器被驱动时两组分混合。但是,本发明实施方案的针和毂组件14可以与诸如针筒12等的湿/干针筒、湿/湿针筒、或设计成容纳单组分液体药物的针筒一起使用。
上述针筒12通常由玻璃或不与药物或其组分反应的其它刚性材料形成。该针筒12通常为圆柱形,具有光滑的圆柱形内表面。该针筒12被分成湿药物室16和干药物室18。包含在干药物室18中的药物可以是粉末状的、冻干的或本领域已知的任何其它固体剂型。在该针筒12的一端,活塞20将该液体药物室16密封,且在驱动组件被驱动时被接合并向前推动,进入液体药物室16。密封结构22与针筒12的壁密封接合,从而将液体药物室16与干药物室18分开。
所述密封结构22是普通转让的美国专利申请10/690,987中所公开和所要求的类型,该发明的内容被特别纳入本文作为参考。虽然可以使用任何类型的密封结构,但如果使用湿/湿针筒,该密封结构22可以是可破裂的膜形式或其它更常见的密封结构类型。该密封结构22包括外部密封部件24、固定在该外部密封部件24内的可移动活塞26、流动通道28和旁路区域30。当自动注射器被驱动时,前进的活塞20在液体药物室16内产生压力,这使可移动的密封活塞26在密封结构22内向前移动。一旦该密封活塞26在该密封结构22内向前移动,则液体药物室16内的液体就能进入旁路区域30,并与干药物室18内的药物组分混合。
填充自动注射器针筒如针筒12的方法在美国专利申请10/690,987中有描述,在此不再详述重复。简要地,常规填充方法的一个困难是:在双室针筒如针筒12中,如果将两种药物组分通过同一开口填充,则容易发生交叉污染。也就是说,粉末组分会不利地与液体组分混合或反之亦然,尤其是在开口周围。因此,尤其对于双室针筒,如果通过针筒12的分开的开口填充两种组分,则是有利的。如上所述,如果开口相对宽阔,则也是有利的。除了能方便快速地填充湿药物组分和粉末药物组分两者外,宽阔的开口还允许将在分离的容器中冻干的干药片直接放入干药物室18中。在针筒12中,所述干药物室18具有相对宽阔的开口32,它位于针筒12的前端,与针和毂组件14相邻。
在本发明的一个填充方法中,一旦将干组分填充到干药物室18内,就将插入物34插入到开口32中。该插入物34具有锥形的流动通道36,它的作用是当自动注射器被驱动时将混合的药物组分漏向针和毂组件14(也就是向前和向里)。该锥形的插入物34还包括凸缘部分38,该凸缘部分38在开口32与所述针和毂组件14之间形成密封。在其它的填充方法中,可以将所述针和毂组件直接密封在开口32上,而不需要在所述针筒12内使用插入物或其它引导结构。开口32的直径在0.280″至0.500″的范围内。
通常地,通过将针钉在铝毂中形成这类针筒的针和毂组件。一般地,可以将20至24规格的不锈钢针钉到0.010″至0.015″厚的挤压成型的铝壳中,该挤压成型的铝壳张开而覆盖该针筒的开口,外径为0.25″至0.30″。在张开开口如开口32一样宽阔(例如0.472″)的情况下,制备能牢固地保持针并将其连接到针筒12上的常规挤压成型铝毂是困难的。为了解决这个问题,本发明的针和毂组件14包括常规挤压成型部分和注射成型部分,优选通过多步骤注射成型方法制备组件14,这将在下文解释。
具体地,所述毂和针组件14包括:可以是由金属形成的刚性帽或护罩40、第一模制毂部分42、第二模制毂部分44、针46和针鞘48。如果护罩40是由金属形成的,则它典型地是挤压的,虽然它也可以用铸造或其它方法来形成。虽然在下面的一些段落中为了便于描述分别描述了第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44,但优选在制造过程中将它们熔合在一起并作为单独的部分发挥作用,这在下文将会作解释。此外,虽然护罩40描述成是由金属形成的,但也可以用具有足够刚性的塑料材料来形成。
在图4以及图2和3中可以更清楚地看到针和毂组件14的部件,图4是分离的针和毂组件14的部件的纵向截面图,图2和3分别是针和毂组件14的透视图和部分截面透视图。
如图3和4所示,所述护罩40通常是圆柱形部件,具有足够的直径以安装在针筒12的外部,从而封闭干室18的开口32。该护罩40具有一个或多个半球形的内部突起45,该突起45设计成压合到表面47上,如图1所示。为了将针和毂组件14固定到针筒12上,将该护罩40的较低部分(lowerportion)49滚压或压合到该针筒12的凹槽13中。该护罩40的针支撑末端或部分50与护罩40与针筒12接合的末端或部分相对,包括除了中心孔52以外密封的壁。如在图4中所见,该护罩40的针支撑末端50基本上被“夹”在第一模制毂42和第二模制毂44之间。该护罩40的针支撑末端50定位于第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44之间能相互加固,并增加整体结构的刚性。
沿护罩40的针支撑末端50的内部定位第一模制毂部分42,从而使第一模制毂部分42的凸缘部分54与该护罩40的针支撑末端50相邻,并使第一模制毂部分的前部56延伸通过护罩40的针支撑末端50中的孔52。将针46安装在第一模制毂部分42的中心通道58内,正好越过护罩40中的孔52。该针46延伸到通道58内形成的按孔(stop)58a,如图4所示,从而在制造过程中能将该针可靠地插到相同的深度。按孔58a限制了针46在第一模制毂部分42内的插入深度。该针46仅有很短的长度保持在第一模制毂部分42内。
从图3和4中可见,所示实施方案的第一模制毂部分42限定形成基本上为半球形的腔60。支撑所述针46的通道58向该腔60开放。过滤器62覆盖该腔60的宽阔开口。该腔60和过滤器62提供来将来自针筒12的流体引导向针46,并在过滤器62的“后面”提供更充分形成的流体。这些部件的具体特征和优点描述于共同未决的美国专利申请10/690,987中,本申请是该专利申请的部分继续申请。
应该理解,所述腔60和过滤器62是任选的部件,不需要包括在本发明的实施方案中。此外,本领域普通技术人员会容易地理解,第一模制毂部分42可以包括任何外形或结构特征,只要其设计用于的自动注射器的内部设置需要。通常,第一模制毂部分42在护罩40内的结构特征对本发明并不关键,只要第一模制毂部分42包括足够将其保持在护罩40内的某位置上并使护罩40加固的结构。
将第二模制毂部分44定位在护罩40的针支撑末端50的外部。它与针支撑末端50的外表面相邻,并产生使片42和44永久结合的熔化区域64。在毂部分44的形成过程中,将第一模制毂部分42再熔化,而使所述部分42和44结合在一起。从图2和3中可以最清楚地看到,该第二模制毂部分44包括许多径向延伸的肋66,它们与针支撑末端50的外表面相邻并在该外表面上向外延伸。该肋66具有稳定并加固护罩40的针支撑末端50的作用,并防止该针支撑末端50因为在自动注射过程中遇到压力而弯曲、扭曲或以其它形式变形。与该肋66连接的是向前延伸的锥形部分68,它支撑针46的长度的更多部分。由于第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44,因而护罩40的针支撑末端50被加固且针46本身得到良好支撑。
使用几个步骤的注射成型方法最利于制造本发明的针组件14。可以用ABS、聚乙烯、聚丙烯或其它公知的医用级聚合物制造第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44。下面将参考图5A-5D和图6解释针组件14的注射成型方法,图5A-5D是在各个制造阶段的针组件14的透视图,图6是所述方法所使用的步骤的高度示意性流程图。用于这些方法的合适的注射成型设备在本领域中是公知的。可用于本发明方法的合适注射成型设备的一个例子是Arburg Model 270All Rounder。
上述针和毂组件14的制造方法100开始于S102。在实际的制模方法开始之前,使用者要准备设备并为所述部件提供合适的模具部分。该方法继续S104。在S104,使用者将加热的液体塑料材料注射到具有腔的模具部分中,该腔限定形成第一模制毂部分42的形状。液体塑料在模具腔中冷却,从而形成第一模制毂部分42,如图5A所示。然后将该毂部分42从模具中取出。该方法100继续S106。在S106,将针46放置在第一模制毂部分42中的通道58中,如图5B所示,直到该针46接触到按孔58a。一旦将该针46放置到了通道58中,该方法100继续S108,在S108中,将挤压成型的金属护罩40放置在第一模制毂部分44的外部。一旦该护罩40和针46被放置好,就将如图5C所示的组件从第一模具中移出并放入到第二模具中。该第二模具中的腔限定形成第二模制毂部分的形状。一旦该组件放置好,该方法100继续S110,在S110中,将第二模制毂部分44过压成型(overmolded)到该组件上,形成透视图5D中所示的完成的针和毂组件14。如上所述,在模制该毂部分44的过程中,将该毂部分42的一部分表面积再熔化以形成熔化的区域64,从而将部分42和44融合到一起形成单一片。该方法100在S112处结束,可以按需要重复它多次。
当在方法100的S100中将第二模制毂部分44过压成型时,该第二模制毂部分44与第一模制毂部分42随着熔化区域46的冷却而沿着该区域融合,从而形成完整的熔合部分。为此,用相同的材料模制第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44从而使它们能有效地融合到一起一般是有利的。但是,任何两种热相容的材料都可以用于第一模制毂部分42和第二模制毂部分44。
与制造所述针和毂组件的其它常规方法相比,上述方法100还提供了某些其它优点。例如,虽然图中所示的部件可被分别制模、组合和结合、焊接、或安装到一起,但是与使用任何其它常规方法相比,该方法100产生小得多的误差。
虽然参考某些实施方案描述了本发明,但这些实施方案仅用于示例,不应理解为限制。在所附权利要求书的范围内,可以对本文所述的发明进行改进和改变。

Claims (27)

1.用于注射装置的针和毂组件,该针和毂组件包括:
帽和针支撑部分,该帽具有适于与针筒的外表面接合的接合部分,该针支撑部分具有其中包括开口的壁,该壁限定形成内表面和外表面;
第一毂部分,其限定形成通过所述壁的开口的针接受通道,并具有沿壁的内表面延伸的部分;
针,其安装在所述针接受通道内,并从中向外延伸;和
第二毂部分,其与第一毂部分接合,并接受至少一部分所述针,该第二毂部分具有加固结构,该加固结构沿壁的外表面向外延伸,
其中所述帽的针支撑部分的壁在内表面上通过所述第一毂部分加固,在外表面上通过所述第二毂部分加固。
2.如权利要求1所述的针和毂组件,其中所述第一和第二毂部分是熔合的。
3.如权利要求2所述的针和毂组件,其中所述第一和第二毂部分由塑料组成。
4.如权利要求3所述的针和毂组件,其中所述第一和第二毂部分由相同的塑料组成。
5.如权利要求2所述的针和毂组件,其中所述帽由金属组成。
6.如权利要求5所述的针和毂组件,其中所述帽由铝组成。
7.如权利要求2所述的针和毂组件,其中所述加固结构是径向延伸的肋。
8.如权利要求1所述的针和毂组件,其中所述第二毂部分还包括沿所述针延伸的支撑部分。
9.如权利要求1所述的针和毂组件,其中所述针接受通道提供从所述帽的里面到该帽的外面的连续流体通道。
10.自动注射器,该自动注射器包括:
外壳;
位于所述外壳内的针筒,该针筒具有至少一个开口并装载药物,该药物在后面用活塞限制;
驱动组件,其包括能够被释放以推动所述活塞通过所述针筒的贮存的能源;
帽,其具有接合部分和针支撑部分,该接合部分适于接合所述针筒的外表面而覆盖该针筒的开口,该针支撑部分具有其中包括开口的壁,该壁限定形成内表面和外表面;
第一毂部分,其限定形成通过所述壁的开口的针接受通道,且具有沿该壁的内表面延伸的部分;
针,其安装在所述针接受通道内,并从中向外延伸,该针适于在所述活塞被推动通过所述针筒时排出药物;和
第二毂部分,其与所述第一毂部分接合,并接受至少一部分针,该第二毂部分具有沿壁的外表面向外延伸的加固结构,
其中所述帽的针支撑部分的壁在内表面上通过第一毂部分加固,在外表面上通过第二毂部分加固。
11.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述第一和第二毂部分是熔合的。
12.如权利要求11所述的自动注射器,其中所述第一和第二毂部分由塑料组成。
13.如权利要求12所述的自动注射器,其中所述第一和第二毂部分由相同的塑料组成。
14.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述帽由金属组成。
15.如权利要求14所述的自动注射器,其中所述帽由铝组成。
16.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述加固结构是径向延伸的肋。
17.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述第二毂部分还包括沿所述针延伸的支撑部分。
18.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述针接受通道提供从所述帽的里面到该帽的外面的连续流体通道。
19.如权利要求10所述的自动注射器,其中所述针筒具有两个药物室。
20.如权利要求19所述的自动注射器,其中的一个药物室适于容纳湿药物组分,另一个药物室适于容纳干药物组分。
21.如权利要求20所述的自动注射器,其中所述针筒的至少一个开口位于干药物室内。
22.形成针和毂组件的方法,该方法包括:
形成第一毂部分;
提供其中具有开口的帽;
设置第一毂部分从而使该第一毂部分具有延伸通过所述帽的开口的部分;
在由第一毂部分限定形成的通道内设置针;和
在所述帽的外表面上形成第二毂部分,从而使该第二毂部分与所述第一毂部分接合并在该帽的至少一部分外表面上延伸。
23.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中形成第一毂部分包括将第一毂部分注射成型。
24.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中形成第二毂部分包括将第二毂部分注射成型。
25.如权利要求22所述的方法,该方法还包括在将所述针插入所述通道之后和形成所述第二毂部分之前,将所述组件移到第二模具,该第二模具具有限定形成该第二毂部分的腔。
26.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中在形成所述第二毂部分的过程中将所述第一毂部分的一部分熔化,从而使熔化区域将该第一毂部分固定到该第二毂部分。
27.组装自动注射器的方法,该方法包括:
用干药物室内的开口将干药物组分填充到干药物室内;
通过将权利要求22所述的针和毂组件置于所述干药物室的开口上来密封该开口。
