Derartige Gewinde sind mit handelsüblichen Werkzeugen herstellbar. Wird aber die Knochenschraube mit ihrem eingängigen Außengewinde in das zweigängige Innengewinde der Knochenplatte eingeschraubt, dann verkeilen sich die beiden Gewinde derart, dass ein winkelstabiles System geschaffen wird, welches hohe Kräfte übertragen kann. Die Winkelstabilität wird bereits nach etwa einer Umdrehung der Schraube erreicht, wozu das zweigängige Innengewinde der Knochenplatte einen wesentlichen Beitrag leistet. Dieses Innengewinde weist nämlich den Vorteil auf, dass mehr als eine Stelle existiert, an welcher das Gewinde zu greifen beginnt. Das zweigängige Innengewinde der Knochenplatte besitzt zudem den Vorteil, dass kleine Gewindeprofile geschaffen werden können, welche von dünnen Knochenplatten verlangt werden.
