The present invention relates to an electronic device containing one or more compounds of a formula (I) or (II). Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of a compound of formula (I) or (II) in an electronic device, preferably in an organic electroluminescent device, particularly preferably as matrix material in an emitting layer. Yet again, the invention relates to certain compounds of the formula (I) or (II) which are suitable for use in the device according to the invention.
The development of functional compounds for use in electronic devices is currently the subject of intense research. The aim here is, inter alia, the development of compounds which allow an improved property profile of the devices. Also of interest is the provision of alternative compounds for use in electronic devices.
Unter dem Begriff elektronische Vorrichtung werden gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung unter anderem organische integrierte Schaltungen (OICs), organische Feld-Effekt-Transistoren (OFETs), organische Dünnfilmtransistoren (OTFTs), organische lichtemittierende Transistoren (OLETs), organische Solarzellen (OSCs), organische optische Detektoren, organische Photorezeptoren, organische Feld-Quench-Devices (OFQDs), organische lichtemittierende elektrochemische Zellen (OLECs), organische Laserdioden (O-Laser), organische plasmonemittierende Dioden und organische Elektrolumineszenzvorrichtungen (OLEDs) verstanden. The term electronic device according to the present invention includes organic integrated circuits (OICs), organic field effect transistors (OFETs), organic thin film transistors (OTFTs), organic light emitting transistors (OLETs), organic solar cells (OSCs), organic optical Detectors, organic photoreceptors, organic field quench devices (OFQDs), organic light-emitting electrochemical cells (OLECs), organic laser diodes (O-lasers), organic plasmon-emitting diodes, and organic electroluminescent devices (OLEDs).
Regarding the performance data of the organic electroluminescent devices, further improvements are required, particularly in view of a broad commercial use. Of particular importance in this connection are the service life, the efficiency and the operating voltage of the organic electroluminescent devices as well as the realized color values. Especially with blue-emitting electroluminescent devices there is potential for improvement with regard to the lifetime of the devices. In addition, it is desirable that the compounds for use as functional materials in electronic devices have high thermal stability and high glass transition temperature and sublime indestructible.
Furthermore, there is a need for matrix materials, in particular for matrix materials for phosphorescent emitters, which at the same time lead to good efficiency, long service life and low operating voltage of the electronic devices. Again, there is particular interest in providing matrix materials for green-emitting phosphorescent dopants. Especially the properties of the matrix materials are often limiting for the life and the efficiency of the organic electroluminescent device. For matrix materials for phosphorescent emitters, it is desirable that they have a high T 1 level (triplet level). This is particularly relevant for matrix materials for blue-emitting phosphorescent emitters.
Furthermore, the provision of new electron transport materials is desirable, since just the properties of the electron transport material exert a significant influence on the above-mentioned properties of the organic electroluminescent device. In particular, there is a need for electron transport materials which at the same time lead to good efficiency, long service life and low operating voltage.
In
The present invention is therefore based on the technical object to provide alternative compounds which are suitable for use in electronic devices such as OLEDs, and which can be used in particular as matrix materials for phosphorescent emitters and / or as electron-transport materials.
In the context of the present invention, it has now been found that compounds of formula (I) or (II) given below are outstandingly suitable for use in electronic devices, in particular as matrix materials for phosphorescent emitters and / or as electron-transport materials.
