B EKANNTMACHUNG DER ANMELDUNG UND AUSGABE DER AUSLEGESCHRIFT: 1. DEZEMBER 1960NOTIFICATION OF THE APPLICATION AND ISSUE OF THE EXPLAINING PAPER: DECEMBER 1, 1960
A distinction is made between static and moving electrical contacts. Is common both have the task of transmitting electrical current from one conductor to another. At dormant Contacts one differentiates between permanent connections, which are usually made by soldering or Welding are created, and detachable connections, which are created by clamping. Moving Contacts are usually sliding contacts, e.g. B. with pantographs of a collector, slip ring, Contact wire or the like, with coal being used as a contact medium as a rule. But it is not It is advisable to use sliding contacts also for static contact connections. The ones in electrical engineering On the other hand, sliding contacts marked with contact brushes are again not for clamping contacts expedient. Solid metallic terminal contacts have the disadvantage that they are never so flat can be that the entire required, the cross-section forming contact surface also really to Carry comes. Resilient contacts have also been suggested, such as wire mesh in FIG horizontal stratification to the contact surfaces. The firm pressure of the layers of tissue lying flat on top of one another but as a whole is no longer an elastic and resilient mass, so that the desired effect is missed. There were also wire mesh in layers directed vertically to the contact surfaces developed, with the wire parts contained in the fabric construction at an angle against the contact surfaces aimed at a variety of point contacts with good suction. This construction was not entirely satisfactory either, since the structure of these contacts is too loose and a certain narrowing of the cross-section leads to heating and excessive wear. The The same disadvantage have contact brushes, which consist of bundled conductors and in a loose association of a cover made of fabric or sheet metal are held together. Sheets, bundles or fabrics, in The lamellas joined together were supposed to cause fat to rise by means of hairpipes. This, too, did not prove successful, as impurities and moisture are attracted as the fat is consumed which destroy the whole contact body from the inside. Many possible solutions were still being proposed brought us to improve the contacts, but none of them have proven themselves in practice and prevailed.
The idea of the invention provides that the wire sections by a constricting upsetting process in the axial direction of the brush contact on an existing special coat or single-brush contact for rigid and movable Devices of clamping contacts

The construction according to the invention has the advantage that the greatest possible number in a very small space is reached at point contacts. This will reduce the contact resistance at the connection points kept so small that they correspond to welded or other homogeneous connections. Another advantage is the high wear resistance, which again results in an enormous one long lifetime.
