Die Backen A werden durch federnde Bleche gebildet, welche so gekrümmt sind, daß ihre Innenfläche sowohl in der Länge, als auch in der Breite konkav ist. In der Mitte der Außenseite dieser Bleche sind Kugellager E angebracht, in welchen sich die kugelförmig ausgebildeten Enden F des Bügels B bewegen. An der Ober- wie an der Unterkante jeder Backe sind zwei seitliche Ansätze C angebracht, welche dazu dienen, den die benachbarten Teile des Gebisses überdeckenden Kautschukdamm niederzudrücken. An beiden Enden jeder Backe sind ferner Ansätze D angebracht, welche sich an die benachbarten Zähne anlegen. An den Bügelenden sind Vorsprünge G vorhanden, welche sich an die Außenseite der Kugellager E anlegen und dadurch verhindern, daß die Backen durch einen Stoß des ausgleitenden Plombierwerkzeuges gegen ihre Oberkante gedreht und mit ihrer Unterkante in das Zahnfleisch eingedrückt werden.The jaws A are formed by resilient metal sheets which are curved so that their inner surface is concave both in length and in width.
