Abstract
Description
Medical injection device The present invention relates refers to a medical injection device with one cannula and one in it accommodated electrode to be injected, in particular EKG electrode, as well as a method of making such a device.
A known injection device of this type consists of an injection cannula, a helical electrode made of stainless steel wire and a Push-out ram, with the help of which the electrode in the cannula is placed under the Skin of a patient can be injected. The advantage of injected EKG electrodes consists in the electrical contact between the patient's body and the electrode is very good and can cause further annoyance to the patient if necessary for more than remains for four weeks.
In view of the fact that such electrodes can be produced quickly, i.e. without lengthy Preparatory work, should be injectable and the entire injection device sterile has to be, such injection devices are manufactured for single use and packed sterile; the electrode is already inserted into the cannula, see above that the doctor only has to open the packaging and inject the electrode needs.
In practice, such injection devices have been found to be a disadvantage found that after opening the package the inserted into the cannula The electrode fell out of the cannula and was no longer sterile and therefore could no longer be used. The reason for falling out is because that with normal manufacturing accuracy both the size of the inner diameter of the The cannulas as well as those of the diameter of the spiral electrodes are widely scattered, so that in In most cases, the reversible electrodes are loosely in the cannulas. It is not without great technical effort is possible, the dimensions for the inner diameter of the cannula and to adhere to the diameter of the Wendelelek electrodes so precisely that the electrode in the cannula "fits", i.e. on the one hand inserted into the cannula without permanent deformation can be and - also when vibrations occur (transporter vibrations) - by itself in it until ur injecting gets stuck.
The object of the present invention is to provide a medical injection device of the type mentioned at the beginning in a simple manner, i.e. without using the commercially available To raise demands going beyond manufacturing accuracy, to train so that the disadvantage described can no longer occur.
According to the invention this object is achieved in that the electrode held in the cannula such that it can be lost, preferably glued into it. Per se it would be possible to effect the holder by having the cannula with a Provides narrow point at which the helical electrode is then clamped or that one increases the helix diameter at one point for the same purpose. At this However, the possibility must be taken into account that the constriction or the enlargement of the helix diameter would have to be measured precisely so that the electrode can be inserted is still possible in the cannula and the holding forces are large enough. this would only be possible with a relatively large technical effort, which means that the production essential would become more expensive. In contrast, gluing brings the The advantage of this is that there are no costly measures to be carried out when setting up animals of cannulas and electrodes are required and easy to use for an absolute secure bracket is taken care of that. does not come off even with shocks.
In the context of the invention, a water-soluble, physiological adhesive is used as the adhesive Compatible adhesive, preferably a commercially available five percent salt-free Infusion solution from polydextrose, the average molecular weight of which is of the order of magnitude of about sixty thousand is used. After the adhesive has dried there are sufficient holding forces between the cannula and coil to prevent them from falling out also to prevent shocks. The holding forces are not too great either, but allow injection without applying excessive force (which leads to deformations the thin spiral electrode); even if the holder forces for an immediate "smooth" injection should be too great in exceptional cases, is guaranteed because of the water solubility of the adhesive that this after piercing the cannula is released from the blood in a short time, whereupon the electrode is pushed out from .the cannula easily possible. is ..- For creating the injection device According to the invention, it is advisable to extend the helical electrode up to the puncture opening insert the cannula (see figure), the cannula horizontally, with the puncture opening exposed to store, to apply the adhesive to the puncture opening and to dry permit.
When using cannulas with an inclined puncture opening is included insert the helical electrode into the cannula in such a way that at least some coils of the electrode end are located and the cannula - against rolling away secured - so to store horizontally that the beveled cannula opening facing up.
The introduction of the adhesive can then be done in that only a drop is dripped onto the puncture opening of the cannula. That as beneficial specified adhesive is so liquid that when a drop drips onto the The cannula end of these drops is immediately drawn into the cannula due to the capillary action will. Under normal conditions, the drop of adhesive dries within approximately 10 to 30 minutes sufficiently strong, the resulting cold forces between The cannula and electrode have an average of about 100 μ, generally less than 200 p. These holding forces are sufficient but not too great; try have shown that without any particular force or deformation of the electrode, this can be injected by means of the push-out ram.
In the following, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated with reference to a figure explained.
.Nit 1 is the cannula of the injection device, with 2 the Push-out ram (which is actually at least as long as the cannula) with 3 the coiled electrode, with 4 the inclined puncture opening of the cannula, with 5 a piece of wire, with the help of which a piece of wire has been removed from a storage container Drops of 6 adhesive are applied to the eantile opening 4. Not shown is the storage device with the help of which the injection device is supported in this way that it lies horizontally with the beveled cannula opening upwards shows. A five percent solution of a polydextrose (C6H10O5) n with the average molecular weight of 60,000 is used. Such dextrose solutions are on the market as salt-free infusion solutions. Saline solutions are im Avoided within the scope of the invention because the salt after drying in concentrated Form is present and so is not well suited for the injection. .
