Description
The invention relates to a system for detecting RFID-marked objects, in particular designed as anti-theft system for arrangement in the entrance / exit area of department stores, supermarkets and similar objects, the system comprising at least one UHF RFID reader and at least one UHF connected thereto RFID array.
Systems for detecting articles marked with RFID assemblies are already available in numerous designs. A typical example is anti-theft systems, which are usually arranged at the entry or exit area of department stores, supermarkets and similar objects and known as so-called EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) theft protection. Conventional EAS facilities consist of so-called gates. These are based on large loop antennas, which generate an alternating magnetic field in front of them and are fed by readers / drivers, which are predominantly arranged under the antennas. Typical operating frequencies of such theft systems are 8.2 MHz and 130 kHz, respectively. If a transponder is located in the field of the gate antennas, the system can trigger acoustic and / or visual signals and thus an obvious warning about a currently suspected theft. A major disadvantage of these systems, however, are the short ranges, because the magnetic field decreases rapidly with the distance. Therefore, transponders can usually only be detected at distances of up to 1.5 m. As a result, these gates are always placed immediately in the middle of the entrance or exit areas so that they are always visible and actually encourage potential thieves to move past these gates with sufficient clearance.

The object of the invention is to provide a designed as a theft protection UHF RFID system, which has a greater reading range over previously known systems, so that the antenna at greater distances from the input or output range, z. B. integrated in a ceiling or wall and thus not visible, can be arranged. At the same time, the system should convey without doubt "Marker Tags" and "Calibration Nodes" a clear information whether transponders have passed the entrance or exit area or not. Furthermore, a simplified structure is to be achieved by the system consists of only one unit, preferably with several separate and "Beamswitching" based reading zones.
This object is achieved by the array having three switchable states defining three separate read zones, the read zone being outwardly separated and the read zone inwardly being severely separated, and the array consisting of four radiator elements and a feed network. Preferably, the array is designed so that the inner radiator elements are fed with greater power (eg four times the power) than the outer radiator elements and that the sequential phase difference between the radiator elements is + X ° or -X ° when the array looks in the outer or inner business area and is 0 ° when the array is looking straight ahead and X is between 0 ° and 360 °. Alternatively, the sequential phase difference between the radiator elements may be + 90 ° or -90 ° if the array is looking in the outer and inner domains, and 0 ° if the array is looking straight ahead. Further alternative variants and advantageous embodiments are the subject of subclaims, whose technical features are explained in more detail in the embodiment.
The anti-theft system according to the invention can for example be integrated into the ceiling of a shop and is therefore not visible. The system is based on conventional UHF RFID transponders, the z. B. in a textile store as labels on clothing pieces and may be present.
The typical reading ranges of the previously known UHF RFID systems are more than 10 m and thus allow remote positions of the UHF anti-theft system.
A typical UHF RFID system consists of a reader and one or more antennas connected by coaxial cable. The use of a typical system as theft protection at the exit of a store is due to the wide 3dB opening angle of usually 70 °, the a commercial UHF RFID antenna has unfavorable. Because this would, if the antenna z. B. positioned on the ceiling of the exit, and many other transponders detected in the business. As a result, no firm statement could be made as to whether a transponder is actually being moved out of business. Similarly, even antennas with a small 3dB opening angle of 30 ° can not realize a clear statement as to whether a transponder is still in the shop or already at the exit.
These problems are now overcome by the system according to the invention consists of a UHF RFID reader and a specifically designed antenna array. In this case, the antenna array is integrated in a housing and can switch its directional diagram based on the control signals of the reader, preferably to allow three different directional diagrams. The antenna control signals are preferably transmitted via the same coaxial cable, but they can alternatively be transmitted via separate lines between the reader and antenna. The decision on where to place a transponder is based on a switch-beam antenna array, which has particularly narrow side lobes and thus enables an extremely high degree of separation between the transponders that are located in the interior of the store and in its outer area.
Es zeigen:An embodiment of the anti-theft system according to the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show it:
