Abstract

An assembly determines the proportion of suspended solids in a liquid. The assembly has a container for the suspension, a dielectric measurement sensor which hangs in the liquid from an overhead support, and a data processing and read-out display. The assembly also esp. has a second sensor which measures the average density of the suspension, and which is also linked to the data-processing unit. The container is a length of pipe through which the fluid flows or a tank. The first sensor is a microwave emitter and detector which determines the dampening and/or phase transposition, or microwave time lapse. The second measuring probe is source of a gamma- o x-rays and an emission detector, operating in the range between 15 keV and 1.3 MeV. The measuring path is straight. The two sensors are located immediately side-by-side. A temperature sensor is located in the suspension and linked to the data processing unit.

Claims (9)

1. Vorrichtung zum Messen der Feststoffkonzentration in einer Suspen­ sion mit:
  • - einem Aufnahmeelement für die Suspension,
  • - einer ersten an oder in dem Aufnahmeelement angeordneten Meßsonde zur Messung wenigstens einer dielektrischen Kenn­ größe der Suspension,
  • - einer Auswerteeinheit,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass im oder am Aufnahmeelement eine zweite Meßsonde zur Messung der mittleren Dichte der Suspension angeordnet und mit der Auswerteeinheit verbunden ist.
