Abstract
Description
Process sur Wasse @@ preparation with ozone The invention relates to a method for water treatment with ozone, wherein ozen is added to the water and is intimately mixed with this.
The ozone treatment kills pathogens and converts practically all unwanted ones substances retained in the water into a removable form.
As is well known, it is not enough for swimming pools if only that in the pool fed water is sterile. The duration of the bathing water in the Basin is usually several hours. Germs from the atmosphere get into the basin and entered by the bathers and the growth of these microorganisms can already in reach considerable proportions in a few hours. Above all, the microorganisms settle on the pool wall and withdraw d a d u r c h the circulation cycle.
To prevent the rapid development and multiplication of germs therefore, as is well known, measured a certain, also laterally persistent, ozydation power of the Bathing water must be ensured. The ozone falls very quickly and thus separates for germ prophylaxis. On the other hand, chlorination of the is known for this purpose Bathing water, for example, by introducing chlorine gas. But this is for public and especially private swimming pools extremely dangerous and expensive in terms of equipment and problematic for this reason alone. On the other hand, it has been shown that it is oxidative Effective, i.e. germicidal chlorine in known processes that combine ozone and chlorine in bath water only during one circulation cycle, i.e. a few hours at most remains detectable, so that short dosing intervals or continuous dosing and relatively large quantities are required.
Auf diese Weise belädt man das Wasser zwangsläufig mit einer Reihe von Fremd-Ionen, d.h.Chlorination by means of sodium hypochlorite is also known, for example wise sodium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite solution. Also from these solutions relatively large amounts must be added to the bath water, whereby the The pH value of the water rises above the limit value of about 7.8 which is tolerable for humans. After such a treatment, the bath water has to be replaced by a massive use of acid be neutralized. In this way you inevitably load the water with a Series of foreign ions, i.e.
solchen, die init der Keimprophylaxe nichts zu tun haben.those who have nothing to do with germ prophylaxis.
It is also already known from the literature that bath water is used in connection add sodium bromide with ozone, which in this case becomes oxidatively effective bromine and sodium hydroxide solution reacted. Here too, however, the lye must be neutralized by adding an acid Besides, the chlorine bleach and sodium bromide have the common disadvantage, that they tend to crystallize out and therefore in automatic dosing devices Make trouble.
Another important aspect of pool water treatment is the behavior of the pH value over time. Bath water of any kind usually tends to in addition, to slide into the alkaline Gchiet bie above pH = 8.5.
The reason for this is the leakage through the skin of all bathers urea derivatives and not showered soap. Also more concrete from concrete pools an alkalizing effect through the joints of the paving. Man is therefore forced to intervene and regulate the bath water through use especially to neutralize hydrochloric acid.
The invention is based on the object of the described, aös different Constraints resulting from overloading the bathing water with chemicals that the health are certainly not conducive to counteracting. It's supposed to be a possibility are shown, the germ prophylaxis and the stabilization of the pH value with less than previously known and with such chemicals to ensure that it is easier to use handle, especially easier to dose.
This object is achieved according to the invention in the process described in more detail at the outset in that hydrobromic acid is added to the water before it is mixed with Oson. This allows the elementary and thus oxidatively effective bromine to be represented at the point of entry of the ozone into the bathing water in the required and permissible amount: This bromine disproportionates in the water and is in the following equilibrium, i.e. partially dissolved and partially chemically converted: An essential finding according to the invention is that the oxidative and thus prophylactically active bromine, which destroys the microorganisms introduced in the pool water, can be detected as active after a one-time admixture lasting only a short period of time during several circulation cycles and thus much longer in the pool water Chlorine. This is due to the property of bromine that it can be continuously reactivated by ozone when the pool water is circulated.
In the basin, the active bromine becomes through the meeting and the chemical Reaction with germs and other predominantly organic substances to ineffective bromide reduced. However, this process is only one step, so that the bromide when it is Circulation in the treatment plant and there together with the ozone, again is subjected to the process of equations (1) and (2), which Cycle multiple times. The cycle is ultimately only interrupted by the bromide ions in a form attached to flocculated organic substances, or simply because they are included in gel conglomerates of these substances Part of being filtered out.
This ongoing reactivation of the bromine present in the water is permitted extraordinarily small amounts of hydrobromic acid and large zoites between the dosing processes. The addition of bromine is essentially only a replacement of the bromine filtered out with the colloids.
With your use of hydrobromic acid, the problem of stabilizing the pH value in bathing water is also solved without the use of additional acids that have nothing to do with germ prophylaxis. Hydrobromic acid by itself effectively counteracts the alkalizing tendency of bathing water. Overacidification of the bathing water (pH value less than 6.8) is not to be expected, as hydrogen ions are intercepted by the simultaneous presence of ozone and transferred to neutral water An important practical advantage of the invention is that the hydrobromic acid is relatively easy to dose at room temperature because it does not tend to crystallize. In the case of automatic dosing devices for chlorine bleach, as used in known water treatment processes, on the other hand, crystals regularly settle in the dosing valves and thereby cause operational malfunctions.
Even if pool water treatment is the preferred application of the invention, their application is also in the preparation of other waters quite conceivable. The application will have to be considered wherever there is a water cycle and it affects the germ prophylaxis and the simultaneous pH stabilization with as few chemical substances as possible, and little at that in terms of type and quantity.
In the case of a treatment plant in which the bath water circulates and brought up to the point of entry of the ozone into the bathing water through a pipeline In a further development of the invention, hydrobronic acid is preferred introduce into this pipeline at a point that corresponds to the direction of flow of the bathing water is arranged at a short distance in front of the entry point of the ozone. In this way, the n-r time sequence essential to the invention is established in the simplest way the mixing process is sufficient, after which first the hydrobromic acid and then d <is Ozone must be introduced into the water.
In a further development of the invention, the added amount of hydrobromic acid can also be kept small in that the addition takes place only during certain time intervals which each follow the filter cleaning or filter backwashing process. In contrast, if hydrobromic acid were to be added continuously or at times when larger amounts of flocculated substances had already settled in the filter, the oxidative bromine would largely react with these substances in the filter and would not get into the pool with the Filter residues are removed. For this reason, the invention is proposed in a further development. to make the control of the dosage and the filter cleaning dependent on each other in the manner mentioned. In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, a gravel filter is used, for example, which is automatically rinsed every three days. After tiede: @ filter backwashing is then oa. Added hydrobromic acid over 100 minutes. In well-known bathing water treatment systems with Oson, an activated carbon filter is usually also provided in the bathing water circuit in addition to the gravel filter. This has certain catalytic effects in the cleaning process, but these are of minor importance with regard to the use of ozone in bathing water as opposed to drinking water. Much more important is the safety function of such activated carbon filters, which prevent ozone dissolved in the water or ozone being carried away by the water from entering the pool and endangering bathers there. In contrast, the invention offers the advantage that the bromide contained in the water according to Excludes ozone in the pool with certainty. If an activated carbon filter is no longer necessary for safety reasons, it becomes unnecessary at all.
With longer text operation, the following empirical value has been found for the Result in hydrobromic acid consumption. It is sufficient if in one year of operation in total about 4 centiliters of a 63 percent hydrobromic acid per cubic meter of the tank volume the pool water is added. Example two are therefore 2 litor Hydrobromic acid required per year for a 50m3 pool. It surrenders so always one. Concentration of about 0.6 to 1.2 ppm oxidizing bromine in the bath water. The concentration fluctuates around one in this preferred range lying mean value without a Concentration peak occurs.
