Abstract

A synthetic covering for heat exchangers and tubes for heat exchangers, comprises a highly elastic layer(b) of synthetic material with a high modulus of elasticity, and a thin coating layer(c) of a material of high tenacity with a low coefft. of friction. Beneath the elastic layer (b) immediately on the inner metallic surface of the tube wall, there is an underlayer(a) of a plastic which, when applied, has a low viscosity. The elastic layer(b) has a structural component(b1) of a material which has a high degree of resistance to change of form at high temps., and an elastic component (b2) of a material extremely capable of adapting itself elastically to change of shape. The lining described is much more resistant to expansion and contraction due to temp. changes, and is uniform in thickness, so that familiar cleaning techniques can be employed. There is less tendency for foreign matter to adhere to the lining, and the friction of the heat exchanging medium is reduced.

Description

Plastic coating for heat exchangers and pipes for heat exchangers The invention relates to a plastic coating for heat exchangers and pipes for heat exchangers0 The known heat exchangers have the disadvantage that after a more or less short period of operation, corrosion damage on the inside of the pipe ESCAPE First of all, the corrosion is noticeable at the rolling points rolling in and the electro-chemical stresses at the contact points between the different metallic materials of tube plate and tubes in particular are subject to high levels of corrosion stress 0 To remedy this deficiency, Reinforcements in the form of thin bushings have been provided at the rolling-in points. However, this results in a very considerable additional effort, since the sockets are a require exact fitting. In addition, because of the difficulty, there arise a exact fit often impairments due to inaccuracies in the seat of the Reinforcement BushingsO When subsequently inserting the reinforcement bushes in defective heat exchangers there is also the disadvantage of an undesirably large expenditure of time long operating failure0 Furthermore, one has the tubes of heat exchangers for suppression the corrosion phenomena provided with a plastic inner coating. These Coating was applied in such a way that there is a stream of plastic low viscosity through the tubes of the heat exchanger. In doing so, however, occurred often irregularities in the coating, so that not or inadequately coated areas soon resulted in corrosion damage, while excessively strong coating areas led to local constrictions of the pipes, which the Use of the tried and tested cleanliness procedures that work with the circulation of cleaning balls impossible, so that it was generally preferred to apply to the entire coating to dispense with the inner wall of the pipe in favor of recirculating ball cleaning0 Another A major disadvantage of the known inner pipe coating was that the Inner pipe coating due to the strong thermal expansion of the metal pipes mechanical Has been subjected to stresses that after a short period of operation already led to cracks from overuse.

The invention is based on the object of a plastic coating for heat exchangers and / or heat exchanger tubes that provide better strength and has uniformity.

In solving this problem, the invention is based on consideration from that the plastic coating are made of highly elastic material would have to deal with the tensile stresses occurring during operation of a heat exchanger to be able to absorb without overstraining. The well-known elastic plastics however, have the disadvantage of a relatively rough surface, which is great for the ball recirculation process to keep the pipes clean have an unfavorable effect * ur the starting point Of these considerations, the invention is a coating of both high elasticity as well as low he surface friction has been created by the plastic coating a stronger elastic layer made of plastic with a higher modulus of elasticity and a thinner top layer made of material of high strength and lower coefficient of friction contains.

As the tests have shown, a stronger one can be used layer Made of plastic with a higher modulus of elasticity using suitable tools with a high Calibrate evenness while getting the smooth top layer, which is just the one Has the task of creating a surface with low friction, which can be made so thin that that it practically only forms a wetting of the strong elastic layer and Irregularities due to running are no longer to be feared at the rolling points there is the advantage that the coating of the rolling point surface is individual adapts, it is useful under the elastic layer, directly on the metallic one Inner pipe wall, a lower layer of plastic, smaller in the application stage Viscosity provided0 This sub-layer is preferably used, for example by machining with a pressure roller, pressed in, so that all hairline cracks in the material of the pipes, in particular at the rolling points, to be filled in as completely as possible 0 Any irregularities this inner layer of low viscosity due to flow processes during manufacture are balanced again by the strong elastic middle layer0 the The elastic layer preferably consists of a framework component from an elevated one Temperatures a high dimensional stability retaining material and an elastic component made of material with strong elastic form adaptability, for example from a 1: 1 mixture of epoxy resin or polyurethane and bitumen0 for the sub-layer An epoxy resin is particularly suitable, and a Teflon dispersion for the top layer In the drawing, the invention is illustrated using an exemplary embodiment 1 shows a heat exchanger with a plastic coating according to the invention, Fig. 2 cross section through one of the exchanger tubes in the area of the rolling point, in larger scale and FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the inner coating of the pipe according to FIG. 2, on an enlarged scale.

The invention is applicable to all heat exchangers in which the a heat exchange medium through tube bundles with tube ends rolled into tube sheets directed Figo 1 shows such a heat exchanger with horizontal cylindrical container 1 with inlet nozzle 2 and outlet nozzle 3 for the one heat exchange medium, for example steam, a partition 4 for bypassing the steam through two chambers of the cylindrical container 1, each of which is a tube bundle for the flow of the other heat exchange medium, e.g. water, are permeated0 The tubes 5, which are not shown in FIG. 01, have their ends in tube plates 6 rolled in 0 The second heat exchange medium is over a cover 7 with an inlet chamber 8 is fed to the upper tube bundle in container 1, passes through a reversing chamber 9 in a lid 10 at the other end of the container 1 from the upper tube bundle to the lower Tube bundle and from there to an outlet chamber 11 in the cover 70 The tubes 5 are Provided over its entire length with an inner coating 12, which by insertion is applied by plastic spray nozzles 0 This coating 12 consists as Fig. 3 shows, made up of several layers, namely a lower layer a made of plastic smaller Viscosity, a middle layer b made of plastic with a higher modulus of elasticity, in the following elastic layer called, and an upper class Material with high strength and low coefficient of friction.

The lower layer a made of plastic of low viscosity has above all Things have the task of covering the metallic surface of the pipes as completely as possible and any cracks or pores, in particular also at the rolling points, as far as possible to fill in0 This layer preferably consists of a pigmented one Epoxy resin with a viscosity of 20 sec (Ford Cop 4 mm for 20 seconds) The layer thickness the bottom layer is zoBo 40 110 The epoxy resin applied through the nozzle is intensively distributed and pressed in by a roller or roller, so that it is good penetrates into pores and hairline cracks d of the pipe 5, the elastic layer b has the task of to elastically absorb stresses occurring during operation and to ensure that that as a result of such stresses any damage occurring in the lower layer does not lead to leaks, this elastic layer b is expediently made of a Mixture of material with higher dimensional stability than Framework component b1 and a material with strong elastic conformability formed as an elastic component b2.

An epoxy resin, in turn, can be used as the framework component b1 as Elastic component b2 find a bitumen use, with a mixing ratio of preferably 1: 10 The viscosity of the mixture is up to 45 seconds, the thickness of the elastic layer more than 120, preferably about 180 g. As a framework component A polyurethane material is also suitable if it does not have great acid resistance is required0 The upper class c has the particular task of being small Coefficient of friction ensure proper cleaning operation by rubber cleaning balls to ensure and for this purpose advantageously consists of a Teflon dispersion with a layer thickness of z, B. 25 to 30 j and a viscosity of 25 sec An important advantage is that the top layer has a strong repellent effect exerts on foreign bodies and thus prevents the accumulation of such foreign bodies0 Furthermore, the flow friction on the pipe walls is reduced o The total thickness of the Coating is chosen so that with certainty, even over longer periods of operation, no continuous pore formation can occur0 Experiments have shown that this with a total layer thickness of about 250 ji with a layer thickness ratio of about 40 p / 180 P / 30 ji = 250 P can be achieved0 Otherwise, the layer thicknesses will be used adapt to the prevailing conditions, within the scope of the invention are still various modifications and other designs possible, the coating can optionally also on the particularly endangered rolling points of the tubes 5 into the tube plate 6, as illustrated on the lower tube of FIG it is advantageous to also close the ends of the rolling stations in the same way coat0 This also causes the exposed boundary zone 13 between pipe 5 and Tube plate 6 covered by the coating on the outside of the tube plate and in particular prevents corrosion from the front side in the interior the boundary zone between tubes and tube plate can spread, as in particular otherwise observed when using hydrochloric acid or similarly aggressive cleaning agents will0 - claims -
