Claims (1)

The merchant ship has been added as a new target for torpedoes. Merchant ships are sometimes moderately armored, sometimes only lightly armed in relation to a warship and, in particular, less resistant to fire and explosive effects, so that even a torpedo hitting the waterline or in its vicinity seriously endangers the vehicle, whereas with warships only a deep shot achieved this goal under water. If one uses such torpedoes floating on the water for the fight against merchant ships, there is the advantage that they are much simpler, 1 S lighter and cheaper than the common torpedoes moving under water, since z. B: the sensitive depth apparatus and accessories are no longer necessary. It is particularly advantageous to use a torpedo of this type instead of using compressed air Propel propellant in the manner of a rocket. This makes the torpedo even more essential simplified and cheaper. But this is with the present great need for torpedoes of highest importance. Such a torpedo has the advantage that it can also be used against vehicles with little Draft is usable. . Ρλτεντ-Anspkuch:. -Torpedo, characterized in that it is floating on the water Propellant is propelled in the manner of a rocket. -
