Abstract
Description
From the magazine Bosch Technischeberichte, volume 8 (1986), booklet 1/2, pages 15 to 25 it is known to use coded traffic information To transmit FM radio stations using RDS. According to those made there ten suggestions, the traffic information is typed so that not all the traffic information has to be transmitted, but it it is sufficient to simply transfer keywords. Through that before beaten transmission method is achieved that a recipient after receiving three groups is able to get a traffic output information. The path proposed there has been lasts, but it has been shown that especially in a lot number of information to be transmitted it takes a long time to transmit all information about traffic incidents to the recipient have been.
In the embodiment of the radio receiver according to the invention the characteristic features of the main claim derive demge compared to the advantage that the data transmission to the recipient is essential Lich can be carried out faster, so that within the same Time much more information is transferable. The operator the recipient is therefore able to enter the Be much earlier seat of traffic news. Another advantage is to consider that the redundancy of the Transmission can be increased and thus the entire transmission is safer is shaped. Another advantage is that the proposed measure cost-intensive additional facilities are not become necessary.
The measures listed in the subclaims provide for partial training and improvements in the main claim specified recipient possible. It is particularly advantageous to the additional transfer of the number of routes of interest segments to ensure that the information is not just relates to a segment of the route, but also to several segments of the route elements are comprehensible. This gives flexibility to the pre hit recipient further increased.
Es zeigenAn embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing represents and explained in more detail in the following description. It demonstrate
Fig. 1 shows an example of a receiver for receiving radio broadcasts with overlaid traffic information and Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of the structure of the memory contained in the receiver.
From the Bosch Technical Reports, Volume 8, 1986, Issue 1/2, pages 15 to 25 it is known to receive receivers To expand radio broadcasts by including digital traffic information can be received. This is what the broadcasting company does used discussed radio data system. Here, the Traffic information is digitally encoded, using a predetermined one Typing is possible, a traffic-relevant message is almost un to be restricted. The evaluation of the typed over This is carried in the recipient.
As shown in FIG. 1, such a receiver has an antenna 10 in a known manner, which is followed by a high-frequency and intermediate-frequency part 11 . The high-frequency and intermediate frequency part 11 is followed by a demodulator and low-frequency amplifier 12 to which a loudspeaker 16 is connected.
Bei einer optischen Übertragung steuert die Ausgabeeinheit 15 die Anzeigeeinheit 17 an.Furthermore, an RDS-Emp catcher 13 is connected to the high and intermediate frequency part 11 , as is known for example from the aforementioned document. This RDS receiver acts on a memory 14 , to which in turn an output unit 15 is connected, which builds the information with the transmitted data and the words stored in the memory. The output unit 15 can also be a voice output control, as shown in the aforementioned document, or it is possible to provide an optical display, for example in the form of an information tape as an LCD display. In the case of a speech output, the processed speech signal is fed to the power amplifier 12 and then transmitted via the loudspeaker 16 . In the case of an optical transmission, the output unit 15 controls the display unit 17 .
The special design of the memory 14 ensures that the intended information is output with a minimum of transmitted data. It is assumed that each road is divided into segments that the driver can understand. Looking at the A7 motorway, for example, a segment would be defined, for example, by the larger towns of Hanover and Kassel, which are known to most users of this route. These segments 22 are now stored in the memory 14 in a street-oriented manner. Each street is therefore assigned a specific area 20 in which the segments 22 are arranged.
These segments 22 are now subdivided into individual track segments 21 , which are stored in ascending order. For example, it is possible to assign route segments 1 to 100 to the first segment, route segments 101 to 200 to the second segment, and so on. The route segments themselves are advantageously defined by certain locations that are of greater importance. In the case of motorways, this is possible, for example, in that a route segment consists of the section which is limited by two motorway exits. Here, the route segment 21 does not need to be characterized by a route, rather it is sufficient if a route segment is defined by a location which, for example, lies at the beginning of the route in the north-south direction or in the east-west direction. For example, it is possible to mark a "Hildesheim" segment in the "Hannover-Kassel" segment, which then extends from the Hildesheim exit to the Holle motorway exit. The route segment "Holle" following the route segment "Hildesheim" now defines, for example, the route between the motorway exits Holle and Salzgitter junction.
Because of the memory structure designed in this way, it is sufficient for the receiver if only the route segment concerned and the direction of travel are transmitted for a traffic report, so that a complete traffic report can be built up with the type of information already transmitted. Through the transmission of the street it is achieved that only the loading area 20 can be addressed in the receiver memory 14 , which has the corresponding street marking. Due to the arrangement of the route segment in the memory, the transmission of route segment 21 determines which segment 22 is affected. In addition, the transmission of the direction of travel determines the limits by which the route segment 21 is delimited. For example, if called as a line segment 21, the num ber 128, then placed firmly in the direction of travel from north to south, that the line segment 128 must follow the route segment 129 while 128, the line segment follows on a trip from south to north the route segment 127th The same is of course to be determined for the east or west direction. With the information now available, it is possible without difficulty to give a complete traffic report. If several roads have to be taken into account, the information of the road is already transmitted, the segment "direction of travel Hanover to Kassel" is determined on the one hand by the direction of travel and on the other hand by the transmitted route segment 21 , which can be found in a certain segment 22 , the information The points between which a traffic event has occurred, namely between Hildesheim and Holle, for example, are also determined on the one hand by the direction of travel and on the other hand by the route segment 21 , since it is specified for a certain direction of travel that the one route segment "Hildesheim" and that in The following route segment is called "Holle". Finally, in a known manner, information about the type of traffic event must be transmitted, for example that there is a traffic jam due to an accident. The information to be transmitted is therefore limited to the road, the direction of travel, the route segment and the type of traffic event.
If you do not want to limit yourself to only one route segment when reporting, but also several route segments are to be recorded by the traffic report, additional information is required which states how many route segments are affected by a traffic event. For this purpose, it is only necessary to identify the number of route segments 21 of interest in more detail and also to transmit them. If, for example, the number 2 is transmitted, this indicates that the traffic event extends over two route segments. In the evaluation by the evaluation circuit 15 , therefore, in addition to the route segment 128, only the next but one route segment, namely the route segment 130, is taken into account. This means that the traffic event does not take place between Hildesheim and Holle as the beginning of the next route segment, but for example between Hildesheim and the Salzgitter junction, since this is the beginning of route segment 130 in the selected example.
Due to the above-described structure of the memory 14 in the receiver, it is therefore possible to make the digitized traffic information much shorter. The special design of the Emp catcher ensures that the signal transmission and evaluation in the receiver can be carried out much faster, so that the number of traffic information to be received is increased in the same period. This can also be used, for example, to increase the redundancy of the received signals, so that interference can be easily suppressed.
