Description

The invention relates to a vehicle exterior mirror with parking light, with those specified in the preamble of the main claim Characteristics.

Such is already known from European patent 00 49 252 Vehicle exterior mirror known, the one below the mirror Has housing arranged lamp. The lamp is with the The reverse gear is engaged and lights up the vehicle adjacent side area. That way while reversing is facilitated by the high and wide reflective lights become other road users blinded who approach the vehicle from behind or want to overtake this. The lamp is around a vertical support rod swiveling so that it can be easily adjusted. At a new adjustment is an uncomfortable wing nut for Detect the lamp to solve and after the setting process to put on again.

The object of the invention is to have a vehicle exterior mirror Parking light according to the preamble of the main claim give that easier parking at night and with the one Approach the rear wheel on the passenger side Curbs can be avoided. In addition, the light of the Parking lights do not dazzle other road users or to disturb.

This object is achieved in that the parking light in one part formed in the mirror holder and fixed to the vehicle door Housing is arranged and with their bundled rays of light  a narrow, laterally to the wheel contact area of the rear rades adjacent outer area illuminated. Particularly advantageous is only that the area immediately next to the rear wheel is illuminated, which is sufficient to damage a tire Avoid starting at curbs. That from the partial housing Bundled emerging light is when the vehicle door is closed always aimed at the outside area next to the rear wheel, because the Parking light is arranged fixed on the vehicle door. A It is therefore not necessary to readjust the lamp. Except this is due to the arrangement of the parking light in the exterior mirror holder and by an appropriate arrangement of the lamp in the Part housing the downward bundled light beam for others Road users hardly noticeable.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand von Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of Subclaims.

Es zeigenAn embodiment of the invention is based on a Drawing explained in more detail. Show it

The illustration in Fig. 1 shows a having on the right front passenger side located on the vehicle door vehicle outside mirror 2, the two superimposed, separated by a horizontal parting line mirror surfaces 3, 4. The lower mirror surface 3 is set in such a way that the driver of the vehicle can see from his sitting position the side area adjacent to the rear wheel 5 on the passenger side.

Arranged in the mirror holder of the vehicle exterior mirror 2 is a parking light, not shown in FIG. 2, which, as shown in the lower mirror surface 3 in FIG. 2, illuminates the outer region 6 which laterally and indirectly adjoins the rear wheel 5 . The parking light lamp is switched on when reverse gear is engaged. In the exemplary embodiment, the lower mirror surface 3 is continuously divided onto the rear wheel 5 on the side of the vehicle exterior mirror 2 . However, it is also provided that one of the mirror surfaces 3 , 4 or the vehicle exterior mirror 2, when the reverse gear is engaged, can be viewed by the driver on this outer region 6 .

The vehicle exterior mirror 2 , which is shown more clearly in FIG. 3, has a mirror holder 7 which is fixed immovably in the front region of the lower edge of the window opening on the vehicle door 1 and which accommodates a parking light 11 in a partial housing 8 . This throws its light 10 through a diaphragm 9 arranged in the light exit opening of the partial housing 8 and bundled backwards down to the rear wheel. The outwardly open diaphragm 9 has in the plane of the light exit opening approximately perpendicular to each other slats 12 which extend with a length approximately corresponding to the width of the light exit opening to the lamp 13 of the parking light 11 . The slats 12 could also be arranged at any angle in the light exit opening on top of each other. It is also possible that only vertical or only horizontal slats are seen in the light exit opening. The slats 12 are primarily intended to ensure that the light 10 of the parking light 11 emerges in a bundle and the lamp 13 of the parking light 11 is not visible to other road users. This is achieved by slats 12 standing closely to one another and by a corresponding choice of the length of the slats 12 . From the Einparkleuchte 11 only a narrowly limited area is illuminated, so that the traffic is only slightly disturbed by the switched Einparkleuchte. 11 The visible area of the slats 12 is provided with a light-refracting corrugation, so that no scattered light caused by reflections emerges from the light exit opening. In order to be able to adjust the light beam 10 of the parking light 11 at least once precisely to the lateral outer region 6 of the rear wheel 5 , the mirror holder 7 has an adjustment device, not shown, which is independent of the setting device of the vehicle exterior mirror 2 .

The illustration according to FIG. 4 illustrates the conditions in a longitudinal section through the parking light 11 . The outgoing from the switched-on parking lamp 11 light beam 10 is directed obliquely backwards down to the lateral outer region of the rear wheel. Due to the relatively long, closely spaced lamellae 12 and the arrangement of the lamp 13 in the focal point of a reflector 14 , the light 10 emerges from the parking light 11 in a concentrated manner. A road user 15 located at a certain distance from the parking light 11 is neither blinded by the emerging light beam 10 nor by the lamp 13 , which is not visible to the road user 15 .
