Description

The invention relates to a surgical drilling tool with a over a partial length through a fabric protector sleeve encompassing cutting element.

It is known to screw fragments of bone into them connect bare screws. To do this, too next using twist drills the bone fragments and subsequently in these, by means of Tapping drills, threads for the receptacle of screws. The required perforations or threads are in depth through the use of To determine measuring instruments in a cumbersome manner. It is understood that the measuring operations take a long time and require labor that becomes an undesirable Extension of surgery times leads.

It is an object of the invention to manufacture Lochun threads and threads in bone fragments enable safe depth determination.

According to the invention it is provided that as Cutting element is used a drill on whose the cutting edge a cylindrical shaft is formed at the opposite end which has borehole depth markings and a Tissue protection sleeve carries freely, whose cut the end forms a stop. Das Schneidele ment can be done equally with a twist drill  or a tap may be formed. To this The cutting element is for a predetermined depth prepared, with the respective borehole depth mediated the displacements of the tissue protection sleeve on the one tension can be read from the markings there. It corresponds to the idea of the invention that the cutting element alike, in aligned bone fragments can be inserted as a whole or in bone fragments, where parts have prepared slide holes for the screw ben have.

It is understood that the tissue protection sleeve is either is freely movable on the drilling tool, so that when the attack starts on bone fragments or the known bone plates serving for reinforcement Sliding movements of the tissue protection sleeve to the on clamping shanks of twist drills or tapping drills take place or the tissue protection sleeve on the clamp shaft-side end has a locking device and by means of the locking device on the chuck shaft is fixable so the borehole depth determination by running the locked protective sleeve against the Allow bone fragments. It is preferred the locking device by a locking mechanism, for. B. a ball ratchet formed, the ratchet balls in one transverse to the longitudinal axis of the clamping shaft in one Widening of the protective sleeve extending Recess arranged by spring force on the clamp shaft and by means of a widening gripping collar in the system position fixable are. The clamping shaft expediently points at a distance  a number of each other as well depth markings Ring grooves or ring groove sections in which the Ge Partially immerse the locking balls and they are durable. The collar is preferably provided with recesses, the one when compared to the locking balls Excavation of the same, e.g. B. under the influence of a the cutting element becomes effective pushing force leave, while assigning the between the exceptions mation concentric sections the Ar Retaining the tissue protection sleeve by holding the Ge locking balls in the ring grooves or ring groove sections is effected. The tissue guides when locked protective sleeve by resting on the bone fragments or bone plates for an automatic termination the advance of cutting elements. For the user this gives a mechanically perceptible measure for the Determination of the depth of the drilling or threaded holes, where by reading additional marks falls.

It is also provided that the collar on the Ver broadening between the release and locking position is partially rotatable and that the release position and the Arre animal position of the collar by arranged on it th stops and one between the stops led protective sleeve fixed pin can be determined. By the interaction of stops and pin a mechanically perceptible limitation of the partial rotations the collar to the loosening or locking processes given the protective sleeve on the cutting element.

Finally, it is provided that the tissue protection  sleeve facing the cutting of the cutting elements th end one adjoining the end face Bund wears as a stop. The peripheral area of the federal government can be arbitrary, e.g. B. cylindrical, obliquely straight or be convex or concave.

In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a twist drill, at the end facing away from the cutting edges 2 , a cylindrical clamping shank 3 connects. The clamping shaft 3 has a number of markings 4 as depth information. The clamping shaft 3 , as can be seen in FIG. 2, slidably receives a tissue protection sleeve 5 . The the cutting edges 2 facing end 6 of the protection sleeve 5 serves as a stop by resting on bone fragments 7 and on bone plates 8 (Fig. 3) during drilling operations to displacement movements of the tissue protection sleeve 5 carries on the clamping shank 3. The Ge webeschutzhülse 5 cooperates with its, the cutting 2 away end with the markings 4 and allows them to read the respective drilling or cutting depth. It goes without saying that the tissue protection sleeve 7 can also have a collar 9 serving as a stop at its end facing the cutting edges 2 for better support and reduction of the surface pressure. There is also the possibility of recognizing the markings 4 for determining the drilling or cutting depth via a window 10 incorporated in the tissue protection sleeve 5 .

In Fig. 4, a tap 11 with cutting teeth 26 is shown, which has just at the rear end if a cylindrical clamping shaft 3 . In the clamping shaft 3 a number of annular grooves 12 are formed at an axial distance, the determinations preferably to depths with a tissue protection sleeve 5 ken. The tissue protection sleeve 5 has a ball ratchet 13 . By means of the ball ratchet 13 , the tissue protection sleeve 5 can be locked on the clamping shaft 3 of the tapping drill. The ball ratchet 13 receives in recesses 14 a widening 15 Gesper balls 16 freely movable, which are under the influence of supported on pins 18 coil springs 19 and are displaceable in the direction of the annular grooves 12 under their influence. The widening 15 carries an adjusting ring 20 which is adjustable on the widening 15 through part rotations. The adjusting ring 20 has recesses 21, which in association with the locking mechanism, the Gesperrekugeln balls 16 16 under the influence of egg ner on the cutting member transversely to the displacement force becomes effective component of the annular grooves 12 can emerge, while assignment of the intermediate cylindrical 22 portions of the Gesperrekugeln 16 a locking of the locking balls 16 in the ring grooves 12 is effected. The partial rotations of the adjusting ring 20 can be limited by a groove 23 -pin 24 arrangement ( FIG. 7). For this purpose, the groove 23 is worked into the adjusting ring 20 , while the pin 24 is arranged firmly on the protective sleeve 13 . The partial rotations of the collar 20 are limited by running on the pin 24 to the ends 25 of the groove 23 bar.

To produce a threaded hole, a drill hole 27 must first be made in the bone fragments 7 by means of the twist drill 1 ( FIG. 1) ( FIG. 3). The depth of the borehole 27 is accordingly the displacements of the protective sleeve 5 on the clamping shaft 3 readable. The tissue protection sleeve 5 can also be connected to the twist drill by locking by means of a partial rotation of the adjusting ring 20 and the locking balls 16 fixed in an annular groove 12 , and the borehole depth results from the mechanical support of the tissue protection sleeve 5 ( FIG. 3) on the bone fragments.

Knochenplatten 8 bestimmbar.Subsequent use of the tap 11 makes it possible to produce threads. The depth of the thread can in turn be read by displaceable interaction of the tissue protection sleeve 5 with markings 4 on the clamping shaft 3 , or, when the tissue protection sleeve 5 is locked, can be determined by running on the fragments 7 or bone plates 8 thereof.
