Abstract

An optical switch (10) comprises a base plate (11), a base (12) and a switching portion (15). The base (12) and switching portion (12) support a plurality of light wave conductors (8) which are to be variably connected to each other. To switch the connection of the conductors (8) to a different position the switching portion (15) is moved parallel to the base plate (11) by two pivoted arms (16) each having a hinge (17) at both ends. The base (12), switching portion (15), pivoting arms (16) and hinges (17) are integrally formed from the same material. USE/ADVANTAGE - Any variation in distance between switching portion and base, and hence between two parts of conductors to be connected, due to temp. variation is compensated for. Der in Fig. 1 perspektivisch dargestellte optische Schalter 10 besteht im wesentlichen aus einer Bodenplatte 11, einem Grundkörper 12 und einem Schaltstück 15. Grundkörper 12 und Schaltstück 15 dienen als Träger von Lichtwellenleitern 8, die untereinander unterschiedlich zu verbinden sind. Zu diesem Zweck wird das Schaltstück 15 über zwei Schwenkarme 16 gegen­ über dem Grundkörper 11 parallelgeführt. Für die bewegliche Verbindung sorgen an beiden Enden jedes Schwenkarmes Film­ scharniere 17. Dabei sind Grundkörper 12, Schaltstück 15, Schwenkarme 16 und Filmscharniere 17 materialgleich und ein­ stückig ausgebildet, so daß temperaturbedingte Längenänderungen weitgehend kompensiert werden.The optical switch 10 shown in perspective in FIG. 1 essentially consists of a base plate 11 , a base body 12 and a switching piece 15 .
