Abstract

Process comprises moulding a viscose soln., treating with a precipitating medium and post-treating as usual. The viscose soln. is mixed with a dispersion of polyethylene (PE) wax(es) (II) and opt. evacuated. (II) has mol. wt. 1000-7000, and amt. of (II) is 2-30 wt.% w.r.t. cellulose; an aq. dispersion is used, contg. (II) with particle size 0.1-100 microns; (I) is used as sausage wrapping, and is pref. fibre-reinforced. Pref. a fibre tube is impregnated and coated with PE wax-contg. viscose soln., (II) has mol. wt. 3000-4000 and particle dia. 0.1-0.6 micron, and amt. of (II) is 30-40 wt.% (in the dispersion) and 10-20 wt.% w.r.t. cellulose; pref., the dispersion also contains 70-10 wt.% emulsifier, esp. xanthan and/or ester wax. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides an "easy-peel" tubular wrapping for foods, esp. sausage meat; (I) is easily removed from the sausage without pulling off pieces of meat, but adheres strongly enough to unprocessed sausage to prevent differential shrinkage of meat and wrapping, which otherwise results in a wrinkly prod., deposits of oil and fat, etc.; (I) is not embrittled by addn. of (II), so that no problems arise in stacking and filling "easy peel" properties are based on regenerated cellulose.

Description

The invention relates to a method for Her position of tubular packaging sleeves, preferred wise food casings, with improved peeling Availability (easy peel).

Tubular casings, especially those made from regenerated ones Cellulose, are used as packaging materials for food medium varied in use and become very large Scope for the production of processed meat products such as sausages. Become such Food casings used untreated, so observe one makes sure that the sausage meat is ins especially with boiled sausage, stick too strongly to the casing can. This leads to tearing out during peeling leftovers from the sausage and the demand constant caliber sausage slices for batch slicing too ensure counter.

The sausage casing is not liable for raw sausage production firm enough on the sausage meat, as a result there are partial  Detachment, often associated with an unwanted out formation of an oil film and / or mold Sausage.

Because of the detachment, the food also shrinks no longer cover with the contents, so that the sausage appears wrinkled and unsightly.

To remedy these disadvantages, it is common the inside of the food tubing from rain cellulose with a coating based on water-soluble cellulose ether, a partial ester a fatty acid with sorbitan or mannitol, a water soluble polyalkylene glycol ether or mineral or To provide silicone oil, see US-A-25 58 042, US-A 25 88 367, US-A-31 58 492, US-A-38 98 348 and US-A 41 37 947. In US-A-29 88 451 polyvinylpyrrolidone mentioned in connection with CMC, in US-A-33 83 223 Glutar aldehyde.

DE-A-34 09 746 describes u. a. the use of Rosin, US-A-44 63 778 the use of vinyl acetate polymers. Polyvinyl alcohol and microcrystalline Cellulose combined with a triglyceride mixture is used in accordance with EP-A-00 06 551. Farther are mentioned: starch, chromium fatty acid complex compound formations, non-reactive dialkyl polysiloxane and starch ether in EP-A-01 01 892, DE-A-34 47 026, DE-A 28 41 850.

In EP-A-01 09 611 and DE-A-32 42 655 come out a cellulose ether and / or a starch ether Wax and an oil if applicable.

These interior fittings lead to a low one Liability, but they have some disadvantages. So there is increased oil and fat sales between the sausage meat and Cover open and the intestines tend to turn off. In the In between, there may be mold in raw sausage come. The envelope does not shrink and therefore becomes wrinkled and unsightly. Some coatings lead to embrittlement of the intestine and thus to burst during of the gathering and filling process.

The object of the present invention was therefore to tubular packaging sleeve, preferably a tubular food casing, in particular made of regenerated cellulose, to provide the due to their special equipment for boiled sausages relatively high adhesion between the sausage casing and for this sausage mass provided largely reduced and shows a higher separation effect, so that pull off the sausage casing without great effort leaves. With raw sausage, it should be turned off during the Prevent maturity and counteract oil and fat sales. In addition, the equipment is not said to be embrittling exert on the sleeve material so that such Easily gather and fill food casings Have products processed.

The invention relates to a method for the manufacture a tubular casing based on regenerating ter cellulose with improved peelability Forming a viscose solution into a tubular one Envelope, exposure to a precipitation medium and usual post-treatment action, characterized in that one goes to the Viscose solution the dispersion of at least one poly ethylene wax there, mixed and optionally evacuated.

In a preferred embodiment, the poly Viscose containing ethylene wax through a ring slot Pour nozzle according to the usual technical procedures. In a particularly preferred embodiment fiber-reinforced tubular sleeves based on regenerated Cellulose made by continuing a fiber tube continuously with the viscose containing the polyethylene wax is impregnated and coated. The manufacture ge suitable viscose solutions is, for example, in US-A 32 08 234. The impregnation and coating Treatment of fiber hoses with viscose solution is included described for example in GB-A-13 36 850.

In US-A-38 33 021 and US-A-19 02 529 this is indeed Incorporation of polyethylene wax using Solvents in the viscose described around a matte Get the look of the case. An improvement in Peelability is not specified and will be not reached, see comparative example.

The tubular casing produced according to the invention is in particular a food casing, preferably one Sausage casing.

Among the polyethylene to be used in the present invention wax is understood to be polyethylene, which is a medium Molecular weight from 1000 g / mol to 7000 g / mol before has 3000-4000 g / mol. The polyethylene particles are preferably used in aqueous dispersion, the particles generally having a diameter of 0.1 to 100 microns, preferably between 0.1 and 10 microns, esp preferably have between 0.1 and 0.6 microns.

Die Konzentration der wäßrigen PE-Wachs-Dispersion beträgt im allgemeinen 10 bis 50 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 20 bis 40 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt 30 bis 40 Gew.-%.The concentration of the aqueous PE wax dispersion is generally 10 to 50% by weight, preferably 20 up to 40% by weight, particularly preferably 30 to 40% by weight.

Die Konzentration des Polyethylenwachses bezogen auf die Cellulose beträgt vorzugsweise 2 bis 30 Gew.-%, insbesondere 10-20 Gew.-%.The concentration of the polyethylene wax based on the Cellulose is preferably 2 to 30% by weight, especially 10-20% by weight.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the polyethylene wax dispersion additionally contains an emulsifier. Particularly preferred emulsifiers are xanthan and / or ester waxes. Ester waxes are understood to mean in particular those compounds which consist of esters of fatty acids and fatty alcohols with a chain length between C 24 and C 32 and are predominantly straight-chain.

The amount of the emulsifier is generally 1 to 30 wt .-%, preferably 5 to 20 wt .-%, especially before add 7 to 10 wt .-%, each based on the disperser sion.

Surprisingly, the dispersion can be other additives, such as organic, with aqueous systems miscible solvents, work into the viscose. For the production of tubular packaging casings from regenerated cellulose, which may be fiber reinforced and possibly outside in a known manner can be painted, by extrusion or spinning, becomes the usual, generally known method applied. The fiber-reinforced, if necessary Hose in the last stage of its production koagu regenerated, washed, softened and softened finally dried. The modification according to the invention The viscose can preferably be removed before evacuation respectively. The aqueous dispersion is preferred as a 20 to 40 wt .-%, in particular a 30 to 40% by weight, aqueous dispersion of the PE wax, the also the emulsifier in amounts from generally to contains 20, preferably 7 to 10 wt .-%, in the Vis kose stirred.

As a great advantage over an internal impregnation the immobilization of the wax in the Regenerated cellulose. No additional is required Crosslinker, which prevents the solubility in water or the impregnation film with the cellulose layer anchored. Another big advantage over others  Easy-peel impregnations are excellent incorporated wax. The so equipped Envelope has just enough adhesive power that it during the maturation of a raw sausage without turning it off shrinks, but the finished sausage peels slightly leaves. Oil separation is achieved by the invention armor prevented. There are no fluctuations in detention behave towards the sausage meat, what with an unimpregnated Shell can occur.

Pigmen tierung, anwendbar. The equipment is on cellulose casings, with and without Fiber reinforcement and any coloring or pigments tion, applicable.

Finally, the subject of the invention is that Use of the packaging sleeves according to the invention for Food packaging, in particular sausage meat.
