Abstract

The individual respiration mask spans the patient's nose at nostril level and fits to the face via a hollow, resiliently filled bead part, using gas feedlines and retainer tapes fitted to the main mask. The filling (5) consists of curable, liquid or pasty plastics which sets once adapted to the face contours. Preferably, the filling is applied and released through holes (6,7) at opposite sides of the bead (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - For first aid, resuscitation, or intensive care, with improved face seal, and possible self-application in non-medical usage.

Description

The invention relates to an individual mask according to the Preamble of claim 1.

Such masks known from GB-PS 8 41 104 ( 1 ), the hollow body of which is provided with a closable vent and has a filling made of foam particles, are used not only in medicine for artificial ventilation of patients, but also as protective devices to ensure safety used by people who work in hostile environments. However, these masks can only fulfill their tasks if they fit tightly against the face of the user, since either contaminated air enters the mask space between the edge of the mask and the face in the case of a respiratory mask, or breathing gas escapes through these leaks during artificial respiration. In order to adapt this mask to the face of the user, a slight pressure is exerted on the mask body, as a result of which air escapes from the foam particles via the vent to the atmosphere and then closes the vent. However, the contour of the mask seal obtained in this way is not permanent, since when the mask is removed from the face of the user, ie when the contact body pressure is reduced on the face, a pressure or gas balance takes place between the individual foam particles. In order to achieve a good seal between the mask and the face of the user, ie to maintain the contour of the foam filling in the hollow body, the mask must therefore be pressed against the face with a certain amount of pressure, which impairs its wearing comfort.

To achieve a good seal between the face and the mask edge in another consists of DE-PS 6 58 998 known face mask the filling in Hollow body, the seal between the mask body and face forms, from rubber dust as well as moss or Sponge rubber. This loose filling can be found in the hollow body easy to distribute, allowing adjustment of the Mask seal to the face shape of the user. Disadvantageous is, however, that the permanent form the seal is very low, so that every time you put it on the mask is readjusted must, which is further complicated by the fact that the hollow body in a coat made of leather or rubberized cotton is embedded, which is sewn to the mask body.

A more precise adaptation of a breathing mask to the shape of the face of the user succeeds by making one Imprint form, as described in DE-OS 38 40 436 is. There is a lump of the impression mass the face of the mask user and the Mass molded onto this face. With this procedure there is the problem that the impression mass over a long period of time must harden before by a professional the breathing mask is made using the impression mold can be.

The object of the invention is now to seal an individual mask of the type mentioned at the beginning, d. H. a face or Respiratory mask, so that the mask user even the mask that can be adapted to his face Maintains shape permanently.

This object is achieved on the basis of a Mask of the type described above solved by the features specified in claim 1.

A special embodiment of the invention is specified in the subclaim.

For customizing the mask that is mass-produced according to the invention on the face of the user the hollow body forming the bead with a liquid or pasty plastic that is dimensionally stable and springy then cures, fills and then the mask placed on the face, the still soft plastic and thus the sealing surface of the bead the contour of the face. After the plastic has hardened is therefore designed on a mass product Breathing mask a the bone structure of the face of the Mask user faithful sealing device on such easy way to get that from the mask user too can be molded yourself.

In the case of an appropriate further development of the innovations Mask are on the bead on opposite Two openings on the sides of the mask body as an inlet and outlet when introducing those to be hardened in the hollow body and provided filling to be made of plastic.

An embodiment of the invention will be added Hand drawn drawing depicting a breathing mask is shown in a schematic sectional view.

The breathing mask according to the invention which can be fastened to the head of a patient with retaining straps (not shown) consists of a dimensionally stable mask body 1 with a connecting piece 2 for connecting a breathing glass line (not shown). A hollow body 3 made of an elastic material, preferably rubber, is fastened to the edge 2 of the mask body 1 opposite the nozzle. This hollow body 3 is formed on its edge removed from the mask body 1 as a bead 4 , which rests as a sealing surface on the face of the patient (not shown), and is provided with a filling 5 made of a plastic which is dimensionally stable and resilient in the hardened state. The plastic forming the filling 5 is injected via one of the openings 6 or 7 , which are incorporated into the wall of the hollow body 3 on the bead 4 on opposite sides of the mask body 1 , and before curing by applying the breathing mask to the patient's face Face shape adapted or molded. Via the other of the openings 6 or 7 , the hollow body 3 is vented when the plastic is injected and too much plastic material injected into the hollow body 3 emerges when the breathing mask is adjusted.

The invention is not limited to that shown and described Embodiment limited, but closes for those skilled in the art. So can the plastic not just immediately before the adjustment the mask, but already during its manufacture in the Hollow bodies are introduced and their curing by irradiating e.g. B. activated with UV light.

It is also possible to use the mask plastic introduced into the hollow body a hardener e.g. B. in capsules and curing by Initiate destruction of the capsules.
