Abstract

The three arms of the catheter lie in the two urethra tracts (10), and on into the two kidneys (11), and the bladder (8) in the shape of a Y. It has a central through hole and several drainage holes running from the outside to the lumen of the catheter. There are also holes for accommodating guide wires for guiding into place. The catheter come in a range of different sizes. ADVANTAGE - Assures a safe passageway in the urethra canal and the wires allow for controlling and guiding the tip of the catheter and the capacity of the bladder.

Description

I. PrinzipI. principle

The YJ catheter Fig. 1 (1) can be used to drain urine from the two renal pelvis and ureter ( 10 ) into the bladder ( 8 ). The catheter ( 4 ) is brought up on the occasion of a ureter conduction operation in the two ureters ( 10 ). The Y-piece ( 7 ) bridges the interface between the receiving ureter on one side and the redirected ureter to be received on the other side. The 3 legs of the Y-piece of the catheter both splint the joint and also urine into the bladder ( 8 ). The soft material made of flexible and biocompatible silicone or polyurethane is at the same time radiopaque-proof and consequently enables radiological control of the position, especially during the postoperative healing phase.

II. Derzeitiger Stand der TechnikII. Current state of the art

The anastomosis of the two ureters ( 10 ) end-to-side has always had to be reinforced by two separate ureter splints. The YJ catheter ( 1 ) enables intraoperative insertion with the aid of guide wires, which can be inserted through an opening ( 5 ) and something above the union point. The catheter can be removed endoscopically via the bladder with the aid of a cystoscope.

III. Nachteile der bisher bekannten MethodenIII. Disadvantages of the previously known methods

The position of the catheters is often difficult, especially in the conductive urethra. The new YJ catheter ( 1 ) can be easily inserted into the two ureter parts ( 10 ) to be combined. The ends ( 6 ) roll up in the kidney basin ( 11 ). This prevents it from sliding out of the ureters. The lower, single-track section also has a rolling tip, which prevents the catheter in the bladder ( 8 ) from sliding out into the urethra itself.

IV. Beschreibung der NeuerungIV. Description of the innovation

Via the intraoperatively one-sided (4) and one-sided lateral (5) opened ureter, the arm of the YJ catheter ar armed with a guide suture are advanced into the two kidney pelvis ( 11 ). The guide wire enables safe control of the tip ( 4 ) of the Y catheter ( 1 ). The Y-piece ( 9 ) supports the anastomosis, in the area in which it comes to rest. At the same time, the urine is discharged through drainage holes ( 3 ) via the terminal section derived into the bladder ( 8 ). X-ray checks are possible at any time. The catheter ( 1 ) is removed cystoscopically.

V. Vorteile der NeuerungV. Advantages of the innovation

Safe urinary diversion and inexpensive splinting of the union place between the end-to-side parts of the ureteral anastomosis.

Controllability of the tip ( 4 ) of the catheter by means of guide wires and possibility of removal via the urinary bladder ( 8 ).
