Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Packung für das Aufgeben über eine chronische Wunde und insbesondere die Packung zur Verwendung mit einem Vakuumverband, der an eine Vakuumquelle gekoppelt ist. Ein Vakuumverband, der dem Oberbegriff von Anspruch 1 entspricht, ist beispielsweise in
US 2001/0043943 - Gaze oder im Handel erhältliche Schaumpackung wird typischerweise zum Bedecken einer Wunde verwendet. Ein Beispiel ist der ALLEVYN®-Hohlraumwundverband, der von Smith & Nephew erhältlich ist. Dieser spezifische Wundverband wird aus einem Polyurethanschaum hergestellt. Gaze wird oft zum Absorbieren von Flüssigkeit und Exsudat, das auf der Oberfläche der Wunde vorliegt, verwendet.
- ZUSAMMENFASSUNG DER ERFINDUNG
- Die vorliegende Erfindung umfasst eine oder mehrere der folgenden charakteristischen Merkmale oder Kombinationen derselben:
Es werden ein Verband zur Verwendung bei einer Wunde und eine Vakuumquelle bereitgestellt. Der Verband umfasst ein Wundauflageelement mit einer die Wunde kontaktierenden Oberfläche und einer zur Kommunikation mit der Vakuumquelle konfigurierte Anschlussstelle. Das Element umfasst des Weiteren Löcher, die in der die Wunde kontaktierenden Oberfläche gebildet und zur Kommunikation mit der Wundoberfläche der Wunde konfiguriert sind. Das Element umfasst einen Durchgang zwischen der Anschlussstelle und jedem Loch. Die Kombination kann des Weiteren eine an die Oberseite des Elements gekoppelte Packung umfassen. Die Packung kann veranschaulichend eine Öffnung umfassen, die um die Anschlussstelle des Elements positioniert ist. Ein Konnektor des Elements kann innerhalb der Öffnung aufgenommen werden. - In veranschaulichenden Ausführungsformen umfasst die Packung des Weiteren eine Unterseite, eine Oberseite, eine Seitenwand, die sich von der Oberseite bis zur Unterseite erstreckt, und einen Schlitz, der in Kommunikation mit der Öffnung steht. Der Schlitz wird durch ersten und zweiten sich gegenüberliegenden Innenflächen definiert, die sich von der Oberseite der Packung bis zur Unterseite und von der Öffnung bis zur Seitenwand erstrecken. Die veranschaulichende Packung umfasst des Weiteren eine Klebeschicht, die an die Unterseite der Packung zum Koppeln der Packung an die Oberseite des Elements gekoppelt ist. Die Packung kann entweder aus offenzelligem oder geschlossenzelligem Schaumstoff bestehen.
- Das Element kann im Allgemeinen nicht komprimierbar und aus Silikon von medizinischer Güte hergestellt sein. Das Element kann des Weiteren einen Konnektor umfassen, der an die Oberseite des Elements gekoppelt ist. Ein derartiger Konnektor kann innerhalb der Öffnung der Packung aufgenommen und zur Kommunikation mit der Anschlussstelle des Elements und der Vakuumquelle konfiguriert sein.
- Andere Merkmale der Offenbarung werden dem Fachmann auf die Betrachtung der folgenden genauen Beschreibung der bevorzugten Ausführungsformen hin, die durch den besten Modus der Durchführung der Offenbarung, wie gegenwärtig verstanden, beispielhaft dargestellt sind, offensichtlich werden.
- KURZE BESCHREIBUNG DER ZEICHNUNGEN
- Die genaue Beschreibung betrifft insbesondere die beiliegenden Figuren, in denen:

1 eine teilweise perspektivische, teilweise grafische Ansicht eines Wundpflegeverbands zeigt, die den Wundpflegeverband am Bein eines Patienten positioniert und sowohl an eine Vakuum- als auch eine Irrigationsquelle durch Verwendung eines Schaltventils gekoppelt zeigt; -
2 eine vergrößerte perspektivische Ansicht des Wundpflegeverbands von1 , die den Verband über einem Wundbett positioniert zeigt und eine Wundkontaktierschicht und eine Bedeckung umfasst, die unter Bildung eines Wundauflageelements zum Positionieren innerhalb des Wundbetts kooperieren, und außerdem eine Schaumpackung für das Positionieren neben die Bedeckung und eine Abdichtfolie zum Bedecken der Schaumpackung und des Elements, um sie abdichtend um die Wunde zu legen, zeigt; -
3 eine perspektivische Ansicht der Schaumpackung des Verbands, die die Packung als eine mittlere Öffnung und einen Schlitz aufweisend zeigt, der in Kommunikation mit der Öffnung steht, und des Weiteren die Packung als eine klebefähige Unterseite aufweisend zum Verkoppeln mit einer Oberseite der Bedeckung zeigt; -
4 eine Schnittansicht des Verbands zeigt, der das neben der Wunde liegende Element, die neben der Bedeckung des Elements liegende Packung und eine Vakuumröhre zeigt, die innerhalb der Öffnung der Packung zum Verkoppeln der Bedeckung des Elements aufgenommen ist und des Weiteren die versiegelnde Folie zeigt, die über der Packung und der Röhre positioniert ist, um die gesunde Haut des Patienten um die Wunde herum abzuschließen; -
5 eine perspektivische Ansicht zeigt, die die Schaumpackung des Verbands, die Bedeckung des Elements und einen horizontalen Konnektor des Elements zeigt, der an das Element gekoppelt ist, um innerhalb der Öffnung der Schaumpackung aufgenommen zu werden; und -
6 eine perspektivische Ansicht zeigt, die die Schaumpackung neben dem Verband zeigt und des Weiteren den horizontalen Konnektor des Elements zeigt, der innerhalb der Öffnung der Packung aufgenommen ist und die Vakuumröhre zeigt, die mit dem Konnektor verbunden und innerhalb des Schlitzes der Packung aufgenommen ist. - GENAUE BESCHREIBUNG DER ZEICHNUNGEN
- Es wird ein Wundpflegeverband
10 zur Verwendung mit einer Vakuum- und Irrigationsquelle12 ,14 , wie in1 gezeigt, bereitgestellt. Eine veranschaulichende Vakuum- und Irrigationsquelle12 ,14 ist in der US-Patentveröffentlichung Nr.US 2002/0161317 A1 US-Patentschrift Nr. 6,458,109 offenbart, die beide im Besitz des Rechtsnachfolgers der vorliegenden Anmeldung stehen. - Der Verband
10 unterstützt das Heilen einer großen Wunde16 (in1 und4 gezeigt) durch Bereitstellen einer Vakuumtherapie für die Wunde16 zum Unterstützen der Blutströmung und Entfernen des Exsudats von einer Wundfläche18 der Wunde und durch Bereitstellen von Spülung der Wunde16 mit Fluiden wie beispielsweise physiologischer Kochsalzlösung. - Wie in
2 gezeigt, umfasst ein Wundpflegeverband10 ein dünnes, flexibles Wundauflageelement19 . Veranschaulichende Wundauflageelemente sind in derUS-Patentveröffentlichung Nr. US 2002/0082567 A1 - Der Verband
10 umfasst auch eine Schaumpackung30 über und neben dem Element19 , wie in2 und4 gezeigt. Die Packung30 liegt auf dem Element19 auf und umfasst eine Öffnung32 für das Aufnehmen einer Vakuumröhre34 . Wie in4 gezeigt, ist ein Ende der Vakuumröhre34 an das Element19 gekoppelt und wie in1 gezeigt ist das andere Ende der Röhre34 an die Vakuumquelle12 und/oder die Irrigationsquelle14 gekoppelt. Der Verband10 umfasst des Weiteren eine Folie40 , die über das Element19 gelegt wird, die Packung30 und die Röhre34 , die an der gesunden Haut42 eines Patienten um die Wunde16 herum befestigt wird. Die Packung30 nimmt einen Raum zwischen der Folie40 des Verbands10 und dem Element19 ein. - Das Element
19 des Verbands10 besteht aus Silikon von medizinischer Güte oder einem anderen Typ Elastomer, das biegbar ist. Zwei Firmen, die beispielsweise derartiges Silikon von medizinischer Güte herstellen, sind GE Silikones und NuSil Technology. Es liegt jedoch innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, ein Wundauflageelement einzuschließen, das aus irgendeinem Typ dünnen flexiblen Materials hergestellt ist, das nicht porös und nicht schaumstoffähnlich ist. Dieses dünne flexible Material ist auch im Allgemeinen nicht absorptionsfähig. Beispielsweise können Materialien wie Polyvinylchlorid (PVC), von Diethylhexylphthalat freies PVC (DEHP-freies PVC), Polyurethan oder Polyethylen bei der Herstellung des Elements19 verwendet werden. - Des Weiteren kann das Element
19 so geformt werden, dass es antimikrobielle Bestandteile umfasst. Beispielsweise liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, das Element19 mit Silberionen zu imprägnieren, bei denen es sich um bekannte antimikrobielle Mittel handelt. Das Element19 wird auch im Allgemeinen aus nichtklebefähigem Material hergestellt. Daher haftet das Element19 nicht an der Wundfläche18 . Des Weiteren ist das Element19 fester Natur und im Allgemeinen nicht komprimierbar. Beispielsweise bleibt, wenn ein negativer Druck auf das Element19 aufgebracht wird, eine Dicke20 des Elements19 , wie in4 gezeigt, relativ konstant. Des Weiteren ist das Element19 im Allgemeinen transparent, um es einem Pfleger zu ermöglichen, die Wunde16 durch das Element19 hindurch zu sehen, wenn das Element19 neben der Wundfläche18 aufgebracht wird. Diese Transparenz erlaubt es dem Pfleger, das Fortschreiten der Heilung der Wunde16 zu sehen. Obwohl die Packung30 über das Element19 positioniert wird, wodurch ein Pfleger am Betrachten der Wundfläche18 gehindert wird, ist die Packung entfernbar und austauschbar, ohne das Element19 von der Wundfläche18 entfernen zu müssen, wie unten beschrieben. Daher ist das Fortschreiten der Heilung der Wunde16 durch das Element19 einsehbar, wenn der Pfleger die Packung30 vom Element19 entfernt hat, um es durch eine neue Packung30 zu ersetzen. - Wie in
2 gezeigt, besitzt das Wundauflageelement19 veranschaulichend eine viereckige Gestalt. Jedoch liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, dass das Element19 irgendeine geeignete Gestalt aufweist. Des Weiteren kann das Element19 zugeschnitten werden, um auf eine Wunde16 irgendeiner Größe zu passen. Das Element19 umfasst die Kombination einer Wundkontaktierschicht22 und einer Bedeckung24 . Das Element19 umfasst auch einen Konnektor26 , der an die Bedeckung24 zur Kommunikation mit der Vakuumquelle12 und/oder der Irrigationsquelle14 gekoppelt ist. Es liegt auch innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, dass der Konnektor26 integral mit der Bedeckung24 gebildet wird oder ein getrenntes Stück ist, das an der Bedeckung24 befestigt wird. - Die Schicht
22 umfasst eine Wundkontaktierfläche50 und eine Ober- oder gegenüberliegende Seite52 . Die Wundkontaktierfläche50 oder Teile derselben kontaktiert und schmiegt sich im Allgemeinen an die Wundfläche18 an. Die gegenüberliegende Seite 52 umfasst einen mittleren Bereich54 und mehrere Kanäle56 , die sich radial vom mittleren Bereich54 hinweg erstrecken, wie in2 gezeigt. Der mittlere Bereich54 ist mit Bezug auf die Teile der Oberseite52 zwischen Kanälen56 versenkt. Wie in2 und4 gezeigt, sind die Kanäle56 an den Seiten und Enden des Elements19 offen. Die gegenüberliegende Seite52 umfasst des Weiteren konzentrische Kanäle58 . Der mittlere Bereich54 ist bereitgestellt, um mit der Vakuumquelle12 und der Irrigationsquelle14 durch eine Anschlussöffnung60 der Bedeckung24 , wie unten beschrieben, zu kommunizieren. - Mehrere, sich radial erstreckende Vorsprünge oder Nocken
62 sind um den mittleren Bereich54 positioniert. Die Nocken62 sind zwischen dem mittleren Bereich54 und Kanälen56 ,58 , wie in2 gezeigt, positioniert. Die Nocken62 verhindern das Einfallen des mittleren Bereichs54 auf die Anschlussstelle60 der Bedeckung24 und das Bilden einer unerwünschten Versiegelung, die die Luftströmung durch die Anschlussstelle60 effektiv blockieren würde, während eine Absaugung auf den Verband10 aufgebracht wird. Die Anschlussstelle60 steht in Kommunikation mit der Vakuumquelle12 und/oder der Irrigationsquelle14 durch den Konnektor26 und die Röhre34 , wie in2 gezeigt. Wie oben erwähnt, steht die Anschlussstelle60 in Kommunikation mit dem mittleren Bereich54 der Schicht22 . - Veranschaulichend sind vier Nocken
62 in2 gezeigt. Jedoch liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, irgendeine Anzahl von Nocken62 oder dergleichen um den mittleren Bereich54 der Schicht22 bereitzustellen, um den mittleren Bereich54 daran zu hindern, die Anschlussstelle60 der Bedeckung24 abzuschließen, während eine Absaugung auf den Verband10 aufgebracht wird. Des Weiteren liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, eine Nocke oder Nocken62 einzuschließen, die irgendeine Gestalt aufweist bzw. aufweisen, die den mittleren Bereich54 daran hindert bzw. hindern, die Anschlussstelle60 zu verschließen, wenn eine Absaugung auf den Verband10 aufgebracht wird. - Der Konnektor
26 ist, wie in2 und3 gezeigt, eine röhrenförmige Anschlussstelle, die mit einer Oberseite70 der Bedeckung24 gekoppelt ist und mit einer Anschlussstelle60 der Bedeckung24 in Kommunikation steht. Wie oben erwähnt, liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, dass der Konnektor26 eine einzelne Komponente des Elements19 ist, die mit der Bedeckung24 gekoppelt ist, oder der Konnektor26 integral mit der Bedeckung24 geformt ist. Der Konnektor26 umfasst einen vertikalen Durchgang27 . Der Konnektor26 verbindet die Röhre34 , um eine vertikale Röhrenbefestigung mit Bezug auf die Anschlussstelle60 bereitzustellen. Der vertikale Konnektor26 wird innerhalb der Öffnung32 der Packung30 aufgenommen. Wie oben erwähnt, liegt es jedoch innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, ein Element19 einzuschließen, das nur die Schicht22 und die Bedeckung24 ohne beispielsweise einen Konnektor26 aufweist. Bei einem derartigen Beispiel wird die Röhre34 direkt mit der Abdeckung24 zur direkten Kommunikation mit der Anschlussstelle60 gekoppelt. Die Bedeckung24 umfasst eine Unterseite68 und eine Oberseite70 , wie in2 gezeigt. Die Unterseite68 greift in die entgegengesetzte Seite52 der Schicht22 , wie in4 gezeigt, ein. - In einigen Ausführungsformen wird das Element
19 durch Hitzeversiegeln der entgegengesetzten Fläche52 der Schicht22 und der Unterseite68 der Bedeckung24 miteinander und durch Hitzeversiegeln des Konnektors26 an die Oberseite70 der Bedeckung24 hergestellt. Jedes, und zwar der Konnektor26 , die Bedeckung24 (oder die Kombination von Bedeckung24 und Konnektor26 ) und die Schicht22 können vorgeformt und aus halbausgehärtetem Silikon gebildet werden. Sobald der Konnektor26 , die Bedeckung24 und die Schicht22 auf geeignete Weise zusammengebracht werden, kann das gesamte Element19 zum Hitzeversiegeln und Aushärten einer jeden der drei Komponenten aneinander erhitzt werden. Alternativ kann beispielsweise nur die Bedeckung24 aus halbausgehärtetem Silikon hergestellt werden, während der Konnektor26 und die Schicht22 aus vollständig ausgehärtetem Silikon hergestellt werden. Sobald sie zusammengebracht und erhitzt werden, werden der Konnektor26 und die Schicht22 an die Abdeckung24 durch Hitzeversiegeln angebracht. Das halbausgehärtete Silikon kann von einem Hersteller wie beispielsweise NuSil Technology erworben und vorgeformt werden. Obwohl das Verfahren des Hitzeversiegelns der Bedeckung24 , des Konnektors26 und der Schicht22 aneinander offenbart ist, liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, das Element19 durch Zusammenkoppeln der Schicht22 , der Bedeckung24 und des Konnektors26 durch irgendeine andere geeignete Möglichkeit, wie beispielsweise durch Verwendung von Klebstoffen, zu bilden. Des Weiteren liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, ein Element19 bereitzustellen, wobei die Bedeckung24 neben der Schicht22 liegt, jedoch nicht an sie gekoppelt ist. - Wie oben erwähnt, wird die Abdeckung
24 an die Schicht22 gekoppelt und der Konnektor26 wird an die Abdeckung24 gekoppelt, um das Element19 zu bilden. Die Abdeckung24 und die Schicht22 kooperieren, um einzelne Durchgänge72 des Elements19 (wie in4 gezeigt) zu bilden, die durch Kanäle56 ,58 der Schicht22 und der Unterseite68 der Bedeckung24 definiert werden. Die Durchgänge72 stehen in Kommunikation mit dem mittleren Bereich54 der Schicht22 und der mittlere Bereich64 der Schicht22 steht in Kommunikation mit der Anschlussstelle60 der Bedeckung24 , die in Kommunikation mit den Vakuum- und/oder Irrigationsquellen12 ,14 durch den Konnektor26 und die Röhre34 stehen. Daher stehen die Durchgänge72 in Kommunikation mit den Vakuum- und/oder Irrigationsquellen12 ,14 . - Die Schicht
22 umfasst durchgehende Löcher74 , die sich von den Kanälen56 ,58 , durch die Schicht22 zur Wundkontaktierfläche50 , wie in2 gezeigt, erstrecken. Bei den Löchern74 handelt es sich um einzelne Löcher und sie werden zum Kommunizieren mit den Kanälen56 ,58 der Schicht22 bereitgestellt. Die Löcher74 stehen daher in Kommunikation mit den Durchgängen72 des Elements19 sowie den Vakuum- und/oder Irrigationsquellen12 ,14 , um zu erlauben, dass die Absaugung von der Vakuumquelle12 und/oder das Fluid von der Irrigationsquelle14 die Wundfläche18 durch die Löcher74 erreicht. Veranschaulichend weisen die Löcher74 einen Durchmesser von 0,020 Zoll (0,508 mm) auf und liegen etwa 0,500 Zoll (12,700 mm) voneinander den Kanälen56 ,58 der Schicht22 entlang entfernt. Es liegt jedoch innerhalb des Umfangs der Offenbarung, Löcher einzuschließen, die andere Durchmesser geeigneter Größe und/oder andere geeignete Abstände aufweisen, die die Entfernung von Exsudat ohne Verstopfen erlauben. - Das veranschaulichende Element
19 des Verbands10 umfasst eine glatte Wundkontaktierfläche50 , wie in2 gezeigt. Die Wundkontaktierfläche50 kann auch gerippt, texturiert oder aufgeraut sein. Durch Ausstatten des Elements19 mit einer gerippten, texturierten oder aufgerauten Oberfläche wird Raum zwischen der Oberfläche50 der Schicht22 und der Wundfläche18 gebildet. Die durchgehenden Löcher74 stehen in Kommunikation mit diesem Raum, der es der Vakuumquelle12 gestattet, ein im Allgemeinen gleichförmig verteiltes Vakuum oder einen im Allgemeinen gleichmäßig verteilten negativen Druck auf die Wundfläche18 aufzubringen, um Blut vom Körper zur Wundfläche18 zu ziehen und Exsudat von der Wunde16 durch die Löcher74 in die Kanäle56 ,58 und Durchgänge72 und aus der Anschlussstelle60 der Abdeckung24 herauszuziehen. Es liegt innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, andere Möglichkeiten zum Bereitstellen eines Raums zwischen der Oberfläche50 und der Wundfläche18 , wie beispielsweise Rippen, Vorsprünge, Kanäle, Abstandhalter usw. bereitzustellen. - Das Vakuum oder der negative Druck, die Blut aus dem Körper zur Wundfläche
18 ziehen und Exsudat von der Wunde16 durch das Element19 ziehen, unterstützt das Heilen der Wunde16 . Während des Heilens der Wunde16 bilden sich Granulationen der Wundfläche18 entlang. Die Granulationen sind daher der Ersatz für verlorenes Gewebe innerhalb des Wundbetts. Während die Granulationen das Wundbett füllen, wobei die Wunde16 zum Heilen gebracht wird, reitet das Element19 auf die Wundfläche18 oben auf den Granulationen, die gebildet werden, hinauf. - Obwohl der veranschaulichende Verband
10 eine mittlere Anschlussstelle60 umfasst, liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, mehrere Anschlussstellen einzuschließen. Um auf Wunden verschiedener Größe16 zu passen, kann das Element19 zugeschnitten werden, um auf eine bestimmte Wunde16 zu passen. Des Weiteren umfassen einige Ausführungsformen des Elements19 Maßeinteilungen. Die Maßeinteilungen zeigen Bereiche an, wo ein Pfleger das Element19 zuschneiden kann, um auf eine spezifische Wunde16 zu passen. Des Weiteren können Maßeinteilungen Messgrößen anzeigen, beispielsweise um es einem Pfleger zu erlauben, das Element19 zuzuschneiden, um auf eine vorher gemessene Wunde16 zu passen. Um verschiedenen Typen und Platzierungen auf Wunden von Patienten Rechnung zu tragen, liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, ein Element oder Elemente in verschiedenen passenden Gestalten und Größen, die für die Behandlung chronischer Wunden beispielsweise an der Ferse, dem Bauch oder dem Brustbein eines Patienten passen, einzuschließen. - Ein Schaltventil
76 wird veranschaulichend, wie in1 gezeigt, bereitgestellt, um es einem Benutzer zu erlauben, zwischen der Anwendung der Vakuumquelle12 und der Irrigationsquelle14 umzuschalten. Man wird sich im Klaren darüber sein, dass ein Mechanismus, bei dem es sich nicht um ein Schaltventil76 handelt, selektiv zum Koppeln der Vakuumquelle oder der Irrigationsquelle an den Verband verwendet werden kann. Einfache Röhrenklemmen können beispielsweise selektiv zum Öffnen und Schließen des Röhrensatzes, der mit dem Verband10 bereitgestellt wird, verwendet werden. Wenn das Ventil76 umgeschaltet wird, um die Vakuumquelle12 zu betreiben, zieht die Vakuumabsaugung Exsudat durch die Löcher74 herauf und radial durch die Durchgänge72 nach innen auf die Anschlussöffnung60 zu und schließlich durch die Röhre34 . - Die Vakuum-/Irrigationsröhre
34 erstreckt sich über die Kante der Packung30 und von unterhalb der Kante der Versiegelungsfolie40 heraus. Bei der praktischen Anwendung liefert die Irrigationsquelle14 Flüssigkeit durch die Röhre34 und die Anschlussstelle60 der Bedeckung24 und in die Durchgänge72 des Elements19 . Das Fluid bewegt sich radial durch die Durchgänge72 zu den Löchern74 heraus. Das Fluid bewegt sich dann durch die Löcher74 hinunter, um auf die Wundfläche18 aufzutreffen. - Wie oben beschrieben, umfasst der Verband
10 die Schaumpackung30 . Die Schaumpackung umfasst eine Oberseite80 und eine Unterseite82 . Veranschaulichend weist die Schaumpackung30 eine rechteckige Form und eine Größe auf, um auf das Element19 zu passen. Ein Klebstoff84 kann auf die Unterseite82 , wie in3 gezeigt, aufgebracht werden. In einigen Ausführungsformen wird ein Klebstoff auf Silikonbasis auf der Unterseite82 bereitgestellt. Die Packung30 kann auf Dauer oder zeitweilig auf der Oberfläche80 des Elements19 befestigt werden, um als Hohlraumfüllstoff für den Verband10 zu wirken. Beispielsweise bilden chronische Wunden, wie beispielsweise die Wunde16 , oft eine tiefe Aushöhlung. Die Schaumpackung30 wird oben auf das Element19 gegeben, um die Aushöhlung, die durch die Wunde gebildet wird, im Wesentlichen zu füllen. Bei Ausführungsformen, bei denen die Packung30 zeitweilig am Element19 befestigt oder darauf gegeben wird, kann die Packung durch einen Pfleger entfernt und ersetzt werden, ohne das Element19 ersetzen zu müssen. - Wie oben erwähnt umfasst die Packung
30 eine Öffnung32 , die sich von der Oberseite80 bis zur Unterseite82 erstreckt. Veranschaulichend ist die Öffnung30 mittig positioniert, um den Konnektor26 aufzunehmen, der mittig auf der Bedeckung24 des Elements19 positioniert ist. Es liegt innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, dass die Packung30 eine Öffnung aufweist, die nicht mittig positioniert ist, vorausgesetzt, dass die Öffnung entweder mit einem Konnektor des Elements19 oder mit einer Anschlussstelle der Bedeckung des Elements19 kooperiert. Wie in4 gezeigt, wird der Konnektor26 innerhalb der Öffnung32 der Packung30 aufgenommen. Ein Teil der Vakuumröhre34 wird ebenfalls innerhalb der Öffnung32 aufgenommen und mit dem Konnektor26 gekoppelt. - Wie in
2 und3 gezeigt, umfasst die Packung30 des Weiteren einen Schlitz86 . Der Schlitz86 wird durch erste und zweite sich gegenüberliegende Innenflächen90 ,92 definiert, die sich jeweils von der Oberseite80 bis zur Unterseite82 erstrecken und jeweils in Kommunikation mit der Öffnung32 stehen. Die Seiten90 ,92 erstrecken sich des Weiteren von der Öffnung32 bis zu einer Seitenwand88 , wie in2 und3 gezeigt. Der Schlitz86 bietet einen Eingang für die Röhre34 . Der Schlitz86 erlaubt es der Packung30 , ohne Weiteres vom Verband10 entfernt und ersetzt zu werden, ohne die Röhre34 vom Konnektor26 oder der Anschlussstelle60 trennen zu müssen. Beim Entfernen der Packung30 vom Element19 wird die Röhre34 durch den Schlitz86 von der Öffnung32 zur Seitenwand88 geschoben. Wenn eine neue Packung30 auf das Element19 gelegt wird, wird die Röhre34 durch den Schlitz86 von der Seitenwand88 bis zur Öffnung32 geschoben, um ein Ende der Röhre34 innerhalb der Öffnung32 aufzulegen. Weil die Packung30 vom Element19 getrennt ersetzt werden kann, ist das Element19 in der Lage, auf der Wundfläche18 länger zu verbleiben. - Bei einer alternativen Ausführungsform, die in
5 und6 gezeigt ist, ist ein horizontaler Konnektor126 mit der Abdeckung26 gekoppelt. Der horizontale Konnektor126 umfasst einen vertikalen Durchgang127 , der mit einem horizontalen Durchgang129 verbunden ist. Der horizontale Konnektor126 bietet eine horizontale Befestigung für die Vakuumröhre34 statt der vertikalen Befestigung, die in2 und4 gezeigt ist. Der horizontale Konnektor126 ist mit der Abdeckung24 auf die gleiche Weise wie der Konnektor26 gekoppelt und steht mit der Anschlussstelle60 der Abdeckung24 in Kommunikation. Wenn die Schaumpackung30 an die Abdeckung24 gekoppelt oder neben ihr positioniert ist, wie in6 gezeigt, wird das horizontale Element126 innerhalb der Öffnung32 der Packung30 aufgenommen. Des Weiteren wird die Röhre34 vollständig oder teilweise innerhalb des Schlitzes86 der Packung aufgenommen, wenn die Röhre34 mit dem Konnektor126 verkoppelt ist. - Es liegt innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, dass die Schaumpackung
30 durchlöchert ist, um das spezifische Anpassen der Größe des Schaumstoffs an die Wundhöhle, ohne Scheren zu benutzen, zu erleichtern. Des Weiteren umfasst die Schaumpackung30 offenzellige oder geschlossenzellige Typen Schaumstoff. Beispielsweise liegt es innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, eine Schaumpackung30 einzuschließen, die aus hydrophobem oder hydrophilem Polyurethanschaumstaff oder Polyvinylalkoholschaumstoff hergestellt ist. - Wie oben erwähnt, umfasst der Verband
10 die Versiegelungsschicht oder die Versiegelungsfolie40 , die über die Packung30 und um die Röhre34 , wie in2 und4 gezeigt, positioniert wird. Die Folie40 kann wesentlich größer sein als die Wunde16 oder das Element19 und die Packung30 , um eine effektive Versiegelung um das Element19 und die Wunde16 bereitzustellen. Die Folie40 wird zum Bedecken der gesamten Wunde16 bereitgestellt und um sich über und um die Röhre34 bis zur gesunden Haut42 des Patienten, wie in1 gezeigt, zu erstrecken und daran befestigt zu werden. Bevorzugt ist die Folie40 ein okklusives oder halbokklusives Material, das es Wasserdampf erlaubt, hindurchzudringen. Aufgrund dieser charakteristischen Eigenschaft wird die Folie40 als Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeitsfolie oder MVTR-Folie bezeichnet. Die Produkte TEGADERM®-Versiegelungsfolie, die von 3M Corporation hergestellt wird, und OPSITE FLEXIGRID®, die von Smith & Nephew hergestellt wird, können beispielsweise für die Folie40 verwendet werden. Das Produkt OPSITE FLEXIGRID® ist eine halbdurchlässige Folie. Die Folie40 ist etwa 0,003 Zoll (0,076 mm) dick; es liegt jedoch innerhalb des Umfangs dieser Offenbarung, eine okklusive oder halbokklusive Folie40 , die andere Dicken aufweist, einzuschließen. Die Folie40 wird bereitgestellt, um eine versiegelte Umgebung unter dem Film40 und um die Wunde16 herum bereitzustellen, in der ein Vakuum oder ein negativer Druck, wie es bzw. er durch eine Vakuumquelle12 bereitgestellt wird, aufrechterhalten werden kann.
Claims (12)
- Vakuumverband (
10 ), der an eine Vakuumquelle (12 ) anschließbar ist und zur Anwendung bei einer Wunde mit einer Wundoberfläche bereitgestellt ist, wobei der Verband Folgendes umfasst: ein Wundauflageelement (19 ) mit einer die Wunde kontaktierenden Oberfläche (50 ), eine Oberseite (70 ), dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Wundauflageelement eine zur Kommunikation mit der Vakuumquelle (12 ) konfigurierte Anschlussstelle aufweist, Löcher (74 ) in der die Wunde kontaktierenden Oberfläche (50 ), die zur Kommunikation mit einer Wundoberfläche der Wunde konfiguriert sind und einen Durchgang (72 ) zwischen der Anschlussstelle (60 ) und jedem Loch (74 ), und eine an die Oberseite des Elements angrenzende Packung, wobei die Packung eine um die Anschlussstelle herum positionierte Öffnung einschließt. - Verband nach Anspruch 1, worin die Packung weiter eine Klebeschicht zur Befestigung der Packung auf der Oberseite des Wundauflageelements einschließt.
- Verband nach Anspruch 2, worin das Element im Allgemeinen nicht komprimierbar ist und die Packung im Allgemeinen komprimierbar ist.
- Verband nach Anspruch 3, worin das Element aus einem Silikon von medizinischer Güte hergestellt wird und die Packung schaumstoffartig ist.
- Verband nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 4, worin die Packung vom Element entfernbar ist, während das Element an die Vakuumquelle (
12 ) gekoppelt bleibt. - Verband (
10 ) nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, worin die Packung Folgendes einschließt: eine Unterseite, eine Oberseite, eine Seitenwand, die sich von der Oberseite bis zur Unterseite erstreckt, und einen Schlitz, der in Kommunikation mit der Öffnung ist und sich von der Oberseite bis zur Unterseite und von der Öffnung bis zur Seitenwand erstreckt. - Verband (
10 ) nach Anspruch 6, worin die Packung einen offenzelligen Schaumstoff darstellt. - Verband (
10 ) nach Anspruch 6, worin die Packung einen geschlossenzelligen Schaumstoff darstellt. - Packung nach Anspruch 8 wie von einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 5 abhängig, worin der Klebstoff auf Silikon basiert.
- Verband (
10 ) nach Anspruch 1, worin die Packung entfernbar an das Element gekoppelt ist. - Verband (
10 ) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, der weiter ein von der Öffnung der Schaumstoffpackung aufgenommenes Rohr umfasst, das an die Anschlussstelle des Elements gekoppelt ist und zum Koppeln an die Vakuumquelle konfiguriert ist, und eine Deckfolie, die das Rohr, die Schaumstoffpackung und das Element bedeckt und zum Koppeln an die die Wunde umgebende gesunde Haut des Patienten konfiguriert ist. - Verband (
10 ) nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, worin das Element weiter einen Konnektor einschließt, der an einer Oberseite des Elements und in Kommunikation mit der Anschlussstelle des Elements gekoppelt ist, und worin der Konnektor in der Öffnung der Packung angeordnet ist.
