Description
As is well known, multiple reception serves to eliminate signs of loss. One type of multiple reception is so-called frequency low-frequency reception, in which the same message is sent out on different radio frequencies and on the receiving side the high frequency with the larger reception amplitude is selected automatically. The frequency multiple reception is carried out either in the form that the same Message simultaneously on different carrier frequencies or when receiving telegraphy on different lonfrequenzen with which the carrier frequency is modulated, sent and is received.
The invention shows a new multiple reception process which can be used characterized by particular simplicity.
According to the method according to the invention, a single transmitter is with two sidebands received in such a way that from the two sidebands of the On the receiving end of the transmitter, only the sideband with the larger one is automatically activated Reception amplitude is selected.
The invention makes use of the known fact that the message content is completely contained in each sideband and that a single sideband reception is therefore already possible. The single-sideband reception of a double-sideband transmitter is known per se (German Patent No. 673 120).
The invention results in the advantage of receiving telephony that a multiple frequency reception is possible with the reception of a single transmitter is. When receiving telegraphs, you only need to send with a single tone frequency, or you get a higher transmission security when sending with several tone frequencies.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the schematic illustration. A normal double-sideband receiver, generally a heterodyne receiver, is designated by E. If he has a high intermediate frequency of z. B. i MHz, it is useful to superimpose a lower intermediate frequency, z. B. 1:20 kHZ, since the two sidebands can be better separated from each other at lower frequencies. If no quartz filters but coil filters are to be used, the intermediate frequency must be even lower, e.g. B. to 40 kHz. The two filters are forming in the waste with H (high pass filter) and T (low pass filter), respectively. These filters expediently suppress not only the one sideband, but also the carrier, since this is added again during demodulation in a manner known per se for single sideband reception. The demodulation takes place in the manner known for single sideband reception in the rectifier stages D, and D, in which the carrier frequency generated in the generator G of z. B. i2o kHz is added. This carrier frequency can, as the dashed connecting line indicate, be obtained from the received carrier by amplification and amplitude limitation (for the purpose of eliminating shrinkage) or by taking along an oscillator.
The automatic selection of the louder channel happens z. B. by means of a relay R, which is fed with a DC voltage which is obtained by mutually opposing the DC voltages obtained by rectifying the low-frequency spalings of the two channels. Finally, the low frequency is amplified in the low frequency amplifier N and then fed to the reproducing device.
The process of the invention can also be used simultaneously with other multiple processes, e.g. B. together with the multiple spatial reception method, in which several spatially separated antennas with associated receivers receive the same message and the receiver with the higher receiving voltage is automatically selected. This selection would be made in the intermediate frequency section with the simultaneous application of the invention. The above-described separation and automatic selection of the two side bands is then carried out.
