- the invention relates to a closure for plastic infusion solution bags.
- Plastic infusion solution bags are known per se and are used for the storage of solutions to be infused and usually consist of a flexible plastic material which is intended to be transparent so that any cloudiness of the solutions therein, which can be a sign of contents which are no longer perfect, can be seen.
- Such infusion solution bags must be sealed tightly and sterile, and the sealing material must be such that it can be pierced by an infusion device.
- Closures previously used for this purpose consisted, for example, of a stopper made of an elasti see material as described for example in DIN 58 366 sheet 2 for infusion bottles, which is secured with a crimp closure as described in DIN 58 363 sheet 3.
- the stopper itself usually sits on a conical or cylindrical connector that is glued or inserted into the opening of the infusion solution bag.
- stoppers can be used to reclose infusion solution bags, but they have the disadvantage that they come into contact with the solution and give off the same fillers as are contained in rubber or rubber or can give off other particles.
- inert plug materials such as ethylene-propylene copolymers
- the puncture surface of the stopper which is only sealed by a conventional crimp closure, is not sterile, and, finally, a connector that is only glued or inserted does not guarantee absolute tightness.
- a membrane closure for infusion solution bags are membrane closures.
- a membrane is simply welded or glued into the connection piece of the bag, which can be made of the same material as the bag and / or connection piece.
- bottle-pack bottles are also known, in which the bottle and the bottle neck are made of one piece, so the problem of a possible leakage, as with a glued-in or plug-in connector, is eliminated.
- bottles cannot be made from a clear material such as PVC, but are made of more or less cloudy material such as polyethylene or polypropylene and are also not at the temperature required for proper sterilization (approx. 121 ° C ) to heat.
- the object of the invention was therefore to provide a closure for a clear plastic infusion solution bag, which combines the advantages of the stopper closure with the advantages of the membrane closure and excludes their disadvantages.
- a plastic infusion solution bag which is characterized by a hollow cone (1) consisting of a cone neck (2) and a cone head (3), a membrane (4) in the cone head, one above the Membrane located, made of an elastic material disc (5), optionally with a recess (puncture mark) (6) and a sealing disc 15) tightly closing lid (7) with tearing device (8).
- the membrane (4) forms the bottom of a bowl (9) which is fitted into the conical head (3), the disk (5) again being fitted into this bowl above the membrane.
- This embodiment has the additional advantage that the bag can be filled with the infusion solution through the cone, which has previously been welded to the bag, the cup with the membrane, elastic disc and cover being subsequently welded in. If, on the other hand, the membrane is firmly connected to the cone, a second filling opening in the bag is required, which is omitted in the preferred embodiment.
- the bowl with membrane, elastic disc and cover can form a prefabricated unit which is welded into the cone head after the bag has been filled.
- the absolute tightness of the closure is achieved by welding, first the cover with the bowl, with the rubber washer in between, and then with the cone.
- the cone neck in turn is advantageously connected to the bag by welding. Welding, as the safest way to connect two parts to one another, is possible because the bowl, lid and cone are made of material that can be welded together. In contrast to other systems, the closure does not contain any plug-in or adhesive connections.
- the materials suitable for the closure e.g. PVC, rubber
- PVC polyvinyl styrene
- rubber can be sterilized in flowing steam at 121 ° C.
- the puncture surface on the elastic disc lies under the cover welded to the bowl.
- the water vapor permeability of the selected plastic guarantees that the surface of the rubber washer is also germ-free during the sterilization of the sealed container in the flowing water vapor and remains until use.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Verschluß für Plastikinfusionslösungsbeutel.The invention relates to a closure for plastic infusion solution bags.
Plastic infusion solution bags are known per se and are used for the storage of solutions to be infused and usually consist of a flexible plastic material which is intended to be transparent so that any cloudiness of the solutions therein, which can be a sign of contents which are no longer perfect, can be seen.
Such infusion solution bags must be sealed tightly and sterile, and the sealing material must be such that it can be pierced by an infusion device.
Closures previously used for this purpose consisted, for example, of a stopper made of an elasti see material as described for example in DIN 58 366
The stopper itself usually sits on a conical or cylindrical connector that is glued or inserted into the opening of the infusion solution bag.
Such stoppers can be used to reclose infusion solution bags, but they have the disadvantage that they come into contact with the solution and give off the same fillers as are contained in rubber or rubber or can give off other particles. When using inert plug materials such as ethylene-propylene copolymers, on the other hand, the problem arises that these materials are not elastic enough with the usually relatively small diameter of the puncture part, and thus tear when the infusion device is punctured and under certain circumstances do not seal sufficiently. In addition, the puncture surface of the stopper, which is only sealed by a conventional crimp closure, is not sterile, and, finally, a connector that is only glued or inserted does not guarantee absolute tightness.
Another previously known type of closure for infusion solution bags are membrane closures. Here, a membrane is simply welded or glued into the connection piece of the bag, which can be made of the same material as the bag and / or connection piece.
Such a closure is largely sealed, but the pouch cannot be sealed or closed again after the infusion device has been removed.
Finally, so-called bottle-pack bottles are also known, in which the bottle and the bottle neck are made of one piece, so the problem of a possible leakage, as with a glued-in or plug-in connector, is eliminated.
However, for manufacturing reasons, such bottles cannot be made from a clear material such as PVC, but are made of more or less cloudy material such as polyethylene or polypropylene and are also not at the temperature required for proper sterilization (approx. 121 ° C ) to heat.
The object of the invention was therefore to provide a closure for a clear plastic infusion solution bag, which combines the advantages of the stopper closure with the advantages of the membrane closure and excludes their disadvantages.
This task could be solved with the help of the new closure for a plastic infusion solution bag, which is characterized by a hollow cone (1) consisting of a cone neck (2) and a cone head (3), a membrane (4) in the cone head, one above the Membrane located, made of an elastic material disc (5), optionally with a recess (puncture mark) (6) and a sealing disc 15) tightly closing lid (7) with tearing device (8).
- Absolut dichter Verschluß durch Verschweißen der Einzelteile des Verschlusses untereinander und mit dem Beutel;
- Sterilisierbarkeit des Verschlußes im strömenden Wasserdampf bei 121°C für 20 Minuten;
- Sterilität aller unter der Abreißfläche liegenden Teile und damit auch der Einstichfläche für Infusionsgeräte bzw. Kanülen nach Autoklavierung des Systems; Wiederabdichten des Verschlusses nach Herausziehen des Infusionsgerätes;
- Absolutely tight closure by welding the individual parts of the closure to one another and to the bag;
- Sterilizability of the closure in flowing water vapor at 121 ° C for 20 minutes;
- Sterility of all parts lying under the tear-off area and thus also the puncture area for infusion devices or cannulas after the system has been autoclaved; Resealing the closure after pulling out the infusion device;
- quick and easy opening; Use of largely inert material on all parts of the closure that are in direct contact with the infusion solution.
In a preferred embodiment of the closure, the membrane (4) forms the bottom of a bowl (9) which is fitted into the conical head (3), the disk (5) again being fitted into this bowl above the membrane.
This embodiment has the additional advantage that the bag can be filled with the infusion solution through the cone, which has previously been welded to the bag, the cup with the membrane, elastic disc and cover being subsequently welded in. If, on the other hand, the membrane is firmly connected to the cone, a second filling opening in the bag is required, which is omitted in the preferred embodiment.
Another advantage of the preferred embodiment is that the bowl with membrane, elastic disc and cover can form a prefabricated unit which is welded into the cone head after the bag has been filled.
The absolute tightness of the closure is achieved by welding, first the cover with the bowl, with the rubber washer in between, and then with the cone. The cone neck in turn is advantageously connected to the bag by welding. Welding, as the safest way to connect two parts to one another, is possible because the bowl, lid and cone are made of material that can be welded together. In contrast to other systems, the closure does not contain any plug-in or adhesive connections.
The materials suitable for the closure (e.g. PVC, rubber) can be sterilized in flowing steam at 121 ° C.
The puncture surface on the elastic disc lies under the cover welded to the bowl. The water vapor permeability of the selected plastic guarantees that the surface of the rubber washer is also germ-free during the sterilization of the sealed container in the flowing water vapor and remains until use.
In a special embodiment, the elastic disk can have a kind of extension that forms hollow plugs, which protrudes into the conical head (3) and lies firmly against the side walls thereof. The The diameter of the actual disk part may be somewhat larger than that of the hollow plug part, so that the disk does not sit in the conical head, as shown in the figures, but flush on the same.
In this embodiment, the cover (7) which seals the disc (5) with a tear-open device (8) is preferably designed as a flanged metal cover which comprises the disc part sitting on the cone head and the uppermost step of the step-shaped cone head.
Due to the fact that the elastic disc is not in direct contact with the infusion solution, but is separated by the membrane, it is possible to use highly elastic natural rubber as the material for the disc. The use of highly elastic material is particularly desirable because after removal of the infusion device, there is better resealing than with a less elastic material.
The term cone in the present sense means a truncated step cone, the step. form the cone neck with the smallest diameter and the remaining steps form the cone head.
The cone neck can be cylindrical, but can itself be somewhat conical.
Although natural rubber is the optimal plug material, other types of rubber or rubbers such as chlorobutyl rubber or other elastomers can also be used in the context of the present invention.
