Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for zone-by-zone optoelectronic measurement of the area coverage of an offset printing plate or a printing template serving for the production of offset printing plates, the brightness distribution of which can be detected by a plurality of recording elements arranged transversely to the transport direction of the printing template and can be fed to a circuit for generating signals for setting ink fountain keys is.
- a prerequisite for the device specified at the outset is that the measuring zone defined by the receiving elements has the same width as the ink zone width of the printing press in which the signals derived from the brightness distribution of the original to be scanned are to be used to adjust the ink zone screws.
- the pickups arranged transversely to the transport direction of the film to be scanned are therefore dimensioned such that the zone detected by a pickup has a width which is identical to the constructionally determined ink zone width of the printing press, in which the artwork to be scanned is to be reproduced.
- the disadvantage of the previously known scanning devices according to the type specified at the outset is that, due to the aforementioned necessity, a scanning device must be structurally adapted to a specific printing press.
- the invention has for its object to provide a device for zone-by-zone opto-electronic measurement of the area coverage of offset printing plates or of templates used for the production of offset printing plates, with which signals for setting ink zone screws can be generated, which can be assigned to differently wide ink zones, so that the device is no longer tied to a single type of press.
- the advantage of the device according to the characterizing part of claim 1 is that when using several rows of receiving elements of different widths, each of which corresponds to the ink zone widths of certain printing press types, an inexpensive construction is possible and that when scanning originals that are used in printing presses with different Color zone width are to be reproduced, only a switch from one row to another row of recording elements is required.
- a device designed according to claim 2 has the advantage that a space-saving device construction is possible by using only a single row of receptacle elements, the summation of the measurement signals derived from the individual receptacle elements for the respective zone width automatically by the corresponding programming of a computer is possible, so that templates for different color zone widths can be measured without great effort and exchange manipulations.
- the device designed according to claim 3, on the other hand, enables continuous adaptation to any color zone width, so that these are used particularly where printing presses of different makes and thus non-coordinated color zones are available, for which the templates to be reproduced are to be measured with a single device .
- a film assembly intended for producing an offset printing plate is indicated at 1, the area coverage, ie the ratio of light to dark areas, can advantageously be used to adjust the ink zone screws in the area of the ink knife of a printing press.
- the film assembly 1 is transported between a light source 2 and a sensor 3, which are arranged in a measuring chamber provided with an input slot 4 and an output slot 5.
- two pairs of rollers 7 and 8 arranged next to one another at a small distance are provided for lateral limitation of the measuring chamber 6.
- the roller pairs 7 and 8 each contain a driven transport roller 9 and a driven pressure roller 10, between which the film assembly 1 is passed and which are therefore set against one another to form the input slot 4 and the output slot 5.
- Roll pairs 7 and 8 take over thereby advantageously the simultaneous insertion and further transport of the film assembly 1 and shielding of the measuring chamber 6 against stray light entering from the side.
- a speed-controlled motor 11 can be used to drive the transport rollers 9 in order to ensure a constant transport speed.
- a common motor 11 is provided for the transport rollers 9 of both pairs of rollers 7 and 8, which can be connected via a belt 12 to the driven transport rollers 9 of both pairs 7 and 8.
- the non-driven rollers 10 of the roller pairs 7 and 8 can adapt themselves to the set transport speed. In practice, a transport speed of one to three, but preferably two meters per minute is expedient.
- a guide plate 13 leading up to the roller surface can expediently be arranged, the bearing surface of which is aligned with the input and output slots 4 and 5 for receiving the film assembly.
- This ensures a simple way of guiding the film assembly 1, in particular the beginnings and ends, from the input slot 4 to the output slot 5 and also shielding the measuring chamber 6 against dirt or light penetrating from the drive.
- a removable cover 14 is provided in the area of the transport rollers 9.
- the cover 14 is shown in its pivoted position.
- the light source 2 consists, for example, of a commercially available tubular lamp and is mounted on the cover 14 by means of a holder 15.
- the pickup 3, which, as can be seen in FIG. 2, is divided into zones over its length, comprises a plurality of receiving elements 16, the length of which corresponds exactly to the width of an ink zone of a specific printing press.
- the width of the receiving elements 16 and thus of the transducer 3 is small in relation to their length.
- the small light-sensitive recording surface achieved in this way can thus advantageously be uniformly illuminated without any effort.
- Commercial optical elements, such as so-called fiber optics are suitable as receiving elements 16.
- the receiving elements 16 are embedded in narrow recesses 17 of the guide plate 13.
- the light flux emitted by the light source 2, passing through the film 1 and detected by the receiving elements 16 is, as shown in FIG. 3, fed to the individual receiving elements 16 downstream photo elements 18.
- the photo elements 18 generate an electrical signal proportional to the incoming light intensity, which is integrated in integrators 19 or in a microprocessor over the entire length of the film.
- the output signal of an integrator 19 thus corresponds exactly to the area coverage of the assigned zone of the film 1, which, as already mentioned, is identical in width to the ink zone width of a printing press.
- This output signal can optionally be stored in a memory 20 on a Display field 21 are visually displayed and / or processed via a computer 22, preferably a microprocessor, and stored in a memory 23, after which it is available for adjusting the ink fountain keys in a printing press when reproducing the measured template.
- the width of the receiving elements 16, seen transversely to the transport direction of the film assembly 1, corresponds to the ink zone width of a specific printing press. If templates now have to be scanned which are to be reproduced in printing presses with a different ink zone width, then according to one embodiment of the invention the device described above is switched over to a second pickup 3 '.
- the pickup. 3 ' has receiving elements 16', the width of which deviates from that of the receiving elements 16 and are matched to the ink zone width of this other printing press.
- the light components detected by the receiving elements 16 ' are converted into proportional electrical signals in photo elements 18' which can be supplied to the electrical circuits 19 to 21 instead of the signals generated by the photo elements 18.
- the sensor 3 or the sensor 3 ' can be used depending on the ink zone width of the printing presses. It is understood that this embodiment of the invention is not limited to the use of only two rows of receiving elements 16 and 16 '.
- the measuring zone width of a receiving element 24 corresponds to a divisor common to all color zone widths. If, for example, printing machines are used whose zone widths are 40 mm, 35 mm and 30 mm, then a receiving element 24 with a measuring zone width of 5 mm must be used. In this case, in an ink zone width of 40 mm eight receiving elements 24, wherein an ink zone width of 35 mm seven receiving elements 24 and in one ink zone width of 30 mm six A ufcordimplantation 24 combined or derived from them measured signals in a computer 25, preferably a microprocessor , added up and prepared for the control of the respective ink zone screws.
- a memory which is no longer shown in FIG. 4, can be used, in which the signals generated by the computer 25 are stored and which can be read in a known manner as required when reproducing the measured template for controlling the ink fountain keys.

Abstract
The device for zone-wise optical measurement of the area coverage of a print template, for. B. a film montage, can be used for printing presses with different ink zone widths. This is possible by using transducers (3, 3 ') transverse to the direction of transport of a film to be measured, said receptacles (16, 16') comprising different widths. Another solution consists in the use of a scissor grid (29), on the parallel legs of which receiving elements (32) are arranged, which are brought into different inclined positions with the aid of a spindle (30) adjusting the scissor grid (29), so that their projection onto the Color zone width of different machines is customizable. A third solution consists in the use of receiving elements, the width of which corresponds to a common divisor of all possible color zone widths.
Description
The invention relates to a device for zone-by-zone optoelectronic measurement of the area coverage of an offset printing plate or a printing template serving for the production of offset printing plates, the brightness distribution of which can be detected by a plurality of recording elements arranged transversely to the transport direction of the printing template and can be fed to a circuit for generating signals for setting ink fountain keys is.
From DE-Offenlegungsschrift 1 761 333 it is known to evaluate the printing form or printing template (film montage) with regard to its area coverage for setting the ink knife on the ink fountain of offset rotary printing presses and to generate setting signals for the ink fountain key therefrom. For example, in the transmitted light method by measuring positive films, negative films or film-adhesive assemblies or in incident light methods by measuring printing plates or paper adhesive assemblies, an individual measure for setting the individual ink fountain key can be determined.
A prerequisite for the device specified at the outset is that the measuring zone defined by the receiving elements has the same width as the ink zone width of the printing press in which the signals derived from the brightness distribution of the original to be scanned are to be used to adjust the ink zone screws. In the film scanning device known from DE-Offenlegungsschrift 2,618,387, the pickups arranged transversely to the transport direction of the film to be scanned are therefore dimensioned such that the zone detected by a pickup has a width which is identical to the constructionally determined ink zone width of the printing press, in which the artwork to be scanned is to be reproduced. The disadvantage of the previously known scanning devices according to the type specified at the outset is that, due to the aforementioned necessity, a scanning device must be structurally adapted to a specific printing press.
The invention has for its object to provide a device for zone-by-zone opto-electronic measurement of the area coverage of offset printing plates or of templates used for the production of offset printing plates, with which signals for setting ink zone screws can be generated, which can be assigned to differently wide ink zones, so that the device is no longer tied to a single type of press.
This object is achieved in each case in accordance with the characteristic of one of
The advantage of the device according to the characterizing part of

In Fig. 1, a film assembly intended for producing an offset printing plate is indicated at 1, the area coverage, ie the ratio of light to dark areas, can advantageously be used to adjust the ink zone screws in the area of the ink knife of a printing press. For this purpose, the
Between the
In Fig. 2 the
The light flux emitted by the
This output signal can optionally be stored in a
The width of the
16' beschränkt ist..The light components detected by the receiving elements 16 'are converted into proportional electrical signals in photo elements 18' which can be supplied to the
The light coming from the
A memory, which is no longer shown in FIG. 4, can be used, in which the signals generated by the
Somit kann, in einem bestimmten Größenbereich, eine Anpassung der Vorrichtung durch eine geeignete Schrägstellung des Scherengitters 29 an die Farbzonenbreite unterschiedlichster Druckmaschinen erreicht werden.5a and 5b the third solution to the problem on which the invention is based is shown schematically. Arranged between
Instead of the transmitted light method described here, the incident light method, e.g. B. for scanning printing plates.
