Abstract

A pouch or bag (R) constructed from multi-layer thermo­ plastic film (F) for packaging cheese, luncheon meat and the like has a lip (F1) around the mouth of the bag folded inwardly, the mouth flattened, and a transverse seal (S) applied across the bag between the fold line (12) and the folded under edge (E1) to close the bag (R) in a seal in which a portion of the outer surface (3) of the bag is sealed to itself thereby providing an easy open seal. Along one-half of the mouth a dead fold element (7) is enclosed within the fold and this element, when bent, aids in closing the package.
