Ultraschallwandler mit einem Tragkörper (2), einer Sendeschicht (4) aus einem Material mit verhältnismäßig hoher dielektrischer Konstante und hoher akustischer Impedanz und einer ersten A/4-Anpassungsschicht (8), die der Sendeschicht (4) zugewandt ist sowie einer zweiten λ/4- Anpassungsschicht, die einer Last zugewandt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet , daß die zweite λ/4-Anpassungsschicht zugleich als Empfangsschicht (6) vorgesehen ist und daß die erste λ/4-Anpassungsschicht (8) zugleich als Backing für die Empfangsschicht (6) vorgesehen ist.1.
