Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rotary transducer arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such an arrangement is used in particular in devices for non-destructive material testing in which the surface of rotationally symmetrical parts is scanned for errors by a rotating rotary head. The rotary transducers of the arrangement establish the signal connection between the fixed and the rotating part of the rotating head.
From DE-OS 2 507 931 an eddy current test device is known which contains a rotary transmitter arrangement with two rotary transmitters. In the case of the rotary transformers of this arrangement, the stationary and the rotating parts are each arranged side by side in the axial direction. Rotary transformers of this type have been in use for a long time and have proven themselves many times. However, two disadvantages limit the possible uses of the known arrangements. In order to enable the test parts to run faster, several probes are often provided in one test head. Often, probes are used that each have an excitation and a receiver winding, i.e. they already require two rotary transmitters per probe. With only four such probes, eight rotary transmitters would already be necessary. The high number of rotary transducers required for this reason within a rotary transducer arrangement consequently leads to large expansions in the axial direction, which can increase the overall cost of the arrangement considerably and also make it heavier and more unwieldy. The second of the disadvantages indicated is that only limited rotational speeds are permissible in rotary transformer assemblies of this type, since the external windings of the rotor cores would otherwise no longer be able to cope with the loads caused by the centrifugal force.
In contrast, the invention has for its object to provide a rotary transformer arrangement of the type mentioned, which requires only a relatively small extension in the axial direction even with a larger number of rotary transmitters and which is also suitable for higher speeds.
This object is achieved by a rotary transformer arrangement which is characterized in accordance with claim 1. Such an arrangement is particularly advantageous for use in rotary head test devices in which a high test speed, that is to say a rapid throughput of the parts to be tested, is expected. A high test speed is achieved on the one hand by the largest possible number of scanning probes, the spiral scanning paths of which are joined together, and on the other hand by the highest possible rotational speed of the rotating head. When using the rotary transmitter arrangement according to the invention, on the one hand the axial extension of the test device is not increased by a larger number of rotary transmitters used, on the other hand a higher rotational speed can be selected. Advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the subclaims. In particular, it should be pointed out the possibility of providing a rotor or stator disk with cores and associated windings on both sides and comparing a stator or rotor disk on both sides. As a result, the number of channels can be doubled if the axial expansion increases only moderately and without increasing the radial expansion. Another advantage of the arrangement according to the invention is that, as has been found, the crosstalk between two adjacent rotary transformers is significantly reduced.

and 6-10 details of a rotary transmitter assembly - Figures 4 and 5 sections through a modified rotary transmitter arrangement
Figures 1 and 2 show two mutually perpendicular sections through a
In addition to the very advantageous technology with
