Abstract

The invention describes a method and apparatus for the acoustic signalling of cases of drowning in swimming pools, to guarantee reliable trigger of the alarm while avoiding any false alarms. This is effected basically by a switching element (1) in a water-tight encapsulation, which is disposed beneath the surface of the water and which, in the event of an alarm, triggers a first alarm device (2) and delivers an acoustic signal via a signal horn (5). A transmitter (6) is also connected to the alarm device (2) and transmits the alarm signal to a receiver at a distance and to another alarm device (10). Instead of the switching element (1), a microphone (12) can advantageously be used for cases in which the swimming pool water is frozen.

Description

The invention relates to a method for acoustically reporting drowning people in swimming pools according to the preamble of claim 1.

In a known method of this type, the movement of the water surface of the swimming pool is monitored by a vibration-sensitive switching element housed in a floating body, which triggers an acoustic alarm device arranged outside the swimming pool in the event of an alarm via a cable connection (DE-OS 27 43 192). The disadvantage of this method is that a false alarm is triggered by a stronger wind or by branches, stones or other objects falling accidentally into the swimming pool, because the switching element floating on the water surface detects all surface movements and thereby triggers the alarm.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a method and a device for carrying out this method in which a reliable alarm triggering when a drowning person falls into the swimming pool is ensured and a false alarm is excluded.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below. Show it
  • Fig. 1 is a block diagram of the circuit arrangement of the inventive method and
  • Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of an apparatus for performing the method.

As can be seen from Fig. 1, the circuit arrangement shown as a block diagram for acoustic notification of drowning people in swimming pools consists of a switching element 1 which is fixedly arranged in the swimming pool below the water surface and which is connected to an alarm device 2 which is preferred by an accumulator 3 Operating voltage of 9 volts is fed at a quiescent current of zero amperes, the accumulator 3 being rechargeable by solar cells 4 during the day. A signal horn 5 is connected to the alarm device 2 via a relay (not shown in the drawing). When an alarm is triggered, the relay switches and signal horn 5 triggers an acoustic alarm. The alarm device 2 with the signal horn 5 is outside the swimming pool, for. B. at the edge of the pool. In order to be able to receive an alarm also at a location distant from the swimming pool, a transmitter 6 is connected to the alarm device 2 via a cable connection, from which the alarm signal is transmitted to a remote receiver 7 in the event of an alarm, the alarm signal beforehand from a preamplifier 8 is reinforced. A further alarm device 10 with a signal horn 11 is connected to the receiver 7 via a pulse converter 9.

The circuit arrangement described above can be used with ice-free water in the swimming pool 19. However, in order to be able to use the alarm device functionally even in frozen ice water, instead of the switching element 1, according to the invention, a specially encapsulated microphone 12 is hung in the ice-free water, which picks up the noise caused by a person breaking into the ice under or on the ice, this in of a subsequent electronic device processed in terms of signals and fed to the alarm devices 2 and 10 in the event of an alarm. In this case, the sinusoidal vibration generated when a body falls into the frozen swimming pool is from one Microphone 12 downstream pulse converter 13 converted into a rectangular pulse that triggers the alarm device 2 via a relay, not shown in the drawing. At the same time, the alarm signal is transmitted via the transmitter 6 to the remote receiver 7 to the alarm device 10 which triggers the alarm. An infrared device, an ultrasound transmitter or a radio device can advantageously serve as the transmitter. The receiver 7 can also be connected to an existing house alarm device or to an independent alarm device installed in the car or in a caravan. It is also advantageous if the receiver 7 is a microphone, not shown in the drawing, which is set up in a room for room monitoring of unwanted people (intruders).

In order to be able to advantageously use an alarm system for the monitoring process, it is provided that the receiver 7 can be connected, for example, to a car battery with an operating voltage of 12 volts.

Within the scope of the invention, the receiver 7 can also be connected to a smoke detector, temperature sensor or water detector.

In ice-free times, the encapsulated microphone 12 is replaced by the switching element 1. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the watertightly encapsulated switching element 1 is preferably arranged on the back of a flap 16 rotatably mounted via an axis 15 at the outlet of a funnel-shaped housing 14 perpendicular to the water surface. The switching element 1 can be a mercury switch. The wave movement caused when a body falls into a swimming pool 19 is increasingly absorbed by the funnel 14 and causes the flap 16 to rotate, as a result of which the mercury switch 1 switches the alarm device via a cable connection 17 connected to the alarm device 2 and the signal horn 5 triggers an acoustic alarm . The ent in the pool below the water surface Speaking depth immersed funnel 14 is attached to an angled linkage 18 which is arranged with its one angular part 18a on the pool edge 19a. A false alarm, which is triggered by strong wind or branches falling into the pool, is excluded by the arrangement of the switching element 1 below the water surface. By designing the funnel 14 from the flap 16 with the switching element 1, a safe triggering of the switching element is ensured in the event of an alarm, because the underwater movement caused by the body is directed to the flap 16 in an intensified and compressed manner.
