Abstract

The metering mechanism positioned against a counter-roller and located behind, with respect to the running direction of the material web, a pre-coating facility features a slit 14 on the feed side of a balancing chamber 1 formed on a front wall 4 to the counter-roller 2 and extending over the width of the web. The front wall 4 is provided with discharge channels 10 extending in the manner of a slit across the width of the web, which can be throttled by a rotary disc valve 7. In this way, an outflow from the balancing chamber 1 can only occur through the discharge channels 10, while only the coating material from the material web can be introduced through slit 14 into the balancing chamber but no coating slip emerges from the balancing chamber. <IMAGE>
