Definitions
- the invention relates to a document shredder with an electromotive drive and a reduction gear arranged between the drive and the cutting mechanism.
- Such a document shredder is known from DE-B-1221890, which is driven by an AC motor.
- the cutting speed that can be achieved with this motor is relatively low in the usual dimensioning and decreases slightly depending on the number of sheets to be processed.
- the overturning moment already occurs with relatively few leaf layers.
- one is forced to pre-process the material to be destroyed in order to match the number of blade layers to the power of the motor.
- GB-A-1569375 describes a shredder for bulky rubber or metal waste. Serve as a drive DC motors connected to a power supply.
- the voltage supply regulates the speed and the torque of two shafts of a cutting device by means of a voltage and / or current control.
- DC motors have not yet been used for document shredders because there was considerable prejudice against their installation.
- the speed of such engines is namely around 10,000 rpm. compared to approx. 1400 for AC motors with the corresponding power. It was therefore considered that a document shredder could not be adapted to such high speeds.
- the collectors would become excessively dirty and wear due to the paper dust, and that the motors would not be able to withstand constant loads.
- DC motors must not be reversed frequently at high speeds because the collector can be destroyed by the spark gap.
- DC motors also have the disadvantage that they only tolerate standstill under load for a short time and therefore appear unsuitable for shredder operation.
- the object of the invention is now seen in further developing a document shredder of the type mentioned in such a way that on the one hand the paper to be shredded is shredded as quickly as possible and on the other hand as many layers of paper as possible can be processed at the same time without the machine coming to a standstill due to overload.
- the drive is a self-regulating direct current motor, in particular a series motor, which has no additional, the reduction gear having an additional reduction stage and acting on both shafts.
- the direct current motor has a low current consumption when idling, a large current consumption and thus a large torque when loaded.
- the increase in torque prevents the cutting unit from blocking when there is a large amount of sheets.
- the change in the working speed of the document shredder results solely from the use of the direct current motor and its arrangement with an adapted reduction gear, that is to say without an external additional control.
- the motor turns more and more slowly with increasing amount of sheets - however it does not come to a standstill.
- the document shredder according to the invention can now shred a much larger number of sheet layers (more than thirty-six sheets). With small amounts of sheets and thus less stress, the working speed of the direct current motor is higher than that of an alternating current motor. Even in this area of low number of sheets, it is necessary for the cutting unit to be adapted to the high working speed of the DC motor, particularly when the load is very low, that is to say when idling. A too high rotation speed of the cutting unit would be sudden heavy workload due to high number of blades due to the setback for the entire mechanism of the cutting unit very disadvantageous.
- the adjustment is achieved only by using an additional reduction level.
- the DC motor is a series motor, it is particularly suitable as a drive because of its even more favorable motor characteristics for solving the problems of the document shredder described.
- the concerns with regard to continuous operation prove to be irrelevant, since even with shredders, there are always breaks when feeding and disposing of the material.
- the engine adopts its idling speed, which is significantly higher than that of the AC motor and, as a result, provides excellent ventilation, especially since, due to the low power consumption in this state, there is only minimal heating.
- the reversing of a document shredder and the motor driving it usually only takes place when the load is very high and then the speed is already in a range that is harmless to the collector or the coals.
- the DC motor has other significant advantages, namely a higher starting torque and extensive independence from the mains voltage. What is particularly important, however, is the significantly increased working speed compared to an AC motor with a small number of sheets, which decreases almost continuously with a large amount of material to be shredded, with the motor coming to a standstill considerably later than with the AC motor.
- the power consumption corresponds largely to this type of motor the power requirement, so that overall the efficiency is improved.
- such a DC motor is much lighter and less expensive, which simplifies the overall construction.
- the additional reduction stage is designed as a belt drive in order to reduce the noise and the shock caused by the flywheel caused by the high speed and the larger reduction.
- the DC motor in order to reduce structure-borne noise, is elastically mounted and provided with a cover that insulates airborne noise and prevents dust from entering. To avoid damaging the motor when it is idle under load, it is provided with a current-limiting device according to a further feature of the invention.
- a DC motor 2 is elastically mounted in a manner not shown.
- a reduction belt drive 4 is connected to the motor shaft 3 and is followed by a second reduced belt drive 5.
- Whose pulley 6 is connected to a pinion 7, which drives the gear 8 of the cutting mechanism 9 also geared down.
Description
- Fig. 1
- eine schematischen Schnitt durch einen Aktenvernichter,
