Abstract

In a climbing exercise apparatus, in order to avoid the feet assuming different angles to the floor rest 3 in each height position of the climbing exercise, the foot rests 1 are arranged in each case on a parallelogram-type bearing part 2, by which means they are guided approximately parallel to the floor rest 3 in every height position of the climbing exercise. The foot rests 1 are connected rigidly to the parallelogram-type bearing part 2, each foot rest 1 being provided with a foot loop 4. Due to the guiding of the foot rests 1 according to the invention, constantly changing angular positions of the feet are avoided. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a climbing exercise device with two oppositely movable footrests running in parallel planes, which are freely cantilevered and connected to an adjustable shock absorber for changing the force to be absorbed, and with a handle which is articulated at the upper end of a supporting skeleton.

In the known climbing exercise devices, the footrests are made in one piece with the supporting parts, the footrests running in the same plane as the supporting parts. With this design, the feet assume different angles to the floor support at every height of the climbing exercise. Such a foot position is not optimal for the person performing the climbing exercises, unrealistic and extremely tiring.

The invention has for its object to arrange the footrests in a climbing exercise device of the type shown so that an improved performance of the climbing exercises is possible.

This object is achieved in that the footrests are each arranged on a parallelogram-like supporting part and are guided approximately parallel to the floor support at each height of the climbing exercise. In an embodiment of the invention, the footrests are rigidly connected to the parallelogram-like support parts, each footrest being provided with a foot loop and the parallelogram-like support parts being articulated.

The handle is expediently arranged on a support tube of the support skeleton, wherein the support tube of the support skeleton can be made telescopically extendable.

In an embodiment of the invention, a deflection roller for guiding a connecting cable is arranged on the support tube of the support skeleton, the ends of which are firmly connected to a parallelogram-type support part. In a preferred exemplary embodiment, the climbing exercise device is mounted on the floor at three points, it being advisable to arrange one floor support (s) on the front part and two on the rear part.

Due to the inventive guidance of the foot supports approximately parallel to the floor support at every height of the climbing exercise, the constantly changing angular positions of the feet are avoided. This enables an improved performance of the climbing exercises.

  • Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines Steigübungsgeräts und
  • Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf ein Steigübungsgerät.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a side view of a climbing device and
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view of a climbing exercise device.

As can be seen from Fig. 2, the footrests 1 run in two parallel planes. To better hold the feet, the surfaces of the footrests 1 are profiled, expediently in the form of a rubber pad, and each have a foot strap 4. Each footrest 1 is rigidly connected to a parallelogram-like support part 2 and is guided approximately parallel to the floor support 3 at each height. The parallelogram-like support parts 2 are articulated.

The footrests 1 can be moved in opposite directions. The two parallelogram-like support parts 2 are connected to one another via a cable guided over a deflection roller 7, this ends of the connection cable 8 being firmly connected to the support parts 2. With a climb or Pedal movement, the corresponding footrest 1 with the associated parallelogram-like support part 2 is pressed down and at the same time the other footrest 1 with the associated parallelogram-like support part 2 is raised via the connecting cable 8.

The supporting skeleton of the climbing exercise device has a support tube 6, at the upper end of which an articulated handle 5 is arranged. To adapt to different body sizes, the support tube 6 is designed to be telescopically extendable. This carrier tube 6 also serves to accommodate an adjustable shock absorber 9, which is connected on the other side to the parallelogram-like support parts 2. Different loads can be set via the shock absorber 9.

The climbing device is provided with one floor pad (s) 3 in the front part and two in the rear part. Thanks to this three-point bearing, stability is guaranteed even on an uneven surface. In addition, the weight of the climbing exercise device is reduced in three-point storage by saving material.
