Abstract

To distinguish original prints from copies, a method is proposed which allocates fine invisible markings, which cannot be reproduced by copying processes, to the original print. The markings themselves can only be detected by optical aids.

Description

The invention relates to a method for marking original prints to distinguish them from copies.

For many applications in printing technology, it is necessary to distinguish the original from copies, for example in the case of fee or value stamps. Using modern copying processes, such prints, especially if they are printed on adhesive strips, such as. B. franking devices, are reproduced as desired and are practically indistinguishable from the original.

For documents it is known to include warning markings that are not visually visible, because they are of the same color and density of the background and are overlaid by other prints or patterns (DE-OS 34 19 859). The warning marks are only visible in the copy.

It is also known to use security paper for the original print, the color density of the security markings being below the reproducibility limit of color copiers (DE-PS 28 05 146).

However, such methods are complex and sometimes not applicable when direct prints on different templates are required, such as. B. letters or various voucher forms.

The invention had for its object to provide a security method for the latter purposes of directly printing value stamps on various printing templates, which makes copies of the original prints or forgeries recognizable.

This object is achieved in that fine markings which are invisible to the eye and which cannot be reproduced by commercially available copiers are also printed in the original print.

Fine markings, such as lines, grids or patterns, which are not visible to the eye, are also printed in the original. These markings can only be recognized with the help of optical devices, e.g. B. magnifying glasses. They are therefore invisible to any normal copier and cannot be reproduced. This makes it easy to check if the counterfeit is suspected or if a copy is deliberately given as an original. The markings are preferably generated via the printing device. So in a simple way in any fineness such markings on the printer control, for. B. a printhead in franking machines.

Another variant of the production of invisible markings is their introduction into or onto the material to be printed before printing. For printers with printing inks or inks, this can be done by a corresponding printing unit for fine markings. Or the print template is already provided with appropriate markings during its manufacture, for example in the case of envelopes or special paper strips for strip dispensers of franking and / or stamping machines within the paper substrate.

Another variant is the introduction of the markings into the ribbon.
