- the shielding body according to the invention can be provided with a safety lock to prevent the radiator from extending without a connected extension hose and / or without a remote control being connected to the radiator.
- the safety lock can consist of a locking slide which can be displaced transversely to the channel axis for the spotlight in its retracted position, an axially displaceable locking pin which can be coupled to the movement of the spotlight and releases the locking slide in the retracted position of the spotlight, and at least one locking block actuated by the coupling of the extension tube , the locking slide is released when the release hose is not coupled.

- An axially displaceable actuating tube 22 is arranged in the bore 8, the inner diameter of which is large enough to allow the articulated connection 20 and the flexible cable 21 to be displaced axially. However, the diameter of the lamp holding head 19 is so large that it cannot be retracted into the actuating tube 22.

- This locking slide is, as shown in Fig. 5, moved by a compression spring 25 in the position shown.
- the gamma radiator 18 is locked in the radiator holding head 19 against axial displacement, since neither a coupling 14 for the extension tube nor a coupling 16 for the remote control is connected to the gamma paragraph device.
- the locking results from the fact that in this position a locking block 26 is moved against the action of a compression spring 27 into a bore in the end plate 2, so that the locking slide 24 can move into the position shown.

- a shoulder 36 engages in a transverse bore 32 in the locking slide 24, a notch 35 in the actuating tube 22 and in the articulated connection 20 of the radiator holding head 19; it thereby prevents the gamma emitter 18 from inadvertently emerging from the channel 37.
- the extension hose is coupled to the gammagraphy device via the coupling 14 and the remote control via the coupling 16, the coupling sleeves 15 and 17 effect this by means of a pin 31, a lever 30 and a connection 29 Withdrawing the bolt 28 and moving the bolt 38, which thus emerge from the bores 33, 34 in the locking slide 24.
- the unlocked locking slide 24 can be moved laterally until it reaches the position shown in FIG. 6 reached. In this position, a transverse bore 32 in the locking slide 24 is aligned with the locking block 26, while the shoulder 36 is moved out of the area of the notch 35 in the articulated connection 20 and the actuating tube 22.
- the locking block 26 comes under the action of a compression spring 27 into the region of the transverse bore 32 and holds the locking slide 24 in the unlocked position.
- the gamma emitter 18 in the emitter holder head 19 can now be moved by means of the articulated connection 20 and the flexible cable 21 of the remote control coupled therewith through the channel 37 and the coupling 14 into the extension tube until it reaches the area where the non-destructive material testing takes place to be carried out.
- the gamma emitter 18 can be moved back into the shielding body 23 in the reverse manner, after which a locking according to FIG. In this state, the couplings 14, 15 can be released from the gamma imaging device, which can now be transported to another location.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a shielding system, in particular for a gamma imaging device, with a radiator arranged and movable in a channel of a shielding body.
Such shielding systems for gamma-ray devices are used for the safe handling of radioactive emitters, for example in the non-destructive radiation test of workpieces. The devices not only have to ensure safe protection of the operating personnel against radioactive radiation when the emitter has moved back into the shielding body, they also have to enable a safe remote control for extending the emitter from the shielding body into the area of a workpiece. To achieve this, gammagraphy devices are known that guarantee a high level of safety through complex radiation protection as well as semi or fully automatic actuation and protection. However, these devices are complex and accordingly heavy and complicated to use.
The invention has for its object to provide an easy-to-use shielding system, especially for a gammagraphy device, which despite a sufficient Radiation protection ensures a low weight and sufficient security against incorrect operation.
Based on this task, it is proposed that the shielding body according to the invention at least partially consists of tungsten powder compressed with a heat-resistant binder. So far, only the shielding materials depleted uranium (U 238), lead and tungsten exist as solid or regular metal blocks. The requirement of dimensional stability up to 800 ° C prohibits the use of lead. In contrast, bound tungsten powder has this temperature resistance and offers the possibility to produce almost any geometries for the shielding body relatively easily. In particular, a spatially, in particular helically twisted channel can be arranged in the shielding body in a simple manner. In this way, no radiation can escape through the extension channel of the shielding body and sufficient shielding mass is available at every point of the channel. The channel can be made more compact compared to known S-shaped channels, which makes the shielding body smaller and lighter.
The shielding body can consist, for example, of an essentially spherical part made of a high-density material, for example depleted uranium with an essentially diametrically extending channel and an essentially cylindrical part located in front of the channel outlet and made of tungsten powder compressed with a heat-resistant binder and having an axially arranged therein staggered and spatially twisted channel exist. The uranium ball provides a uniform shielding of the beam in all directions when it reaches the center of the ball has returned. The cylindrical part made of tungsten powder in front of the duct outlet serves to shield the duct outlet and for this purpose takes up the twisted duct, so that secure shielding is also guaranteed in this area.
Since the cylindrical part consists of tungsten powder compressed with a heat-resistant binder, the twisted channel can be produced in a simple manner from a tube embedded in the tungsten powder and protruding into a diametrical bore in the uranium ball.
In order to rule out incorrect operation, the shielding body according to the invention can be provided with a safety lock to prevent the radiator from extending without a connected extension hose and / or without a remote control being connected to the radiator.
Specifically, the safety lock can consist of a locking slide which can be displaced transversely to the channel axis for the spotlight in its retracted position, an axially displaceable locking pin which can be coupled to the movement of the spotlight and releases the locking slide in the retracted position of the spotlight, and at least one locking block actuated by the coupling of the extension tube , the locking slide is released when the release hose is not coupled.
The locking slide can have a transverse bore for the locking stone and at least one transverse bore for the bolt as well as a step in the bore for the locking stone which interacts with a notch in an actuating tube.
Furthermore, the radiator can be arranged on a cable guided through the locking stone and the actuating tube and can be arranged in a head which is somewhat thickened relative to the bore in the actuating tube. When the spotlight is moved back, the actuating tube is axially displaced in this way, takes the locking block with it and causes the spotlight to be locked by the locking slide. At the same time, this ensures and indicates that the spotlight is retracted.
The coupling for the remote control can be arranged opposite to the coupling for the extension hose on the gammagraphy device; they actuate axially displaceable locking pins, which interact with the locking slide, via coupling sleeves in the sense of unlocking with a properly coupled extension tube and a coupled remote control.

The gammagraphy device has a cylindrical housing 1 which is closed at both ends by an
Between one of the
In the area of the
An axially
In the area of the
If, as shown in FIG. 6, the extension hose is coupled to the gammagraphy device via the
After the end of the test, the gamma emitter 18 can be moved back into the shielding
