Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector with a plug having a plug and a plug-in housing which has an insertion opening and a printed circuit board with plated-through holes which receive the plug pins.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a connector which has a simple structure with few elements and enables simple, quick assembly, and in which a secure alignment of the plug pins of the plug on the holes in the circuit board during insertion and after the insertion of the plug into the plug-in housing is ensured.
- the object is achieved according to the invention in that the plug and the housing each have complementary positioning elements.
- the complementary positioning elements result in a defined and correct position of the individual connector pins with respect to the plated-through holes of the printed circuit board in the plug-in housing during the insertion process, so that the connector pins can be safely and reliably inserted into the circuit board holes. Even after the mutually complementary positioning element prevent a change in position and in particular a rotational movement of the plug with respect to the plug-in housing, so that a lateral application of force to the plug pins and / or the printed circuit board holes is reliably avoided.
- the plug has a polygonal flange arranged perpendicular to its longitudinal axis.
- the polygonal flange is preferably a square flange.
- the plug-in housing has at least one projection with an edge which defines the position, in particular also the rotational position, of the polygonal flange, for example the square flange, of the plug with respect to the plug-in housing.
- the plug-in housing has an edge protrusion on the side with the plug-in opening above and below the opening, so that these edge protrusions form a groove in which the corresponding edges of the polygonal flange, in particular the square flange, enclose and are positioned in this way that the connector pins can be reliably inserted into the printed circuit board bores and in particular that no lateral forces occur on the connector pins and the bores after insertion.
- the width of the sides of the housing having the insertion bore is equal to the width of the polygonal, in particular the square, flange of the plug. If at least one edge of the polygon or square flange of the plug is flush with at least one lateral edge of the plug-in housing when the plug is inserted into the plug-in bore, this ensures that the plug pins are in the correct position, in particular in the correct angular position, for safe and correctly inserted into the PCB holes.
- the plug has at least one locking wing for locking in the plug-in housing.
- the resilient latching wings spread open and thus prevent the plug from being pulled out again after plugging into the plug-in housing.
- the snap-in latches ensure that the connector sits securely and reliably in the plug-in housing, even when the connector is subjected to mechanical or vibratory loads.
- the plug has a sealing ring.
- the sealing ring When the plug is inserted, the sealing ring is located in the insertion opening and presses against the inner wall of the insertion opening. This prevents water from entering the plug-in housing.
- the connector pins are drilled out and slotted in the longitudinal direction over part of the pin length.
- Such press fit pins allow a particularly reliable and safe contact in a hole, in the present case in the plated-through hole in the circuit board.
- a transverse bore is preferably provided in the plane of the slot, the diameter of the transverse bore preferably being somewhat larger than the width of the slot. In this way, the forces absorbed by the contacts can be better absorbed.
- the plug pins designed in this way there is good, reliable, resilient contact of the plug pins with the inner surfaces of the plated-through holes in the printed circuit board.
- a thread is preferably provided on the end of the plug facing away from the connector pins, onto which the line continuation can be screwed.
- the connector housing is made of plastic.
- the connector carrier being made of plastic and being injected into the preferably metallic connector housing. This facilitates the manufacture of the connector. If the connector housing is made of a metal, the thread on the end facing away from the connector pins is also more durable and less prone to wear than with a connector housing made of plastic.
- the plug housing is made of metal, preferably of a die-cast metal, it is particularly advantageous to provide a ring gear or knurled knurling on a surface of the plug-in housing, in particular the plug-in opening, so that there is a good positive fit between the plug and insert housing is reached.
- the plug-in housing is preferably made of plastic.
- the insertion opening of the insertion housing which receives the connector is preferably equipped with knurled grooves which form an interference fit for the connector. This creates a safe, reliable plug connection of the plug in the insertion opening and it is avoided that the plug can be rotated in the insertion opening.
- the plug-in housing has two lateral guide grooves perpendicular to the axis of the plug for receiving the printed circuit board. This will make the circuit board when assembling the connector is simply inserted into the plug-in housing and held in place.
- conductor tracks run from the holes in the circuit board to projections, which can be tooth-like, on the edge of the circuit board.
- the projections or teeth which are punched out in a pin-like manner, are coated with a conductor and allow a simple electrical connection, for example soldering to further leads.
- a transverse plate receiving the projections of the printed circuit board is provided transversely to the printed circuit board, the transverse plate advantageously being designed as a printed circuit board.
- the projections of the printed circuit board engage in corresponding bores or holes, so that the projections of the printed circuit board are easily connected, for example soldered, to the corresponding conductive tracks running on the cross plate.
- a particularly simple method for assembling a connector according to the invention is that the plug with its polygonal flange, preferably a square flange, is inserted into a complementary polygonal recess, preferably a square recess, in an assembly table, and that the plug-in housing is pressed onto the plug from above .
- the latching wings of the connector then snap into place behind the insertion opening in the insertion housing, so that the connector is firmly seated.
- the plug-in housing on the plug slide the plug pins are in the correct position into the plated-through holes in the circuit board.
- Fig. 1 shows a connector with connector pins 2, with locking wings 3, with a square flange 4, with a thread 5 formed on the side of the connector facing away from the connector pins 2 and a sealing ring 5a.
- Fig. 2 shows a schematic exploded view of an embodiment of a connector.
- a housing 6 is equipped with an insertion opening 7 and with guide grooves 9 in the interior of the insertion housing 6, into which a printed circuit board 8 is inserted from above.
- the circuit board 8 has plated-through holes 20 for receiving the connector pins 2 and projections 10, which act as teeth or soldering lugs for connecting the contacts of the holes 20 serve outside.
- a cross plate 11 is provided, which is also designed as a printed circuit board, which receives the projections 10 of the printed circuit board 8 in corresponding bores in order to be soldered therein, and which establishes the electrical connection with the conductor tracks of this cross plate 11.
- the cross plate 11 is also the cover plate for the plug-in housing 6.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a connector with a plug having a plug and a plug-in housing which has an insertion opening and a printed circuit board with plated-through holes which receive the plug pins.
Conventional connectors of this type have a very complicated structure, so that their manufacture and in particular their assembly is complex. In addition, it is not reliably ensured with conventional connectors of this type that the connector pins of the connector are defined and can be inserted precisely into the plated-through holes in the printed circuit board and are securely held therein.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a connector which has a simple structure with few elements and enables simple, quick assembly, and in which a secure alignment of the plug pins of the plug on the holes in the circuit board during insertion and after the insertion of the plug into the plug-in housing is ensured.
Starting from the connector mentioned at the outset, the object is achieved according to the invention in that the plug and the housing each have complementary positioning elements. The complementary positioning elements result in a defined and correct position of the individual connector pins with respect to the plated-through holes of the printed circuit board in the plug-in housing during the insertion process, so that the connector pins can be safely and reliably inserted into the circuit board holes. Even after the mutually complementary positioning element prevent a change in position and in particular a rotational movement of the plug with respect to the plug-in housing, so that a lateral application of force to the plug pins and / or the printed circuit board holes is reliably avoided.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the plug has a polygonal flange arranged perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. The polygonal flange is preferably a square flange. As a complementary positioning element in such a plug, the plug-in housing has at least one projection with an edge which defines the position, in particular also the rotational position, of the polygonal flange, for example the square flange, of the plug with respect to the plug-in housing. As a possible embodiment, the plug-in housing has an edge protrusion on the side with the plug-in opening above and below the opening, so that these edge protrusions form a groove in which the corresponding edges of the polygonal flange, in particular the square flange, enclose and are positioned in this way that the connector pins can be reliably inserted into the printed circuit board bores and in particular that no lateral forces occur on the connector pins and the bores after insertion.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the width of the sides of the housing having the insertion bore is equal to the width of the polygonal, in particular the square, flange of the plug.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the plug has at least one locking wing for locking in the plug-in housing. After inserting the plug into the plug-in housing, the resilient latching wings spread open and thus prevent the plug from being pulled out again after plugging into the plug-in housing. At the same time, the snap-in latches ensure that the connector sits securely and reliably in the plug-in housing, even when the connector is subjected to mechanical or vibratory loads.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the plug has a sealing ring. When the plug is inserted, the sealing ring is located in the insertion opening and presses against the inner wall of the insertion opening. This prevents water from entering the plug-in housing.
It is advantageous if the connector pins are drilled out and slotted in the longitudinal direction over part of the pin length. Such press fit pins allow a particularly reliable and safe contact in a hole, in the present case in the plated-through hole in the circuit board. At the end of the slot, a transverse bore is preferably provided in the plane of the slot, the diameter of the transverse bore preferably being somewhat larger than the width of the slot. In this way, the forces absorbed by the contacts can be better absorbed. With the plug pins designed in this way, there is good, reliable, resilient contact of the plug pins with the inner surfaces of the plated-through holes in the printed circuit board.
For the connection of the connector pins for line continuation to the outside, a thread is preferably provided on the end of the plug facing away from the connector pins, onto which the line continuation can be screwed.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the connector housing is made of plastic. However, it is also advantageous to manufacture the connector housing from a metal, the connector carrier being made of plastic and being injected into the preferably metallic connector housing. This facilitates the manufacture of the connector. If the connector housing is made of a metal, the thread on the end facing away from the connector pins is also more durable and less prone to wear than with a connector housing made of plastic.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, in which the plug housing is made of metal, preferably of a die-cast metal, it is particularly advantageous to provide a ring gear or knurled knurling on a surface of the plug-in housing, in particular the plug-in opening, so that there is a good positive fit between the plug and insert housing is reached. The plug-in housing is preferably made of plastic. In the case of a connector which has a jacket or a connector housing made of metal, the insertion opening of the insertion housing which receives the connector is preferably equipped with knurled grooves which form an interference fit for the connector. This creates a safe, reliable plug connection of the plug in the insertion opening and it is avoided that the plug can be rotated in the insertion opening.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the plug-in housing has two lateral guide grooves perpendicular to the axis of the plug for receiving the printed circuit board. This will make the circuit board when assembling the connector is simply inserted into the plug-in housing and held in place.
It is particularly advantageous if conductor tracks run from the holes in the circuit board to projections, which can be tooth-like, on the edge of the circuit board. The projections or teeth, which are punched out in a pin-like manner, are coated with a conductor and allow a simple electrical connection, for example soldering to further leads.
According to a further very advantageous embodiment of the invention, a transverse plate receiving the projections of the printed circuit board is provided transversely to the printed circuit board, the transverse plate advantageously being designed as a printed circuit board. In the cross plate, the projections of the printed circuit board engage in corresponding bores or holes, so that the projections of the printed circuit board are easily connected, for example soldered, to the corresponding conductive tracks running on the cross plate.
A particularly simple method for assembling a connector according to the invention is that the plug with its polygonal flange, preferably a square flange, is inserted into a complementary polygonal recess, preferably a square recess, in an assembly table, and that the plug-in housing is pressed onto the plug from above . The latching wings of the connector then snap into place behind the insertion opening in the insertion housing, so that the connector is firmly seated. By positioning the plug-in housing on the plug slide, the plug pins are in the correct position into the plated-through holes in the circuit board.

In this embodiment, a
The individual parts of the plug-in
Fig. 3 shows the cross section through the fully assembled connector.
As can be seen from Fig. 3, the
The connector pins 2 lie in the respective plated-through
The plug pins 2 have
Die beiden Vorsprünge 14 bilden mit ihren Kanten dabei eine Nut.FIG. 4 shows three different embodiments for the complementary positioning elements on the side of the plug-in
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4b, a
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4c, the side of the plug-in
In Fig. 5 ist der Querchnitt einer weiteren Ausführungsform der Erfindung dargestellt, wobei Teile und Elemente, die denen der in Fig. 3 dsrgestellten Ausführungsform entsprechen, mit denselben Bezugszeichen versehen sind und nicht nochmals erläutert werden.5 shows the cross section of a further embodiment of the invention, parts and elements which correspond to those of the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 being provided with the same reference symbols and not being explained again.
In this embodiment, the
Fig. 6 zeigt die Leiterplatte 8 in schematischer Darstellung. Fig. 6 shows the
In Fig. 7, an assembly table 23 is shown schematically, which has a
