Abstract

A shoe includes one or more wheels (13) detachably securing to the sole (1) for changing to a roller skate. One or more plates (20) are secured to the sole (1), and one or more brackets (10) are secured to the plates (20) for pivotally supporting wheels (13). The brackets (10) each has one ear (14) engaged through the plate (20) and each has the other ear (140). A latch (30) is secured to the plate (20) and engaged with the ear (1400) for securing the brackets (10) to the plates (20). The brackets (10) each has one or more extensions (16) for pivotally securing additional wheels (13).

Description

  • The invention relates to a shoe having detachable wheels for changing to a roller skate.
  • Typical shoes and roller skates may not be exchanged from each other.
  • The invention is to provide a shoe having one or more wheels detachably secured to the shoe sole.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shoe having the wheels attached to the sole to form a roller skate;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the shoe and wheels;
  • FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 are cross sectional views of the shoe; and
  • FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing the other application of the wheel device for the shoe.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-4, a shoe comprises a sole 1 having one or more recesses 18 for receiving one or more plates 20 which may be secured in the sole 1 by fasteners or adhesive materials or by a molding process while forming the sole. The plates 20 are received in the recesses 18 of the sole 1 (FIG. 4) such that the shoe may be used as a typical shoe when the wheels are detached from the plates 20. The plates 20 each has a depression 21 for receiving a bracket 10, and each has a slot 22 and a cavity 23 communicating with the depression 21 for receiving a bulge 15 and an ear 14 of the bracket 10 respectively. The bracket 10 includes another ear 140 received in the depression 21. The plates 20 each includes a pair of channels 24 located beside the depression 21 and beside the ear 140, and another pair of channels 25. A latch 30 is engaged through the channels 24, 25 and engaged with the ear 140 for securing the bracket 10 to the plate 20 (FIG. 4), and includes a knob 31 for moving the latch 30, and includes one or more orifices 32 each for receiving a spring 33 and a projection 34 which may be biased to engage with the channels 24 (FIG. 5) or 25 for securing the latch 30 to the plate 20. The brackets 10 each includes a pair of arms 11 for pivotally securing a wheel 13 at a pivot shaft 12.
  • The plates 20 are separately secured to the sole 1 and each occupies a small area such that the shoe sole 1 may be deformed and may be used as the typical shoe when the brackets 10 and the wheels 13 are disengaged from the sole 1. One pair of shoes each has a wheel 13 attached thereto, such that the two wheels on the two shoes are good enough to form a roller skate.
  • Referring next to FIG. 6, the bracket 10 may include one or more pairs of extensions 16 for pivotally securing the other wheels 13 at a pivot shaft 12 each, and may include a catch 17 engaged into the sole 1 for stably securing the extensions 16 and the additional wheels 13 to the sole 1.
