brackets (10) each has one ear (14) engaged through the
plate (20) and each has the other ear (140). A latch
(30) is secured to the plate (20) and engaged with the
ear (1400) for securing the brackets (10) to the plates
(20). The brackets (10) each has one or more extensions
(16) for pivotally securing additional wheels (13).
Description
- The invention relates to a shoe having detachable wheels for changing to a roller skate.
- Typical shoes and roller skates may not be exchanged from each other.
- The invention is to provide a shoe having one or more wheels detachably secured to the shoe sole.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shoe having the wheels attached to the sole to form a roller skate;
- FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the shoe and wheels;
- FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 are cross sectional views of the shoe; and
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing the other application of the wheel device for the shoe.
-
- Referring to FIGS. 1-4, a shoe comprises a sole 1 having one or
more recesses 18 for receiving one ormore plates 20 which may be secured in the sole 1 by fasteners or adhesive materials or by a molding process while forming the sole. Theplates 20 are received in therecesses 18 of the sole 1 (FIG. 4) such that the shoe may be used as a typical shoe when the wheels are detached from theplates 20. Theplates 20 each has adepression 21 for receiving abracket 10, and each has aslot 22 and acavity 23 communicating with thedepression 21 for receiving abulge 15 and anear 14 of thebracket 10 respectively. Thebracket 10 includes anotherear 140 received in thedepression 21. Theplates 20 each includes a pair ofchannels 24 located beside thedepression 21 and beside theear 140, and another pair ofchannels 25. Alatch 30 is engaged through thechannels ear 140 for securing thebracket 10 to the plate 20 (FIG. 4), and includes aknob 31 for moving thelatch 30, and includes one ormore orifices 32 each for receiving aspring 33 and aprojection 34 which may be biased to engage with the channels 24 (FIG. 5) or 25 for securing thelatch 30 to theplate 20. Thebrackets 10 each includes a pair ofarms 11 for pivotally securing awheel 13 at apivot shaft 12. - The
plates 20 are separately secured to the sole 1 and each occupies a small area such that theshoe sole 1 may be deformed and may be used as the typical shoe when thebrackets 10 and thewheels 13 are disengaged from the sole 1. One pair of shoes each has awheel 13 attached thereto, such that the two wheels on the two shoes are good enough to form a roller skate. - Referring next to FIG. 6, the
